Dr. Wayne C. Weaver, Veterinarian, age 88, died Friday, March 22, 2002. He was a resident of Country Side Personal Care Home in Lehighton, PA. Dr. Weaver got his education at Ben Salem U.C.C., Lehighton, PA, 1931, Lehighton High School Graduate, University of Pennsylvania Veterinary Medicine in 1937. He opened his Veterinary Clinic for large and small animals in Andreas, Schuykill Co, PA from 1940 until 1981. He was a Life Member of PA Veterinary Medical Assoc; F.& A.M. Masons 621, Lehighton, PA; Rajah Temple of Reading, PA; West Penn Lions Member, where he was honored as Citizen of the year for West Penn Twp. 1981. He also received the Melvin Jones Fellowship award for Humanitarian Service in 1993. He was on the Board of Directors for Tri County State Bank Bowmanstown, Carbon Co., PA and American Bank & Trust Co., Tamaqua, PA. Dr. Weaver was preceded in death by; his father and mother, Clinton Daniel Weaver and Lulu Jane Weaver (Peters); his first wife, Luella Weaver (Miller); second wife, Edith Weaver (Snyder); and one great-grandchild, Rachel Weaver. He is survived by; two sons, Donald Weaver and wife, Sally, of Hatboro, PA, and Berdel Weaver and wife, Reta of Portales, NM; two daughters, Doris E. Sherman and husband, Richard of Montoursville, PA, and Cindy L. Nothstein and husband, Robert of Andreas, PA; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren; and companion, Myrtle Fritz. Visitation will be at Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, Inc., March 25, 2002 at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Service will be March 26, 2002 at 11:00 a.m., with Reverand Jeffrey P. Kistler officiating at Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, interment to follow at Ben Salem Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Country Side Personal Care Home, 814 Ben Salem Road, Lehighton, PA 18235.

Anna Florence Werlein was born on August 15, 1914, Pence, Wisconsin to parents, Charles and Mary (Bertolino) Blise. She married John Peter Werlein on May 9,1936 in Pence, Wisconsin. She was a homemaker. Anna is survived by; three daughters, Karen Barela and husband, Dino of Duncanville, TX, Marlene Sicking and Henry Moore, Jacqueline (Jackie) Werlein of Albuquerque, NM; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Audrey Blise; sister, Emma Matye of Kenosha, Wisconsin; and nieces and nephews, all of Kenosha, Wisconsin. Mrs. Werlein is preceded in death by; a sister, Jennie O'Berto, and a brother, Norman Blise. Mrs. Werlein attended schools in Pence and Hurley, Wisconsin. She resided in Wisconsin before moving to Albuquerque, NM in 1955, to Texas in 1985, where she has resided for the past eight years at Dalworth Nursing and Care Center, Arlington, TX. Memorial Service was held March 18, 2002 at Dalworth Care Center in Arlington, TX. Cremation with interment at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Albuquerque, NM. Arrangements by Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home in Grand Prairie, TX.

John V. Willems, 78, a resident of Albuquerque since 1956, died Wednesday, March 20, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Virginia 'Ginger' Willems of Albuquerque; son, Steven L. Willems and wife, Connie DeHerrera of Tijeras; daughter, Janice M. Willems of Sandia Park, NM; son, John H. Willems and wife, Kelly of El Paso, TX; six grandchildren; sister, Lila Miller and husband, Loren of Leesburg, FL; and sister-in-law, Vona Willems of Georgetown, TX. Services will be held Monday, March 25, 2002, 12:00 noon, at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Rev. Fred Whipple officiating. Interment will take place at 2:30 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Attn. Roberta Woods, 73, recently of Mesa, AZ, passed away Friday, March 22, 2002. She was born in New Market, Indiana in 1928. She moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1945, where she resided until 1999, when she moved to Mesa. She is survived by her son; Roger Woods of Mesa, her daughters; Leslie Myers of Mesa, Roberta Congrave of Los Lunas, New Mexico, Shirley Keith of Marion, North Carolina; two granddaughters, Lisa hood of Mesa, and Rayona Randolph of Marion, North Carolina; her companion and former husband, Robert Fisher of Mesa; and five great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 25, 2002 at Meldrum Mortuary.

Edward Lynch Amonette, born 9 April 1924, completed his life's journey on March 21, 2003, after a courageous 19-year battle with Parkinson's disease. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Bea; three children from his first marriage, James Edward Amonette of Richland, WA, Philip Michael Amonette of Silt, CO, and Elizabeth Rachel Amonette Walter of Salem, NH; two step-daughters, Maribeth Kilgore and Rebecca Sue Baumann; five grandchildren, Patricia Morgan Amonette, Reuben Amonette Garst, Jeannelle Anne Amonette, Anneliese Michelle Walter, and Katharina Christine Walter; six step-grandchildren, Scott Kilgore, Jason Kilgore, Shauna Torrez, Danny Torrez, Amanda Torrez, and Callista Torrez; and one great-grandchild, Kalob Defiance Amonette and one step-great-grandchild, Elijah Montoya. He was preceded in death by his sisters Hazel, Grace, and Louise, and by his first wife, Barbara Ann. Born in Lander, Wyoming, Ed grew up in Elko, Nevada and graduated from Elko High School in 1942. He was an Eagle Scout and supported scouting in many capacities during his life. He served as a meteorologist in the U.S. Army during the Second World War. After the war, he attended the University of Colorado, graduating with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked for several years at Sandia National Laboratories before going into business on his own as an electronic manufacturer's representative. He served as a Trustee for the Village of Los Ranchos de Albuquerque for many years, was executive director of the New Mexico Wildlife Federation for two years, and was an avid member of Toastmaster's International. Ed had a life-long love of the outdoors and spent much of his time camping, hunting, and fishing with his family and friends, often packing into the wilderness with a string of horses. For a number of years, he ran a guiding and outfitting business for hunters. He also kept a small ranch south of Mountainair, where he spent many wonderful times with family and friends. In his later years, he enjoyed writing short stories and poems, many of which reflected his dry, droll wit. A memorial service is planned for Tuesday, 4:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. James B. Ayers, 86, passed away peacefully early Monday, March 24, 2003. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Rosario Ayers. He is survived by his only daughter, Casey Schneider; four grandchildren, Jason and Travis Balderston, Paige and Delaney Schneider; two great-grandchildren, Skyler and Micah Balderston. He moved to Albuquerque in 1955 and retired from the Purchasing Department at Sandia Laboratories in 1980 after 23 years. Cremation and a private services will be held. the family wants to express their appreciation to the loving caregivers at Carefree Living, and to the staff of Presbyterian Home Healthcare. Herbert Earl 'Garth' Blakely, died Saturday, March 22, 2003 after a courageous battle with cancer. Garth was born in Philadelphia, PA on December 28, 1938 and lived in Albuquerque since 1964. He is survived by his daughter, Laurel Baird of Del City, OK; his son, Christopher Blakely of Moriarty, NM; and four grandchildren, Robert Montoya, Sydney Baird, Brandon Blakely and Chelsea Blakely. He is also survived by a sister, Joan Peoples of Berea, KY and two brothers, Bruce Blakely of Hugo, OK and Blair Blakely of Modesto, CA. Of special mention are Garth's two best friends, Lyn Carter and Mary Ann Calahan. His lifelong career as a pilot included service in the New Mexico Air National Guard's 188th Fighter Squadron. While completing 248 combat missions in Vietnam, piloting F-100's, he was awarded the Air Medal and The Distinguished Flying Cross Medal. Following military service, he retired after 30 years of service as a Continental Airline's pilot. The Family would like to give a Special Thanks to all the health professionals at St. Josephs radiation/oncology and Lovelace Health Systems for the care Garth received during his battle. Cremation has taken place and Private Services are scheduled. Memorial contributions can be made in his name to the charity of your choice.

Juan 'Johnny' David Casaus, 46, a lifelong resident of the Albuquerque area, passed away March 22, 2003. He is survived by his sons, Juan L. Casaus, Ambrosio Casaus, and Lucas Casaus; daughters, Angelina Casaus and Fallon Romero; grandchildren, Cisco Casaus, Andres Casaus, and Trinity Galindro; parents, Max and Carmen Casaus; brother Robert Casaus; sister, Margie Clark; and several nieces and nephews, all of Albuquerque. Mr. Casaus graduated from Valley High School in 1975 and received a Bachelors of Science in Education from UNM in 2000. He was active in working with the homeless. Juan enjoyed being in the mountains, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his family. A Memorial Rosary will be recited Tuesday, March 25, 2003, 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1860 Griegos Rd NW. There will be a reception following the Rosary at the Edelweiss German Club, 4821 Menaul NE. Joan Elizabeth (Wallace) Chapman, beloved mother and wife, passed into God's hands on March 24, 2003. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Walt; and their children and families, Mike, Beverly, and Billy of Santa Fe, and Cindy of Albuquerque; and by her brother, Ted Wallace of Fort Worth, Texas and all the Wallace families. Grandmother of six, her family was always most important in her life. She made people all around her feel a part of her family and opened her heart, home, and family to several foreign exchange students. Joan came to Santa Fe in 1966 with Walt to start their building company. She served as President of the Women's Division of the Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce for two terms, and was the first Women's Division President to serve on the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. She had a great love for travel, and animals. Throughout her life she was surrounded by the love of her dogs and cats. No one was ever turned away at her door. She shared her love and laughter with all those around her and wanted nothing but happiness for all she cared for. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. Memorial contributions may be directed to The Salvation Army. At this time, all service times are pending. Carl Boyd Davidson, Sr., 83, a resident of Albuquerque since 1951, died Saturday, March 22, 2003. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Opal Davidson of the family home; son, Carl Boyd Davidson, Jr.; daughter, Diana Davidson; grandchildren, Jason Willins, Scott, Curt and Chad Davidson, Crystal Holmes and Christine Thayer; great-grandchildren, Victoria, Dakota, Celeste, Stetson, Savannah, John and Kacie. Carl, Sr. was the owner and founder of Davidson Upholstery Supply. He started the business in Tulsa and then relocated the business to Albuquerque. Carl, Sr. was in the Hall of Fame of the Upholstery Business. Services will be held Wednesday, 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. E. Merle Miller, 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1977 and former resident of Bartlesville, OK, died Sunday, March 23, 2003. He is survived by his children, Mary Ann Miller of Cumming, GA; Betty Jean Blue and husband, David Williams of Edmond, OK; Rita Marie Miller and husband, Larry Erickson of Beaverton, OR; John Patrick Miller and wife, Lynn of Shelton, CT; Henry Harvey Miller of Firestone, CO; and Lori Lea Butler of Albuquerque; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and brother, Louis Miller of El Paso, TX. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frieda H. Miller and son, James Miller. Upon graduation from college, he was employed by Phillips Petroleum Company and retired from the same. They moved to Bartlesville, OK in 1947 and raised their family there. Phillips moved them to London, England in 1972. Merle and Frieda relocated to Albuquerque in 1977 where he retired. Mr. Miller was involved with the Stamp Club. He and his wife enjoyed playing bridge. He was a member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, March 26, 2003, 11:00 a.m., at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5310 Claremont Ave. NE. Cremation to follow service. James Robert Padilla, 44, a musician, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2003 in Arlington. Victoriana C. Pino, born in Alameda, passed away Saturday at the age of 90. Mrs. Pino was a member of the San Felipe de Neri Blue Army. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Elfego Pino. She is survived by one son, Pete Pino; five daughters, Carlota Sanchez, Beatrice Cochron, Jessie Montoya, Fabiola Salazar and husband, Joe, and Rita Pino-Vargas and husband, Julio; two brothers, Juan Chavez, and Prospero Chavez and wife, Stella; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mrs. Pino will be held on Tuesday at San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Pedro Chavez, Albert Ray Teupell, Bernie Sanchez, Eddie Sanchez, Johnny Ray Sanchez, Joseph Michael Salazar, Joey Gallegos and Steve Lucero.
