JOE E. LUCERO
Joe E. Lucero, 67, of Manzano passed away June 1, 2008 at his home with his loving family beside him.
Joe was born August 3, 1940, to Jose B. and Josefita (Montoya) Lucero in Albuquerque. Joe was preceded in death by his father, Jose, and his sister, Mary Carson. He is survived by his mother, Josefita, of Albuquerque; son, Emmanuel Lucero and wife Renee of California; daughter Christine Lucero of Isleta, N.M.; brothers, Anthony Lucero; Richard Lucero and wife Josie; Manuel Lucero and wife Lucille; sisters, Connie Zamora and husband Gilbert; Mela Lopez and husband Jakie; Theresa Coddens and husband Jerry; Esther Saenz and husband Leo; five grandchildren, Shantel Lucero; Rochella Lucero; Noel Lucero; Patrick Chavez; and Marcelina Joe; two great-grandchildren; Isaac Livingston; Arinania Gantar; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A rosary will be recited June 4 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Manzano. A mass will be celebrated today at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church at 2 p.m. Father Ron Stone will be officiating. Interment will follow at the Manzano Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Manuel Lucero, Richard Lucero, Anthony Lucero, Jake Lopez, Jerry Coddens, Gilbert Zamora and Leo Saenz. Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Livingston, Kyle Gantar, Johnny Baca and Matthew Lucero.

WILLARD L. SODDERS
Willard L. Sodders, 63, of Albuquerque passed away on May 30, 2008 in Mountainair.
Willard was born on June 23, 1944, in Waltham, Mass. to Willard and Mildred (Swisher) Sodders. Willard married Sarah Umfleet in Vincennes, Ind., on October 14, 1973. He was preceded in death by his mother. Willard is survived by his father, Willard Sodders; wife Sarah Sodders; son, Bradley L. Floote; and brothers, George Sodders; Joe Sodders; Jack Sodders and Mike Sodders.

ELIZABETH SAENZ-SERRANO
Elizabeth Saenz-Serrano, 36, of Albuquerque passed away June 4, 2008, with her loving family beside her.
Elizabeth was born February 18, 1972, in Albuquerque to Ernesto and Maxine (Martinez) Saenz. Elizabeth graduated from New Futures in Albuquerque in 1990 and she was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Edgewood Ward. Elizabeth was a beloved daughter, mom, wife, sister and auntie.
Elizabeth is survived by her father Ernesto and mother Maxine; husband David Serrano of Albuquerque; son Victor G. Saenz; daughters Victoria A. Trujillo and Aza D. Trujillo; brothers Chris Duran and wife Geraldine of Albuquerque and Ernesto Saenz Jr. of Edgewood; sisters Carla Young-Batts and husband Justin of Edgewood and Marianita Saenz of Albuquerque; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A viewing was held June 7 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Edgewood Ward in Edgewood. Funeral services were held following the viewing. Bishop Jason Farrell Shepherd officiated. Interment followed at the Mountain Valley Cemetery in Edgewood. Pallbearers were David Serrano, Victor Saenz, Chris Duran, Ernesto Saenz, Justin Batts and Marcos Saenz. Honorary pallbearers were Justin Batts Jr., Carlos Batts and Richard Paiz.

GERALDINE D. PERKINS
Geraldine D. Perkins, 100, of Corona passed away June 5, 2008 at her home.
Geraldine was born December 4, 1907, in Longton, Kan., to Frank and Mary (McKay) DuBois. Geraldine was a charter member of the Presbyterian Church of Corona, and a member of Chi Omega, Crown Cowbells, Beta Sigma Phi, Pythian Sisters of New Mexico Cedar Temple No. 26. Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Archie and her brother Frank. She taught school, ranched with her family later with Archie, and was a pharmacist in Corona for 47 years. She is survived by her son, Rand and wife Inez; daughter, Sherrill Bradford and husband Bob, all of Corona; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held June 8 at the Corona Presbyterian Church.

GERALDINE M. SOUTH
Geraldine M. South, 79, of Estancia passed away May 16, 2008 in Albuquerque.
Geraldine was born September 4, 1927, in Peoria, Ill., to Clifford and Mary (Summers) Gunner. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son, Avery P. South Jr. Geraldine is survived by her son, Terry L. South and wife Shirly Ann of Estancia; brother, Clifford S. Gunner of Colorado Springs; sisters, Sonja Jones of Albuquerque; Joan Gunner of Utah and Cherly Lee Dourty of Wisconsin. Funeral Services were held on May 20 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Estancia; President Virgil Higgins officiated. Interment followed at the Mountain View Cemetery in Moriarty.

BILLY RAY LOCKETT
Billy Ray Lockett, 74, passed away on April 27, 2008 in Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles, and sisters, Bessie, Betty Jo and Lucille. Billy Ray is survived by one sister, Bobbie A. Dinkins, and one brother, Pat Lockett, and numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of "Mr. Bill's" life was held May 10 with family and friends in attendance.

RUBY MAY BRADDOCK
Ruby May Braddock, 87, of Stanley passed away Saturday, June 14, 2008, in Albuquerque. Ruby was born May 6, 1921, in Waxahachie, Texas, to Joe S. and Minnie Della (Ford) Flippans. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lawrence Wesley Braddock; and son Royce Earl Braddock.
She is survived by daughters, Dorothy Dennison and husband Larry of Stanley; Minnie Hooper and husband Bill of Andrews, Texas; son, Wesley Gene Braddock of Moriarty; 19 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held today, June 19, at 11 a.m. at the Gaines County Cemetery in Seminole, Texas. Pallbearers will be Leo Dennison, Ronnie Dennison, Thomas Dennison, Wesley Dennison, and Jerry Spencer.

Pervy L. “Chuck” Freeman was born in Fayette, Ala., on Aug. 14, 1924, and passed away at his home in McIntosh on May 31, 2008.
Cremation has already taken place.

Jessica Marie Anderson-Brock, 24, of Moriarty passed away Monday, June 16, 2008, in Albuquerque with her loving family beside her.
Jessica was born on Jan. 14, 1984, in Fargo, N.D., to Richard Anderson and Betty (Murphy) Howell. Jessica married Brady Michael Brock on Dec. 9, 2006. She was preceded in death by her grandparents. Jessica is survived by her husband, Brady Brock of Moriarty; son, Domanic Brock of Moriarty; father, Richard Anderson of Fort Ranson, N.D.; mother, Betty Howell and husband Michael of Moriarty; sister Janelle Wheeler and husband Jarrod of Albuquerque; niece Kylie and nephew Steven Wheeler; brothers, Richard Anderson Jr; Todd Fox.
A viewing will be held today, June 19, at the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 20, at the First Baptist Church of Edgewood at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at the Mountain View Cemetery in Moriarty. Pastor Brian Piatt officiating. Pallbearers will be Matt Brock, Andrew Brock, Jordan Brock, Jarrod Wheeler, Tori Duran and Skyler Doty.

LEONARD WAYNE PHILLIPS
Leonard Wayne Phillips, 65, of Moriarty passed away on June 16, 2008. Leonard was born on April 1, 1943, in Globe, Ariz., to Lee and Verna (Nunn) Phillips. Leonard married Sandra Irene Sims on March 30, 1983.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Walter “Sunny” Holmesly and son, Leonard Phillips Jr. Leonard is survived by his wife, Sandra I. Phillips of Moriarty; father-in-law, Paul Sims of Albuquerque; sons, Sean P. Phillips and wife Juliann of Albuquerque; daughter, Erin Pierce and husband Brian of Moriarty; four grandchildren; Hunter Paul Phillips; Dustin Wayne Pierce; Colby Wayne Pierce and Cecil Dale Pierce. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 20, at 2:30 p.m. at the Victory Faith Fellowship in Moriarty. Interment will follow at the Mountain View Cemetery in Moriarty.
