Wanda Bouffard, 73, a lifetime resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, September 25, 2000. Ival W. Brick, born May 18, 1939 in Aberdeen, South Dakota, passed away September 21, 2000, in the loving arms of his family. He lived in the Albuquerque area since 1960. Preceded in death by his mother, Caroline. He is survived by his father, Delbert W. Brick; his loving wife, Sharon L. Brick; three children, Monica R. Rolan and husband, Travis, Daniel W. Brick and Jenelle Brick; six grandchildren, Tisha, Raquel, Amber, Stephanie, Zachary and Tyler Brick; brother, Carroll L. Brick and wife, Patricia; three sisters, Wanda Barnhart and husband, Ralph, Laureen Fuller and husband, Michael, Peggy Anderson and husband, Charles. He served in the USAF for four years at Kirtland Air Force Base, and owned and operated SHIB, Inc., an environmental and geotechnical drilling company. He was a member of St. Timothy's Lutheran Church. Bruce Richard Cameron, 45, died at home on September 23rd of a heart attack. He was born March 13, 1955 to Virginia and Charles D. Cameron Sr. and was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque. Charles D. Cameron Sr., his father; Bud and Stella Fischer, his grandparents; Tina Caponera, his aunt, preceded him in death. He is survived by his mother, Virginia Cameron; sisters, Char and Kathy Cameron; brother, Chuck Cameron; his beloved niece, Chelsea Cameron; aunt and uncle, Theresa and Marv Kortum; great-uncle, Richard Caponera; aunt, Phyllis Caponera; beloved family friend, Peggy Hughes; and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He graduated from Eldorado High School in 1973, where he played shortstop on the baseball team. He honorably served his country for six years in the AirForce. After leaving active service he pursued his education as a machinist and was employed by Tigon Corp. He spent his happiest times at Lake Vallecito, Colorado, where he fished and hung out with his friends, Dutch, Lester, Dave, Sam, Gary, and Travis, and had just built a home; at work with his close friends, Kevin, Don, Greg, Russ, Scott, Kim, Mark, and Rich; with his best friends, Mike and Marie Vinning, and Kevin McCants; and his happiest times were the times spent with his niece, Chelsea, whom he was a surrogate father to. His love, laughter, spirit and devotion will be missed. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2000, at Prince of Peace Catholic Community, 12500 Carmel NE. Don J. Cummings passed away September 25, 2000 in Grand Junction, Colorado after a short illness. He was born in Ames, Oklahoma on May 6, 1920. He was married in 1943 to Neva M. Paine in Oklahoma. He worked in the World War II effort in Hartford, Washington. From there he worked in the construction of Los Alamos Laboratories. Then in 1955, he and his wife moved to Albuquerque to open a business, supplying building materials to contractors. His corporation, Don J. Cummings Co., was subsequently sold to his son, Bob, who renamed it Commercial Door and Hardware. Don, with his wife, Neva, retired to Colorado in 1977. Mr. Cummings is survived by his wife, Neva Cummings of Gunnison, CO; his son, Bob Cummings of Phoenix, AZ; and his daughter, Judy Smith and husband, Warren of Sacramento, CA. He is also survived by two brothers, Millard Cummings of Enid, OK, Verlin Cummings of Albuquerque; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Bernice Cummings; one brother, Alfred Cummings; and one sister, Neva Neal. There will be a memorial service at Gunnison Community Church in Gunnison, Colorado on Thursday, September 28, 2000 at 3:00 p.m. There will be a final memorial service, October 21, 2000 in Enid, Oklahoma. Cremation was done by Callahan-Edfast Mortuary of Grand Junction, Colorado.

During the early morning hours of Sunday, 'Margie' Engelbrith, a widow, sister, mother, and most importantly, a grandmother, died in her daughter's home; a deeply loved woman. She will no longer be afraid. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Engelbrith. She is survived by her children, Dale Heidorn and wife, Lorraine, Sue Ferreira and husband, Edmund, Lorie Vaughn and husband, Ronald; grandchildren, Margie 'Sissy ', Nathan, Kelly, Matthew, Shane and 'Little' Matthew. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Evans and wife; and sister, Barbara Jean McKeel; along with many nieces, nephews and friends. She will be forever missed, loved, and remembered.
Viola R. Erickson, age 86, a resident of Albuquerque, died at her home, Tuesday. Sister Sophia Marie Fiedor died on Saturday, September 23, 2000, at the Felician Sisters Convent in Rio Rancho. She was born on November 21, 1913 in Chicago, Illinois, to Francis and Angela (Slusarz) Fiedor. Sister Sophia served in Religious Life for 68 years as a Felician-Franciscan. She held a Master of Arts degree from Loyola University in Los Angeles, California, and ministered in elementary and high school education as principal and teacher for 55 years in Illinois, California, Oklahoma, and Nebraska. In her retirement, she provided spiritual care to the ill and infirm sisters of the convent in Rio Rancho with wisdom and compassion. She was preceded in death by her parents; and by six brothers, Alexander Fiedor, Matthew Fiedor, Wally Fiedor, Eugene Fiedor, Joseph Fiedor, and Leonard Fiedor. She is survived by a brother, Chester Fiedor of Chicago, IL; and a sister, Theresa Gula of Mokena, IL. A Wake service will be held at 4:30 p.m., and a Rosary service at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2000 at the Felcian Sisters Convent in Rio Rancho. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the convent at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2000 with interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Louis W. Gonzalez was born May 4, 1921 in Chihuahua, Mexico, and in 1923, the family moved to Los Angeles, California. Lou attended Elementary and High Schools in California and studied Law at U.S.C. He was inducted into the Army in 1942 and in February, 1943, while in the service, he became an American citizen. Lou served overseas in the Pacific area, and in 1946, holding the rank of Sergeant, he was honorably discharged from the army. After a successful career in insurance and sales, he joined the United States Veterans Administration. He worked for Uncle Sam in Los Angeles, Puerto Rico, and from there was transferred to New Mexico. He served as veteran's benefits specialist and rose to Chief of the Veterans Service Division and in May of 1985 he retired. After this, he volunteered at the V.A. hospital as a part-time employee with the V.F.W., then coming out of retirement, became a full-time employee from 1995- 1997. Becoming a Mason in 1977, he served as Worshipful Master of Temple Lodge #6, past Grand Commander of the Grand Commandery of NM, most illustrious Grand Master of the Grand Council of Royal & Select Masters of N.M., Grand King of the Royal Arch Masons of NM, Past Sovereign of the Red Cross of Constantine, past Master, Lodge of Research, Grand Governor of Sovereign College of North America, Scottish Rites, Shriners. In the Scottish Rites, he was coroneted with the 33rd degree. He was instrumental in securing funding to those in need of medical services from the Eye Foundation. The focus of his life after retirement was in community service with the following organizations: President of American Red Cross, Olsten Health Services, La Zarzuela de Albuquerque; Vice-President of the Lions Club; Board Member of Shelter for Victims of Domestic Violence, Private Industry Council, March of Dimes; and member of AMVETS Post #7, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2951, and American Legion Post #99. Please keep details in as much as possible, regardless of cost as they are very important to us, especially the Masonic details. Stephan Lloyd Lenz was born February 2, 1965 in Albion, Nebraska and graduated from Bonner Springs High School in 1983 in Bonner Springs, Kansas. He attended Longview Community College for two years, from 1983 to 1985, at Lee's Summitt, Missouri. He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Tina Sheafer Lenz; and two children, Lloyd Edwin Lenz II, age 9, and Amelia Joy Lenz, age 6. Also surviving are his sisters, Khrystina Lenz of Prairie Village, KS and Alicia Lenz of Fredricksburg, VA; both parents, Glenn and Robert Lenz of El Paso, TX; as well as his paternal grandfather, Lloyd Edwin Lenz of Desoto, MO; and his maternal grandmother, Veola Owens of Enumclaw, WA. Sarah P. McDonald, 87, Deming resident, died Wednesday, September 20, 2000, at Willow Manor Adult Care Center in Deming. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial service and interment will be announced at a later date. Sarah was born August 14, 1913 in Central, New Mexico to Macedonio and Maria Torres Parra. Sarah lived in Albuquerque from 1954 to 1997 and was Office Manager at the Employment Security Commission for 32 years. She also participated in Geriatric Health Research at UNM and Lovelace Hospitals, was the founder of the Organic Growers Organization in 1972, and had been a Master Gardener since 1981. She was a member of the Retired Public Employees of New Mexico, Organic Growers Association, National Health Federation, AARP Widowed Persons, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and was a communicant of the Catholic Church. In 1997, she moved to Santa Clara, New Mexico to be near her family and had been a resident of Deming for two years. She is survived by her sister, Severa Garcia of Santa Clara; and many nieces and nephews. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hugh L. McDonald; her son, James C. Hamilton; her sisters, Natalia Molinar and Margaret Gallegos; and her brothers, Mace T. Parra, Albert Parra, Eloy Parra, and Larry T. Parra. Constance 'Connie' McLynch, resident of New Mexico since 1977, died September 26, 2000 in St. Joseph's Hospital. Carolina (Carrie) G. Ortiz, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away at the age of 84, on Monday September 25, 2000. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Angie Causus; three sons, Herman, Eddie, and George Ortiz, and a brother, Max Gonzales of Placitas, NM. Mrs. Ortiz is survived by her loving husband, Arthur M. Ortiz, Sr.; four sons, Arthur P. Ortiz, Jr. and wife, Rose, Ernest Ortiz and wife, Jessie, Albert Ortiz and wife, Sadie, and John Ortiz, all of Albuquerque; two daughters, Mary L. Bonillo and husband, Vincent of Belen, and Alice Vigil and husband, Elmer of Helper, Utah. Also surviving are two sisters, Cecilia Gonzales of Placitas and Lucaria Moya of Albuquerque; a brother, Juan Gonzales and wife, Lala of Albuquerque; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Ortiz taught grade school in Placitas; she loved cooking, raising her children, and helping others; she was a member of The Christian Apostolic Church in Placitas and Albuquerque.
