Joseph R. Polichette, Sr., 62, a resident of Albuquerque since 1979, died Wednesday, February 28, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Alice Rose Polichette of Albuquerque; son, Joe Polichette Jr. and wife, Marie A. of Albuquerque; daughter, Susan Daniels and husband, Scott of Albuquerque; grandchildren, April Polichette, Joseph Polichette III, Anthony Polichette, Amanda Daniels, and Julia Daniels; brother, Anthony Polichette of Buffalo, NY; sisters, Florence Gerst of Williamsville, NY and Mary Wise of West Seneca, NY; sister-in-law, Noreen Farrell of West Seneca, NY; and many nieces and nephews in New York. Mr. Polichette retired from The Buffalo New York Board of Education as a furniture finisher in 1979. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather who will be missed by all of us. Memorial Services will be held Sunday, March 4, 2001, 3:30 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. NE, with Rev. Guy Lynch officiating.

Mr. Jude E. Salazar died Thursday in Albuquerque at the age of 43. Mr. Salazar was the President of Shiloh Aviation in Belen, NM. He is survived by his mother, Helen Salazar of Albuquerque; wife, Kelley Salazar, and daughters, Lauren Sherre Salazar and Andrea Faith Salazar, all of the family home. Jude is also survived by his brothers, Larry M. Salazar and wife, Corinna of Tome, NM, and Joseph L. Salazar of Albuquerque; mother-in-law, Peggy A. Mitchell of Albuquerque; sister-in-law, Robbin Tibbetts of Washington; brother-in-law, Michael J. Mitchell and wife, Terri of Utah; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Jude will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Evangel Christian Center, at Montgomery and Jefferson, with Pastor Ray Franks officiating. Burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Cardwell, Earnie Huston, Alan Chaulk, Jerry Buster, Eddie Montoya and Damian Bates. Arrangements by Salazar &Sons Mortuary, 400 Third St. SW.

Peter Michael Silecchio, 81, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1986, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2001. Peter was born December 12, 1919 the son of Donato Antonio and Mary Spano Silecchio in Brooklyn, New York. Peter was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, and a Life Member of the Moose Lodge. Peter came to Rio Rancho from New York. He had been a Route Driver for the Queensboro Milk Company before retiring. Peter is survived by his wife, Terry of the family home; three children, Donald Silecchio and wife, Regina of Los Angeles, CA, Marietta Ridsdale and husband, Joe of Rio Rancho, Francine Capone and husband, Joe of Rio Rancho; one sister, Grace Lutrario of Staten Island, NY; ten grandchildren, Dr. Peter Silecchio and wife, Lisa, Dr. Anthony Silecchio and wife, Valerie, Donald Silecchio, Jr. and fiancé, Danielle Battista, Joseph Ridsdale and wife, Star, Peter Ridsdale and wife, Sativa, Jennifer Messina and husband, Chris, Carmine Capone and wife, Annette, Fran Burke and husband, Johnny, Joseph Capone III and fiancé, Tamara Walker, and Terri Ann Compton and husband, Craig; and 18 great-grandchildren. The Visitation for Peter will be today, Saturday, March 3, 2001 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho, and Sunday, March 4, 2001 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 5, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Rio Rancho. Entombment will follow in the Floral Garden Mausoleum in Vista Verde Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Peter Silecchio, Anthony Silecchio, Donald Silecchio, Joseph Ridsdale, Peter Ridsdale, Carmine Capone, Joseph Capone,III, Craig Compton, Chris Messina, and John Burke. Catherine Walker Strong. A very loving life was taken on Ash Wednesday. Her husband of 40 years, Samuel E. Strong, her infant son, Richard, and her daughter, Carol Ann Strong, January 25, 1997, preceded Catherine in death. She was survived by her daughter, Susan Neuschwanger and husband, Ron; her son, Robert; her sister, Betty and husband, John McMullen; her brothers, Bill and wife, Patt Walker, her brother, Chuck and wife, Doris (deceased) Walker; her grandchildren, Julie and Bianca Strong, Ryan and wife, Kelly Neuschwanger and Melisa Arellano and 12 nieces and nephews. She also treasured her three great-grandchildren, Chance, Miranda and Jessire. Catherine was born on June 8, 1915 in La Junta, Colorado. Her family moved to Albuquerque when she was in high school. Catherine graduated from St. Vincent's Academy in 1932. She also graduated from Albuquerque Business College. Sam and Katie met when they both worked for Continental Oil Co. They were married on July 1, 1938 in Socorro, New Mexico. A Rosary will be conducted Friday, March 2, 2001 at Fitzgerald's Mortuary at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Newman Center, 1815 Las Lomas Rd. Pallbearers will be her nieces and nephews. Catherine will be laid to rest next to her husband at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Catherine was active at Our Lady of Fatima Church. She loved her bridge club and her garden. Contributions in her honor can be made to Sandia Hospice, 4725 Indian School Rd., Suite 100, 87110.

Mrs. Delilia Patricia (Perea) Valverde, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, won her battle with cancer surrounded by family and friends. She was called home to be in the presence of Jesus on Friday, March 2, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. She is survived by her husband, Daniel; sons, Clinton, Christopher and Antonio; granddaughter, Shannon; sisters, Filomena Cordova, Margarita Cline, Vicky Werner and Mary Chavez; brothers, Ignacio Perea, Teofilio Perea, Jr., Bobby Perea, Richard Perea and Thomas Perea. She is now reunited with her parents, Teofilio and Trinidad Perea, who resided in Corrales, NM. Rosary will be recited Monday, March 5, 2001, 7:00 p.m. at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Rd. NE. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, March 6, 2001, 9:00 a.m. at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery with an auto procession to the cemetery immediately following the Mass. A reception will be held upon return to Albuquerque at the lower-level meeting room of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Pallbearers will be Helen Flores, Rita Ortega, Isabel Guillen, Delfina Maestas, Anita Garcia and Carlotta Fischer. Honorary pallbearers will be all of the Altar Rosary Society members from St. Bernadette Catholic Church. The family wishes to express their gratitude for all of the prayers, cards, letters and flowers during the difficult period. For the vigils, the family wants to personally thank, Cipy DeVargas, Helen Flores, Isabel Guillen, Sally Hoffman, and Rita Ortega. ELOISA S. BROWN, 91, of Los Alamos and formerly of Dixon and Las Vegas, N.M., died Wednesday. She was born on Feb. 13, 1910. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ike Brown; and son, Luis Vailpando. She is survived by her children Fidel Salazar and wife Kathy, and Sadie Mullen, all of Las Vegas, Nev., and Chris Sasse and husband Ken of Vista, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Janette Vialpando of Las Vegas, Nev.; close and dear niece that was like a daughter, Virginia Romero of Los Alamos; niece, Beverly Trujillo of Española; and numerous other relatives and friends. Memorial services were held on Friday. Berardinelli Family Funeral Service.

ALFRED EUGENE 'GENE' BRUINGTON, 87, of Albuquerque and formerly of Santa Fe, died Saturday in Albuquerque. He was born Nov. 27, 1913, to George H. and Rowena Bruington in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was raised near Santa Fe and graduated from Santa Fe High School in 1932. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and the Korean War rising to the rank of major in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for the Zia Co. in Los Alamos from 1953 to 1979. He was a member of the Church of Christ Congregation in Los Alamos and Santa Fe. He was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors. Following his retirement, he moved with his wife to Santa Fe. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Helen Majorie (Terry) Bruington; parents; brothers James, Robert and Grafton Bruington; sister, Rowena Sherwood; and one infant brother and infant sister. He is survived by his children Stephanie Segura and husband Floyd of White Rock, Fay Beals and husband Bard of Albuquerque, and Terry E. Bruington and wife Dwayla of Gilbert, Calif.; six grandchildren; and brothers George Bruington of Albuquerque, John Bruington and wife Flo of Albuquerque, and Charles Bruington and wife Dorothy of Kingman, Ariz. Cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions may be sent to the charity of your choice. Burial will be held at 2 p.m. March 12, at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. HERLINDA C. CHAVEZ, 74, of Las Vegas, N.M., died Tuesday in Albuquerque following a lengthy illness. She was born July 24, 1926, to Edwardo and Eloisa C de Baca Gallegos in Las Vegas. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Juan Chavez; and brother, Edward Gallegos. She is survived by her daughters Elaine Marie Chavez of Albuquerque, Judy Evina Chavez of Las Vegas, Esther Jane Monk and husband Richard of Los Angeles, and Christine Ann Lopez and husband Pete of San Jose, Calif.; sister, Christine Martinez of Henderson, Nev.; brother-in-law, Paul Chavez and wife Carol of Los Angeles; grandchildren Karla Chavez and Elisha Salinas of Albuquerque, John Ulibarri and Julianna Montenegro of Las Vegas, Jose Edward of Los Angeles, Pablo Monk of Berkeley, Calif., Phillip and Erica Monk of Los Angeles, Johnny Lopez of Albuquerque, Peter Lopez of Santa Monica, Calif., and Kirsten Roberts of Springfield, Ore.; great-grandchildren Jeffrey Ulibarri of Albuquerque, John Ryan Ulibarri of Las Vegas, Sean Martinez and Jesus David Lopez of Albuquerque, Daisy Lopez of Albuquerque, and Vincent and Ethan Roberts of Springfield, Ore.; good friend, Teresa Mendoza of Las Vegas; and numerous other relatives and friends. Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. today at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. CARLOS DELGADO, 73, of Española and formerly of Santa Fe died Monday. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Delgado; four children; sister, Angelina Delgado of Santa Fe; brother, Ernesto Delgado of Greeley, Colo.; and numerous other relatives and friends. Graveside services at 2 p.m. Monday at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Block-Salazar Mortuary, Española.

GENEVIEVE R. MONTOYA, 81, of Cuyamungue died Thursday following a lengthy illness. She was born Aug. 4, 1918, in Cuyamungue. She married Ted Montoya on Dec. 9, 1939, in Santa Cruz. She loved to cook, sew and garden. She was a member of the Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe del Valle de Pojoaque. She was preceded in death by her parents Jose de Jesus Romero and Beatriz Romero; son, Ted Robert Montoya; brothers Narciso, Andres, and Enesto Romero; and sister, Abigail Garcia. She is survived by her husband, Theodosio 'Ted' Montoya; sisters Frances Romero and husband Ramon, Ursula Ruiz, Minnie Ortiz, and Carrie Baldonado; brother, Jose J. Romero Jr.; sisters-in-law Kate Garcia and husband Pete, Virginia Gallegos, and Mary Montoya; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Berardinelli Chapel. Visitation at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe del Valle del Pojoaque with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at the same church. ANN LOWRY OLCOTT, 69, of Santa Fe died Wednesday. She was born Jan. 19, 1932, in Wichita, Kan. She was a longtime resident of Santa Fe. She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Olcott Jr. She is survived by her children Bo Olcott of Santa Fe, Rick Olcott and his wife Mary Bennett of Albuquerque, Tracy Olcott and her husband Chris Goad of Covington, Louisiana, and Ginny Olcott of Santa Fe; and grandchildren Cristina and Nathan Olcott of Albuquerque. Memorial services at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McGee Memorial Chapel. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Santa Fe Animal Shelter and Humane Society. McGee Memorial Chapel Mortuary.

Arnalfa Aguilar, 77, passed away March 1, 2002. She was a lifelong resident of Bernalillo and a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Arnalfa was preceded in death by her son, Richard Aguilar, granddaughter, Trinidad Valdez, parents, Abel and Trinidad Perea. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jesus Aguilar; children, Michael Aguilar and wife, Alice, Josephine Trujillo and husband, Anthony, Dolores Valdez, Paul Aguilar and fiancé, Hazel, Anna Sanchez and husband, Robert; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Stella Montoya and husband, Harry; brother, Johnny Perea; brother-in-law, Solomon Aguilar; sister-in-law, Eloisa Aguilar; other family and friends who loved and will miss her. Services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo. A Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 2002. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2002 with burial following at Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Shelby M. Anderson, age 66, died Thursday, February 28, 2002 at Lovelace Hospital after a short bout with cancer. Mrs. Anderson was the daughter of a U.S. diplomat and was born in Istanbul, Turkey, Saturday, February 22, 1936. After graduation from high school in Alexandria, VA in 1954, she attended Mary Washington College. In 1960 she married Col. John G M. Anderson of the U. S. Air Force. Mrs. Anderson served as wife of the U. S. Air Attaché in the U.S. Embassy in Montevideo, Uruguay from 1961 to 1964. She accompanied her husband on subsequent assignments in Panama, Belgium and the United States. Since her husband's retirement in 1972, the family has made it's home in Albuquerque, NM. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Anderson is survived by her son, Lt Col Richard D. Anderson, USAF, and his wife, Patricia, of Summerville, SC; daughter, Alison M. Clardy and husband, Lt Col H. Stacy Clardy, USMC, of Joshua Tree, CA; brother, Paul T. Meyer, Jr., of Naples, FL; stepson, John G M. Anderson, Jr. and wife, Joyce, of U.S. Embassy, Guatemala; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service is scheduled for relatives and close friends Monday, March 4, 2002, 3:30 p.m., French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Attn: Carla Ramirez, 5800 Lomas NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. Gabino A. Andrade Jr., 45, went home to be with the Lord on February 27, 2002. He was born on July 29, 1956 in Albuquerque, NM. Mr. Andrade was preceded in death by his mother, Ramona. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Andrade; sons, Gabby Andrade and Cisco Andrade; one daughter, Sharon Andrade; brothers, Ramon Andrade and Daniel Andrade; sisters, Gloria Marquez, Vicky Gonzales, Mary Ann Martinez and Ignacia Pedroncelli; father, Gabino Andrade Sr.; one grandson, and many nieces and nephews. Gabino will be deeply missed by his loving family. Visitations will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2002 from 4:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Final viewing will take place on Monday, March 4, 2002 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 am. at Holy Family Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Services are in the care of Garcia Mortuary 717 Stover Ave. S.W. 243-5222.

Stephen J. Apodaca, age 42, died Friday in a local hospital following injuries from an accident. He is survived by his mother, Frances Apodaca Garndara and her husband, Tony. The Rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m., Monday, March 4, in the Chapel of Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Queen of Heaven Church. Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle NE, are in charge of arrangements.

Ricky Leroy Barboa, age 24, and a lifelong resident of Albuquerque died on February 28, 2002. He is survived by his parents, Leroy and Theresa Barboa of Albuquerque; his grandparents, Andy and Viola Baca of Albuquerque; a sister, Jezelle Garcia and husband, Eric of Albuquerque; a brother, Randy Barboa and wife, Traci of Albuquerque; two nieces, Jazmine Garcia and Sydni Barboa; and a nephew, Eric "Gator" Garcia, Jr. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Ricky loved outdoor activities, traveling, and workouts. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones and friends. Visitation will be from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2002 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Church, 5415 Fortuna Road NW, followed by a Rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:00 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2002 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Church with Fr. Gene Gries as Celebrant. At conclusion of servicfe, there will be a reception at The Holy Rosary Parish Hall. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Manny Garcia, Al Anzures, Pat Anzures, Joe Anzures, Andy Baca and Joseph Salazar. Honorary Pallbearers will include Jazmine Garcia, Syoni Barboa and Eric "Gator" Garcia, Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 58000 Lomas Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. Karen Lynn Campbell, 35. Karen first graced us January 30, 1967 in Albuquerque. Jesus needed a very special rose in Heaven. He picked the most beautiful on February 23, 2002. Our Shining Star will be loved and will live on in the hearts of her beloved daddy, John; big brother, Johnny; Grama, Angelica; auntie, Rose; friend, Jerry; and her mama, Laura; her beloved Leonardo, Raggie, Calvin, Jasper, Bailey, Holly and the rest of the kids; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins; her husband; friends and co-workers. As a licensed medical assistant and trained EMT, Karen compassionately gave of herself to help ease the suffering of countless members of this community. Karen sang like an angel and loved to play the piano. The lives Karen touched will continue to be brightened by her light - Forever and EVER. Karen was laid to rest on February 29, 2002 next to her grandpa, Adolfo Tafoya in Magdalena, New Mexico. Karen's celebration arrival in Heaven was hosted by her grandpa, Adolfo; grandma, Costancia, gramma, Marta; aunt, Andrie; cousins, Marty Soto and Tommy Tafoya. I love you my darling little sister. I'm sorry. I miss you - 'til we meet again, your big brother, Johnny.
