MATTHEW ANTONUCCI
Matthew Antonucci died Nov. 29, 2000, in Las Vegas, Nev., after a brief illness.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Marie and James Craig, who were long-time residents of Los Alamos; and grandchildren, Catherine Craig Hooper and Matthew Craig.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000.

GRACE WALLACE PATTERSON
Grace Wallace Patterson, 86, died peacefully Jan. 20, 2001, at the home of her son, Charles Patterson, after an extended illness.
She was born April 25, 1914, in Columbia, Miss. She graduated from Whitworth College in Brookhaven in 1932. She retired from Citizens Bank in Columbia, Miss., in 1978 after 30 years of service. She was head of the note department.
She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Wallace Benjamin Patterson; and by a son, Wallace Benjamin Patterson Jr.
Survivors include a son, Charles Patterson and wife Tina of Los Alamos; a daughter, Dr. Suzannah A. Patterson of Valdosta, Ga.; a grandson, Benjamin Patterson III of Meridian, Miss.; and three sisters, Ruth Patrick of Rio Rancho, Jeannette Nelson of Little Rock, Ark., and Helen Prewitt of Columbia, Miss.
Services were held Jan. 25, 2001, in Columbia.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Los Alamos Visiting Nurse Service.

NEIL SEELEY
Neil G. Seeley, 83, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003.
He was born April 13, 1920 in Denver, Colo. to William and Elizabeth Seeley. He married Margaret "Jean" Pratt in 1941 and they moved to Los Alamos in 1947 where he worked for the Pro Force.
He became a member of the Los Alamos Police Department where he worked for over 19 years and obtained the rank of Captain. While with the police department, he was one of only a few police officers around the country to be invited to the National FBI Academy Special Course Training Program. He graduated number one in his class. He was presented with a special award by J. Edgar Hoover - this was always one of his proudest moments.
Neil then worked for Los Alamos County as the Traffic Control Director. He did extensive research while completely rewriting the traffic ordinances for Los Alamos. He became the County Manager of Los Alamos and spent his last eight years in Los Alamos as County Manager. He retired in 1984 and took his work ethics and integrity to Albuquerque and with his son, Fred, worked in the real estate business.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Jean and daughter, Carol.
He is survived by his daughter, Charlene Goehl and her husband, Art of Alamosa, Colo.; son, Fred and his wife, Gina of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Mary Kaye Cottingham and her husband, Chuck, Amy Holman of Pueblo, Colo., Christopher and Jessica Seeley; great grandchildren, Dustin, Kyle, Dillon, Parker and Paige.
A rosary will be recited on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at French Mortuary - Westside Chapel, Albuquerque, with Deacon Bob Lewis reciting.
A memorial mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd. NW, Albuquerque, with Father John Conway, celebrant. Friends may visit on Wednesday at French Mortuary - Westside Chapel from 6 p.m. until time of rosary.

VIRGINIA MCGEHEE
Virginia McGehee, 88, of Gaithersburg, Md., formerly of Albuquerque, died Nov. 14, 2003.
She was born Mary Virginia Weinebrod, to Charles and Edna Weinebrod on Feb. 27, 1915, in Blue Island, Ill. In Blue Island, she graduated from High School and met her husband of 64 years, George McGehee. When he retired from Commonwealth Edison, they moved to Albuquerque, where they lived for almost 30 years. She loved Albuquerque for its climate, varied cultures, Southwestern food, State Fair and Balloon Fiesta.
She was foremost a loving mother and homemaker, who took great pleasure in decorating her home with many antiques, cooking fabulous meals, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a very social out-going person, who loved playing bridge and belonged to many clubs and organizations.
She is survived by a son, Dr. James McGehee and his fiancée, Jane Rooney of Gaithersburg, Md., and a daughter, Cheryl King and her husband, J. Daniel King, of Los Alamos, 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the sanctuary at Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church, 3900 Trinity Dr.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

ANDY SANCHEZ
Andres (Andy) Sanchez, 48, a resident of Los Alamos died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003.
He graduated from Los Alamos High School and later enlisted in the US Army in 1975. He briefly worked in construction, then pursued a career as a security officer at Los Alamos National Laboratory for 20 years. He was an avid skier and runner and loved the great outdoors. Andy was a very loving father, son and brother.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Pedro and Frutosa Sanchez; maternal grandparents, Felix and Aurora Fernandez and uncle, Leo Fernandez.
He is survived by his children, Mitzi Sanchez and significant other Errol Cohn of El Llano; Zach Sanchez of Los Alamos, Andrea Sanchez of Espanola, Anthony Sanchez of Espanola; parents, Dennis and Carol Sanchez of Los Alamos; brothers and sisters, Bobby and wife Isabel Sanchez of Cordova, LouAnn Gonzales and husband Albert of Los Alamos, Dwayne Sanchez and wife Reina and their children D.J. and Brenna all of Cordova, Marty Gonzales of Los Alamos and numerous aunts, uncles and many other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. A vigil service will be held today at 6 p.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Los Alamos. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003 at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church with interment to follow at the Guaje Pines Cemetery.

HUGH TUCKER
Hugh Byron Tucker, 92, a resident of Sun City West, Ariz., died Dec. 29, 2003 following a lengthy illness.
He was a long-time resident of Los Alamos and Espanola prior to moving to Arizona in 1994. He came to Los Alamos in the early 1940's as a part of the Manhattan Project and was employed by Los Alamos National Laboratory until his retirement in the mid-1970's.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Tucker of Sun City West, Ariz.; Dorothy's daughter Judy Penman and husband Douglas, of Valencia, Calif.; Judy's son, Jim Lamberto and wife Lisa, and their daughter Carli of San Ramon, Calif. Also surviving are his son and wife Jack and Gwen Tucker of Espanola; grandchildren Tad Tucker of Espanola and his daughter, Amanda Snow of Peoria, Ill.; Tammy Tucker and Lisa Woodrow, and their children Chloe, Tristan, and Milo of Nambe; Tracy and Richard Conner of Los Alamos; and Tim and Audra Tucker and their children Joshua, Justin, and Jayde.
He is also survived by brother and sister-in-law Buford and Ermal Tucker; nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Sue Tucker; his sisters, Polly Evans and Hontas Thurman, and brother-in-law, Woodson Bone.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 5, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Block-Salazar Mortuary in Espanola. Interment will follow at Guaje Pines Cemetery in Los Alamos.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of Christ Disaster Relief Fund, 2323 Diamond Dr., Los Alamos, NM 87544.

HUGH PAXTON
A memorial service for Hugh C. Paxton, who died Dec. 25, 2003, will be held at 1 p.m. at Fuller Lodge on Monday, Jan. 12.
Friends and family are invited.

Dr. John Spalding
Dr. John F. Spalding died Feb. 11, 2004, of congestive heart failure at the home of his daughter in Tijeras, N.M. He was 83. His family members were present.
John (Jake) Spalding was born in Nashua, N.H., on April 8, 1920.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Patricia Spalding of Sweetwater Texas, his brother Donald Spalding of Rye, N. H., his son David Spalding of New York, N.Y., his daughter Linda Fisher, her husband Steven, and grandchildren Jonathan, Edward and Caelan Fisher.
In his early years he was a chauffeur, private yacht chef, big game sport fishing guide, and coffee shop owner among other things.
Dr. Spalding was drafted into the Army and earned his wings to serve as a pilot in WWII, training in bombardiers in Texas. After the war, with the GI bill, he earned a BS degree in animal husbandry at university of New Hampshire and MS and a PHD in genetics at Texas A&M .
He came to Los Alamos to work for LASL in the early '50s to study the genetic effects of radiation. Spalding had been active in the Los Alamos Community and served as president of the school board.
All who knew him know that wherever he is, there's probably a tennis racket nearby, and he is smiling about something, family members report.
He will be buried in a private ceremony at the Santa Fe National War Veterans Cemetery on Tuesday, Feb. 17.
His memorial service will be at the United Church of Los Alamos on Thursday, Feb. 19, at 1 p.m.
