Charles E. Nieman, age 76. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 1, 10:00 a.m., at the Blessed Sacrament Chapel at St. Francis Cathedral. Interment will be private and will be accomplished at a later date when all family members can be present. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the Patient Advocacy Program at St. Vincent Hospital or your favorite charity. H.E. "Buddy" Noel passed away April 23, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Noel of Albuquerque; daughters, Patsy Noel of Lubbock, TX and Sue Noel of Albuquerque; son, John Noel of California; daughter, Angie Adoberavoski and husband, Maxim of Albuquerque; sons, Tony Giangola and wife, MaryAnn, Michael Giangola and wife, Charlene, Robert Giangola, all of Albuquerque; daughters, Tina Leon, Debbie Ramsey and husband, Jim, both of California, and Lori Scholl and husband, Tim of Los Lunas; son, Steven Giangola of Albuquerque; daughter, Kim Giangola of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Jessica and Nikkita Noel of Albuquerque, Aarron and Kysch Adoberavoski of Albuquerque, Tonya and Troy Giangola of Albuquerque, Kelsea and Billy Giangola of Albuquerque, DJ and Nicole Giangola of Albuquerque, Lawrence and Matthew Leon of California, Julie and Dennis Ramsey of California, Amanda Scholl of Los Lunas, Alicia Giangola and Taylor Giangola, both of Albuquerque; and great-grandchild, Gabriel Noel of Albuquerque. Buddy served his country for 22 years as a flight engineer and served three tours in Vietnam. Cremation has taken place. Flora (Baba) Nolasco, age 57, beloved and devoted mother, daughter, sister and friend, was called home to be with the Lord, Thursday, April 27, 2000. Baba, as everyone knew her, was born on July 17, 1942 in Albuquerque; she was a lifelong resident of Alameda; a parishioner of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, and a member of the American Legion, Post 69, Lady's Auxiliary. Baba was a caring, helpful and fun person, who enjoyed family get-togethers and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Maria Nolasco. She is survived by her two loving children, Elisa (Lisa) Nolasco and Samuel (Sammy) Nolasco, both of the family home; her father, Meliton Nolasco also of the family home; two sisters, Dorothy Santillanes and husband, Andrew of Albuquerque and Rosemary Paez and husband, Rey of Belen; four brothers, Rudy Nolasco and wife, Ramona of Albuquerque, Meliton Nolasco Jr. and wife, Rosemarie, Florence Nolasco and Armida, Bill Nolasco and wife, Diane, all of California; two very special friends who stood by her side, Jeanette Saiz and Darlene LeChuga; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other friends. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and those who loved and knew her. On behalf of the family, sincere appreciation is extended to the Hospice Caregivers, good friends, Jeanette and Darlene for all the loving care and support given during Baba's illness. Gailya "Gail" Orona, 64, a resident of Albuquerque since 1997, died Wednesday, April 26, 2000. She is survived by her husband, Rick Orona of Albuquerque; children, Timothy Mark Castleberry of Ridgecrest, CA, Melody Sedillo and husband, Frank of Santa Fe, Kitty Romero and husband, Gabe of Rio Rancho, Becky Hall and husband, Doug of Memphis, TN, Joseph Castleberry and wife, Ginger of Oklahoma City, OK, and Nancy Jones and husband, Jeff of Oklahoma City, OK; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brothers, Jim Smith and wife, Kay of Cabot, AR, and John Smith and wife, Lena of Santa Fe. Mrs. Orona was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Gale. Services will be held in Waxahachie, TX at a later date. Interment will take place at Mountain Peak Cemetery, Mountain Peak, Texas. Herb Schell, 71, a resident of Albuquerque since 1960, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2000. Herb enjoyed fishing, rodeo, trips to Las Vegas, and was a loyal Lobo fan. He is survived by his wife, Margie of Albuquerque; son, Gerald and wife, Robbie of Los Lunas; daughters, Cheryl Polnaszek, Lavonna Blye and Sandra Beasley and husband, Jack; step-son, David Fladseth and wife, Marina; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Richard Shaw; and numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial service will be Saturday, April 29, 2000, 10:00 a.m., at Hillcrest Funeral Home, with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. Paul Gregory Sosa, born on May 9, 1966, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2000. He was preceded in death by his parents, Moises and Lugarda (Laura) Sosa; a brother, Steve Sosa; and grandparents, Eufemia and Juan Garcia. Paul is survived by three sisters, Frances and husband, Allen Colwell, Angela and husband, Daryl Fluke, and Jesse Sosa; also surviving are eight nieces and nephews, and many aunts and uncles. Paul was a lifelong resident of Bernalillo, where his presence was a positive consequence of the town's regard and acceptance of it's individuals. He was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, loved music and was a Mariachi enthusiast. He was very family centered and loved tradition. Paul was appreciated by both students and staff of the Bernalillo School system, where he graduated in 1987. Paul was an active participant of Share Your Care of Rio Rancho, where his presence was a positive contribution. The family expresses their great appreciation to Share Your Care for helping Paul take pleasure in his life. Visitation will be Sunday, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., in the chapel of Alameda Mortuary. Kathleen J. Thompson, 83, a resident of Albuquerque for 55 years, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, April 25, 2000. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Donner and husband, Jack and Betty Bruskas and husband, Tom; granddaughter, Karen Britt and husband, Craig; grandsons, David Bruskas and wife, Kara, Bill Bruskas and wife, Buffy; nine great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins. God used her mightily within her own family and her church family. Her family is forever grateful that she left them such a godly heritage. She faithfully served at First Presbyterian Church 50 years as a greeter, Sunday School teacher, deacon, and elder. She is currently a member of Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where her grandson, David leads an outreach ministry (Midtown Fellowship). A Memorial service will be held Saturday, April 29, 2000, 10:00 a.m., at Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 8600 Academy Rd. NE, with Pastor David Bruskas officiating. Helene Walsh, 70, passed away in her sleep after a long illness on Thursday, April 27, 2000. Her husband, Patrick, her children Michael, Teresa and Colleen, and her granddaughters, Heather and Chelsea survive her. The family wishes to express special appreciation to Ida Perez and Sandia Hospice for outstanding support during this difficult time. ANNIE M. CORDOVA, 96, of Las Vegas since 1965 and former resident of Rainsville and Wyoming died Wednesday following an extended illness. She was born in La Cueva on April 9, 1904, to the late Epifanio Jose Mascareņas and Conception Gonzales Mascareņas. A lifelong Catholic, she was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, former mayordoma at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Rainsville and a member of the Carmelite Association. She was preceded in death by her parents Epifanio Jose and Conception Mascareņas; granddaughter, Joyce Solis; grandson, Johnny Vigil; first husband, Federico Vigil; second husband Roman Cordova; sons-in-law Henry Armijo and Arthur Solis; brother, Tomas Mascareņas; She is survived by her children Alfonso Vigil and wife Marcia, Ceralia Solis, all of Cheyenne, Wyo., Elvira Armijo of Rialto, Calif., Arthur Vigil, Antonia Rodriguez and husband Benardo, Mary Vigil all of Las Vegas, and Stella Rodgers and husband Richard of Watrous; step-daughter Margaret Hernandez and husband Diego; 24 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Placida Mascareņas of Denver; first-cousin Lillian Sanchez of Buena Vista; and numerous other relatives and friends. GENARO L. GARCIA, 78, of Santa Fe, died Thursday. He was a prominent businessman and former co-owner of G & G Heating, Inc., and was well known as Jerry to his family and friends. He was born in Moriarty on April 10, 1922, to the late Augustine and Petrona Garcia. He served in World War II with the Corps of Engineers, U.S. Army from 1942-1945, where he was decorated with the Bronze and Silver Star for gallantry in action on Luzon, Philippines Islands, April 25-26, 1945. He was a member of the VFW and La Union Protectiva. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Louise (Muller) Garcia; and grandson, Matthew Garcia. He is survived by his daughters Cecilia B. Padilla and husband Roger, Nora M. Vigil and husband Dennis of Denver, and Dorothy M. Davis and husband Barry of Colorado Springs; sons Henry G. Garcia and wife Darlene, George Garcia and friend Starine Soard; a niece, Jeanette Montaņo and husband Ricky; godson, Rudy Sandoval and wife Cecilia; grandchildren Ted Padilla and friend Anthony Garcia, Rosalyn Salazar and husband Steve, Nicole Goos and husband Rob, Devin Vigil and wife Janel, Tammy Garcia and friend Josh Castro, Jerome A. CARLOTA S. JIMENEZ, 79, of Tesuque Village died Thursday after a lengthy illness. She is survived by her sister Margarita Gonzales of Tesuque; also numerous other relatives. ERNESTO FELICIANO PADILLA, 66, of Santa Fe died Wednesday. He was born September 1, 1933, in Antonito, Colorado. He grew up in the Lincoln Projects in Denver. He had been previously employed as a computer analyst for about 18 years with Farmer's Union in Denver before moving to Santa Fe in 1978. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and a member of the Air Transport Squadron 21 during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Seniors of Santa Fe and a Veteran's Chaplain at the VFW for two years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlos and Helena Padilla; and a brother, Rudy Padilla. He is survived by his children Ernie R. Padilla, Felicia A. Padilla, Peter A. Padilla, Ph.D., Patricia T. Padilla and Mikki L. Padilla; granddaughter, Danielle N. Padilla; brother, Carlos; sisters Angelina, Evangelina and Lita; also numerous other relatives and friends. ANDALECIO ROMERO, 77, of Tecolotito died Tuesday. He was born September 14, 1922, to the late Estevan Romero and Maria Apolonia Archibique. He was married to Rita Urioste and retired from the N.M. Highway Department. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sons Jose Estevan Romero and Larry Wayne Romero; and mother-in-law, Eloisa Urioste. He is survived by his wife Rita Apolonia Romero of Tecolotito; sons Art Romero and wife Marie of Tecolotito, Jose Eufemio Romero and wife Diane of Puerto de Luna, Masedon Romero, and Felipe Romero of Tecolotito; daughter, Maria Romero of Tecolotito; brother, Santiago Romero of Tucson; sister, Dionicia Encinias of Tecolotito; 20 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Anton Chico. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday also at St. Joseph's Church. Thomas E. "Tommy" Allen, 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1947, died Friday, April 27, 2001. He is survived by his daughter, Judy King of Belmont, CA; granddaughter, Karen King of Alturas, CA; grandson, Mark King and wife, Evro of Redwood City, CA; great-granddaughters, Shannon and Cheyenne King of Alturas, CA; great-grandson, Joseph King of Redwood City, CA; and special friend, Mary Lou Harmening of Tome, NM. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Allen. During his years in the construction industry he worked for Vinell in Colorado constructing dams and in Las Vegas as superintendent building homes. During the war he worked in Hawthorne, NV for a construction company, and in Albuquerque for Mossman-Gladden and Wylie Brothers. He retired from Gross Construction in 1981. Virginia Rae Patek Anderson went to be with our Lord on Thursday, April 26, 2001. Ginny was born on November 11, 1934 in Milwaukee, WI. She was adopted by loving parents, Gertrude and Alfred Patek. She was a graduate of Marquette School of Nursing. She married Neil "Larry" Anderson on January 5, 1957. Ginny and Larry and their six children moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1970. Ginny spent her life giving and serving others as a nurse at Lovelace Medical Center. She spent 15 years caring for patients on the medical unit, then five years in the Oncology/Hematology Department. Retirement in 1994 gave her the opportunity to enjoy traveling with her lifelong friend Larry and to become her grandchildren's "Greatest Fan ", as she supported them in a variety of activities. She is preceded in death by her parents. Her legacy of love continues through her husband, Larry Anderson of Albuquerque; her mother-in-law, Marguerite Anderson of Albuquerque; her children, Bruce Anderson and his wife, La Nell and their children, Craig, Thomas and Elizabeth of Albuquerque, Sharon Mikkelson and her husband, Don of Los Alamos, Gary Anderson and his wife, Annette and their children, Jordan and Taylor of Austin, TX, Cindy Dickson and her children, Kristy and Danny of Albuquerque, Ken Anderson of Dallas, TX, Christine Dietz and her husband, Andy and their children, Brant, Amanda, Madison and Joshua of Houston, TX. Olaf Angevine, 84, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away April 24, 2001. His wife, Nancy Simmons; daughter, Helen Lewis and husband, Joe; son, Dorian Angevine, all of Brooklyn, NY; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and two brothers survive him. Michelle D. Arnett, age 39, a resident of Bernalillo, NM. The Arnett & Sisneros Families would like to thank everyone who gave support to Michelle for the past year. We would like to especially thank Dr. Richard Giudice & his staff, all the nurses on the fifth floor at the main Presbyterian Hospital, the nurses at Presbyterian Kaseman (Hospice) Hospital, Calvary Chapel Pastor Neil Ortiz for a beautiful service last Monday, Herman Jaramillo at American Legion Post 69 for the hall, Michelle's bible study group at Calvary for the food and kindness, Deacon Pilar Garcia from Queen of Heaven Church for the communion service and burial last Thursday, the staff at Gates of Heaven and everyone who gave Platelets and blood we hope you continue to give. Finally, most of all we would like to thank all of the special friends who went out of there way this last year to help Joe & Michelle with the kids and the shop in there time of need. Ruth Reed Austin, 91, born August 10, 1909, passed away April 12, 2001. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney O. Austin; son, Robert D. Austin; granddaughter, Tiffany Austin; brothers, Homer and Gray Reed; sisters, Ella Reed Morrow and Lorena Reed. A resident of Albuquerque in the early 1940's, she and her husband moved to Fallbrook, CA in the 1970's and returned to Albuquerque in 1990. She is survived by her grandson, Richard A. Austin, Washington State; and granddaughter, Stephanie Castell, N. Carolina; her great-grandson, Sidney Robert Austin; and daughter-in-law, Adina Sowle, Washington State; nieces, May Anne Hill and Jean Vandecar, Albuquerque; and several other relatives. A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held Friday, May 4, 2001, 2:00 p.m. at La Vida Llena, 10501 Lagrima de Oro, followed by a reception. Roy E. Beckelhiemer, 88, a resident of Rio Rancho, died Wednesday, April 25, 2001. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Juanita Beckelhiemer of the family home; daughter, Janice Brandon and husband, Eldon of West Virginia; son, Roger Beckelhiemer and wife, Toni of Rio Rancho; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and sister, Leona Girox of Augusta, ME. Roy was an honorary member in the Iron Workers Local Union #495. Memorial services were held Friday, April 27, 2001 at 3:30 p.m., at French Mortuary, Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course NW. Florence "Flo" Borrowdale, a resident of Belen, passed away due to her failing health on Friday, April 27, at the age of 85. She was born on August 11, 1915 in Chicago, Illinois and in 1946 she moved with her family to the Army Courts in Belen. Flo and her late husband, Hank, founded the Belen Bottling Company "Hub City Pop" in 1961. Later Flo began her banking career at the Belen National Bank and subsequently became Vice-President of Belen Savings and Loan, retiring after 35 years of service. Flo was an excellent cook and hostess to her many family and friends. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed a challenging game against her husband and sons. She also enjoyed playing cards, swimming, golf, and dancing to the Big Band Music with her husband. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Henry Borrowdale; her parents; one brother; and three sisters. She is survived by her two sons, Larry and wife, Judy; Jim and wife, Vicky, both of Albuquerque; one sister, Rita Mints and her husband, Charlie of Chicago; four grandchildren, Helley Butches of Colorado; Steve Borrowdale; Linda Mitchell and husband, Dale; Chrissy Borrowdale, all of Albuquerque; five great-grandchildren; and her many loving nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place at the request of the deceased. Fred Chavez Jr., 47, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on April 26, 2001. Mr. Chavez is survived by his mother, Mrs. Emelda Chavez; his wife, Sandra Tuitoelau; five children, Esther Tuitoelau, Sarah Chavez, Abram Chavez, Nathan Chavez and Tara Chavez; one grandson, Christian Tuitoelau. Mr. Chavez was preceded in death by his father, Fred Chavez Sr. and his brother, Rudy Chavez. Mr. Chavez was a member of the Catholic Church. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW from 4:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 5:00 p.m. by his aunt, Logie Sanchez.
