FOREST CLIFTON HUNTER
Forest Clifton Hunter, 97, passed away at home on Friday, June 13, 2008. Clif was born Feb. 15, 1911, in San Saba, Texas, to Arthur Ralph and Mattie Dove Hunter. He was the third of five children. In 1920, the family moved from San Saba County, Texas, to New Mexico and bought a farm north of Mountainair.
Clif was a dry land bean farmer. On Nov. 16, 1932, Clif married Nettie Pauline Simpson. They had two daughters, Helen and Lois. They were later divorced. In 1960, he married Lillian Cantrell. They were later divorced.
In 1950, Clif moved to Hot Springs and later to Las Cruces where he resided until his death. He was employed by the New Mexico Highway Department for 25 years, retiring in 1976.
He is survived by a brother Clarence Hunter and spouse Inez of Las Cruces; a daughter, Helen Lassiter and husband Bob of Twin Falls, Idaho; four grandchildren, Neil Lassiter and wife Darlene of Twin Falls, Shelli Britan and husband Alex of Pearland, Texas, Robin Silvey and husband Joe of Twin Falls and Jeff Lassiter and wife Sherri of Boise, Idaho; son-in-law Mike Runyon of Garden Grove Calif.; 12 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Otho; two sisters, Frances Hill and Verna Chisum and a daughter, Lois Runyon.
The family wishes to thanks Glen Schweiger, Lee Ann Meadows, Yolanda Gallegos, Patricia Salas and Rumelda Estevane for the wonderful care they gave Clif in the last few years of his life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mesilla Valley Hospice, 299 E. Montana, Las Cruces, NM.
A visitation was held Monday, June 16, at Getz Funeral Home. Graveside services were held at the Hunter family plot in the Mountainair Cemetery in Mountainair on Tuesday, June 17, the Rev. Doris Jaquess of the Mountainair Christian Center officiated.

MARCIA ANN BOURQUE
Marcia Ann Bourque, 70, of Moriarty passed away June 26, 2008 in Albuquerque. Marcia was born July 21, 1937, in Dubuque, Iowa, to Eugene and Marie (McDermitt) Carmody. Marcia married Robert T. Bourque on Nov. 1, 1957; he preceded her in death in November 1994. She was also preceded in death by her parents and brother, Eugene Carmody Jr.
Marcia is survived by her son, Robert Bourque and wife Gina of Moriarty; daughters, Dawn Matthews and husband Michael of San Jose, Calif.; Nicole Miskey and husband Robert of Tacoma, Wash.; brother, Phillips Carmody of Albuquerque; six grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
As a young woman, she served in the Army as a nurse and stayed in nursing until a few days before she died. Marcia loved dogs and loved John Wayne; she will be dearly missed.

IVA LEOTA LANDON FRONABARGER
Iva Leota Landon Fronabarger, 89, of Stanley passed away peacefully June 30, 2008 in Albuquerque.
Iva was born Feb. 13, 1919, in Claude, Texas, to Joe and Nannie (Gist) Landon, both of whom preceded her in death. Iva married Jack Fronabarger on May 4, 1940, and they shared 57 years of happiness until Jack passed away in October 1997. One son, Jan Alan, preceded her in death on Sept. 18, 1985. Iva is survived by son Jerry and wife Rosemary of Annapolis, Md.; daughter Nancy Sowle and husband Dan of Stanley; daughter Judy Alderson of Houston; five grandchildren, Mark Sowle and wife Tina of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; Scott Sowle and wife Deanna of Albuquerque; Sharon Fronabarger of New Hope, Pa.; Bambi Alderson-Shields and husband Bill of Houston; Catherine Lott and husband Garen of Elgin, Ill.; one great-grandchild, Madelyn Sowle of Albuquerque; sister, Dorotha Dee Robertson of Albuquerque; sister-in-law Zoy Risinger of Knox City, Texas; many nieces, nephews and cousins, and a multitude of friends.
Iva was a schoolteacher in her earlier years. Iva taught typing, shorthand and bookkeeping at Stanley High School. She served as Stanley's postmaster for 45 years. Iva was a very active member in the Stanley Union Church, and served as church secretary for more than 59 years. She was a 50-year member of the Stanley Homemakers' Club, and a member and supporter of the New Mexico Barbed Wire Collectors Association and the Stanley Cemetery Association. Iva was a competitive player in card games and domino games such as 42, 84, Chickenfoot, Mexican Train and Shoot the Moon. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, watching “Jeopardy!” and “Wheel of Fortune” and was an avid reader. She enjoyed history and was known as the unofficial historian for the Stanley area. Two of her favorite annual events were the Stanley Homecoming in October and the church's annual pie auction on Old Fashion Day.
Iva was a kind-hearted, loving and generous person who touched the heart of everyone who knew her. She will certainly be missed by her many friends. A viewing will be held today at the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary Chapel in Moriarty from 3 to 6 p.m. A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 5, at 10 a.m. at the Stanley Union Church in Stanley, with Pastor James Thompson and the Rev. Richard Hyman officiating. Interment will follow at the Stanley Cemetery. Pallbearers are Mark Sowle, Scott Sowle, Bill Shields, Ed Robertson and Sam Loya. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Stanley Union Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 1, Stanley, NM 87056.

CHESTER MARVIN HENSON
Chester Marvin Henson, 90, of Moriarty passed away on July 1, 2008 at his home in Moriarty with his loving family by his side.
Marvin was born on February 15, 1918 in Forrest, N.M. to James Milton and Ola Christina (McBride) Henson. Marvin married Opal Mitchell in Albuquerque on February 28, 1946. She preceded him in death in 1995. He was also preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Elmer Henson and Lester Henson.
Marvin is survived by his son, Stanley Henson and wife Mary Lou of Moriarty; daughter, Lynne Murdock and husband Al of Moriarty; brothers, Otis Henson; Marion Henson; sister, Lottie Mae Beck; five grandchildren, Matthew Murdock and wife Odessa; Shannon Murdock-Miles; J.C. Burson and wife Jennifer; Chester Henson; Cody Henson and four great grandchildren, Adyson Miles; Lily Cerena Miles; Melissa Burson and Travis Burson. Funeral Services were held on July 3 at the First Baptist Church in Moriarty; Pastor Tom Schenk officiated. Interment followed at the Mountain View Cemetery in Moriarty. Pallbearers were Matthew Murdock, Chester Henson, Cody Henson, J.C. Burson, Travis Burson, Brad Miles and Melissa Burson. Honorary Pallbearers were all his friends and neighbors.

AUGUSTINE PEREZ
Augustine Perez, 81, joined the Lord in heaven on July 1, 2008.
Augustine was born on January 8, 1927 on the Victor Perez ranch near Encino. He was a US Army veteran and passed away at the Veterans Hospital in Albuquerque following complications from hip surgery. He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor Perez Sr. and Angelita T. Perez, and his brothers Victor Perez Jr. and Andres Perez.
Surviving family members include his brothers Ernest and wife Jewel of Encino, Cipriano and wife Corrine of Encino, sister Mercedes Cravens and husband LeRoy of Encino, sister-in-law Bobbie Perez of Santa Fe and numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great nieces, extended family members and friends.
Uncle Augustine lived his entire life on the Victor Perez Ranch where he loved taking care of the ranch cats, gathering eggs, tending to the lawn, watering the garden and trees and directing people about their chores. He was loved by his family and will be missed dearly. A rosary was recited July 6 at Our Lady of Guadelupe Catholic Church in Encino. A mass was celebrated July 7 at Our Lady of Guadelupe Catholic Church at noon. Interment followed at the Encino Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Melvin Perez, Victor L. Perez, Chris Perez, Larry Perez, Manu Patel, Clay Cravens and Mark Cravens. Father Steve Sanchez officiated. Harris-Hanlon Mortuary

ROBERT P. “BOB” FOSTER
Robert P. “Bob” Foster, 65, a resident of Albuquerque since 1973, passed away July 4, 2008.
He is survived by his wife, Treva Foster of Albuquerque; sons, Eric Foster of Albuquerque, Kurt Foster of Las Vegas, Nev., and Cody Hanson and wife, Cindy of Santa Fe; four grandchildren, Dylan and Audrey Foster, and Isabella and Cody James Hanson; brothers, John Foster and wife, Sylvia of Salida, Colo. and Jim Foster and wife, Karen of Howard, Colo.; four nieces, Diane, Christie, Myra, and Johnna; and special friends, Dianne and Romeo DiLallo.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Beryl Foster. He was born in Denver on February 14, 1943 and graduated from Salida High School. He served in the Army Security Intelligence Agency from 1962 to 1965. Upon his honorable discharge, Bob graduated from Southern Colorado State College in Pueblo, Colo. with a bachelor's in electrical engineering. He then pursued a career in insurance working for Fidelity Union and American General Insurance Companies and in 1978 became a State Farm Agent in Cedar Crest, retiring in 2000. Bob loved aviation, NASCAR, boating, fishing, spending time on his computer, and his little dog, Clancy. He served as Post Commander of the American Legion, was a founding member of the East Mountain Chamber of Commerce, and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. His greatest love was his family and his grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd., July 10, at 9 a.m. with Pastor Mark Waite officiating. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 7001 Menaul Blvd. NE, Suite 1-A, Albuquerque, NM 87110 and the Covenant of Grace Building Fund, P.O. Box 2099, Edgewood, NM 87015.

JERALD OLIVER HAUGE
Jerald Oliver Hauge, age 67, longtime resident of the Albuquerque area, passed away at sunrise, surrounded by his wife and children, on July 7, 2008. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Elizabeth (Betty); children Eric Hauge, Joseph Hauge, Jennie and Garrett Robinson and their children Sarah and Karen, Samuel and Misty Hauge and their son, Devon, Robert and Cheryl Hauge and their children, Thade, Tristen, and Dylan, JoAnne and Nathan Bishop and their children, Trenton, and Kara, and Rebecca Hauge. He is also survived by three sisters; Shirley Oines, Betty Hauge, and Judy and Al Lynch, and one brother, Arlan and Katherine Hauge, and several nieces and nephews.
Jerald was born on April 14, 1941 in Lac qui Parle County, Minn. to the late Salmer and June Hauge. He served his country as a Green Beret in the United States Army from 1963-1966. Jerald was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church where he held many leadership positions including council president. He was a strong man and his joy was his family. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staffs of Ambercare Hospice and St. Catherine Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.
A visitation will be held on Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at French Mortuary-Lomas Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church. Public visitation at the church will begin at 10 a.m.

HAZEL EARLENE BURTON
Hazel Earlene Burton, 72, of Corona passed away July 8 at her home with her loving family beside her.
Hazel was born August 27, 1935 in Clovis, N.M. to Charles and Dorothy (Taylor) Koch. Hazel married Robert Henry (Bob) Burton on March 15, 1955 in Ft. Sumner, N.M. The strength and magic of their 53 year marriage and love story continues to inspire their family and friends.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Corona, the Corona Senior Citizens, the Cedarvale Quilting Club and the American Legion Auxiliary. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Dorothy Koch. She is survived by her husband Bob; son, Clay Burton of Corona; daughters, Shirley Jay and husband John of Garland, Texas; Sherry Flowers of Blythe, Calif.; Shelly Swanson and husband Steve of Littleton, Colo.; stepbrother Dellis Upton of Portales; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and two on the way.
A viewing was held July 12 at the First Baptist Church in Corona. Funeral services followed with Pastor Cal West officiating. Interment followed at the Corona Cemetery. Pallbearers were Darren Kunkel, Kyle Swanson, Chase Burton, Lance Swanson, Chisum Burton, Jeff Kunkel and Craig Swanson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Steve Swanson, John Jay, Hal Dunmar, Jack Rutledge, Mike Beatty and Paul Porter.
