Jeannette McKiernan, 79, died April 20, 2002 after a brief illness. She married John McKiernan in 1945, and was mother of Kathy Hamilton, Linda McKiernan-Allen and John McKiernan. A Service of Thanksgiving for her life will be held on May 1, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at Monte Vista Christian Church, 3501 Campus Blvd., Albuquerque, NM, 87106. Anyone making a memorial contribution, please direct it to Monte Vista Christian Church Memorial Fund.

Mrs. Louise Montoya died Sunday, April 28, 2002 in Albuquerque. She was born in Velverde, NM. She has been living in Albuquerque sine 1943. She is a member of Queen Of Heaven Church. She is survived by her husband, Mauricio Montoya; and her son, Raymond Montoya and his wife, Diane; her brothers, Perfecto Martinez and his wife, Isabel, Rumaldo Martinez; also her sister, Andrea Coca; grandchildren, Ramona and Monica Montoya; great grandchildren, Vanessa Evangeline Powers. Funeral Services for Louise Montoya will be held on Wednesday at Queen of Heaven Church where the Mass Will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Martinez, Ralph Martinez, Sam Martinez, Dolores Martinez, and Monica Montoya Honorary Pallbearers will be Jessica Martinez Sandra Vigil and Daniel Martinez. A Rosary for Mrs Montoya Will be held on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 Third ST SW.

Clell J. Schwartz, 89, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2002 in Albuquerque. He is survived by his wife, Maxine; his children, Peggy Lemon of Corrales and Steve Schwartz of Pagosa Springs, Colorado; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandsons. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2002 at the Rio Rancho Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association.

Mary Helen Sosebee, age 77, and know affectionately to all as "Little Auntie," passed into the arms of our Lord on Wednesday, April 24, 2002. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, April 30, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Arthur P. Stanton, 89, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2002 in Lemitar, NM. He was born October 9, 1912 to Antonio and Mercedes (Chavez) Stanton in Albuquerque, NM. He was a resident of Socorro, NM since 1949. Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Socorro with Rev. Phil Preston officiating. Arthur C. Trujillo, loving husband and father, passed away on April 24, 2002. He is survived by Trina Trujillo, his wife of 51 years; his daughters, Kathryn D. Trujillo, Deborah E. Flores and her husband, John L. Flores; his son, Anthony A. Trujillo; brothers, Lambert C. "Bindy" Trujillo and wife, Josie of Las Cruces, NM, Phillip C. "Pito" Trujillo and wife, Frances of Valinda, CA; his sister, Estella Jean Chavez and her husband, George of Whittier, CA; his granddaughter, Bree Rauck; and great-grandchildren, Dominick and Rhyan; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lamberto P and Margarita C Trujillo and brother, Alfredo C. Trujillo. He was born November 23, 1925 in Las Cruces. He served his country overseas in the US Army in the Company B 97th Single Battalion and the 188th Fighter Squadron Air National Guard. He earned medals for European Middle Eastern Occupation Europe, Good Conduct and Victory. He graduated from the Los Angeles City College with a BA in Business. After living in California a number of years, he and Trina returned to Albuquerque where he lived with and near his family for the remainder of his life. He was involved in many community affairs such as the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) and the Association of Savings and Loans (ASLA). His kindness and gentleness will be greatly missed. A Rosary will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. and a Mass on Monday, April 29, 2002 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Bernadette Church. Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Flores, Jim Valles, Michael Flores, George Kramme, John Hernandez and Kenny Triager. Arrangements made by Hillcrest Funeral Home 265-5959. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

RONALD DEAN WILKERSON, lost his battle with cancer on Sunday, April 28, 2002. He was born in Roswell, NM on November 13, 1928. Ron graduated from Roswell High where he met his future wife, Goldie Lee Burchett. He attended Abilene Christian University majoring in Greek and Theology. He also attended the University in Tucson Arizona and Pepperdine University in Los Angeles, California. Ron was a full time minister for the Church Of Christ for twenty five years. After retiring from the ministry, Ron worked in construction, estimating and managing his own company Award Builders. He continued preaching on a part-time basis wherever there was a need. In his latter years he worked at CSI as a printer computer operator. For twenty five years, Ron was a member of Western band, the "Rockin W Wranglers ". He played the bass, the harmonica, and sang. Music was always an integral part of his life from his early childhood. Ron was also a member of the Optimist Club for many years. Ron is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Goldie Lee, who was his high school sweetheart; son, Don Wilkerson and wife, Laurel of Bosque Farms and Mark Wilkerson and wife, Vicki of Rio Rancho; daughter, Sherry Allen and husband, Rob of Albuquerque; grandsons, Shane Wilkerson, Clint Wilkerson and wife, Klyrisa of Eglin AFB, Florida, Jason and Jeremi Nichols, Daniel and Hugh Wilkerson; granddaughters, Dixie Lee Thomas and husband, Grant, Stacy Wilkerson, Jessica and Jennifer Nichols and two great-granddaughters, Delaney Thomas and Haley Wilkerson; brothers, Jack Wilkerson and wife, Sioux of Roswell, Bob Wilkerson of Honduras, Burl Wilkerson and wife, Jo of Houston, TX. and twin brother, Don of California; sister-in-law, Clara Wilkerson of Roswell and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Ernest Wilkerson and Maartha Elkins Wilkerson; brother, Ernest Wilkerson; and sisters, Helen Coble, Ernell Herring and Martha Belle Lemmons. JOSE ELISEO ESQUIBEL, 71, of Tierra Amarilla, died Saturday. He served as Post Master at the Chama Post Office for 16 years and for 14 years at the Tierra Amarilla Post Office. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolfo and Sofia Esquibel and two brothers, David and Adolfo Jr. He is survived by his wife, Casilda of the home; six children, Albert Esquibel and wife Kwi Ae of Maui, Hawaii, Vicente Esquibel and wife Cynthia of Yorba Linda, Calif., Adolfo Esquibel of Chandler, Ariz., Ellen Bellamy of Albuquerque, Darlene Esquibel and Peter Romero of Las Vegas, N.M., and Rose Ella Esquibel and Louis Alarid of Santa Fe; six grandchildren; two brothers, Frank Esquibel and wife Kate of Tierra Amarilla, Gonzalo Esquibel and wife Dora of Albuquerque; three sisters, Otilia Lopez and husband Anselmo of Albuquerque, Patsy Holmes of Corona, Calif. and Mary Lou Martinez of Albuquerque; and many other relatives and friends. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today at the Santo Nino Church in Tierra Amarilla. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Salazar Family of Block-Salazar Mortuary.

GEORGE FRANK, 88, of Taos, died Thursday in Roswell. He was a contractor in Taos from 1954 to 1982. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence. He is survived by his daughters, Beverly Weyerman (Ralph) of Idalia, Colo., and Shirley Bowen (Leroy) of Roswell; brothers, Alvie Frank and Ted Frank (Shirley) both of Alamosa, Colo.; sisters, Hanna Maria Riverall (James) of San Diego, and Helen Schmidke of Imporia, Kan.; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. today at Las Cruces Cemetery. Rivera-Hanlon Funeral Home.

IRENE V. FREESTONE, 84, of Los Alamos, died Friday following a short illness. She was a member of the Phila Nada Literary Club, the Relief Society at church, the Hospital Auxiliary (Pink Ladies), and Sun City, Arizona Organ Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert G. Freestone; one sister, and six brothers. She is survived by her son, Larry Freestone and wife Ronaele of Los Alamos; daughter, Marilyn Arnold and husband Murray of Penn Valley, Calif.; grandchildren, Keri Woll of San Bernardino, Calif., MeriAnn Parker and husband Steven, and Lori Freestone both of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Sheri Freestone of Los Alamos. JOE E. LOPEZ, 86, of La Madera, died Saturday following a long illness. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carlotta Lopez. He is survived by his sons, Eloy Lopez of Gardenia, Calif., Richard Sisneros of Rl Rito, and Leroy Salazar of Espaņola; step-daughter, Isabel Alire; step-son, Joe Vasquez both of El Rito; special grandson, Pete Alire Jr. and companion Sandra; 12 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at the San Juan Nepomuceno Church in El Rito with burial to follow at the El Rito Catholic Cemetery. DeVargas Funeral Home of the Espaņola Valley.

JULIENNE M. MICHEL, 60, of Santa Fe, died April 23, 2002 at her home. She was born in New York City on May 9, 1941. Her primary residence was Santa Fe, but she had a townhouse in Washington, D.C. and a ranch in Colorado. She grew up in New York and Southampton, N.Y. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford W. Michel and the great-granddaughter of the financier, Jules Bache. She graduated from the Madiera School in Potomac, Md. and she attended Wellesley College, the Parsons School of Design, and studied art in Italy. She was the deputy protocol officer for the U.S. Embassy in London, serving under Ambassador Walter Annenberg. She worked for Christie's auction house in London in the early eighties and then moved back to New York to work for Christie's there. When she moved to Santa Fe in the mid-eighties, and represented Sotheby's in New Mexico. She has been known for her philanthropies and interest in the arts. She was a Trustee of the School of American Research in Santa Fe and on the National advisory Board of the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum. She particularly enjoyed her affiliations with the World Wildlife Fund in Washington, D.C. where she served on its National Council. She was a Fellow of the Morgan Library, the Folger Shakespeare Library, the Aspen Institute and a patron of the New Century Fund of the National Gallery of Art. In honor of her friend, former Senator Alan Simpson of Wyoming, she established and endowed the Alan K. Simpson Institute of Western Politics and leadership at the University of Wyoming. She was preceded in death by her sister, Nell Michel Sawyer. She is survived by her brother, Clifford L. Michel of Gladstone, N.J., five nephews, and one niece. Memorial services will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2002, at the School of American Research, 660 Garcia St. A second memorial will be on May 31, 2002, in Washington at a time and place to be announced. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the School of American Research, the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe, or the World Wildlife Fund in Washington, D.C.

Fred P. Anaya, 82, a resident of Albuquerque since 1949, died Tuesday, April 29, 2003. He is survived by his son, Fred S. Anaya and wife, Sandra; daughters, Mary Louise Sena and Bonnie De Herrera and husband, Edward; grandchildren, Steven F. Anaya and wife Suzann, Cheryl Maturino and husband John, Michele Gutierrez and husband Louis, Christopher Anaya and wife Tina, Joyelle Sena, Brenda Sena and Benjamin Sena and wife Ashlie; 13 great-grandchildren, all of Albuquerque; sisters, Simona Davis and Isabel Garcia and husband, Antonio; brothers, John Anaya and wife, Clara Belle, Henry Anaya and Charlie Anaya and wife, Dolores; sister, Marylou Salazar and husband, Hank; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara S. Anaya; brothers, Antonio P. Anaya and Joe M. Anaya; and parents, Basilio and Miquelita Anaya. Fred was a lifelong member of St. Therese Little Flower Church, and part of Holy Name Society. He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during WWII. Fred was a member of Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge, American Legion Post 13, past president of NM Society of Public Accountants, and past member of NM State Board of Public Accountancy. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, 7:00 p.m., at St. Therese Little Flower Church, 300 Mildred NW, with Deacon Manuel Montoya reciting. Music provided by Fred Gomez. Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 12:30 p.m., at St. Therese Little Flower Church, with Deacon Manuel Montoya officiating. Interment will be at 3:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Edward De Herrera, Steven Anaya, Christopher Anaya, John Maturino, Louis Gutierrez, Benjamin Sena, and Gerald Garcia. Honorary pallbearers will be Freddie Anaya and Isidore Valdez III.

Damacio F. Aragon, 95, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully at home on April 27, 2003. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Esther Aragon of Albuquerque; daughters, Nickie and husband, Leonard Eisenzimmer of Albuquerque, Ramona Moleres of Grants, NM, Margaret Welter of Camby, IN; sons, Col. Jose Aragon and wife, Colleen of Arlington, VA and Claude Aragon and wife, Drucilla of Grants, NM. He is also survived by sons-in-law, Wayne Gilbertson of Sun City, AZ and Pete Malies of Kyle, TX. Damacio is survived 19 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughters, Carmel Malies, Theresa Gilbertson and Mary Anne and husband, Paschal Malies, sons-in-law, Robert Moleres and Gene Welter. Rosary will be recited on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church, 5901 St. Joseph Dr. NW with Legion of Mary, reciting. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. also at the church with Father Frank Prieto, celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd. NE. James P. Cole Jr., Lt. Colonel (Ret.), 82 died April 28, 2003 after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife of 53 years,Clara; daughter, Christine Cole and family of Los Angeles and son, Edward Cole and family of Corrales. He was preceded in death by his son, James P. Cole III. "JP" (to his friends and family) was born in New York City on December 6, 1920. He was an early high school graduate in 1936 and attended Columbia University the same year on scholarship. When scholarship money ran out in 1939, he became a pilot in the Army Air Corps. He answered a call for volunteers to join the Royal Air Force in 1940. He fought in the Battle of Britain becoming on of Churchill's "so few" that "were owed so much by so many." It was here that he few the fighter plane that he loved so much; the Spitfire. He rejoined the United States Army Air Corps in 1942 after America had entered the war. He fought the remainder of the war with the Eight Air Force flying a variety of fighters. After the war, JP finished his college degree at Columbia University. He remained in the Air Force in both active and reserve capacities until 1962. During that time, he flew some of the first Fighter jets and commanded a Search and Rescue squadron in the Pacific Northwest. JP was assigned at one point during this time to fly an airplane for Clark Gable in a movie. He was an insurance company executive in civilian life and was a Boy Scout scoutmaster of the local troop helping many boys grow into young men. His passions were his wife and family, reading and golf. A man of energy, warmth and dignity, he will be greatly missed by those who knew him. Graveside services will be held Friday, May 2, 2003, 11:00 a.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery, with Chaplain Lemuel Boyles, Col. USAF, (Ret.), officiating.

Marie K. Conley, 68, a resident of Albuquerque since 1954, died Sunday, April 27, 2003. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Delbert E. Conley of Albuquerque; daughters, Pamela Houston and husband, Tommy of Mandeville, LA and Joyce Marquez and husband, J.R. of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Amy Houston and Jacqueline Marquez; grandsons, Eric Houston and Vincent Marquez; brothers, Donald Heberlein and wife, Susie of Arizona, Raymond Heberlein of California, and Russell Heberlein and wife, Helen of Colorado; and numerous nieces and nephews. Marie enjoyed sewing and traveling with her family. She was an active member of Netherwood Park Church of Christ. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, 1:30 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Ronald Anthony Contreras, 29, was called home to be with our Lord on Saturday April 26. A lifetime resident of Albuquerque's North Valley he was born on October 24, 1973. Ronnie had a wide variety of tastes, including drawing, music, and fixing cars, but most importantly he loved spending time with his children. His three blessed children, Raphael, Jacob, and Elijah; and his loving wife, Alisha were the true light and pride of his life. Ronnie will be greatly missed, especially by his lifelong supporter and mother, Gloria Chavez-Davis. Ronnie truly enjoyed hanging out with his friends, especially his close friend and sister, Angela. He is also survived by Gloria's husband, Steve Davis; father, Ronald Contreras; youngest sister, Marie; and his grandmother, Nellie Chavez. Ronnie was preceded in death by his grandfather, Tranquilino Chavez. Ronnie has left us with so many wonderful memories and he will always be alive in the hearts of his family and friends. A Rosary will be recited Thursday, May 1, 2003, 7:00 p.m. at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church on the corner of 4th Street and Alameda NW in Albuquerque. A Mass will be celebrated Friday, May 2, 2003, 9:00 a.m. also at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, with Father Juan Mendez officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery.

Evelyan Deaton, age 75, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away April 27, 2003. Survivors include her daughter, Sharon DeVenzeio and husband, Pat of Albuquerque; sons, Roland W. Deaton of Albuquerque, Richard Deaton and wife, Jeanne of Edgewood, NM; sisters, Edna Ewan of Farmington, NM, Joan Johnson of Phoenix, AZ, Barbara Wohlenhaus of Gold Canyon, AZ; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Evelyan was preceded in death by her husband, parents and three brothers. She enjoyed doing crafts such as knitting and sewing. Memorial Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 2, 2003 in the chapel of Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Directors. Arrangements are under the direction of:
