Jay Gordon, 37, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died on Wednesday, November 18, 1998. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Lisa M. Gordon of Albuquerque; children, Amber, Justin, and Aaron; mother, Dorothy Sorenson and husband, Cliff of Rio Rancho, NM; brother, Joe Gordon of Albuquerque; sister, Leesa Adcock and husband, Doug of Houston, TX; two nieces and a nephew; and his brothers and sisters in the Albuquerque Fire Department. Memorial services will be held Monday, November 23, 1998, 10:00 a.m. at Eastern Hills Baptist Church, 3100 Morris NE, with Pastor Larry Miller officiating. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association of NM, 525 San Pedro NE, #401, Albuquerque, NM 87108. French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE.

Daisy Catherine Harrison, 103 years young, died Friday, November 20, 1998 at Good Samaritan Care Center in Aztec. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rosco Harrison in 1983; and her son, Lawrence T. Gilbert in 1979. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Rosalie T. Gilbert of Farmington; two grandsons, Ned Munkres of Virginia and Larry Gilbert of Castroville, TX; and two granddaughters, Loretta Haybarker of Farmington and Patsy Biggerstaff of San Angelo, TX. She also has 13 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandson. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, November 25, 2:00 p.m., at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE, in Albuquerque. Graveside services will be conducted by the Triple Link Rebekah Lodge and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows of Albuquerque at the Fairview Cemetery. They will also serve as pallbearers. Arrangements with Cope Memorial Chapel, Farmington, 505-327-5142.

Phillip Madrid Jr., age 63, a resident of Albuquerque for 56 years, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday November 19, 1998. He is survived by his former wife and closest friend, JoAnn Madrid; daughter, Felicia Lynne Madrid; son, Trey Madrid and wife, Debbie; and three grandchildren, Austin, Gage and Logan; four brothers, Robert, John and Raymond, all of Albuquerque, and Wilfred and wife, Linda of Dallas TX; and many loving nephews, nieces, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cres; father, Felipe; and two sisters, Cecelia and Vangie. He was well loved and will be missed by all his family and friends. Phil was a member of the Marine Corps. He was an avid golfer. For some thirty years Phil worked in the amusement industry with his longtime friend and partner, Jim Moore. A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m., Monday, November 23, 1998 at Cross of Hope Lutheran Church, 6104 Taylor Ranch Rd. NW with Pastor Dale Bauer officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 24, 1998 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions in memory of Phil to Cross of Hope Lutheran Church Memorial Fund. Arrangements by Metropolitan, 601 Mountain Rd. NW.

Gilbert D. Medina, age 37, passed away on November 20, 1998. Arrangements under the care of Rio Rancho Funeral Home, 2400 Southern Blvd., 891-9192.

Roberta Jean Herrera Miller, 37, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque and Tijeras, ended her triumphant battle with cancer with her family by her side on November 19, 1998. Her peaceful departure was reflective of her as an individual, a loving daughter, mother and wife. Those who knew her were touched by her perseverance, integrity, and spirituality. She is survived by her husband, Steve; and son, Chad of Tijeras; parents, Robert and Patricia Herrera of Albuquerque; brothers, Patrick R. Herrera and Rodric J. Herrera of Albuquerque; grandparents, Al and Rachel Lujan of Roy, NM and Verva Miller of Las Cruces; mother-in-law, Janet Pearce and husband, Tom of Chloride, NM; father-in-law, John Miller and wife, Karen of Las Cruces, NM; brother-in-law, Wes Miller and wife, Barbie; and many other relatives and friends. Roberta was involved at Route 66 Elementary School, where she also served as PTO President. She was active with EMSL as a Board member, coach manager, and referee. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church in Edgewood, where she was involved with CCD instruction. Rosary will be recited Sunday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary-Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Mass will be celebrated Monday, 1:00 p.m., at St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church in Edgewood, with Father Johnny Lee Chavez, Celebrant. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5800 Lomas Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE.

Pablo Montoya, 78 years, of Pena Blanca, passed away November 19, 1998 in the loving arms of his nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held this morning, 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pena Blanca. Interment to follow at Pena Blanca Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Abraham Montoya, Jason Montoya, Leonard Mares, David Montoya, Jr., Richard Lee Montoya, Jr. and Franklie Brandsford. Honorary pallbearers will be Walter Montoya, Larry Montoya, Jimmy Armijo and David Montoya. Services entrusted to Alameda Mortuary, Gary Santillanes, C.F.S.P.

Visitation for Mrs. Ida Leisa Nevarez will be Monday evening in the Holy Family Church, 564 Atrisco SW, from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Beatrice and Lori Cordova. Final visitation will be Tuesday morning in the church from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. by Father Jack. Bill Powell, 88, a resident of New Mexico since 1929, died Sunday, November 22, 1998. He is survived by his daughter, Carol Meek of Los Lunas; son, Afton Powell and wife, Claudia of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Janice Smith and husband, Jay of Bosque Farms; grandsons, Ronald Meek of Los Lunas, Collen Meek of Albuquerque, John Powell of California and Trevor Metcalf of Kansas; great-grandchildren, Kenneth and Daniel Smith, both of Bosque Farms and Amber Meek of Peralta; and sisters, Lillie Merle Powell of Sanderson, TX and Marie McDonald of Houston, TX. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie in 1981; his daughter, Linda White in 1976; and his grandson, Billy Powell in 1992. Services will be held Wednesday, 1:30 p.m., at the Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, with Minister LeRoy Mills officiating. Entombment will follow. Christopher 'Chris' W. Zoeckler, 31, a resident of Albuquerque for 12 years, died Saturday, November 21, 1998, after a 19 month battle with Leukemia. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Gretchen and John Kryda of Garnerville, NY; and grandparents, Avery and Ruth Lockner of Tijeras, NM. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, November 25, 1998, 12:00 p.m., at First United Methodist Church, 4th and Lead SW, with Rev. Bill Sylskar officiating. To fulfill Christopher's wish, he asked that we 'sign up to be a bone marrow donor in his honor' at United Blood Services, 1515 University Blvd. NE 87102. Ignacia S. Aragon, a resident of Albuquerque for the last 50 years, passed away Saturday morning, November 20, 1999, at the age of 98. Ignacia was born to her late parents, Melecio and Virginia Lujan Sanchez on July 31, 1901, in Trementina, NM. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Seferino Aragon; son, Lorenzo; brothers, Rafael Sanchez and his wife, Guadalupe and Ramon Sanchez and his wife, Ofelia; sisters, Conferina Trujillo and husband, Demecio and Adela Padilla and husband, Nocario; and son-in-law, Jose A. Estrada. She is survived by her three children, Ruben Aragon, Facundo Aragon and wife, Amelia, all of Albuquerque and Emma Estrada of Las Vegas, NM; and brother, Alfonso Sanchez and wife, Cordelia. Ignacia had numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Ignacia had four special nieces who were forever at her side, Mary Gonzales and husband, Eloy, Frances Martin and her late husband, Bob, Angie Garcia and Patty Romero. Ignacia was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and an active member of the Senior Church group. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 1860 Griegos Rd. NW, with Father Ramon Aragon, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Baca Jr., Chris Baca, Dan Estrada, Jude Romero, Donny Estrada, Ben Martin, Miguel Padilla, Carlos Sanchez and Jesse Estrada. Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Gonzales, Wade Martin, Phillip Estrada, Robert Baca, Eloy Gonzales, Anthony Romero, Jimmy Baca, Tony Baca, Steve Estrada, Michael Gonzales, Margarito Garcia, Jonathan Baca, Kelly Baca and Alfonso Sanchez Jr. The family of Ignacia S. Mr. Philip A. Barajas died Monday in Albuquerque at the age of 55. Mr. Barajas was retired from the City of Albuquerque after 25 years of service and retired from the Army Reserves 156 Support Group, SFC. He belonged to the Ambassadors of Mary the Pilgrim Virgin. Mr. Barajas is survived by his wife, Rachel Barajas; daughters, Brenda Barajas Romero and husband, Tomas, and Diane Barajas; sister, Gloria G. Baca; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Barajas will be held on Wednesday at the St. Therese Catholic Church, where the Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tomas Romero, Robert Griego, Jerry Baca, David Griego, Esmenio Sanchez and Felix Barela. Honorary pallbearers will be Jake De Herrera, Ezequiel Torrez, Walter Conchuca and Ernie Nuanez. Visitation for Mr. Barajas will be held on Tuesday, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., in the mortuary chapel. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday evening, 7:00 p.m., at the St. Therese Catholic Church. Nancy Ellen Berry-Highum passed into the arms of Our Lord on November 18, 1999. Her father, James G. Highum Sr., preceded her in death in 1996. She is survived by her son, Christopher Berry; her daughter, Renee Berry; and grandson, Michael Bower of Buffalo, NY; her mother, Lou Highum; brothers, James G. Highum Jr., Chuck and Pam Highum, John and Marsha Highum, and Paul Highum of Albuquerque; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Nancy was born August 4, 1948 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. She graduated from Manzano High School in Albuquerque in 1966. She married Robert Berry in 1967 when he was stationed at K.A.F.B. in Albuquerque, and moved to Buffalo, New York the same year. She was an employee of Ultra Tool & Plastics in Buffalo, NY. Her warm smile, laughter, and kindness will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her. Thank you Lord, for sharing her good spirit with all those touched along the way. Internment was at Acacia Park Cemetery, Buffalo, NY.

Lauretta Bruhl, 92, died Thursday of complications from Alzheimer's. An Albuquerque resident since 1987, the Burlington, IA native is survived by her son, Paul Logan; daughter-in-law, Anita Ralstin; and granddaughters, Mia Logan, all of Albuquerque, and Lisa Logan of Milwaukee. A service/open house will be held Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, at 1818 Washington NE. Send memorials to charity of your choice.

Mr. Daniel Chavez Sr., a lifelong resident of Cubero, NM, was called to eternal life on Monday, November 22, 1999. Daniel was preceded in death by his mother, Francesquita and his father, George. Daniel was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Our Lady of Light Catholic Church in Cubero. He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Armelina of the family home; his seven children and their spouses, Helen and Alfonso, Daniel Jr. and Linda, Esther and Jimmy, Jeanette and Benny, Alma and Joe, Ben and Maria, Kim and Gina; 19 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; sisters, Cathy Riley, Lucy Nation, Edwina Montano; brothers, Crecencio, Edward, Florenio, Sammy and George Jr. Funeral services for Daniel will be held on Wednesday at the Our Lady of Light Catholic Church, where the Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Cubero Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dominic Sarracino, Joshua Chavez, Karl Scott, Jacob Chavez, Bobby Armijo and Freddie Vargas. Honorary pallbearers will be all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Rosary for Daniel will be recited in Tuesday evening, 7:00 p.m., at the Our Lady of Light Church. Arrangements by the Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 Third St. SW.

Robert F. Cole, 71, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday November 21, 1999. He is survived by his daughters, Geneva Ann Oldfield, Barbara Jo Polk and husband, Richard, and Trish Nadine Davis and husband, Harold; grandchildren, Rhonda Dyson and husband, Neal, Ryan Oldfield, Jeff Polk and wife, Carrie, Jeremy Polk and wife, Brandi, Robyn Davis and Rodney Davis; great-granddaughter, Bailey Rhae Dyson, all of Albuquerque; brother, Bill Cole and wife, Georgia of Jackson Hole, WY; sisters, Gertrude Wallace and husband, Luther, and Pat Palmer and husband, Jack, all of Anthony, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Cole was recently preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Cole on November 9, 1999. Services will be held Wednesday, 1:00 P.M., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Sandia Memory Gardens. Charles L. Conley, 69, a resident of Albuquerque since 1974, died Saturday, November 20, 1999. He is survived by his daughter, JoAnna Conley; granddaughter, Ashley Cade, both of Alamogordo; brother, Russell Conley of Wisconsin; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, 12:30 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.

Nancy B. Corcoran, 60, a resident of Albuquerque since 1959, died Friday, November 19, 1999. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Tom C. Corcoran of the family home; daughter, Kelly J. Morrison of Houston, TX; sons, Thomas C. Corcoran Jr. and Randy L. Corcoran and wife, Katie; daughter, Darcy L. Savage and husband, Mark, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Kyle and Amy Morrison, Lindsey and Kimberly Corcoran, and Ryan and John Corcoran; mother, Marjorie Beyer of Delano, MN; brothers, Edward Beyer and wife, Bernie of Dassel, MN and Lloyd Beyer and wife, Isabel of Minneapolis, MN; and sisters, Jean Hardin of Sacramento, CA and Joanne Menke and husband, James of Barnes, WI. Mr. Corcoran had been an employee of New York Life Insurance Company for 13 years. Nancy loved her work and will miss her wonderful 'family' of co-workers. She was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Jemez Springs. Mrs. Corcoran loved the Jemez Mountain country and will be missed by many friends in the Jemez Springs and Horse Shoe Springs area. Nancy was best friend, a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, and was loved dearly, and will be missed. Nancy, we all love you. Warren Terry Cottle, a resident of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico for the past 10 1/2 years, passed away unexpectedly from a massive heart attack early Saturday morning, November 20, 1999 at Sierra Hospital. He was 60 years old. Mr. Cottle was the proud son of the late Lorenzo Warren Cottle and Rhea Vaughter Cottle. He was born on July 28, 1939 in Clovis, New Mexico. He served his country honorably as a MP Drill Sergeant in the United States Army and later in the Army National Guard. He married his lifelong companion, Barbara Ann Rumbaugh on June 24, 1960 in Clovis. Terry retired from the Albuquerque Police Department after 20 years of service. He was a devoted father and grandfather. Along with fishing, Terry was an avid outdoor sportsman and lover of animals. He was a member of the Albuquerque Bass Bums, Elephant Butte Bass Angles, and T or C Trap Club. Mr. Cottle is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Barbara Ann Rumbaugh Cottle of the family home in Truth or Consequences; one son, Brian Todd Cottle of Phoenix, AZ; one daughter, Lisa Carol Pirtle and husband, Kenneth Joseph of Albuquerque; two brothers, William Andrew Cottle and wife, Rebecca of Newark, DE and David Owen Cottle and wife, Pat Cottle of San Angelo, TX; four grandchildren, Tammra Renee, age 14 years, Hanna Elizabeth, age 5 1/12 years, Dakota Glenn, age 4 1/2 years, and Emily Erin, age 3 years; a step-mother, Rowena Pursley Cottle of Clovis. A Memorial service to commemorate his life will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 24, 1999, at Sierra Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Cottle's nephew, Reverend William Andrew Cottle, will officiate. Service arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Sierra Funeral Home, 507 West McAdo Street, Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, 505-894-4428.
