Christopher Travis Parsons-Maes, 2 months and 7 days, passed away April 24 at his home in McIntosh. He is survived by his parents, Danny and Elizabeth Maes; three sisters, Bianca, Mariah and Kasandra; and one brother, Aaron; his maternal grandparents, Ray and Cindi Parson of Jemez Springs; paternal grandparents, Albert Maes and Ramona Castillo of Willard, NM; maternal great-grandparents, Ruby Parsons, Ruth and Doyle Dobbs of Albuquerque; paternal great-grandparents, Casianita Gonzales; his aunt and uncle, Kenneth and Joanna Claxton of Seattle, WA. Also surviving are numerous great-aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Herman Parsons, Alfredo Gonzales, Barbara and Cirilio Maes. Viewing will be Thursday, April 27, 2000, 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at Harris-Hanlon Chapel in Moriarty. Services will be Saturday, April 29, 2000, 3:00 p.m., at the First Baptist Church in Moriarty with Kenny Long officiating. Burial will follow at the Mountain View Cemetery in Moriarty. Pallbearers will be Joe Gonzales and Christopher Romero. Christopher will be greatly missed by all. He was loved very much and brought so much joy to us in the short time he was here. Arrangements were entrusted to the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty, NM.

Funeral services for Gary Arnold Ramos Pennington will be conducted Saturday afternoon, 4:00 p.m., at Church on the Rock Church. Casket bearers will be Frank Mendoza, John Rey Ramos, Danny Ramos, Marcos Lujan, Julius Torrez and Joey Montoya. Funeral services are in the care of Garcia Mortuary, 717 Stover Ave. SW, 243-5222.

Carl W. Peterson, 94, a resident of Albuquerque since 1943, was called to his heavenly mansion, which his Savior had gone 2000 years before to prepare a place for him.
Mr. Peterson is survived by his children, David Peterson of Albuquerque, Shirley Ann Williams and husband, Linville of Mesa, AZ, and James R. Peterson and wife, Kathleen of Albuquerque; daughter-in-law, Sherry Peterson of Arvada, CO; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by is wife of 68 years, Ruth B. Peterson in 1997; and son, Nathan C. Peterson of Denver, CO. Mr. Peterson was a charter member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was general manager of Fox-Vliet Wholesale Drug CO. Services will be held Saturday, 1:00 p.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, 4311 12th St. NW, with Pastor Randall B. Senn officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be James Peterson, Stephen Peterson, Travis Moss, Justin Moss, Erik Fritz, and Cruz Martinez. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. Herb Schell, 71, a resident of Albuquerque since 1960, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2000. Herb enjoyed fishing, rodeo, trips to Las Vegas, and was a loyal Lobo fan. He is survived by his wife, Margie of Albuquerque; son, Gerald and wife, Robbie of Los Lunas; daughters, Cheryl Polnaszek, Lavonna Blye and Sandra Beasley and husband, Jack; step-son, David Fladseth and wife, Marina; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Richard Shaw; and numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial service will be Saturday, April 29, 2000, 10:00 a.m., at Hillcrest Funeral Home, with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. Paul Gregory Sosa, born on May 9, 1966, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2000. He was preceded in death by his parents, Moises and Lugarda (Laura) Sosa; a brother, Steve Sosa; and grandparents, Eufemia and Juan Garcia. Paul is survived by three sisters, Frances and husband, Allen Colwell, Angela and husband, Daryl Fluke, and Jesse Sosa; also surviving are eight nieces and nephews, and many aunts and uncles. Paul was a lifelong resident of Bernalillo, where his presence was a positive consequence of the town's regard and acceptance of it's individuals. He was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, loved music and was a Mariachi enthusiast. He was very family centered and loved tradition. Paul was appreciated by both students and staff of the Bernalillo School system, where he graduated in 1987. Paul was an active participant of Share Your Care of Rio Rancho, where his presence was a positive contribution. The family expresses their great appreciation to Share Your Care for helping Paul take pleasure in his life. Visitation will be Sunday, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., in the chapel of Alameda Mortuary. Thomas Daniel Stromberg, born May 5, 1953 in Albuquerque, died Monday, April 17, 2000, in a traffic accident in San Mateo, CA. Tom's charismatic personality brought spirit, creativity, adventure, and a sense of fun to both his family, and hundreds of devoted friends in San Mateo and San Francisco CA, and Seattle, WA. Tom leaves behind a distinguished career in Information Systems, most recently serving as CIO for Walmart.com. He held similar positions in banking and retail services, but more than anything, Tom was a totally dedicated family man. Tom leaves behind Louise, his beloved wife of 17 years; his sons, John and Michael; and his daughter, Katherine. No child was without a playmate if Tom was nearby, and the Stromberg home was a constant center of action, sports and play, always open to friends and visitors. Tom attended St. Pius X High School and the University of New Mexico. Tom is also survived by his parents, Patricia and Robert; sisters, Mary Ann and Marcella (Albuquerque); brother, Mark (Carmel Valley, CA), Peter and James (Albuquerque), Paul (Portland, OR); and numerous nieces and nephews. His brothers, Joseph and John preceded him in death. Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, April 24, 2000, at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church, Burlingame, CA. Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Chapel, 7500 Paseo del Norte, with Father Jerry Plotkowski, Celebrant. Kathleen J. Thompson, 83, a resident of Albuquerque for 55 years, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, April 25, 2000. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Donner and husband, Jack and Betty Bruskas and husband, Tom; granddaughter, Karen Britt and husband, Craig; grandsons, David Bruskas and wife, Kara, Bill Bruskas and wife, Buffy; nine great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins. God used her mightily within her own family and her church family. Her family is forever grateful that she left them such a godly heritage. She faithfully served at First Presbyterian Church 50 years as a greeter, Sunday School teacher, deacon, and elder. She is currently a member of Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where her grandson, David leads an outreach ministry (Midtown Fellowship). A Memorial service will be held Saturday, April 29, 2000, 10:00 a.m., at Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 8600 Academy Rd. NE, with Pastor David Bruskas officiating. Helene Walsh, 70, passed away in her sleep after a long illness on Thursday, April 27, 2000. Her husband, Patrick, her children Michael, Teresa and Colleen, and her granddaughters, Heather and Chelsea survive her. The family wishes to express special appreciation to Ida Perez and Sandia Hospice for outstanding support during this difficult time. Sister Mary Amidea Wrzesinksi, 67, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2000 in the Felician Sister's Convent. Sister Amidea served the Lord and His people as a woman religious for 48 years. Of these, she spent 44 years teaching elementary school students in Oklahoma, Nebraska and Texas. For 13 of those years she was both principal and teacher. During the final year of her life, Sister Amidea tutored elementary students at St. Felix Pantry in Rio Rancho. She is fondly remembered by those she taught and worked with as an excellent and dedicated educator. She was generous with her time, possessed a great sense of humor, and faced difficulties with determination and patience. Sister Amidea was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas Wrzesinski and Josephine Syzdek Wrzesinski; a sister, Sister Mary Josetta Wrzesinski, also a Felician Sister; and two brothers, Albert and Simon Wrzesinski. She is survived by two sisters, Julia Lehoski of Pearland, Texas and Mary Johnston of Bedford, Texas; four brothers, Stash Wrezesinski of Ft. Worth, Texas, Ted Wrzesinski of Berwyn, Illinois, Roman Wrzesinski of Ft. Worth, Texas and Johnny Wrzesinski of Waxahachie, Texas. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Rio Rancho, today, Friday, April 28, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Cecil Kleber, OFM as the celebrant. Interment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements by Vista Verde Mortuary.

WILLIAM E. FONES, 85, of Santa Fe, died Wednesday. He was born March 9, 1915, in Clayton. After high school he worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps in El Rito and Vallecitos. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was stationed on the USS Lexington during World War II. He was a yeoman serving in the Philippines, Hawaii, as well as Japan after its surrender. He married Jewell King in 1939 and, after her death 12 years later, married Wanda Kerns. Fones worked for Coca-Cola Bottling Co. in Santa Fe and later worked for Rocky Mountain Wholesale, as well as the 7-Up Bottling Co. In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Joy Amiday. He is survived by a son, Bill Fones, Jr. of Santa Fe; a step-daughter, Karlene Ellis; one brother, Gayle Fones and wife Elizabeth, and their families in Edmund, Okla.; a sister-in-law, Zelma Fones of Clayton; and, numerous friends and neighbors throughout northern New Mexico. Visitation will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Berardinelli Family Chapel. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Berardinelli Family Chapel. Burial will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. JOE (JOSE MARIA) HERRERA, 53, of Nambé died Wednesday. He was a graduate of Pojoaque High School and New Mexico State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering. He was preceded in death by his father, Eloy Herrera Sr; and his grandparents, Jose Maria and Julianita Ortiz, and David and Manuelita Herrera. He is survived by his wife, Frances; children Diane, Joe M. Jr. and fiancée Sarah, and Tony; one grandchild; his mother, Guadalupe; brothers and sisters Teodolo Herrera, Eloy and Isabel Herrera, Minnie and Andres Bobby Vigil, Lydia and Joe Archuleta, Abby and Phil Salazar, Shirley and Charlie Hernandez, Jesus Herrera, Sammy and Lori Herrera, Tommy Herrera, Julie and Preston Roberts, Timmy Herrera and Lucrecia, and Donald Herrera and Joy; and numerous other relatives. Visitation will be at 5:30 p.m. today at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Nambé and a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. in the church. CHARLES E. NIEMAN, 76, of Santa Fe, died Monday. He was born April 11, 1924, in Trinidad, Colo., to the late Charles A. and Dora Yuszkiewich Nieman. He was a lifelong resident of New Mexico and a graduate of Santa Fe High School. He served in the Pacific Theater in the U.S. Navy during World War II. When he returned from the war, he joined the Mountain Bell Telephone and Telegraph Company. He ultimately retired from the company as a supervisor in 1976. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mercedes; a brother, Larry B. Nieman; and a sister, Helen A. Nieman. He is survived by his children, Charles L. Nieman of Kent, Ohio, Michael B. Nieman of Albuquerque, Karen A. Aragon of Parker, Colo., and Randall T. Nieman of Santa Fe; and seven grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at the Blessed Sacrament Chapel at St. Francis Cathedral. Burial will be private. Virginia Rae Patek Anderson went to be with our Lord on Thursday, April 26, 2001. Ginny was born on November 11, 1934 in Milwaukee, WI. She was adopted by loving parents, Gertrude and Alfred Patek. She was a graduate of Marquette School of Nursing. She married Neil "Larry" Anderson on January 5, 1957. Ginny and Larry and their six children moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1970. Ginny spent her life giving and serving others as a nurse at Lovelace Medical Center. She spent 15 years caring for patients on the medical unit, then five years in the Oncology/Hematology Department. Retirement in 1994 gave her the opportunity to enjoy traveling with her lifelong friend Larry and to become her grandchildren's "Greatest Fan ", as she supported them in a variety of activities. She is preceded in death by her parents. Her legacy of love continues through her husband, Larry Anderson of Albuquerque; her mother-in-law, Marguerite Anderson of Albuquerque; her children, Bruce Anderson and his wife, La Nell and their children, Craig, Thomas and Elizabeth of Albuquerque, Sharon Mikkelson and her husband, Don of Los Alamos, Gary Anderson and his wife, Annette and their children, Jordan and Taylor of Austin, TX, Cindy Dickson and her children, Kristy and Danny of Albuquerque, Ken Anderson of Dallas, TX, Christine Dietz and her husband, Andy and their children, Brant, Amanda, Madison and Joshua of Houston, TX. Michelle D. Arnett, age 39, a resident of Bernalillo, NM. The Arnett & Sisneros Families would like to thank everyone who gave support to Michelle for the past year. We would like to especially thank Dr. Richard Giudice & his staff, all the nurses on the fifth floor at the main Presbyterian Hospital, the nurses at Presbyterian Kaseman (Hospice) Hospital, Calvary Chapel Pastor Neil Ortiz for a beautiful service last Monday, Herman Jaramillo at American Legion Post 69 for the hall, Michelle's bible study group at Calvary for the food and kindness, Deacon Pilar Garcia from Queen of Heaven Church for the communion service and burial last Thursday, the staff at Gates of Heaven and everyone who gave Platelets and blood we hope you continue to give. Mary Wauneita of Bosque Farms, surrounded by family and friends, returned home to the Lord Tuesday, April 24, 2001. Family includes four sons and their spouses, James L. Booth and wife, Donna, Roni G. Booth and Barbara Roensch, David R. Booth and Helen Burwell, Kenneth D. Booth and Karen Mills; eight grandchildren, Richard S. Booth, Michael A. Booth, Michelle L. Duncan, Danielle L. Rowland, Amie D. Booth, Kimberle A. Booth, Lisa R. Booth and Matthew D. Booth; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, James D Taylor and wife, Thelma, Donald W. Taylor and wife, Kay: sisters, Laveta Phillips and husband, Elmer, Vaneta Brach and husband, Earl, and Darlene Cochran and husband Gerald. A sister, Charlene Young and husband, Jim Mann Booth preceded her in death. Wauneita, born June 22, 1920 in Burneyville, OK, raised in Olton, TX, married Jim Booth April 5, 1941. They raised their children in Dolores, CO until moving the family to Albuquerque in 1958, then relocating to Bosque Farms in 1969. She used her artistic talents as a confectioner, an accordion player and a painter to brighten the lives of those who knew her. She was a strong spirited woman, whose love of family, gardening and painting was surpassed only by her love of the Lord. Ana M. Edwards, age 91, died Thursday, April 26, 2001 at a local nursing home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Major General Parmer W. Edwards U.S.A.R. and her brother, Sir James Carreras. She is survived by her cousin, Edward Sturrp of Massachusetts; and niece by marriage, Mrs. Michael Carreras. She was active in the Assistance League of Albuquerque. She volunteered in the Bargain Box for many years. After retiring from the US Army, the couple lived in Florida and moved to Albuquerque about 1980. First they lived in a home in Four Hills and later at the Landmark Apartments. Eight years after the death of her husband, she went to the Lord. Memorial Mass will be held Monday, April 30, 2001 in the Kirtland Catholic Chapel, 1950 2nd St. SE on Kirtland Air Force Base at 11:00 a.m. Father Raymond Lamy will celebrate the Mass. Interment will follow in the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. The arrangements for Ana M. Edwards are under the direction of the Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal SE.

Clarissa Matteson Parsons Fuller, 97, died Tuesday, April 24, 2001 after a long period of failing health. Clarissa was born into a distinguished family in Chicago, IL, in July 1903. Her mother, Clara Matteson Doolittle, was a graduate of Smith College, Northhampton, MA. Her father, Harry Robert Parsons, was an attorney and a noted bass singer in Chicago area oratorios as well as an outstanding athlete. The family, including Clarissa and her brothers, William Sterling Parsons and Critchell Parsons, moved to Fort Sumner, NM in the early 1900s. Her half-brother, Harry Robert Parsons, continues to live there. William Sterling Parsons graduated from Annapolis and became a physicist and Rear Admiral. He was closely involved with the beginnings of radar and the proximity fuse, and was one of the pioneers of the Manhattan Project in Los Alamos. He was the 'weaponeer" on the Enola Gay, which dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima, effectively ending World War II in the Pacific. Critchell Parsons graduated from UNM, where he won the Sigma Chi Balfour Award and went on to Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar. Clarissa Fuller received three academic degrees from UNM where she was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority, Mortar Board and Phi Kappa Phi, and was one of the first women to earn her doctorate. She was married to Rice Bagby "Doc" Fuller, and is survived by two children, Dr. F.W. Fuller of Short Hills, NJ, and Hester Fuller Eastham, of Albuquerque; eight grandchildren, William, Clarissa, Miranda, Sebastian, and Nicholas Eastham, and Julie Fallon, Hester Fuller and Rice Bagby Fuller; as well as five great-grandchildren. Other survivors are her half-brother; and three nieces, Peggy Bowdich, Clare Parsons and Sandra Parsons. Rosa Maria Grado-Bennett, 54, a resident of Bosque Farms, peacefully passed away at her home in Bosque Farms after a long illness on Tuesday, April 10, 2001. She was an active member of the Potter's House Christian Center in Los Lunas. She worked for the Los Lunas Hospital and Training School for 11 years as a QMRP (Qualified Mental Retardation Professional) until the closure of the school. Before her employment with Los Lunas Hospital and Training School, she worked for various organizations as a social worker receiving her Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Washington in 1973 and Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism with a minor in Portuguese at the University of New Mexico in 1968. She is survived by her husband of five years, Alfred Bennett III of the family home; her son, Leo Wagener of Bosque Farms; and her children, Carrie Morez and husband, Alton of Ft. Hood, TX, Shawna Bennett, Cherolynda Bennett Yazzie, Jessie Ruth Bennett, all of Albuquerque, and Alfred Bennett, IV of Ft. Hood, TX; four grandchildren; her parents, Miguel "Mike" and Josie Grado; one brother, Rudy Grado and wife, Jan; two sisters, Irma and Patty Grado, all of Albuquerque; two nephews, Ian and Matt Grado; and one niece, Sarah Grado. Rosa is also survived by her loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2001 at Saint Anne Church, 1400 Arenal Rd. SW in Albuquerque. Clarence L. Griffith, III, 57, a resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, April 23, 2001. He is survived by his parents, C. Lyndon and Irene Gladys Griffith of Elkhart, Kansas; sister, Catherine Ann Griffith of Vancouver, WA; brother, Quintin L. Griffith and wife, Margaret of Chickasha, OK; niece, Cara and nephew, Tim of Vancouver, WA. Clarence was an expert in everything. He farmed for many years, had a pilot's license, a commercial driver's license, and had a love for cars and car racing. Robert W. Kee, of Albuquerque, died suddenly at his home on April 25, 2001. He was a resident of Albuquerque since 1985. He was born in Elgin, Illinois and moved to New Mexico in 1950 where he was employed at the Los Alamos National Labs. He was involved in testing at Eniwetok, Bikini, Nevada and he worked at J-6, J-7, J-15 and DP West plutonium Lab in Los Alamos. He was a member of the Trinity section of the American Nuclear Society and Robotics and remote systems and active in developing standards for hot cell design. After leaving the Labs, he was employed at General Atomics, Westinghouse and Parsons Engineering. He is survived by his daughter, Ginger Hayes and her husband, Warren; daughter-in-law, Betty Kee of Los Alamos; grandchildren, Connie Hayes, Rob Kee and Elizabeth Kee; greatgrandchildren, Tony, Scott and Sammy Hayes; his dear friend, Jean Howell; and his sister, Beverly Koehn and her husband, Art of Twin Lakes, WI. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; son, Wilson; grandson, Chuck; sister, Millie; and brother, Harry. He was a member of the St. John's United Methodist Church. Memorial Services will be held at St. John's at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 28, 2001. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Mortuary, West Covina, California. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the St. John's United Methodist Church Pipe Organ Fund or to the New Mexico Chapter of the American Parkinson's Disease Association, c/o Bob Dunagan, President 10817 Griffith Park Drive, NE, Albuquerque, NM 87123.

Virgil Morgan, 63, passed away as a result of an accident on April 22, 2001. He worked at Padilla's Restaurant and La Mesa Inn (formerly the Sandia Inn) for the past 20 years. Survived by his long time companion, Frances Dalton and many friends. A Memorial Service will be held at La Mesa Inn 4007 Menaul Blvd. NE at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2001.
