Douglas R. Ball, 47, a native of Albuquerque, died Saturday, April 24, 1999 after a long illness. A devoted son, brother, uncle, friend and neighbor, he was preceded in death by his parents, Myrl W. and Gladys F. Ball; and his oldest sister, Anne Marie Ball. He is survived by his sister, Alice C. Rakes of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; three brothers, Roy E. Ball and Nelson T. Ball of Albuquerque, and Kenneth M. Ball of Conifer, Colorado; three nephews; two nieces and many wonderful friends and relatives of all ages. Doug was a graduate of Valley High School and the University of Albuquerque, a Sunday school teacher and a choir member at Harwood United Methodist Church. A Memorial Service will be held at Harwood United Methodist Church, 420 San Lorenzo NW, Alb, NM 87107, Saturday, May 1, at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harwood.

Tom Berry, 72, was born on December 18, 1926 in Raton, NM, a resident of La Cueva since 1970, died Tuesday, April 27, 1999. He is survived by his brother, F. Patrick Berry and wife, Connie of Los Lunas; sister, Ellen Starkovich and husband, Bill of Edgewood; 13 nieces and nephews; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; brother-in-law, Ed Tackett of T or C; sister-in-law, Eleanor Berry of Pueblo, CO; and dear friends, Joe Grider, Justin Grider and Jeff Grider, all of La Cueva. Mr. Berry was preceded in death by his parents, John and Aileen Berry; brothers, John Berry Jr., Eugene Berry and Daniel Berry; sister, Marjorie Tackett; and dear friend, Linda Grider. Mass will be celebrated Friday, 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Jemez Springs, with Fr. James Sampson, s.P., Celebrant. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Grider, Joe Grider, Justin Grider, Bill Starkovich, Matt Starkovich and Daniel Berry. The Mass of Catholic Burial for Mr. Federico Martinez Carrillo, Ph.D. will be celebrated on Friday, 10:00 a.m., at Queen of Heaven with interment to follow at the Valencia Cemetery, Our Lady of Guadalupe. Pallbearers will be Andrew Medina, Robert Shadoan, Randy Cole, Carlos Abeyta, Leo Marquez, Luther Garcia, Darryl Shaddan, Alfredo Chavez, Pete Ulibarri and Tom Chavez. Open viewing will be held on Friday morning, from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m., at the Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 3rd St. SW.

Michael Desdon Cator, age 49, passed away at home on April 27, 1999. He was born to William Desdon and Mary Louise Cator on April 28, 1949 in San Francisco, CA. He is survived by his wife, Sheryl of the family home; step-daughter, Jessica Bourque of Rio Rancho; two sisters; one brother; and very special friends, Elmo and Jean Whitmore and Jim Beard of Rio Rancho. Mr. Cator lived in this area for 12 years, ten of them in Rio Rancho. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and a member of American Legion Post #118. Mr. Cator also was known for his involvement starting a military badge memorial that is currently on display at the American Legion Post #118. He served his country with two tours in Vietnam and one tour in Korea. Michael was a sharpshooter and loved great shooting. He was an animal lover and did lots of bartering with his friends. Mr. Cator was a certified Journeyman automotive mechanic and worked as a fleet inspection specialist at Los Alamos National Laboratory. He was a very loving, protective and supportive husband and step-father. Michael loved helping people and all his special friends. A memorial service is pending at the American Legion Post #118 with Post Chaplain Thomas Egan officiating. Please contact Rio Rancho Funeral Home for details. Terezain Colson, 88, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away early Wednesday morning. Mrs. Colson was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Colson; her parents, Emmanuel and Eda Roque; brother, Anthony Roque; and a sister, Marie Satchez. She is survived by one brother, Edgar Roque; a foster brother, Anthony Llorens, both of Albuquerque; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitations will be today, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., in the chapel of Garcia Mortuary, on the corner of 8th and Stover. A Rosary will be recited this evening, 7:00 p.m., at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. also at the church. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Jim Satchez, Bernie Salazar, Manuel Salazar, J.C. Roque, Christopher Lind and Charles Jojola. Honorary bearers will be Edgar Roque, Charles Roque, Anthony Lind, Mike Jojola and Ernest Salazar. For floral assistance, please call 243-5222. Michal Joan Fuller, 51, of Tucson, died Thursday, April 22, 1999. She is survived by her parents, Francis and Marybelle Fuller; sisters, Dona Fuller Krueger of Salt Lake City, UT, Diane Fuller Johnson of Tucson, Frances Darlene Fuller of Las Cruces; and many loved nieces and nephews. Michal received her M.Ed. from the University of Utah and was a Special Education Teacher in Albuquerque and Las Cruces. She was a member of Desert Valley Seventh Day Adventist Church. Arrangements by Heather Mortuary, an aftercare provider.

Doreas Lopez Garza, 78, a resident of Piedmont, AL from 1980 until 1991 at which time she moved to Albuquerque, died Thursday, April 29, 1999. She was the oldest of 13 children born to Miqueas and Rebecca Lopez of San Benito, TX. She is survived by her son, William R. Carter, Jr., and wife, Mildred Rebecca Carter of Pace, FL; daughter, Dorothy Jean Steed and husband, Sam C. Steed of Piedmont, AL; granddaughters, Wendi Carter and Randi Carter, both of Pace, FL, and Cristin Steed of Piedmont, AL; loving companion, William R. Carter, Sr. of Albuquerque; brothers and sisters, Esther L. Alvarez of Arkansas, Manases Lopez of Houston, TX, Elizabeth L. Bueno of San Marino, CA, Jonathan Lopez of Converse, TX, Dina L. Bower, Louisville, KY, Mary Ann Henault of Watauge, TX, Rebecca Guajardo, San Antonio, TX, Patsy Lopez of Corpus Christi, TX, and Jovita Rossy of Corpus Christi, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Cristoforo F. Garza. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister and she will be missed by all. Services will be held Wednesday, May 5, 1999, 2:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Piedmont, AL. Interment will follow at Piedmont Memorial Gardens. Ralph Gonzales, 71, a resident of Albuquerque for 35 years, died Wednesday, April 28, 1999. He is survived by his three sons; three daughters; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandsons. Mr. Gonzales was retired from the City of Albuquerque. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose East Heights Lodge #2241 and also the Fraternity of Eagles. Memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday, 11:00 a.m., at Holy Family Church, 562 Atrisco Dr. SW, with Fr. Jack Clark Robinson, O.S.M., Celebrant. Interment will take place on Saturday in Pecos, NM. Clarence J. Huenniger, 88, a resident of the Albuquerque area since 1974, and more recently of Manzano Del Sol Good Samaritan Village, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 1999. Clarence was born December 4, 1910 near Buffalo, New York. He studied at Millard Fillmore College and the American Institute of Banking. He was employed by the Marine Trust Co. of Western New York for over 17 years before receiving training and becoming an Executive of the Boy Scouts of America and serving councils in Buffalo, Olean and Rochester, New York. Clarence retired in 1973. Clarence was an involved member of All Saints Lutheran Church, he contributed over 5000 hours as a volunteer at Lovelace hospital. Clarence is survived by his wife of nearly 64 years, Violet B. Huenniger; son, John and his wife, Virginia of Edgewood, KY, son, Gary and his wife, Sandra of Cheektowaga, NY; grandchildren, Jeffrey and his wife, Sheri and great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Andrew of Loganville, GA, Valerie of Albuquerque, James of Cincinnati, OH, Daryl of Cheektowaga, NY, Beth Nugent and her husband, David and great-grandchildren, Miles and Madeline of St. Paul, NC; a brother, Edward C. and his wife, Blanche of West Palm Beach, FL; along with two nieces and a nephew and many supportive friends in the community, especially Tom Ayer and John Silman. A memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 2, 1999 at All Saints Lutheran Church, 4800 All Saints Rd. (Coors at Paseo Del Norte) with Pastor Tim Theis officiating. Memorials may be made to the All Saints Lutheran Church, 4800 All Saints Rd., Albuquerque, NM 87120. Interment will be at Vista Verde Memorial Park, Rio Rancho, at the convenience of the family. Bruce Gene Jenkins, age 50, son of Margaret and John Hickerson, lost his battle with cancer and passed away Wednesday afternoon at his home. Memorial services will be held for his many friends and relatives, Saturday, May 1, 2:00 p.m. at his sister, Michelle's residence. Call 298-7059 for information. Rachel A. Laub passed away Monday, April 26, 1999. She was born in Albuquerque March 13, 1994. Rachel survived her first week of life against the odds, then fought adversity throughout her five years with us. She loved life to the fullest. All those she met, she enriched with her spirit. She will always live in our hearts and now guides us from above. She is survived by her parents, Tom and Julie Laub; her special brother, William Laub; her grandparents, Jo and Bill Laub and Doris and Lonnie Anderson; aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's United Methodist Church at 9500 Constitution NE at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 2. In lieu of flowers, we suggest donations to the Leukemia Society of America, the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, the American Pseudo-Obstruction and Hirschsprung's Society, or your favorite charity.

Jan Miller, 44, a resident of Albuquerque died, Wednesday, April 28, 1999. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Dennis Miller of Albuquerque; son, Adam Miller of Albuquerque; daughter, Amber Miller of Albuquerque; and sister, Joyce Confer of Ohio. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Harold William Olson, Lt. Col. Army Ordinance, Ret., 84, was born to William and Ella Beal Olson on June 25, 1914. He entered into rest on Tuesday, April 27, 1999 in Albuquerque. He proudly served his country from February 13, 1943 until April 30, 1965. He served in England, Hawaii, Germany, Taiwan, and Korea. He was the Army Ordinance advisor to the NM National Guard from 1954 to 1957 and to the Minnesota National Guard from 1960 to 1963. He was a member of St. Timothy's Lutheran Church where he was an usher for over 20 years. He was a member and past president of the Albuquerque Chapter of Retired Officers Assoc., Mesa #68 Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite of Freemason's Ballut Abyad Shrine, past commander of the Shrine Legion of Honor, past president of Sojourners Chapter #447, past commander of the Hero's of 76, Royal Order of Jesters, and the local chapter of the CCC. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy; niece, Sharon Schatz and her husband, Dr. Herman Schatz, their sons, Timothy Schatz of Chicago, Dr. Todd Schatz and his wife, Kim; nephew, Jerome Thorson and his son, Eric Thorson of Minneapolis, MN; and many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents of Kintyre, ND; sisters, Grace Ohm of Oshkosh, WI, Ruth Thorson of Minneapolis, MN; two infant sisters; and nephew, Robert Ohm of Linton, ND. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, May 4, 1999, 10:30 a.m., at St. Timothy's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 211 Jefferson NE, with Pastor Jonathan Holmer officiating. Memorial graveside services will take place at 2:30 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery, with Masonic Lodge, #68 officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Timothy's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Education Fund, 211 Jefferson NE 87108, Ballut Abyad Transportation Fund, 6600 Zuni SE 87108, or to a charity of your choice. Elsie Sanderson, 94, a resident of Albuquerque since 1967, died Wednesday, April 28, 1999. She is survived by two nieces, Doris Jean Perisho of Zearing, IA and Geraldine McCormick. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard O. Sanderson; her son, Howard M. Sanderson; her parents; and four sisters. She was born in Union, CO, IA. Elsie graduated from Shannon City Iowa High School. She was resident of Montebello since 1995. Thelma M. Smith, 88, a resident of Albuquerque since 1959, died Sunday, April 25, 1999. She is survived by her son, George J. Smith; daughters, Marquerite Bishop and Catherine Griffin; sons, Ken Smith, Don Smith, and Richard Smith, all of Albuquerque; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Rosary will be recited Thursday, April 29, 1999, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Mass will be celebrated Friday, April 30, 1999, 9:00 a.m., at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Rd. NW. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Ruby K. Suknot, 78, a resident of Albuquerque for 44 years, died Monday, April 26, 1999. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Joseph Suknot of Albuquerque; daughters, Kathleen Suknot of Los Angeles, CA, Susan Suknot of Peralta, Anita Latimer and husband, Ron of Waterville, WA, Lynn Suknot of Albuquerque, and Shirley Suknot of Seattle, WA; sons, Dan Suknot and wife, Donna, and Ron Suknot, all of Albuquerque; grandsons, Carl Jackson of Los Angeles, CA, Eric Crawford of Scottsdale, AZ, and Ronnie Suknot of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Erin Suknot and Kari Suknot, both of Albuquerque; and sisters, Maxine Sager and husband, Ross of Sioux City, IA, Shirley Eaton and husband, Bud of Minneapolis, MN and Lucille Harrison of Glendale, AZ. Billie Thornberry Robberson, 76, a resident of Albuquerque, died April 27, 1999. She is survived by her husband, Jack Robberson; her four daughters, Corine Frizzell of Jackson, MS; Carolyn Pace of Lima, Peru, Darlene Thornberry of Gig Harbour, WA, Terri Thornberry of Durango, CO; her step-son, Lyman Robberson of Las Cruces, NM; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved very much. Billie Robberson was born June 18, 1922 in Deming, NM to Edward and Corine Hall. But because of the premature death of her parents, she grew up in the home of her uncle and aunt, Frank and Emma Dale of Reed, OK. Billie Robberson's first husband and father of her children was E.C. Thornberry, originally from Ft. Payne, AL. They met in Reed, OK and were married there in July 1940. They moved first to Tucumcari, NM where their first daughter was born and then moved to Albuquerque in February 1942 where they raised their four daughters. They joined Edith Street Baptist Church where they formed lifelong friendships that have enriched their lives down through the years. E.C. Thornberry died May 16, 1963. Billie Robberson was employed for many years with Mountain Bell Telephone Company, Universal Contractors, Clinton P. Anderson Insurance Agency (bought out by Alexander & Alexander) and Brokerage Services. Billie and Jack Robberson, currently members of Hoffman Baptist Church, married July 3, 1993 after renewing a friendship dating back to 1941 when Billie and E.C. Thornberry had moved to Tucumcari and had rented an apartment from Jack Robberson and his first wife, Sue, Jack and E.C. had enjoyed playing sports together.

Mr. Anthony R. Trujillo died Tuesday in Albuquerque at the age of 41. He was preceded in death by his father, Elias Trujillo; and daughter, Donna M. Trujillo. Mr. Trujillo is survived by his mother, Sally Trujillo; daughter, Monica Trujillo; sister, Dalphene Minnear and husband, Mike; nephews, Jerry A. Chavez Jr. and wife, Cellina and Jesus R. Chavez; and nieces, Cecilia E. Chavez and Brielle C. Chavez. Memorial services for Mr. Trujillo will be held on Friday at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Arrangements by the Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 3rd St. SW.

Ocariz Maldonado Anaya, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away April 28, 2000 at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque. Services will be held at St. Anthonys Catholic Church in Tajique, NM, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.. on Sunday, April 30, 2000, and Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 1, 2000. Burial will follow. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th St NW. 505-343-8008.

Albert "Al" Barker, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Barker of Albuquerque; son, Mitchell Barker of Seattle, Washington; daughter, Christine Hatten of Albuquerque; grandson, Jeremiah Hatten of Albuquerque; and granddaughter, Tammara Hatten of Oklahoma. Albert served his country faithfully for 20 years in the United States Army. He served in World War II in Africa, Italy and Corsica. He ended his military career highly decorated as a Major. Albert then worked for the State Highway Department of New Mexico for 10 years. After retirement from the Highway Department, he became a licensed realtor. Cremation will take place and private services will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Arrangements by Aspen Funeral Alternatives, 1935 Juan Tabo NE. (293-9000)
