Mary J. Fauss, age 83, a 50 year resident of Albuquerque, died April 27, 2003. Survivors include her husband, Harlan H. Fauss of the family home; brother, Allen Rawdon of AZ; sister-in-law, Myrtle Rowdon of WY. Mary was retired from Kirtland Air Force Base. Private Graveside Services were held. Faye Fox, 87, a lifetime resident of New Mexico, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2003. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Bynard of Albuquerque; son, Gene Fox and wife, Helen of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Mike, Toni, Sandy and Crystal; great-grandchildren, Michelle, Teri, Jennifer, A.J., Jory, Kelsey and twins Kimberley and Kaitlen; great-great grandchildren, Devin Gene, and Shannon Faye. Faye was preceded in death by her son, Rex Fox, grandson, Joe Fox, brother, Jack Wayne Woltmon. She was a member of Business & Professional Women and a member of The Church of Christ. Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 3rd, 3:30 p.m., French Mortuary - University Blvd Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

Carole Virginia Garcia, 63, a resident of Albuquerque, died on Sunday, April 27, 2003. She is survived by her husband, George Garcia; son, Charles P. Garcia and wife, Shanna; daughter, Beverly J. Pribble and husband, Garry; grandchildren, Garrett, Richard, and Ashleigh; twin sister, Sharon Pearce and husband, Joe; sisters, Cynthia Truby and husband, Bud, Judi Beare and husband, Richard; brother, Larry Hutchinson and wife, Janet; mother in law, Ramona Garcia; sister in law, Mary Alice Gonzales; and numerous nieces and nephews. Carole was preceded in death by her parents, M. M. and Doris Hutchinson and father in law, Polito Garcia. Carole was born in Washington, D. C. on April 13, 1940 and moved with her family to New Mexico when she was two. She graduated from Highland High School in 1958 and was married August 16 of that year. She also graduated from the Albuquerque Business College in 1965 and has been employed by Star Construction Inc. since 1992. Carole was a member of Calvary Chapel of Albuquerque and the New Mexico section of the Crohns and Colitis Foundation Support Group. Services will be held Wednesday, April 30, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. Interment will follow services at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith NE. Bentura A. Gonzales, 85, a resident of Los Lunas, NM, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2003. He was a member of the San Clemente Catholic Church and the VFW. He was a very religious man who loved gardening and the outdoors. He proudly served his country in the U S Army during WWII in the South Pacific Theatre. He retired from the Federal Government with 30 years of dedicated service as a security officer. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard in 1961; his parents, Bentura Sr. and Lupe Gonzales; one brother, Alberto in 2003 and one sister, Mary Stogden. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Anita of the family home; three sons, Jerry and his wife, Karen of Flagstaff, AZ, Ben and his wife, Judy of Davis, CA, Johnny and his wife, Gloria of Albuquerque, NM; seven grandchildren; and one sister, Elena Ramirez of Roswell, NM. He is also survived by his many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 2, 2003 at 9:00 a.m. at the San Clemente Catholic Church in Los Lunas. Tedoro "Ted" Griego died Friday, April 18, 2003 in Chandler, Arizona surrounded by his family. He was 65 years old, born to Juan Bautista and Celina (Tapia) Griego on July 23, 1937 in Tapia, New Mexico. He was the third eldest of thirteen children. He is survived by his wife, May Faye Griego; sons, Ted Griego, John Griego, Kenneth Griego (Stacey); and two granddaughters, Hannah and Sarah Griego. A Mass and burial will be held at La Morada de San Jose, 2100 La Vega Rd SW, Albuquerque, at 1:00 a.m. on May 3, 2003.

Ruth Aragon Gutierrez, 83, a native New Mexican, died Monday, April 28, 2003. She is survived by her son, Miguel P. Trujillo and wife, Mary Beth Patterson of Mt. View, CA; daughter, Juanita Gurule and husband, Al of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Lori Trujillo of San Marino, CA, Lisa Trujillo Golden and husband, Rickey of Berkeley, CA, John Henry Gurule, Theresa Von Antropoff and Matthew Gurule; great-grandsons, Zachary Winton, John Paul Gurule and Christoph Von Antropoff, Jr.; sister, Bernice Chase-Adams and husband, Dow of Albuquerque; and numerous nieces, nephews and family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Gutierrez; parents, Feliciano and Eva Bent Aragon; siblings, Isabel Espinosa Beard, Lucille Aragon Mares, Conrad Aragon, Jess Aragon and Philip Aragon. Ruth was a member of our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, Altar Guild, Legion of Mary Society, Auxiliary member of VFW for 35 years, and was active in the Highland Senior Citizens Center. She enjoyed life, loved dancing, New Mexico Art and music. Ruth was a direct descendant of Charles Bent, first Territorial Governor of New Mexico. Rosary will be recited Thursday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Mass will be celebrated Friday, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas NE. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Reginald D. Harris, 6, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away April 24, 2003. He is survived by his mother, Floyd Ann Johnson and father, Walter Harris. Mickey L. Miller, 82, died Sunday, April 27, 2003 in Albuquerque. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Louise Dean Miller; three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Sid Kelly of Corrales, Lee and Randy Parks of Pasadena, CA and Lynne and Rich Carson of Albuquerque; and one grandson, Daniel Miller Parks of Pasadena, CA. Mr. Miller was born July 26, 1920, at Women's & Children's Hospital in Albuquerque, retired in 1990 after teaching, coaching and serving as athletic and activities director for Albuquerque Public Schools for 44 years. He was the first teacher-coach hired for Highland High School, three years before the school opened in 1949. He taught mathematics and history while coaching football, basketball and baseball at the then-Jefferson Junior High School. He became assistant principal at Highland in 1963 and transferred to Albuquerque Public School's central office in 1970. Miller graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1939, starring in football, basketball, and baseball, and from UNM in 1943, earning nine UNM varsity letters in the same three sports. He is one of two Lobo athletes to earn these honors. He received a master's degree in administration of secondary athletics from Columbia University, New York City, in 1949. He wrote a handbook in this field after retiring. He had written a number of handbooks on elementary physical education, high school athletics, high school activities, and student responsibilities and rights before his retirement. For several years Mr. Miller scouted for several major league baseball teams, with particular service for the Pittsburg Pirates. Former NM Governor, Bruce King appointed him in 1992 as a public member of the NM Dentistry Board, on which he served six years. His awards include citations from Highland High School, Albuquerque Public Schools, New Mexico Coaches Association, New Mexico Officials Association, New Mexico Association for Health, Physical Education and Dance, and the six-state Southwest District AAHPERD, having served as president of each of the organizations. In 1999, Miller was presented an honor award by the National AAHPERD at its convention in Boston, the only New Mexico and Southwest District member ever to receive this honor. The UNM Alumni Lettermen's Association, of which he was the founding secretary-treasurer, elected him to its Hall of Honor in 1994, and he was inducted into the Albuquerque Sports Hall of Fame in 1995. Miller was one of the UNM players honored at the Legends of Lobo 100 Years of Basketball dinner earlier this year. Miller served as an usher at the First United Methodist Church, of which he was a lifelong member. He was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity at UNM. Services will be held Thursday, 2:00 p.m., at First United Methodist Church, Fourth and Lead SW. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be his three sons-in-law, Dr. Randy Parks, Dr. Rich Carson and Sid Kelly and Jack Easley, Jim Hulsman and Buddy Robertson. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Rushing, Hugh Hackett, Clem Charlton, Bud Adams, James Paulantis, William Thompson and former Governor Bruce King. All Highland High School athletes who played for Coach Miller and his UNM Lobo teammates will be considered honorary pallbearers. Dorothy "Dot" A. Olsen, born in Salt Lake City on August 23, 1925, passed away Sunday April 27, 2003, after long battle with lung and heart disease. Dot was a wonderful mother and homemaker for her three sons while her husband served his country in the U.S. Air Force. She grew up in Salt Lake and lived in many parts of the country, living in Albuquerque since 1968. Dot loved to read, sew, solve crossword puzzles, and work at various domestic crafts. She also enjoyed playing cards on Wednesdays with her lady friends. She and her husband spent many happy hours traveling in their motor home and spending time with the Chaparral and Cuatro Estados Motor Home Clubs. She is survived by her husband of 56 years Lt. Col. (ret.) Preston Bryce "Oley" Olsen; her three sons Preston Craig Olsen and his wife, Candie of Coupeville, WA, Bradley Howard Olsen and his wife, Cathy of Placitas, and David James Olsen and his wife, Diana of Rio Rancho; her grandchildren Dana, Michael, Derrick, James, and Jason and his wife, Elizabeth; and one great-granddaughter, Cailyn. She is also survived by her brother, Charles Howard of Salt Lake City; sister, Sharon Carroll and husband Jay of New Orleans, and sister, Cathy Anderson and husband, Doug of Denver. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, April 30, 2003, 3:30 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, with Pastor Lemuel Boyles officiating. Randall R. Parker, age 79, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2003. He was born on a farm near Waterloo, Iowa, the eldest of four sons, to Leslie Buryl and Leona Parker. He was a graduate of Parsons College, Fairfield, Iowa, receiving his MA degree from the University of Iowa. He was a teacher, principal, and school board member in the Illinois and Wisconsin schools. The family moved to Albuquerque in 1965 when he became the Business Administrator for St. Paul Lutheran Church. In 1971 he and his wife became administrators of Encino House and retired from there in 1992. He was preceded in death by his three brothers and his youngest son, Glenn M. Parker. He is survived by his wife, Mary Virginia; son, Rickford R. Parker and wife, Sandy; daughter, Romanie R. Ross, and husband, Sam; grandsons, Steven Ripple of Albuquerque, Andrew Parker and wife, Mary of Colorado Springs, Jared Parker and wife, Sarah, of Dubuque, Iowa, and Christian Parker of Tampa, Florida; granddaughter, Rachelle Maxwell and husband, Kenny; great-grandsons, K.C. and Robbie Maxwell; and great-granddaughters, Kyra and Emily Parker. Memorial services will be held Thursday, May 1, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1100 Indian School Rd. NE. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or a charity of your choice.
