ROBERT BAROS, 43, of Santa Fe, died Sunday. He was a graduate of Santa Fe High School and a self-employed furniture maker and was last employed by the Santa Fe Public Schools. He was also a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Sadie Baros and Aurelia Bustos. He is survived by his parents, Nick and Percy Baros; daughter, Marla Gonzales; granddaughter, Kaylene Valencia; brothers, Ernie and wife Rosalie Baros, John and wife Liz Baros, Raymond and wife Emilia Baros, and Steve Baros and daughters Andrea, Briana and Chelsea; sisters, Dorothy and husband Mike Franco, Carol and husband Richard Poole, Patty and husband Hubert Runyan; and many other relatives. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Rosario Cemetery. Berardinelli Family Funeral Service.

BENIGNA R. SANDOVAL, 98, of Pecos and formerly of La Pasada, died Monday. She was born in El Macho on Jan. 28, 1904, to the late Romolo Roybal and Andreita Lucero Roybal. She was united in marriage in Pecos in 1932 to Reymundo Sandoval. A lifelong Catholic, she was a member of St. Anthony's Church in Pecos. She was preceded in death by her parents, Romolo and Andreita Roybal; husband, Reymundo Sandoval in 1959; children, Amado and Eduardo Gabaldon, Romolito Sandoval, Angelina Rodriguez and husband Fred; grandson, Valentino Sandoval; sisters, Flora, Frances, Isabel, Nemesia and Mercedes; brothers, Arculano and David Roybal; sons-in-law, Antonio Lujan and Tiburcio Sandoval. She is survived by her family, Eluteria Lujan of Pecos, Andrea Sandoval of Santa Fe, Margarita Lujan and husband Joe, Seferino Sandoval and wife Josie, Amy Gonzales and husband Marcos all of Pecos, Victoria Chavez of Los Angeles, and Sadie Quintana of Pecos; 50 grandchildren; 102 great-grandchildren; 48 great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild; special friend and caretaker, Manuela Enriquez of Pecos; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation and rosary for immediate family only will be at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the El Macho Church. Rosary devotional services will be at 8 p.m. Thursday at St. Anthony's Church in Pecos. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the same church with burial to follow at the St. Anthony's Cemetery in Pecos. Rogers Mortuary.

Juanita Constance Argo became a beautiful angel on September 24, 1999. Juanita was born in Enid, OK on March 1, 1908. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard (Pete) Argo. Juanita will be deeply missed by her loving family, Bernard and wife, JoAn Argo, and Betty and Dean Kern of Albuquerque, Jim and Anna Argo, Tempe, AZ, and her eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Monday, 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Strong-Thorne Mortuary. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, September 28, at 10:00 a.m. in Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne, 1100 Coal SE. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Steven Kern, Pete Argo, Sammy Argo, Bert Argo, Jesse Argo, Gene Sanmann, and Vince Urvanejo.

Seth C. Bark Jr., age 85, died Tuesday, September 21, 1999. He is survived by his many friends and by the patients he ministered to as a volunteer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Seth and Elizabeth Bark of Saginaw, Michigan, which was also his birthplace. Mr. Bark served in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1941 to 1945 and was the recipient of various decorations, including the Good Conduct Medal. In his early working years, he was office manager for several attorneys in Beverly Hills, California and knew many actors in the motion picture industry. He was later employed from the late sixties to 1984 by both First National and First Interstate Banks. The high point of Seth's life after retirement was volunteering for the UNM Hospital Cancer Research and Treatment Center, where he logged over 10,000 hours in Patient Services. Mr. Bark was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, where he was active in the Holy Name Society. He was also a past board member of the New Mexico Symphony, Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, and served on the Board of the Handicapped under Mayor Rusk. He will be remembered for his cheerful demeanor and helpful attitude to anyone needing counsel or assistance. Rosary will be recited Monday, September 27, 1999, 7:00 p.m., at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, September 28, 1999, 9:30 a.m., at St. Charles Church with Father Bob Chabot as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that contributions be made to the Cancer Treatment and Research Center at the University of New Mexico, 900 Camino de Salud NE, Albuquerque 87131.

Church Services for Jimmy Alan Cain, 28, of Wake Village, TX are scheduled Monday, 3:00 p.m., September 27, 1999 at the First Assembly of God Church, Muleshoe Texas, with Rev. Jack Stone, Pastor officiating.
Burial will be in the Oklahoma Lane Cemetery, Oklahoma Lane, TX. Jimmy died September 23, 1999 at East Texas Medical Center, Tyler, TX. He was born September 27, 1970 in Albuquerque, NM.
Jimmy was a correctional officer for the State of Texas working in the Choice Moore Unit in Bonham, TX for three years and the Teleford Unit in New Boston, TX. He had been a resident of Wake Village, TX for one year, moving from Bonham, TX. Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Cecil on August 23, 1972; a baby sister in 1968; and a brother, Rusty Cain in 1967.
He is survived by one daughter, Savannah LaRay of Wake Village, Texas; parents, Janice and Gene Snell of Muleshoe; grandmothers, Julia Symcox of Farwell and Opal Cain of Clovis, NM; three sisters, Linda Watson of Panama City, FL, Katrina Scott and Rebecca Price both of Muleshoe; six brothers, Gary Cain of Muleshoe, Andy Snell of Burleson, TX, Lincoln Snell of Weatherford, TX, Dennis Snell of Aledo, TX, Jessie Snell of Albuquerque, NM, and Douglas Snell of Wichita Falls. TX.

Homer LeeRoy Crumley, 92, a resident of Albuquerque since 1940, died Friday, September 24, 1999. He his survived by his son, Roy Crumley and wife, Jo; daughter, Vada Kammerer and husband, Floyd, all of Albuquerque; stepson, Dick Fent and wife, Gail of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, Gary Ross and wife, Wilma, Cheree Hitchcock, all of Albuquerque, Kathy Veta and husband, Steve of Vail, CO, Randy Fent and wife, Lynn of Springfield, MO, Brent Fent and wife, Angie and Casy Cunningham and husband, Troy all of Tulsa, OK; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Fern and Mable; and brothers, Albert Lee and Harold, all of Oklahoma. Mr. Crumley was preceded in death by his wife, Nettie Helen Crumley; wife, Myrle Isbell Crumley; and great-granddaughters, Angel Garcia, and Jazzmin Johnston. He was a member of Good Sam's Club; NRA and Navarre. Mr. Crumley retired from ATSF Railway after 51 years. Services will be held Tuesday, 11:00 a.m., at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, with Mr. Jack Sellars officiating. Entombment will follow at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Monday, 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Matthew Joseph Doyle born August 19, 1916 died September 25, 1999. Rosary will be Tuesday September 28, 7:00 p.m., at Fitzgerald & Sons Mortuary, 3113 Carlisle NE. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, September 29, 10:30 a.m., Sangre De Cristo, 8901 Candelaria NE.

Rodney (Rod) Dewyane Finnerson, 31, born in California on May 2, 1968 and a resident of Albuquerque passed away on September 23, 1999. Rodney is survived by his mother, Carolyn Finnerson; his girlfriend, Ilona Csanyi and her two daughters, Demesia and Celestina; children, Arrion, Alisha and LaKeisha; one sister, Kimberlyn L. Finnerson; one niece, Brandy Nekia Gross; two aunts; three uncles; and a host of cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Finnerson. Rodney graduated from Luzinger High School in 1986. In Rodney's full but short life he touched many lives and he will be missed greatly by all. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Dr., SW with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Gabaldon Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Ernestine Gutierrez will be held on Monday at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Burial will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:00 p.m. Arrangements by the Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 Third St. SW.

Frank A. 'Cuervo' Jaramillo, 69, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, September 23, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Prudy Jaramillo of Albuquerque; daughters, Marie Cordova, Sylvia Maestas and husband, Steve, Barbara Gonzales and fiancee, Rigo Romero, and Wanda Arellano and husband, Ray; sons, Martin Jaramillo, Joe Jaramillo, Richard Jaramillo and wife, Bonnie and Ben Lopez and wife, Sally; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Henry Jaramillo and wife, Priscilla and Paul Jaramillo and wife, Betty; sisters, Lucy Candelaria and Placida Lovato, all of Albuquerque; and many other family members and friends. Mr. Jaramillo was preceded in death by his grandson, Richard Jaramillo; and son-in-law, Richard Cordova. He was a parishioner and an usher at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Mr. Jaramillo was a member of the American GI Forum. He worked for the City of Albuquerque and retired after 36 years. After his retirement he worked as a school crossing guard at Monte Vista Elementary. Rosary will be recited Sunday, 5:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Mass will be celebrated Monday, 10:30 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 619 Copper Ave. NW, with Father Francis Renfroe, S.J., Celebrant. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be Raymond Arellano, Isaac Arellano, Joseph Jaramillo, Adam Gonzales, Adrian Gonzales, Joseph Lopez, Jesus Maestas and Christopher Jaramillo. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Sunday, 2:00 p.m. to Rosary.

Carmen (Shortie) Medina, a resident of Albuquerque for 40 years, passed away September 25, 1999, after a long illness. Mrs. Medina was born in Morenci, AZ in 1921. She was a retired nurse from the V.A. Hospital. Mrs. Medina is survived by a daughter, Rose Marie Medina; two sons, Alfred (Jimmy) Medina and Danny (Dino) Medina; daughter-in-law, Jeanne; five grandchildren, Sandy Sanchez, Judy Medina, Jerry Ullom, and Jessica and Amanda Medina; two great-grandchildren, Daniel and Chelsea Sanchez. Rosary will be recited, Tuesday, 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1860 Griegos Rd. NW. Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, with Fr. Edith I. Mitchell, 82, a resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, September 26, 1999. Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her daughter, Donna Holben of Dallas, TX; sister, Edna Harper of Tulsa, OK; brother Bernard Bryan of Kilgore, TX; two nephews and one niece; very close friends, Randy and Bonnie Maldonado; and special grandkids, Felicia and Adan Maldonado, all of Albuquerque. Services will be held Tuesday, 1:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE., with Pastor Joyce Lieberman officiating.

ELMER SCHULTZ
1914-1999
Mr. Elmer Schultz, 85, born in Coy, Oklahoma passed away Friday. He had been a resident of Belen since 1974. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Army 9th Infantry Division. He fought in North Africa, Sicily and at the Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded the Purple Heart and other military honors. Elmer retired from farming in Kansas and later from Lovelace Animal Research Center in Albuquerque. He loved his family and friends and especially kids. Elmer enjoyed the outdoors, farming animals and horse racing.
Mr. Schultz had 16 brothers and sisters, he was number 17, the baby of the family. He is survived by his children, Ralph Schultz and his wife, Loretta of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Tom Ferguson and his wife, Carole of McPherson, Kansas, and Gary Ferguson and his wife, Karen of Los Lunas; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Schultz will lay in state Monday from 10:00 a.m. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Riverside Funeral Care Center of Los Lunas. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Albuquerque with Pastor Winfred Walker officiating. Arrangements by Riverside Funeral Care Center of Los Lunas 865-1386.

Alexandria Nicole Arceo, 7 years, a resident of Las Vegas NV, passed away peacefully at home in the arms of her loving family on September 22, 2000. Alexandria is survived by her parents, Cleto & Shiela Arceo; two sisters, Danielle and Elizabeth Arceo; grandparents, Abel and Mary Vigil of Espanola, Cleto Arceo, Sr. of Albuquerque; uncles, Lazaro Vigil, Nestor and Bentio Arceo; aunts, Christina and Raquel Vigil, Diana Arceo; and many other loving family members. A memorial service will be held Oct 1, 10:45 a.m., at the Vista Grande Church, located at San Antonito Elementary School, 1255 N. Hwy. 14, Sandia Park, NM.

Helen J. Bennett, of Santa Fe, passed away gently at the home of her sister, Barbara J. Munley of Rio Rancho, on September 25, 2000. Helen exuded grace and dignity throughout her illness. Helen was born in New York City, NY to the late Krykeis Pitsilldis and Pauline Urbaniwiez Pitsilldis Tillman. The family relocated to Dickson City, Pennsylvania. Helen graduated from Dickson City High School with high honors. She earned a Paralegal certificate from the New York University, New York, New York. Helen graduated Suma Cum Laude from St. Peters College, Jersey City, New Jersey, with a Bachelors degree in English Literature. Further, she obtained her Masters degree in English Literature from the University of Scranton, Scranton, Pennsylvania. Helen's great passions were extensive world travel and the performing arts. She was an accomplished pianist, and ballroom dancer. Early in her career, Helen was a dance instructor fro Arthur Murray. Together Helen and Arthur Murray introduced the cha-cha in New York City. Helen moved to Santa Fe ten years ago. She became an avid bridge player and was a member of the ACBL. She served as secretary and was a member of the Guild Board of the Santa Fe Opera. She was also a member of the Santa Fe Women's Club. Those who had the good fortune to know Helen were inspired by her keen intellect, quick wit, passion for life, and her unfailing loyalty and devotion to family and friends. Her memory will be cherished. In addition to her sister, Barbara, Helen is survived by her son, Gerald, daughter-in-law, Elliott Dodson Bennett, granddaughter, Caley Dodson Bennett, and grandson, Cooper Alexander Bennett. Gerald's family resides on Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts; a brother, Laurence C. Tillman of Narragansett, Rhode Island; and sister, Cynthia C. Wetherill of Scranton, Pennsylvania. Helen is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family wishes to recognize, with heartfelt gratitude, the outpouring of love and assistance from family, friends, Sangre De Cristo, and Sandia Hospice and its staff. Special recognition to Helen's loving and dedicated companions, Susan Jacques and Zerri Waters. In lieu of floral arrangements, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Sandia Hospice. Memorial services will be held at Quail Run Country Club, 3101 Old Pecos Trail, Santa Fe, NM, Thursday, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., with Chaplain Paul Gleason officiating. There will be a reception following. There will also be a memorial service in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Interment will take place at Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst, Pennsylvania. French Mortuary,-Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW.
