John Marshall Stott, 82, went to be with his Lord on April 28, 2000. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Betty J. Stott; son, Robert Stott and great-granddaughter, Ashley Stott. He is survived by his sons, Richard Stott and wife, Lotus of Hilands Ranch, CO, Patrick Stott and wife, Cici of Tijeras, NM; daughters, Karen Winchester and husband, Roy of Albuquerque, NM, Jackie Vorst and husband, Arson of El Paso, TX; sisters, Ila Hodges of Longmont, CO and Dorothy Eisenhart and husband, Richard of Port Aransas, TX. Mr. Stott is also survived by eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. John moved to Albuquerque in 1954 from Racine, WI and retired from Sandia Labs in 1978. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. Johns passions in life were his family, friends and wood working. He provided many kind and generous gifts to the church and to his friends. The family wishes to thank all those who have given their loving support and prayers through his illness. A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held Monday, May 1, 2000 at 2:00 p.m., Hoffmantown Church, 8888 Harper NE, Albuquerque, NM. Cremation arrangements were by the Sunrise Society of NM, 891-8200.

Harvey C. Strong, 94, a resident of Albuquerque for 26 years, passed away April 26, 2000 at Albuquerque Manor. He is survived by his wife of six years, Kathryn; daughters, Ann S. Hutchins and husband, Charles S. of No. Palm Beach, FL, Susan Strong Smith of Arroyo Grande, CA; son, Thomas H. and wife, Sarah of Black Mountain, NC; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Harvey was an honor graduate of Dakota Wesleyan University and employed by Michigan Bell Telephone Co. until his retirement. Memorial contributions may be sent to the George Harvey and Louise A. Strong Memorial Scholarship Fund, Dakota Wesleyan University, 1200 W. University Ave., Mitchell, SD 57301-4398. Cremation arrangements by the Sunrise Society of NM, 891-8200. Interment will be at Vista Verde Memorial Park, Rio Rancho.

Claire Lauren Templeton, 23, died Wednesday, April 26, 2000 in Albuquerque, N.M. Claire was born May 5, 1976 in Tulsa, OK. She is survived by her father, Michael Templeton of Dallas, TX; mother, Lou Ann Callaway of Tulsa, OK; grandparents, Harry and Cherie Callaway of Marlow, OK; grandmother, Ruth Templeton of Kimberling City, MO; stepbrother, Brian Cooley of Breckenridge, CO; and stepsister, Becky Mosley of San Antonio, TX. Claire was a former resident of Tulsa, and lived in Albuquerque for the past 21/2 years. She worked for a health food store as a Body Care Consultant. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 1, 2000 with Rev. Jimmy Hopper of Tulsa, and Rev. Joe Ligon officiating. Burial will take place at Marlow Cemetery in OK. Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

William Howard Testerman, born October 10, 1933 in Springfield, Missouri, died April 26, 2000 in Albuquerque. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia of the family home; daughters, Tamra of Washington, DC and Sandra of Tijeras; son, Brian and wife, Katie of Broomfield, CO; and grandchildren include Jesse, Jaime, Jenna, and Rebecca Hall of Albuquerque, and Audrey Testerman of Broomfield, CO. He was an Airforce pilot for 20 years, serving in Korea and Vietnam. On retirement he taught mathematics for a short time and then worked in the Albuquerque Disability Determination Unit for 23 years, the last five years as the state director for the unit. He had an avid love for sports and coached Little League baseball and soccer; other interests included playing softball for a senior league, fishing, golf, guitar, playing bridge, singing with the New Mexico Chords, and traveling with the New Mexico Friendship Force and Elderhostels to several foreign countries. He will be greatly missed by his family who feel blessed for the time they had with him. Memorial services will be held May 5th at the First Unitarian Church at 4:00 p.m. A family remembrance will be held later at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Dr. Robert Weiler and the Lovelace Hospital staff for their care during his hospital stay. James Kean Tilford, 87, died April 26, 2000 in Los Lunas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; and is survived by his son, Jim Tilford and wife, Angela of Arroyo Seco, NM; and daughter, Ann Sims and husband, Ed of Los Lunas, Lee Davis and husband, Phil of Albuquerque, and Viki Edwards and husband, Jack of El Rito, NM; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Jessie Tonnie born in Oakland, California, February 13, 1911 passed away at her home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, April 27, 2000. She is survived by her sons, James of Rowlett, Texas and John of Albuquerque. She is also survived by five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Cremation has taken place. Private services will be conducted at Greenwood Memorial Park, San Diego, California at a later date. The family wishes to thank Dr. A.C. Tarnower, Linda, Helen, Connie, Sharon, Ruth, and Irene of Lovelace Hospice for their kindness, help and understanding.

Helene Walsh, 70, passed away in her sleep after a long illness on Thursday, April 27, 2000. Her husband, Patrick, her children Michael, Teresa and Colleen, and her granddaughters, Heather and Chelsea survive her. The family wishes to express special appreciation to Ida Perez and Sandia Hospice for outstanding support during this difficult time. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, 10:00 a.m., at John XXIII Catholic Church. Interment will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery. French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE.

Carmen T. Zamora, 70, a resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, April 28, 2000. She is survived by her husband, Joe Zamora; son, Leonard Zamora; Yolanda Maestas, who was like a daughter-in-law; daughters, Diane Carriaga and husband, Robert R. Carriaga, Sr., and Christine Zamora; grandchildren, Michelle Carriaga-James, and husband, David, and Robert R. Carriaga, Jr.; great-grandson, Zachary James; and sister, Ursula Lantz and husband, Jerry, all of Albuquerque. Mrs. Zamora was a member of Calvary Chapel of Albuquerque. She loved to travel and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Interment has taken place and a memorial service will be held Tuesday, 2:00 p.m., at Calvary Chapel of Albuquerque, 4001 Osuna Rd. NE, with Pastor Bob Church officiating. Thomas E. "Tommy" Allen, 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1947, died Friday, April 27, 2001. He is survived by his daughter, Judy King of Belmont, CA; granddaughter, Karen King of Alturas, CA; grandson, Mark King and wife, Evro of Redwood City, CA; great-granddaughters, Shannon and Cheyenne King of Alturas, CA; great-grandson, Joseph King of Redwood City, CA; and special friend, Mary Lou Harmening of Tome, NM. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Allen. During his years in the construction industry he worked for Vinell in Colorado constructing dams and in Las Vegas as superintendent building homes. During the war he worked in Hawthorne, NV for a construction company, and in Albuquerque for Mossman-Gladden and Wylie Brothers. He retired from Gross Construction in 1981. Tommy enjoyed fishing and traveling. Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, 1:00 p.m. at Gate of Heaven, 7500 Paseo Del Norte NE, with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. Virginia Rae Patek Anderson went to be with our Lord on Thursday, April 26, 2001. Ginny was born on November 11, 1934 in Milwaukee, WI. She was adopted by loving parents, Gertrude and Alfred Patek. She was a graduate of Marquette School of Nursing. She married Neil "Larry" Anderson on January 5, 1957. Ginny and Larry and their six children moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1970. Ginny spent her life giving and serving others as a nurse at Lovelace Medical Center. She spent 15 years caring for patients on the medical unit, then five years in the Oncology/Hematology Department. Retirement in 1994 gave her the opportunity to enjoy traveling with her lifelong friend Larry and to become her grandchildren's "Greatest Fan ", as she supported them in a variety of activities. She is preceded in death by her parents. Her legacy of love continues through her husband, Larry Anderson of Albuquerque; her mother-in-law, Marguerite Anderson of Albuquerque; her children, Bruce Anderson and his wife, La Nell and their children, Craig, Thomas and Elizabeth of Albuquerque, Sharon Mikkelson and her husband, Don of Los Alamos, Gary Anderson and his wife, Annette and their children, Jordan and Taylor of Austin, TX, Cindy Dickson and her children, Kristy and Danny of Albuquerque, Ken Anderson of Dallas, TX, Christine Dietz and her husband, Andy and their children, Brant, Amanda, Madison and Joshua of Houston, TX. Florence "Flo" Borrowdale, a resident of Belen, passed away due to her failing health on Friday, April 27, at the age of 85. She was born on August 11, 1915 in Chicago, Illinois and in 1946 she moved with her family to the Army Courts in Belen. Flo and her late husband, Hank, founded the Belen Bottling Company "Hub City Pop" in 1961. Later Flo began her banking career at the Belen National Bank and subsequently became Vice-President of Belen Savings and Loan, retiring after 35 years of service. Flo was an excellent cook and hostess to her many family and friends. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed a challenging game against her husband and sons. She also enjoyed playing cards, swimming, golf, and dancing to the Big Band Music with her husband. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Henry Borrowdale; her parents; one brother; and three sisters. She is survived by her two sons, Larry and wife, Judy; Jim and wife, Vicky, both of Albuquerque; one sister, Rita Mints and her husband, Charlie of Chicago; four grandchildren, Kelley Bretches of Colorado; Steve Borrowdale; Linda Mitchell and husband, Dale; Chrissy Borrowdale, all of Albuquerque; five great-grandchildren; and her many loving nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place at the request of the deceased. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church with Interment following at Terrace Grove Cemetery. Romero Funeral Home, Belen, NM

William Eugene "Billy" Davis, was born November 15, 1951 in Battle Creek, Michigan but lived most of his life in Albuquerque. Many times we hear of people who are praised for the success and wonder of their lives and contributions to our world. But, there are also those who touch our lives just by being who they are. We are all put on this earth to fulfill a purpose and to find meaning for our lives. Billy was born with Down syndrome. While he did not achieve degrees in higher education or contribute his time to service organizations he had a very specific purpose for being. His purpose was to be a teacher. He taught us compassion, patience, and understanding for others who are different. He defined who we are as a family and helped shape who we are as individuals. Billy is survived by his devoted and loving parents, Dr. B.J. and Jean Davis of Albuquerque; his sister, Denise Davis and her husband, Tom Wilber, of Albuquerque; his brothers, Bruce Davis and his wife, Tina, of Albuquerque, Steve Davis and his wife, Christina, of Walnut, California, and Ron Davis and his wife, Renee, of Albuquerque. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews Bryan Matysiak of San Marcos, Texas; Brandon, Aaron, Desiree and Chad Davis of Albuquerque; Brittany and Aubrey Davis of Walnut, California; and Kaila and Sean Davis of Albuquerque. He also has many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Forever a child, he has blessed our lives without comparison, we love you Bill. Services will be held Monday, April 30, 2001 at 11:00 a.m., at First Baptist Church, 101 Broadway NE, with Rev. Steven Taylor, officiating. Pallbearers will be his brothers and nephews. Refugia "Ray" Dominguez, 90, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2001. She was very active in San Rafael Catholic Church, as well as belonging to the Sacred Heart Order of San Rafael. She was also on the Senior Center Board for over 30 years, and she was very involved in the Senior Olympics. She was preceded in death by her husband Guadalupe Dominguez in 1965, and her son Herman Dominguez on November 4, 2000. She is survived by six sons; Odie Dominguez and wife, Sophie of Grants, Bernie Dominguez and wife, Lila of Gallup, Eloy Dominguez and wife, Audrey of Oxnard, CA, Richard Dominguez and wife, Gloria of Grover Beach, CA, Martin Dominguez and wife, Theresa of Grants, Joe Dominguez and wife, Cherry of Grants; two daughters, Shirley Gonzales and husband, Santiago of Grants Annie Chavez and husband, Anthony of Arlington, TX; daughter-in-law, Mary Dominguez (wife of Herman); 36 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sister, Trinne Medina and husband, Louis of Grants, many other family and friends who loved and will miss her. Services will be held at San Rafael Catholic Church, with Rosary at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday April 29,2001and with Mass at 10:00am Monday April 30,2001. Pallbearers will be: Frankie Dominguez, Odie Dominguez Jr., Bernie Dominguez Jr., Christopher Dominguez, Joey Dominguez Jr., James Gonzales Felicia Dominguez, Angela Chavez, and Kristina Dominguez. Michael A. D'Ornellas, an area resident since 1975, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2001. Michael was a member of the Central New Mexico Builders Association. He served in the 82nd Airborne in the Vietnam Era. Michael was the owner of Accurate Custom Builders, a well renowned custom homebuilder of the Placitas, Albuquerque and East Mountain area. He is survived by his wife, Mary; mother, Elva D'Ornellas of Albuquerque; children, Michael Jr. and his wife, Christy, of Easley, SC, Kevin D'Ornellas and Paul D'Ornellas of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Michael, Josh and Matthew; sisters, Janice Defreitas and husband, Aubrey, of Phoenix, AZ, Donna Dasilva and husband, Robert, of San Diego, CA, and Maureen Stock and husband, Roger, of Albuquerque; and brother, Brian D'Ornellas of Albuquerque. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, May 1, 2001 at 6:30 p.m. at French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 2, 2001 at 9:00 a.m. at Grace Church, 6901 San Antonio NE. Ana M. Edwards, age 91, died Thursday, April 26, 2001 at a local nursing home. Memorial Mass will be held Monday, April 30, 2001 in the Kirtland Catholic Chapel, 1950 2nd St. SE on Kirtland Air Force Base at 11:00 a.m. Father Raymond Lamy will celebrate the Mass. Interment will follow in the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. The arrangements for Ana M. Edwards are under the direction of the Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal SE.

Thomas A. (Tom) Hardison, 82, passed away Friday evening, April 27, 2001. He was born May 16, 1918, the only child of Thomas and Alma Gafford Hardison of Trent, Texas. After graduation from Texas A & M University, he became a civil engineer for the Army Corps of Engineers, building camps and roads in the China-Burma-India theater during WWII. On January 21, 1946, he married Irene Paganetti, an Army nurse he had met aboard a troop ship bound for the Far East. After the war, he worked in the construction and management of camps that supported defense operations in Korea, the Bikini Atoll, Kwajalein Island, Venezuela, Australia, and Saudi Arabia. He was involved in the building of KAFB and Los Alamos as well. Tom will be remembered for his love of people, his kindness and sense of humor, and his devotion to his family. He is survived by Irene Hardison, his wife of 55 years; daughter, Valerie Bryant and husband, Bill of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Christina Henry and husband, Tony of Broomfield, CO; three cousins, Millie White of Abilene, Texas, Joan Snyder of Lee's Summit, Missouri, Janet White of Mahwah, New Jersey; and dear longtime family friends, Tony Natoli of Honolulu, and Sue Maes of Albuquerque. The cremains will be interred later in the Paganetti plot in Tomales, California. At Tom's request, no Memorial Service will be held. However, friends may greet and comfort the family at 11:45 a.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2001 at Ridgecrest Christian Church, following morning worship. The church is located at 5300 Eastern Ave. SE (near San Mateo and Gibson). In lieu of flowers, those who desire may make contributions to the church in memory of Tom.

Flora Bennett Johnson passed away peacefully on April 27, 2001 at the age of 95. She was born Flora Florence Neumann to Lawrence F. and Hattie Neumann in Tilden, Nebraska on January 20, 1906. Flora married Robert Toler Bennett of Deming, NM, in 1929. To this union were born two children. Flora received her beauticians license in 1941 and subsequently owned several shops in Albuquerque. She later held contracts on the beauty shops at Los Alamos and Sandia Base. The couple made their home in Albuquerque from 1946 until Robert's death in 1958. Then in 1963 Flora married James Rayburn Johnson of Albuquerque, New Mexico. They owned and operated the Winrock Health Food Store until they both retired and sold the business in 1976. J.R. Johnson's death was in 1999. Flora has been a member of Eastern Star and White Shrine of Albuquerque for over 50 years. She was presented a life membership and a 50-year pin at the Albuquerque Shrine No. 1, White Shrine of Jerusalem. The Worthy High Priestess Mary Arnold presented the honor during a January 1998 meeting at York Rite Temple. Flora is survived by her brothers, Marion F. and wife, Amy Neumann, of Pine River, MN, and Merral E. Neumann of Pequot Lakes, MN; daughter, Evaughn Knudsen and husband, Norman, of San Jose, CA; son, Lawrence N. Bennett and wife, Katherine, of Albuquerque; five grandchildren, Mark S. Knudsen, Vance M. Knudsen and Eric B. Knudsen and their families, Rebecca L. Barfield and her children and Laura Bennett; ten great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Memorial Services are still pending. Entombment will take place at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.

Kurt Kubie, a member of our community for 51 years, died peacefully on April 26, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Edith of 61 years; his daughter, Susie Kubie and husband, Arnie Melnikoff; his son, Jim Kubie and wife, Liz; and his grandson, Jacob Kubie, all of Albuquerque. He came to Albuquerque in 1950 and established Kurts Camera Corral. Graveside Services
will be held Tuesday, May 1, 2001 at Fairview Memorial Park at 10:00 a.m. with Rabbi Isaac Celnik officiating. A Memorial Service will be held at Congregation B'nai Israel Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice. Maria A. Michel, 87, passed away April 27, 2001. She is survived by sons; Heriberto Michel and wife, Benita, Felipe Michel and wife, Merced, Carlos Michel and wife, Sylvia, Franciso Michel; daughters, Soledad Michel, Rosa Seto and husband Ruben, Naty Pizarro and husband; Socorro; 28 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; brother, Florencio Herrera and wife, Juanita; other family and friends who loved and will miss her. Services will be held at San Jose Catholic Church with Rosary held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 30, 2001, and Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 1,2001, with burial to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Enrique Michel, Herbert Michel Jr., Carlos Michel Jr., Steven Griego, Eleasar Mota, Clyde Soto. Honorary Pallbearers will be Felip Mota, and Gabriel Michel. Eufelia Ramirez Montano, 86, went home to the Lord on April 28, 2001. Eufelia born in Tularosa, NM. She is survived by her two grandsons, Louie Lopez and wife, Rita, Ray Montoya and wife, Pricsilla; and great-grandchildren, Danny Chavez, Cynthia Lopez, Leonard Lopez, Alfonso Gutierrez, Adam Gutierrez, Adam Montoya and Isaac Montoya. Eufelia was a lifetime member of the D.A.V. Auxiliary. She will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening place to be announced. Mass of Christina Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday morning time and place to be announced. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Jesse Campos Jr., Richard Campos, John Duran, Michael Paras, Danny Chavez and Joe Montano. Funeral Services are in the care of Garcia Mortuary, 717 Stover Ave., SW 243-5222.
