GEORGE ROGERS CALLAHAN
George Rogers Callahan, 55, a longtime resident of Edgewood, passed away Feb. 20 after a short illness.
George was born Oct. 24, 1949, to James M. and Virginia Callahan in Hawaii. He was a proud retiree of the U.S. Forest Service, where he ran a hot shot crew, and a decorated combat veteran of Vietnam, where he proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine. His enthusiastic love and enjoyment of the outdoors was legendary to all who knew him.
He was a loving husband of 27 years to Marcia Callahan of the home; adoring father and grandfather of Candace Rowton, her husband, Elijah, and their children, Hope Ethan and Abby of Albuquerque; and son Jeremiah Callahan, his daughter Jazmarie and son Ashlay Callahan. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Norris, her friend, Kerry Gammon, and her sons, Louis and Mark Gonzales, all of Denver; and a cherished and supportive extended family and friends.
A memorial and interment is Santa Fe will be held at a later date.

EDA MAE DAVIS
Eda Mae Davis, 91, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away Feb. 24 in Albuquerque.
Eda was born May 24, 1913, in Copan, Okla., and was raised along with three sisters and brother throughout Texas and Arizona.
After high school in Texas she moved to New Mexico and majored in elementary education at the University of New Mexico. It was at UNM she discovered her talent and passion for art and the Native American culture.
She married Bryant Perry Davis Sr. on Sept. 5, 1958. Eda was an accomplished businesswoman, and while raising her family opened and operated with her husband Walton's General Merchandise in Tijeras Canyon. During WWII she was given the privilege of making sandwiches for "the soldier boys" and served as postmaster for a time.
Eda had a passion and love for humanity, and a strong spiritual life and love for the Lord. Her family often claimed she had a "hot line to God." Eda was a proud member of the Desert Club and celebrated over 40 years of sobriety in AA. Eda was instrumental in starting up several AA meetings in Albuquerque, including the first Alateen group for teens of alcoholic parents.
Eda has left a legacy of wisdom, hope and, above all, love. She will sorely be missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Kay Lee of Tijeras; sister, Mona L. Parker of Pleasanton, Texas; two grandchildren, Bert and wife Suzi Shilling and Vanessa Kay and husband Joseph Pacheco; four great-grandchildren, Richard Pacheco, David Pacheco, James Pacheco and Tavanna Christy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mabel (Carter) Richardson; her husband, Bryant; granddaughter, Tara Christy; great-grandson, Charles Albert Christy, III; son-in-law, Bob Lee; one brother; and two sisters.
A memorial service was held March 2 at the First Baptist Church of Tijeras. Burial followed at the Fairview Cemetery in Albuquerque.

GERTRUDE B. BOEHM
Gertrude B. Boehm, 68, of Alamogordo died Sunday at Mountain View Medical Center in Las Cruces.
She was born May 18, 1936, in Bonn, Germany, and had lived in Alamogordo since 1991.
Survivors include three daughters, Inge Bishop of Los Angeles, Angie Hughes and her husband Greg of Tularosa, and Janet Coburn and her husband Mike of Estancia; and six grandchildren, Jason and Brandi Hughes of Tularosa, and Chelsea, Tyler, Haley and Spencer Coburn of Estancia.
Graveside services were conducted March 2 at Monte Vista Cemetery in Alamogordo with Father Timon Costello officiating.

ROBERT D. SAUCEDO
Robert D. Saucedo, 81, of McIntosh passed away March 2 at his home in the loving arms of his family.
Robert was born Jan. 27, 1924, in Serra, Calif. He married Esther Lucero on Nov. 14, 1942. Robert was a World War II veteran. He also was the local coordinator/ambassador for the AARP; the Torrance County coordinator for the Howard Dean presidential campaign; the Torrance County delegate to the New Mexico Democratic convention; and managed the New Mexico State commission of HUD.
Robert is survived by his special companion, Charlotte Campana of Ruidoso Downs; sons, Robert Cody Saucedo and Elizabeth Creason of Tijeras, and Steven Joseph Norris-Saucedo and wife Nancy of Aurora, Colo.; daughters, Victoria Roberta and husband Herb Schmidt of Albuquerque, Barbra Ann and husband Filiberto Pacheco of Albuquerque, and Michelle Marie and husband Larry Jones of McIntosh; brother, Fidel Saucedo; sisters, Bernice Aldridge and Dolores Giron; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther; and grandsons, Grant Montoya and Mason Saucedo.
A Rosary was recited March 6 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty. Funeral services were March 7 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel with Father Young officiating. Interment was at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

MELVIN LEE MORRIS
Melvin Lee Morris, 97, of Estancia passed away March 3 in Albuquerque.
Melvin was born Aug. 24, 1907, in Clovis to Thomas and Letha (Steelman) Morris. He had belonged to the Odd Fellows, the Torrance County Historical Society and he was very well known as "Mr. Estancia." Melvin was the one-handed man who rode a three-wheeled bicycle from Estancia to Moriarty. He also did this feat on his 90th birthday, going from Estancia to Moriarty and back to Estancia.
Melvin is survived by his brothers, Earnest G. Morris and wife Naomi of Edgewood, and Thomas R. Morris and wife Wanda of Estancia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Letha Morris; and three sisters, Ruby P. Coones, Goldine Rankin and Mary Alene Entley.
Melvin will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services were held March 8 at the Church of Christ of Estancia with Stanley Newton officiating.

AGNES HANSEN ROSS
Agnes Hansen Ross, 85, of Moriarty passed away March 8.
Agnes was born June 28, 1919, in Brooklyn, N.Y. She married Carl Anton Ross Sr. on Oct. 11, 1941, in Brooklyn. She was a member of the Salvation Army and a member of the First Christian Church in El Paso, Texas.
Agnes is survived by her sons, Carl Anton Ross Jr. and wife Patricia of Gurnee, Ill., Donald Richard Ross and wife Debra of Santa Teresa, N.M., and Bradley Charles Ross and wife Dorothy of Moriarty; sister, Hilda Weinhold of Staten Island, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Carl Anton Ross; parents, Otto and Alvina (Andreasen) Hansen; brother, Alfred Hansen; and sisters, Beatrice Hansen, Helen Larsen and Mildred Ruthowski. Agnes will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services were held March 14 at the Mount Hope Lutheran Church in El Paso. Interment was at the Fort Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso.
