Mrs. Prim C. Friedman. On November 19, 2000, this wonderful lady passed quietly into eternity. In rapid succession she was devastated with a series of crippling strokes and in just nine days was gone. Prim was born in Great Falls, Montana on August 25, 1932. She graduated from Great Falls High School, and one of her greatest pleasures from those days was down hill racing on the school team. She met her future husband there, who was a pilot in the U.S. Air Force stationed at Malmstrom Air Force Base. As she and Bill traveled in the Air Force, she developed her love of helping underprivileged children, teaching those that the schools had given up on. She was very active in the Officers Wives Clubs, Women of the Base Chapel, PTA and more organizations than can be mentioned here. She continued her club work until her health forced her to stop. In 1973, after her husband retired from the Air Force, they moved to Santa Fe and have lived here ever since. To keep from getting bored in retirement, she worked at the Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce for several years. Many of her patrons will remember her from the Guarantee on the Plaza where she worked for over ten years. She was a past president of the Santa Fe Newcomer's Club, the Women's Division of the Chamber of Commerce, the
Treasurer, House Chairman and numerous other positions at the Santa Fe Women's Club and Library Association and lastly, the Co-chair of the highly successful Santa Fe Scottish Rite Ladies Program which had achieved national recognition. For pleasure, she bowled and played in several bridge groups. She was an energetic woman and did everything in an outstanding manner. Prim is survived by her husband of 44 years, Benjamin W. "Bill" Friedman and his mother, Mrs. Helen Bennett of Santa Fe; her daughter, Lynn Chandler and husband Jim of Rancho Cucamonga, California. Lynn gave Prim two wonderful grandchildren: Leslie Litke and husband Ryan of Fontana, California and Michael Chandler and wife Jacqueline of Palm Desert, California. Leslie has given Prim two beautiful great-grandchildren, Megan and Paige Litke. Her family is crushed by the suddenness of her death and will miss her very much, and the city has lost one of its greatest citizens. A visitation will begin Friday, November 24, 2000 at 12:30 p.m. and a funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Berardinelli Family Chapel. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the New Mexico Scottish Rite Foundation, Inc. at P. O. Box 2024, Santa Fe, NM 87504-2024. Arrangements are under the direction of Berardinelli Family Funeral Service, 1399 Luisa, Santa Fe, 984-8600.
