ROBERT DEAN CHACEY
Robert Dean Chacey, 58, of Moriarty, passed away Jan. 8, 2008, at his home in Moriarty with his loving family beside him.
Robert was born May 1, 1949, in Aberdeen, Md., to Lester Parker and Mae (West) Chacey. Robert married Rita Daugherty on July 8, 1997. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother. He was a member of the New Mexico Gun Fighters Association, Albuquerque Bike Club and the Company B. Calvery. Robert is survived by his wife, Rita Chacey of Moriarty; son, Adam Chacey and wife Reiko of Maryland; stepson, Donne Chase of Albuquerque; daughter, Alyssia Chacey of Albuquerque; and stepdaughter, Melanie Keithley of Albuquerque. A Memorial Service was held Jan. 14 at the Old Town Plaza in Albuquerque; Pastor Michael Dominguez officiated. Burial will follow at the Little Big Horn Cemetery in Montana at a later date.

RICKY KRUSE
Ricky Kruse, 51, of Albuquerque passed away on Jan. 10, 2008, in Albuquerque.
Ricky was born January 29, 1956, in Springfield, Tenn., to Jack and Martha (Draughon) Kruse. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ricky is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Clark; Michelle Anderson; brother, James Wayne Carddock and sister, Tina Kay Taylor.

THOMAS "TOM" FREDRICK KLAPPER
Thomas "Tom" Fredrick Klapper, 60, of Moriarty passed away Jan. 8, 2008, in Moriarty.
Tom was born July 5, 1947, in Lockport, NY to Melvin and Elizabeth (Gallaway) Klapper. He was preceded in death by his father, stepfather, William Cole; and sister, Beth Arnold.
He was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church and worked on off-shore oil rigs.
Tom is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Jane Gallaway of Texas; friends, Kay and Andy Reed; brother, Guy Cole and wife Tammi of CA; sister, Bonny Stock and husband Leon of Estancia; Jan Caton and husband David of Texas and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services were held Jan. 13 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Estancia; Albert Hagan officiated. Pallbearers will be Jim Berlier, Larry Lawrence, Andy Reed, William Neufeld, Dan Cravens and Kenny Groves.

HELEN CATHERINE MORENO
Helen Catherine Moreno, 82, of Edgewood passed away Jan. 11, 2008, at home with her loving family beside her.
Helen was born Feb. 17, 1925, in Gallup, N.M., to John and Katherine (Plese) Mesich. Helen married Joseph Anthony Moreno who preceded her in death on Feb. 17, 2005.
She was also preceded in death by seven children Joseph Anthony, Joe Anthony, Judith Ann, David Michael, Gerald, Geralynn Maryann and Phillip Anthony, and her parents.
Helen moved to Edgewood and has lived there since 2002. Helen was a devoted wife and mother and was very active in the community. Helen supported girls softball in the early 1970s and helped coach the Babes softball team to victory.
She is survived by her daughter Philomena Allen and husband Gary of Edgewood; brothers, Tony Mesich and Joe Mesich; sister, Mary Ann Livingston, granddaughters, Jennifer Allen and Natalie Allen.
A wake was held at the home of her daughter, Philomena Allen, on Jan. 14, with Father Raymond Raney and Chaplain Roxroy Reid officiating. A funeral service was held Jan. 15 at the First United Methodist Church of Gallup, with pastor Layloni Drake officiating. Burial followed at the Sunset Memorial Park in Gallup.
Pallbearers were Gary Allen, Doc Livingston, John Mesich, Gilbert Moreno, Gary Mesich, Terry Mesich, and Floyd Kezele. Honorary Pallbearers were Charles Starkovich, Steve Starkovich, Joe Mesich, and Michael Kezele.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Zia Fund, The Alzheimer's Fund and Care Net.

MARY D. CALIZ
Mary D. Caliz, 79, of Edgewood passed away Jan. 15, 2008 at her home with her loving family beside her.
Mary was born Aug. 10, 1928, in Madrid, N.M., to Felix and Candelaria (Sanchez) Montoya. Mary married Tom J. Caliz in Cerrillos. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mary is survived by her husband Tom Caliz; son, Christopher Castellanos; daughters, Eva Ariaga and Bernice Boike; grandchildren, Rachel, Joann, Chris, Kenny and Halei; and great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Deante, Elijah, Jaden, Charlie and baby Castellanos.
A rosary and Mass were recited Jan. 18 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Edgewood; Father William Young officiated. Interment followed at the Mountain Valley (Barton) Cemetery. Pallbearers were Charles Ariaga, Christopher Castellanos, Benny Jaramillo, George Gonzales, Kenny Boike and Kenneth Boike. Honorary pallbearers were Elijah Castellanos, Deante Bailey, Jaden Gonzales and Charles Thomas Gonzales.

RHEA ELAINE NORTHCOTT
Rhea Elaine Northcott, 78, was born June 28, 1929, in Mountainair to James Nathan and Fannie Mae Hollon.
Rhea passed from this life on Jan. 7, 2008. She married Jimmie Northcott in 1950. She was a caring wife and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by: five daughters, Shirley Hunn and husband James, Debbie Ray and husband Mike, Janice Bayer and husband Michael, Myra Kretzschmar and husband Bert, and Robin Wood; one son, Robert Northcott and wife Peggy; sixteen grandchildren, Frances, Tommy, Daphne, Chris, Jennifer, Melissa, Holly, Becky, Jordyn, Tyler, Heath, Mandy, Sarah, Briana, Whitney and Carissa; one sister; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and all other brothers and sisters. She will be greatly missed and remembered by all.
A memorial service was held Jan. 10 at 10 a.m. at the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary Chapel in Mountainair. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Presbyterian Hospice, 8300 Constitution Place NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110.

MARK "STONEY" A. ELKINS III
Mark "Stoney" A. Elkins III, 47, of Estancia passed away Jan. 16, 2008 at his home in Estancia with his loving family beside him.
Stoney was born Oct. 19, 1960, in Albuquerque to Mark "Bud" and Jean (Clawson) Elkins Jr. Stoney married Kevin Lynn Hill in Grants on April 27, 1985. Stoney was a member of the USTRC and on the Board of Directors of NHRA (cutting director).
He was preceded in death by his father and his sisters, Maud Elkins and Betsy Wengert. Stoney is survived by: his mother, Jean Elkins of Bluewater, N.M.; wife, Kevin Elkins of Estancia; sons, Marcus Kale Elkins of Estancia and Gralyn James Elkins of Estancia; brother, Levi Elkins of Ramah, N.M.; and sisters, Judy Elkins of Waterflow, N.M. and Thelma Jo Elkins of Bluewater.
Funeral services were held Jan. 19 at the Estancia High School gym in Estancia; Jim Elkins officiated. Pallbearers were Art Dunlap, Troy Lamb, Randy Coil, John Massengill, Billy Townsend, Joe Hall, Eddie Stanfield, Charlie Scalva and Logan Wengert. Honorary pallbearers were New Mexico High School Rodeo Association directors, members and parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the New Mexico High School Rodeo Association, Lori Dearing, 22 Cheryl Lane, Belen, NM 87002; (505) 864-7913.
