DORA I. BUTLER
Dora I. Butler, 84, a longtime resident of Moriarty, passed away April 2, 2007.
Dora welcomed several young people who shared her home. She also held many dances and teen parties. Dora was a co-founder of the Bethel Community Storehouse of Moriarty. She was a school bus contractor for 30 years in the Moriarty school system as well as a member of the Order of the Rebekah. She lived on a ranch in Torrance County since 1928.
She is survived by her daughter, Susie E. Swope and husband Jack of Ute Park, N.M.; niece, Carlene Johnston and husband Dick of John Day, Ore.; grandson and longtime caretaker, Ken Chancellor and wife Rose of Moriarty; grandchildren, Kathy Potter, Eileen Aguirre, Mary Higgins, Jackie Foster, Ben Swope; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C. T. Butler; and son, Pat Butler.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. April 21 at Bethel United Methodist Church in Moriarty. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Community Storehouse, P.O. Box 968, Moriarty, NM 87035.

JOANN SITTON
JoAnn Sitton, 63, passed away April 4, 2007 at her residence.
She was born Aug. 18, 1943, in Mountainair to Guy and Lizzie (Norman) Toler. JoAnn was an LVN and was of the Church of Christ and Baptist faiths.
Survivors include her daughter, Staci Donnette Lee and husband William Raleigh Lee of Harper, Texas; sons, Bryan Ray Stovall of Kerrville. Texas, and Royce Alan Stovall of San Antonio; sisters, Linda Reynolds of Levelland, Texas, Betty Jean McMillan of Levelland and Patricia Sepulever of Las Cruces; brothers, Bill Toller and wife Jan of Mountainair and Jimmy Maxwell of Aztec, N.M.; grandchildren Brianna and Morgan Stovall of San Antonio and Dilan and Wyatt Lee of Harper.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Bobby Toler, on Nov. 26, 1974.
Services were held Saturday at Grimes Funeral Chapel in Kerrville, with Pastor Michael Weaver officiating. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Assembly of God Campgrounds in Mountainair. Interment followed at the Mountainair Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Vista Care Hospice, 1001 Water St., B-100, Kerrville, TX 78028 or to the Wild Ride Ministries, PO Box 549 Harper, TX 78631.

JOHN "VIRGIL" LATTER
John "Virgil" Latter, 85, a longtime resident of Edgewood, passed away Dec. 31, 2006.
Virgil was born in Ashland County, Ohio, on Sept. 18, 1921. He was a decorated D-Day veteran of World War II.
A private, family service was conducted in Coolidge, Ariz., on Jan. 3, 2007. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mountain View Cemetery.

CRUCITA OTERO
Crucita Otero, 94, of Mountainair passed away April 8, 2007 in Albuquerque.
Crucita was born May 3, 1912, in Pinos Well, N.M., to Leandro and Anita (Chavez) Salas. Crucita married Eusebio Otero, who preceded her in death in 1967. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Lupe Padilla and Maggie Salas, and brother, Tony Salas.
Crucita was a member of the Sacred Heart Society, the Altar Society and various other organizations associated with St. Alice Catholic Church. She also served in city elections.
Crucita is survived by her sons, Neddie and wife Melba Otero, Raymond and wife Julie Otero, Edward Otero, Chris Otero, Robert Otero and Ernie Otero; daughters, Margaret and husband Sid Padilla, and Alice Otero; brother, Toby and wife Nellie Salas; sister, Lou Lopez; 24 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
A Rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. today at St. Alice Catholic Church in Mountainair, with Mass following and the Rev. Ron Stone officiating. Interment will follow at the Mountainair Catholic Cemetery.

VIOLA MAE SOLOMON
Viola Mae Solomon, 89, of Estancia passed away April 8, 2007 in Estancia.
Viola was born April 12, 1917, to August and Wanda (Hurzog) Schultz in Cimarron, Kan. Viola married Chan E. Solomon on Dec. 20, 1937, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 11, 1961.
Viola is survived by her sons, Olin and wife Kitty Solomon of Estancia and Gayln W. Solomon of Estancia; daughter-in-law, Shirley Solomon of Ewing; brother, Wayne Schultz; sisters, Wanda and husband Ray Morris of Estancia, and Amelia and husband Bob Shield; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, James Solomon; brothers, August Schultz, Forrest Schultz, Pete Schultz and Andy Schultz; and great-granddaughter, Brandy Crider.
Services were held Wednesday at the Assembly of God Church in Estancia with Pastor Michael Dominguez officiating. Interment followed at the Estancia Cemetery.

TERESA T. SANCHEZ
Teresa T. Sanchez, 85, of Punta De Agua passed away April 12, 2007 at her home in Punta De Agua.
Teresa was born July 1, 1921, in Progreso, N.M., to Jose Antonio and Juanita (Ballejos) Torres. Teresa married Tobias Sanchez on Nov. 27, 1937. He died in 1965.
Teresa is survived by her sons, Vivian Sanchez and wife, Ester, of Albuquerque, Mario A. Sanchez of Albuquerque, and Claud Sanchez and wife, Brenda, of Elkhart, Kan.; daughters, Cecila Chavez and husband, Jose, of Torreon, Dolores Lopez and husband, Orlando, of Manzano, and Carla Lucero and husband, Frank, of Mountainair; brothers, Fermin Torres of Barstow, Calif., and Eloy Torres of Punta De Agua; sisters, Elvira Gonzales of Punta De Agua and Mary Abeyta of Santa Fe; 20 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Toby Sanchez; daughter, Cora Alderete; brother, Daniel Torres; and sister, Oralia Chaon.
A rosary was recited Sunday and Mass was held Monday at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Punta De Agua, with Father Ron Stone officiating. Interment followed at the St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Punta De Agua.

IRENE G. HODGIN
Irene G. Hodgin, 87, of Williamsburg, N.M., passed away April 15, 2007 in Williamsburg.
Irene was born Oct. 3, 1919, in Grants Pass, Ore., to Jesse J. and Maggie (Cline) West. Irene married Harvey Hodgin on July 5, 1938, in Mountainair.
Irene is survived by her husband, Harvey Hodgin; sons, Lonnie Hodgin and wife, Jonnie, Joe T. Hodgin and wife, Sarah Lee, Hodgin, and Ralph Hodgin and wife, Kathy; daughter, Ilene Hodgin and husband, Charles; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandsons, Michael Hodgin, Jimmy Hodgin and Steven Hodgin; brothers, Glen West and Carl West; and sister, Hazel West.
A viewing will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary Chapel in Moriarty. Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Mountainair with Rev. Tim Farkas and Rev. John Irvin officiating. Interment will follow at the Roundtop Cemetery in Mountainair.
