Beatrice Julia "Bee" Van Dusen, 81, a resident of Albuquerque since 1993, died Wednesday, March 8, 2000. She is survived by her husband, Roy R. Van Dusen Jr.; a brother, Leonard Strauss of Chicopee, Mass.; and two nieces and a nephew, including Susan Collins of Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by son, Lt. Roy R. Van Dusen III. Bee was born in New York City and grew up in White Plains, New York, where she graduated from high school in 1937. In World War II, she served in the Women's Army Corps at Ft. Benning, Georgia, where she was married in 1945. She traveled widely with her Army officer husband, living in Taiwan, Germany and Hong King. She received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland when she lived in Columbia, Maryland in 1978. Services were private, memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Assn.

Mrs. Virginia Vigil died Friday in Albuquerque at the age of 88. She is preceded in death by her husband, Filiberto Vigil; brother, Delfinio Martinez; sister, Augustina Martinez; parents, Petrita and Alfredo Martinez; son, Joe Vigil; and daughter, Mary Vigil. Mrs. Vigil is survived by her son, Santos Vigil; daughter, Crucita Gallegos; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Memorial Services for Mrs. Vigil will be held on Monday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. by Father Rodriguez. Inurement will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A Memorial Rosary was held on Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Salazar and Sons Mortuary, 400 Third St. SW.

Cora B. Williams, 91, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away March 9, 2000. She is survived by her son, Otis N. Williams and wife, Marjorie Jean Williams of Albuquerque; 13 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 25 great-great grandchildren all of Albuquerque; two nephews of Texas; one nephew of Chicago, IL; and one niece of Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Williams; son, Harvey Eugene (Duke) Williams; and grandson, Ronald Craig (Rudy). Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2000, 1:00 p.m., at Macedonia Baptist Church, 1509 Edith SE, with Rev. R.J. Knight officiating.

Patricio Armenta went to be with the Lord on March 10, 2001. He was a Veteran of WWII and is survived by his wife, Ida and three children, Mary and her two sons, Leo and Michael, Oralia and husband, Lorenzo and two sons, Patrick and Thomas Torres, Johnny and wife, Dolores and their two daughters, Natasha and Michelle De Ann. He also had four grandsons, and one great-grandson; two brothers, Nick Armenta and wife, Delia and Pedro Armenta Jr. Serving as pallbearers will be Lenny Sanchez, Joe Aragon, Patrick and Thomas Torres, Serafin Garcia and Teddy Sanchez. Eula Mae Atchley Bonnel, 87, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico for 23 years, left for her eternal home on Sunday, March 11, 2001. She is survived by her daughters, Janice Kent and husband, Larry of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Joyce Reese and husband, Martin of Spanish Fork, Utah; son, Jerry Riggs and wife, Toby, of Lee's Summit, Missouri; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Eula moved to Kansas City, Missouri from Oklahoma at the age of 51. She lived in Kansas City, Missouri for 50 years where she was employed by Wolferman's Grocery Stores for 15 years until their closing. Eula moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1978 from Kansas City, Missouri. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She had been involved in the American Business Women's Association and the Women's Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 7900, Kansas City, Missouri. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her smile and spirit will always be with us. Services will be held Wednesday, March 14, 2001, 1:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints - Manzano Ward, 12701 Indian School. Jaeda Jacobus born July 22, 1999 went to be with the Lord on March 10, 2001. She is survived by her mother, Joann Brazfield; father, Harry Jessie Jacobus III; grandparents, Leroy and Tonella Brazfield; Dorothy Griego.; one uncle and aunt, Leroy Brazfield Jr. and Monica Brazfield; cousins, Beau and Austin; and many other extended family members and close friends. Services will be held at Oasis Family Church 4800 Lomas NE. Viewing at 10:30 a.m. Service at 11:00 a.m. on March 14, 2001. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Eva G. Brown, 84, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, and resident of Albuquerque since 1933, died Sunday, March 11, 2001. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Joseph H. Brown; sons, Bill Logsdon, Roy Logsdon and Clifford Dale Logsdon, all of Albuquerque and Robert Brown of Chandler, AZ; daughters, Mae Current of California and Joyce Vanderleest of Marina, CA, Ruby Hamilton of Phoenix, AZ and Rosie Scott of Albuquerque; and 105 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Services will be held Thursday, 2:00 p.m., at First Baptist Church of Alameda, 8818 2nd NW, with Rev. Marvin Capehart officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. James Kevin Clark, 43, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Friday, March 9, 2001. Kevin was born May 18, 1957, the son of James A. and Joan Blaes Clark in El Paso, TX. He is survived by his parents; two sisters, Linda Clark Butler and husband, Curtis of Medford, NJ and Cathleen Clark Perez and husband, Michael of Humble, TX; two nieces; and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Box Clark of Clovis. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., at Church of the Risen Savior, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Father Richard Olona, Celebrant. Graveside services will take place Tuesday, 4:00 p.m., at Mission Garden Memories in Clovis, NM. French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE.

Florence F. Conklin. Florence Conklin started her journey though this life on March 10, 1907. She was born Florence Fleet Fortyune in the small town of Beasley, Virginia. Her journey took her down many a highway and as many pathways and lanes. She met and befriended untold numbers of people along the way. She left a definite and lasting impression on many of them. Florence's journey was brought to a standstill here in Albuquerque, where she recently returned to be with her surviving family. Her journey ended peacefully in sleep. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, as well as five sisters and four brothers. Her daughter, Lorraine and her husband, Jim Seals, survive her; three granddaughters, Laura Ruscetti, Deborah Donahue and Susan Seals; and two grandsons, Bobby Seals and Kelly Seals, all of whom reside in or near Albuquerque, also survive her; also surviving her are seven great-granddaughters, Leta Tripp, Shannon Thompson, Danielle Seals, Kelsey Seals, Jacey Lee Ferguson, Katie Seals, Ara Lee Seals; and one-great grandson, Shawn Tripp; she also has several nieces and nephews on the East Coast. Florence lived in Albuquerque from 1973 to 1990 and then relocated back to Virginia and Maryland. She returned to Albuquerque on February 24, 2001 and fell ill two days later. She passed from this earth Wednesday evening, March 7, 2001 at 8:20 p.m. to begin her new journey. Cremation has been performed and she will be returned to Fort Lincoln Cemetery in Washington D.C. and interred with her late husband, James Conklin. We, the Seals family, would like to extend our unlimited gratitude to all of the friends and neighbors that knew her and cared for her while she lived here. We would also like to extend a special thank you to Florence's niece, Louisa Gavigan, for taking such wonderful care of her these last several months.

Barbara Haines Ellison, born June 27, 1933, daughter of Stephen Wheeler Haines and Mable Snyder Haines of Muskogee, OK, died on March 7, 2001 in Taos, NM. Diagnosed with lupus in 1966, Barbara was one of the longest living Lupus patients in the world. Her courage and tenacity in the face of this chronic disease were remarkable. Graduating from Central High School, she then attended the University of Oklahoma where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority and met her husband of 46 years, George Rittenhouse Ellison of Oklahoma City. Barbara was a member of the Junior League of Albuquerque, playing the witch in the Children's Theater productions, "Hansel and Gretel," and serving as Recording Secretary from 1967 - 1968. When her family moved to Colorado Springs, she volunteered at the Horticulture Society of Colorado Springs and served as a docent at the Fine Arts Center. In 1974, her family moved to Connecticut, living first in Darien and later in Stamford. She served on the boards of Trustees of the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum in Norwalk and the Bartlett Arboretum in Stamford. She was a Connecticut Master Gardener and a member of the Shippan Point Garden Club. Retiring with her husband to Taos in 1993, Barbara became a member of the Taos Garden Club and maintained 86 varieties of penstemon, which grow in her garden today. She is survived by her husband, her brother, Stephen W. Haines of Houston, TX; two daughters, Carter of Boulder, CO, and Lynne of Philadelphia, PA; and a son, David of Cleveland, OH. She requested no flowers and in honor of her lifelong love of animals, friends may make gifts to the Humane Society of Taos, Inc. PO Box 622. Memorial Services will be held in Taos on Saturday, May 5, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements by Rivera-Hanlon Funeral Home.

Jake J. Griego, a resident of Albuquerque for 54 years, died Friday, March 9, 2001. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Connie Griego of Albuquerque; daughters, Gloria Austin and husband, Richard, Becky Johnson and husband, Jim, Yolanda Donaldson, and Bernadette Snagel and husband, Allen all of Albuquerque; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Ralph Griego and wife, Betty, John Griego and wife, Katie, all of Albuquerque; sisters, Dorlores Baca and husband, Art of Albuquerque, and Trini "Mary" Thompson and husband, Raymond, of Andrews, SC. Jake was a member of Queen of Heaven church, 5311 Phoenix Ave., NE. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. Pallbearers will be Ralph Griego., Jr., Mark Griego, Steve Griego, Rick Baca, and Anthony Griego. N. P. 'Pres' Gunter, 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1941, died on Tuesday, March 6, 2001. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Luella M. Gunter of the family home; son, Robb Gunter and wife, Bunty of Tijeras, NM; daughter, Kathy Ann Gunter of Oklahoma City, OK; grandsons, Chad and Brad Gunter of Tijeras, NM; and brother, Tom Gunter and wife, Marge of Pueblo, CO. Pres was born in Pueblo, Colorado on October 25, 1920 and lived there until 1941 when he came to Albuquerque, New Mexico to attend UNM. After graduation from UNM he served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and established Air Engineering in 1960. He was a member of the Albuquerque Kiwanis Club, with 34 years of perfect attendance. Pres was also a member of Grace Church. Services will be held Wednesday, March 14, 2001, 1:00 p.m. at Grace Church, 6901 San Antonio NE, Pastor Edwin Shepperson, officiating. Ariel Gutierrez-Zamora, beloved son and brother, 27, a resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, March 9, 2001. He is survived by his mother, Lou Reynolds of Albuquerque; father, Dante Gutierrez-Zamora of Jalapa, Veracruz, Mexico; siblings, Gina G.Z. Biazar and husband, Shahram of Rio Rancho, Dante Gutierrez-Zamora, Elena Marshall and Nathan Vigil, all of Albuquerque; niece, Maya Colt; nephew, Bayan Biazar; uncle, Fred Reynolds of Albuquerque; aunt, Hada Gutierrez-Zamora; uncle, Ariel Gutierrez-Zamora, both of Orizaba, Veracruz, Mexico. Earlene Helms, 67, a resident of Albuquerque for 57 years, died Saturday, March 10, 2001, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Audie Helms; son, Keith Helms; daughters, Brenda Gantt and husband, Eddy and Denise Friend and husband, Dave, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Audie K. Helms III from ID, Jennifer and Melissa Helms, both of Tomé, Willis Johnson of Oklahoma City, OK, Ashley Gantt of Albuquerque, Beau Gantt of Los Lunas, and Candice and Travis Friend, both of Albuquerque; great-granddaughter, Alexis Johnson of Oklahoma City, OK; step-father, Oscar Turner; sisters, Phyllis Mitchell and husband, John and Nagatha Himel and husband, Webb; brothers, Frank Turner and wife, Lynda and Doug Turner and wife, Peggy, all of Albuquerque; several nieces and nephews; and many relatives and friends who love her and will miss her. She was preceded in death by her mother, Orlena Turner; father, Vollie Maggard; and sisters, Josephine Maggard and Nadine Mobley. Earlene was very active with her husband in their auto repair business, A&E Auto Repair. She had worked for Jill's Bakery many years at the Piggly Wiggly on Isleta Blvd. Earlene was a member of the Women of the Moose, Pythian Sisters and the Pythian Sunshine Girls; and she was past president of Duke City Raceway Auxiliary. She loved auto racing and being involved first hand. She loved to watch and cheer for her daughter, Brenda and son-in-law, Eddy she was their #1 fan. Stanley A Jordan, died Friday March 9, 2001 at age 78. Survived by his wife, Roberta (Nee Brown), of Rio Rancho; daughter, Debra Frank of Waukesha, WI; and grandson, Willard Frank of West Allis, WI. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey R. He is, further survived by his sister, Joan Pequet of Brookfield, WI. Stanley was a former resident of Brookfield, WI. He served in the U.S. Army in Europe in WW II. He was for many years the purchasing agent for Radio Parts and a salesman for Marsh Electronics. He retired in Rio Rancho in 1987. After retirement, he worked as a docent at the Alb. Museum for 11 years, was a past elder at the Rio Rancho Presbyterian Church and a member of the Westerners. Stanley enjoyed golf and spending time with his wife and many friends. Memorial Services will be held at the Rio Rancho Presbyterian Church on Wednesday March 14, 2001 at 3:00 p.m.

Michael Raymond Keller
KELLER - Michael Raymond ( "Dude "), born October 22, 1955, a proud loving father, husband, son, brother, uncle and great uncle to many, died on Ash Wednesday, February 28, 2001. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2001, at 6:00 p.m., at East Gate Church, on 12120 Copper, N.E., in Albuquerque, west of Chelwood on Copper. A pot luck dinner will be held at the church following the Memorial Service. Friends of the family are welcome. Michael is survived by his loving family, including his wife, Janet Keller; his daughters, Amanda Keller and Emily Keller; his mother, Nancy Keller; his father, Ed Keller; his stepmother, Joni Keller; his eight brothers and sisters, Lori Keller, Juli Keller, Patrick Keller, Tamara Romero, Christi Keller, Jill Keller, Joseph Keller, and James Keller; his brother-in-law, Rick Romero; his sisters-in-law, Rusty Keller and Daniela Keller; his many nephews and nieces, Shannon Adams, Danny Keller, Brandy and Johnny Pacheco, Ryan Keller, Jesse Adams, Chad Keller, Nathan Simon, Kelley Simon, Bradley Keller, Justin Keller, Joshua Keller, Nicole Keller, Alexis Keller, Joseph Keller, Jr; and his great-nieces, Trystany Adams and Ashelynn Bryer; and his great-nephews, Johnny Pacheco, Jr., and Christian Adams; and many life-long friends in Albuquerque and Colorado. He was predeceased by his nephew, Jason Paul Keller Chavez. Michael was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on October 22, 1955, and moved to Albuquerque in 1968 as an adolescent. As a young adult, he moved to Colorado with his buddies to pursue his love for the outdoors and has remained there since. He worked at Martin Marietta for over ten years and was a painter by trade. His hobbies included hunting and fishing, and training his bird dogs for his outdoor expeditions. He was secretly a poet and sometimes played the harmonica. His family, immediate and extended, his friends and his dogs were the source of joy in his life. Donald Kruse, a resident of Albuquerque for over 40 years, died Saturday, March 10, 2001. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Shirley Kruse of the family home; daughters, Debbie Myers and husband, Kurt of Atlanta, GA, Sheryl Locke and husband, Brad of Greensboro, NC; son, Greg Kruse and wife, Whitney of Albuquerque; six grandchildren; brothers, John Kruse, Lexington, NE, Carl Kruse of Canon City, CO, Harry Kruse of Bluespring, NE and Walter Kruse of Beatrice, NE; sisters, Anne Stuteville of Portland, OR, Lorrina Higgins of Beatrice, NE and Dorothy Siske of Stelnauer, NE. Donald was one of the founders of Sagebrush Sales, a lumber company, as well as a board member of the Believers Center. He served on the Executive Management Committee of Plygem Industries of NY, and was a managing member of Kruse Enterprises, LLC. Donald loved to golf and never missed an opportunity to play in the Charlie Pride Pro/Am Tournament. Robert R. Mazarr, 53, after a long illness, died March 11, 2001. He is survived by his father, "Muzzie" and his sister, Susan Mazarr-Proo. A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2001 in Fern Chapel, Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave SE. James Lindsey Richardson, U.S.N P.C.C.S. (Retired), 76, of Albuquerque died at home March 12, 2001 with his family at his side. He served in the US Navy 27 1/2 years and was a Veteran of WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. He later retired in 1986 from the US Postal Service after 16 years. James was preceded in death by his parents Marion M. and Teresa E. Richardson and brother, Marion Richardson Jr. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Pola R. Richardson; two sons, John J. Richardson and wife, Christy, and Thomas J. Richardson; daughter, Pola C. Richardson; and four grandchildren, Olivia and husband, Shawn Dearholt, Jon Michael Mills, Racquel Richardson and Justin Cline; two sisters, Isabel and husband, Louie Silva, Rosemary Chavez and husband, Benny; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly. Mela Romero, 91, a resident of Albuquerque for over 24 years, died Saturday, March 10, 2001. She is survived by her sons, Arthur Romero and wife, Virginia of Belen, Charles Romero of Glendale, CA, and Gene Romero and wife, Shirley of Kingsport, TN; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter; and special nieces and nephew and good friends, Celia, Peggy and Mike. She was preceded in death by husband, Nash Romero in 1978 and her parents, Juan Martinez and Piedad Otero. Mela was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated on Friday March 16, 2001, 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Assumption, Lomas and Tennessee. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas blvd. NE, Thursday, March 15, 2001, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
