WILLIAM A. STANLEY, 65, of Taos died at home Monday. He was born in Richmond, Va., and lived in Alaska, Hawaii and California before moving to Taos in 1998. He is survived by his fiancée, Tamara Teeter of Taos; daughter, Shana Costanzo of Virginia Beach, Va.; sister, Nancy S. DePew of Midlothian, Va.; two nieces; two nephews; two great-nieces and one great-nephew. A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at West Rim Trail on the Rio Grande Gorge. JUAN DE DIOS VIGIL, 92, of Arroyo Seco and originally of Velarde died Tuesday. He was preceded in death by his wife, Epimenia Vigil; children, Mary Alice, Willie, Horace and Antonio. He is survived by six children, Clifford E. Vigil and wife Frances of Clovis, Henry Vigil of Arroyo Seco, Juanita Valdez of Lyden, Balbina Maria Avila and husband Gabriel, and Christina Lopez and husband Johnny, all of Chicago, Liberato Martinez and wife Maria of Utah; brother, Rosenaldo Vigil and wife Josefita of Velarde; sister, Donelia Aragon of Velarde; 24 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews and many other relatives and friends. Visitation is 3 p.m. today at Block-Salazar Mortuary with a 7 p.m. rosary. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Velarde. Interment will follow at the Velarde Catholic Cemetery. Block-Salazar Mortuary.

AGAPITO G. SALAZAR, 56, a lifelong resident of Hernandez died Tuesday following a short illness. He graduated in 1962 from Española High School. He played on the Hornet basketball team throughout high school. He retired in 1994 as a supervisor with Los Alamos County Parks and Recreation Department. He was a rancher. He was preceded in death by his father, Epifanio Lazaro Salazar. He is survived by his wife, Marian Salazar of Hernandez; mother, Rose G. Salazar of El Guache; two brothers, Eppie Salazar and wife Susie, and Joseph Salazar and wife Lala all of El Guache; nephew, Michael Salazar; nieces, Monica Salazar and Mildred Garcia; three brothers-in-law, Tony Gonzales, David Gonzales and wife Kathy, and Arthur Gonzales; sisters-in-law, Emily Gonzales, and Stella Garcia and husband Raymond of Albuquerque. Visitation is 11 a.m. Thursday at Block-Salazar Mortuary with a 7 p.m. rosary; visitation again is 11 a.m. Friday with a 7 p.m. rosary. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at the San Jose Church, Hernandez. Interment will follow at the Guaje Pines Cemetery, Los Alamos. Block-Salazar Mortuary.

Ralph G. Dugan, 82, passed away on March 4, 2001. A Funeral Service will be performed at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 9, 2001 at Palm Chapel, Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave SE. Interment will follow at 12:30 p.m. in National Cemetery in Santa Fe. Pallbearers are Raymond Cohen, Stephen Cohen, Steve Simon, John Cunby, Dick Feldbush, Ronald Maul, and Craig Hoppe. Strong-Thorne Mortuary is in charge of his arrangements.

Funeral Services for Ms. Mary Easter Flynn will be held on Friday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Art Lobato, Mark Carrillo, Ben Serna, Tim Gonzales, Ben Carrillo and Leonard Gonzales. Arrangements by Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 Third St. SW.

O. L. Garretson, 89, passed away on March 6, 2001 in Farmington, NM. He was born on February 24, 1912 on the family farm near Salem, Iowa. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Erma; a son, John and daughter, Susan Gattis both of Mission Viejo, CA and a son, Don of Mission, KS; a brother, Keith; and a sister, Doris Garretson both of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; eight grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sumner and Florence White Garretson of Salem and Mt. Pleasant Iowa, brothers, Wayne and Wendell, sister, Wilma, son, Leon, grandson, Cory and two great-grandsons, Michel and Zackery. Mr. Garretson graduated from high school in Salem, Iowa in 1930 and attended Iowa Wesleyan College. He later received his Mechanical Engineering Degree from Iowa State University in 1937. Soon after graduating from college, he went to work for Phillips Petroleum in Bartlesville, OK and held many important managerial positions, one being the manager of the Special Products Division when he left the company in 1947. He moved to Roswell in 1947 and was the VP and Director of Sacra Brothers Butane and Propane, President of General Tank and Steel and served as Exec. Vice President and Director of Arrow Gas. He also held positions of President of United Farm Chemicals and President and Director of Garretson Carburation of Texas before moving to Farmington in 1960 to cofound and serve as Chairman and CEO of Plateau Refinery in Bloomfield. When Plateau was acquired by Saburban Propane, he become a Director of the National Corporation. He was also one of the founding partners and the major shareholder of the Farmington Holiday Inn and had served as Chairman and Director of the parent Corporation. Mr. Garretson belonged to a large number of professional and civic organization and had received numerous awards for his contributions to his professional field. His memberships included the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the National Society of Petroleum Engineers, the American Petroleum Institute and he was President and Director of the National Petroleum Refiners Association. He also was a member of the Independent Refiners Association of America, the American Society of Agricultural Engineers, the American Society of Automotive Engineers and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. Mr. Garretson was the President and Secretary of the Ancient Gassers and was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Social Fraternity, the Tau Beta Pi Scholastic Honor Society and was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was an organizing director of the Farmington National Mason he was an organizing director of the Farmington National Bank, a member and past president of the Farmington Industrial Development Commission and had been the Chairman of the New Mexico Liquid Petroleum Gas Commission for 21 years. He was a registered professional engineer in New Mexico, Iowa, Oklahoma and Missouri and was a member of the Iowa Governors Trade Commission to Europe for two years. Mr. Garretson received the Distinguished Service Award from the National Liquefied Petroleum Gas Association, the Merit Award from Iowa Wesleyan College Alumni Association and he also received the prestigious Professional Achievement in Engineering Award from Iowa State University. He was a long standing member of the New Mexico Amigos and had taken many trips with the Governor and business leaders from throughout the state to promote commerce for New Mexico. He had been a New Mexico resident for 57 years. Throughout Mr. Garretson's career in the petroleum industry, he had been granted 45 patents fro projects that have enhanced operation, safety and storage related to petroleum product activities. These included a carburetor system for internal combustion engines and agriculture systems for crop fertilization and weed control. During World War II, Mr. Garretson worked on developing an aircraft engine factory test and break-in procedure, utilizing aircraft engine liquefied petroleum gas. This led to the invention of a system that allowed pilots to selectively increase the horse power of their engines during combat. Visitation will be Thursday 3:00 p.m. til 7:00 p.m. at the La Quey Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2001 at the First Presbyterian Church in Farmington with Co-Pastors, Dr. Frank and Tura Hayes officiating. Mr. Garretson will be taken to the Beatty Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant Iowa for Services Tuesday, March 13, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at the Salem Iowa Cemetery. The family has requested contributions be made to San Juan College Rotary Scholarship Fund, 4601 College Blvd., Farmington, NM 87401 or to a charity of your choice. Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of La Quey Funeral Home. 325-9611.

Celso Gonzales, 78, a lifelong resident of New Mexico went home to the Lord on March 7, 2001. He was born in Belen, New Mexico, to the late Salomon Gonzales and Maria Alfides Rael Gonzales on September 4, 1922. Celso is survived by his sister, Griselda Gonzales Toledo; aunt, Felipita (Lipa) Rael Espinosa; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He will be deeply missed by his loving family. Visitation for Mr. Gonzales will be held at Garcia Mortuary on Friday, March 9, 2001 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.. A Rosary will be recited at St. Edwin's Catholic Church at 5:00 p.m. Friday evening. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Edwin's on Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Belen Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be Salo Gonzales, Miguel Toledo, Barney Gonzales, Rosendo Gonzales, Lorenzo Alderete, and Allen Gonzales. Mrs. Lugardita Herrera (Grandma Lou), born in San Antonito, NM, died Wednesday in Albuquerque at the age of 86. She was a member of San Felipe de Neri Church. Mrs. Herrera is preceded in death by her parents, Alejandro and Rosalia Herrera, son, Cristobal Ruiz, grandson, Louis Ruiz, brothers, Tomas Herrera, Bernardo Herrera and Fermin Herrera. She is survived by her sons, Narciso, Richard, Raymond and wife, Isabell and Albert Ruiz; daughters, Suzanna Zamora of Los Lunas, Eufelia Ruiz; granddaughter, Rose Casias; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Memorial Services for Mrs. Herrera will be held on Saturday, at Holy Child Church in Carnuel, NM where the Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. Burial of the cremated remains will take place at Carnuel Cemetery. A Memorial Rosary will be held on Friday at 7:00 p.m. at San Felipe Church. Arrangements by Salazar & Sons Mortuary,400 Third St. SW.

Petra D. Jaramillo, 60, a resident of Albuquerque for 30 years died, Wednesday, March 7, 2001. She is survived by her companion, Marcelino Gonzales of Albuquerque; daughter, Nellie Parra and husband, Anthony of Albuquerque; son, Marcos Dominguez and fiancé, Joan Miera both of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Andrew, Jessica, Sandra, Monica Parra and Marcos A. Dominguez; brothers, Miguel, Guillermo and Julian Dominguez; and sister, Maria Polanco. Rosary will be recited, Friday, 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary-Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW (3blks North of Paseo del Norte). Mass will be celebrated Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, 5415 Fortuna Rd. NW. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Glenn B. Kloss Sr., 81, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on March 6, 2001. Mr Kloss is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-seven years, Margaret; one daughter, Margaret A. Kloss; three sons, Glenn B. Kloss Jr. and wife, Shirley, Randy W. Kloss and wife, Barbara and Gary Kloss; two brothers, Chester Kloss and wife, Martha of Pennsylvania and Fred Kloss and wife, Sylvia of Ohio; five grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Kloss was a member of the Catholic Church. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 2:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna NW with a Rosary to be recited at 3:00 p.m. by Mrs. Gabriella Nieto. Final Visitation will be Monday morning in the Church from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. by Father Joel Garner. Pallbearers will be Margaret A. Kloss, Glenn Kloss Jr., Randy W. Kloss and Gary R. Kloss. Interment of cremains will be Tuesday afternoon in the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Dr.,SW in charge of arrangements.

Pauline Elizabeth Knight, 84, passed on Tuesday, March 6, 2001. Mrs. Knight graduated from Evart High School in 1933. She worked in Experimental Engineering at AC from 1934 to 1946. In 1937, she married Vernon Welter and had one son, Karl. Vernon was killed in World War II in 1945. A year later she married Frank Knight. In 1965 to 1972, she worked at the Flint's Journal in Flint, MI in the Classified Department. She then moved to Rio Rancho and worked as supervisor in Classifieds at the Albuquerque Journal from 1972 to 1986. Mrs. Knight was a member of Swartz Creek O.E.S, #430, and Rio Rancho Methodist Church. She is survived by her sons, Karl Welter of Apache Junction, AZ; Frank Knight III and wife, Cindy of Albuquerque, and Jim Knight and wife, Ellie of Albuquerque; five grandsons, Frank, Andy, Kyle, Chris, and Jeff; one granddaughter, Molly; two nieces, Prudy Jacoby of Davison, MI and Kathy Koch of Flint, MI. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Knight Jr. in 1987. Services will be held Friday, March 9, 2001, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Interment will take place at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Flint, MI. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to Presbyterian Hospice, c/o Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation, P.O. George Thacher Leonard, a resident of Paradise Hills for the last 18 years, passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2001. He was born July 19, 1919, in Ollie, Montana to George S. and Stella Thacher Leonard. He was married to Mary Helen Robinson on July 17, 1943. He is survived by his wife of 57 years; one son, Stephen G. Leonard and wife, Gail of Prineville, OR; and one daughter, Kathryn B. Leonard of Rio Rancho, NM; four grandchildren, Mary V. Good, Michelle Bosley, Michael Leonard, Sarah Leonard; and three great-grandchildren, Alric Good, Shelbie Williams, and Peyton Leonard. George joined the Marine Corps on October 10, 1940 and served until February 22, 1946. He was employed by the Civil Aeronautics Administration from 1947 to 1957. He then went to work for the Department of the Army on the White Sands Missile Range until his retirement in 1974. He was a Past Master of La Feria Masonic Lodge #1197, La Feria, TX, a member of Sandoval Lodge #76, Ballut Abyad Shrine, ANSAR Shrine Unit and West Mesa Shrine Club. He was a Past Patron of La Feria Chapter #732 O.E.S., La Feria, TX and a member of Turquoise Chapter #71, O.E.S., Rio Rancho, NM. He was a member of Paradise Hills United Methodist Church. George was an avid fisherman and was never happier than when he was in his boat on a lake fishing. A Memorial Service was held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2001 at Paradise Hills United Methodist Church, 4700 Paradise Blvd. with the Rev. David Snyman officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Ballut Abyad Children's Transportation Fund, Ballut Abyad Temple, 6600 Zuni SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108.

Edward C Lowry, 82, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2001. Edward was born October 17, 1918 the son of Clarence and Edith Maupin Lowry in Leeton, Missouri. He served in the US Air Force, serving during WWII, retiring in 1964 and had been an Engineer Manager with Boeing Company, retiring in 1984. Edward came to Albuquerque the first time while stationed at Kirtland AFB, and then again after retiring. He was a member of the Lions Club and he volunteered at The Storehouse. Edward was preceded in death by his wife Helen in 1999 and one brother. He is survived by his son, Warren Lowry and wife, Madelyn Millholland of Anchorage, AK; two brothers, Gilbert Lowry and wife, Catherine of Shawnee, KS, and Dale Lowry and wife, Paula of Newmont, CA; and one sister-in-law, Shirley Lowry of Leeton, MO; also numerous nieces and nephews, including niece, Sally Baca, Munkres, and great-great-nephews, Isaiah and Eliz Vargas. The Service for Edward will be on Saturday, March 10, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. Entombment will follow in the Patriots Mausoleum in Vista Verde Memorial Park. Arrangements by Vista Verde Mortuary, Rio Rancho.

Thomas R. Martinez, Jr., 70, passed away at a local hospital on March 5, 2001. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, March 9, 2001 at Immaculate Conception Church, 619 Copper NW. Pallbearers are Larry Guy, Richard Norris, Josh Stockham, Mathew Stockham, Joey Olonia, and Tom Holder. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Darold C. "Mac" McCrossen, 77, a resident of Albuquerque for 30 years, died Sunday, March 4, 2001 in Colville, WA. He is survived by his daughters, Jennie McCrossen of Albuquerque, Debbie McCrossen of Carson City, NV, Mary Lewis and husband, David, of Aurora, CO, and Stacey Peterson of Albuquerque; three grandchildren, Jeff Lewis and Katie Lewis of Aurora, CO and Jessica Peterson of Albuquerque; and a very special friend, Marian Beardsley of Colville, WA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sherlee McCrossen in 1984. Services will be held Saturday, March 10, 2001, 1:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Chaplain Michael Fabian Gagnon officiating. Dorothy E. Miller, 86, a resident of Albuquerque since 1959, died Monday, March 5, 2001. She is survived by her brother, Ernest W. Runkle and wife, Dorothy of Dowagiac, MI. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Miller in 1988 and sister, Bernice Riffe in 2000. Mrs. Miller was a member of First Christian Church and Truth Seekers Sunday School class. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held Friday, March 9, 2001, 11:00 a.m., at First Christian Church, 10101 Montgomery Blvd. NE, with James E. Ward officiating.

Edward C. Pratt, 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1974, died Tuesday, March 6, 2001. He is survived by his son, John Pratt and wife, Sandy of Albuquerque; and grandchildren, Casandra Pratt of Oklahoma City, OK and Jeremiah Pratt of Albuquerque. He is preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis G. Pratt in 1978. Mr. Pratt retired from U.S. Army after nearly 23 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Pratt was a member of the Mason of the Scottish Rite for 43 years. Cremation has taken place and a private memorial graveside service will be held Friday, March 9, 2001. Duke Elias Salinas, 43, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2001. He is survived by his sons, Joshua Duke Salinas and Justin Stewart Salinas; parents, Pete G. and Maria E. Salinas; sister, Debra K. Salinas; brothers, Dan L. Salinas and wife, Karla K. and David A. Salinas and fiancé, Audra Benaitis, all of Albuquerque; nieces, Cassandra and husband, Jerome, Kristina, Diana and husband, Gary, Rachel, and Lorraine; nephews, Sean and Gregory; grandnieces, Katie and Kaylee; and by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Duke was born in Albuquerque on November 7, 1957 at Kirtland AFB and graduated from Sandia High School in 1976. He attended UNM, TVI, Eastern NM University and Dale Carnegie courses. Duke primarily worked for the family business in sales, holding the position of vice president for several years. In that time he married Emily and raised two sons, Josh and Justin. His love of photography developed from a hobby into a profession where he won many awards of achievement from the New Mexico Photographers Association. He owned and operated his own photography studio specializing in architecture, weddings, glamour and studio portraits. Duke spent five years in volunteer activities, which included work as an Albuquerque Juvenile Probation officer and with the youth ministry group at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church. He was a past member of the Duke City Exchange Club and past president and member of the Board of NM Photographers Association. Recently, Duke was pursuing his real estate license, working primarily in mortgage real estate finance. A Rosary will be recited Sunday, March 11, 2001, 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Chapel, 7121 Wyoming NE. Mass will be celebrated Monday, March 12, 2001, 8:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 2532 Vermont NE, Father Ronald Bruckner, Celebrant. Public visitation will be Sunday, March 11, 2001 from 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Canossian Spirituality Center, 5629 Isleta Blvd. SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105.

Carolyn Marsh Tillotson, 56, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, died on Monday, March 5, 2001. Beloved daughter of Edith and George (d.1982). Carolyn was born on November 25, 1944, in Ludington, Michigan. She was a devoted mother, teacher, musician, general contractor, seamstress, knitter and adventurer. She was a deeply spiritual person and her faith inspired others. She is survived by her two children, Laura Rubin of Evanston, Illinois and Bradley Tillotson of Albuquerque; she is also survived by her siblings, Warren Marsh, Mary Ruth Payne and Meredith Rivers. Services will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2001, 9:30 a.m. at Hoffmantown Church, 8888 Harper NE. Memorial contributions may be made to Noonday Ministry, P.O.
