Harmon Funeral services for Mr. James T. Harmon will be held Tuesday at the St. Edwin Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitations will be held on Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Eulogy service to follow at &;00 p.m. at the Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400-3rd St, SW.

Daphna A. Henning, age 91, a resident of Albuquerque for 55 years, died Friday, April 30, 1999, in a local nursing home. She is survived by three sons, Bob G. Henning and his former wife, Carolyn, Larry D. Henning and wife, Marci, and Jack L. Henning and his wife, Kathy; two grandchildren, Barbara Tedder and Pat Staggs; six great-grandchildren, Rachel, Sarah, Jessica, John, Bradley and Ryan. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Henning; four brothers, Roy, Wassa, John and Roscoe; three sisters, Addie, Minnie and Pearl. Mrs. Henning was the Cafeteria Manager at Mountain View Elementary School for over 20 years. She was a starting forward for the 1927 Rocky Ford High School Colorado State Runner-up basketball team. She was very proud of the fact that she had traveled the Oregon Trail by covered wagon. Mrs. Henning was a 4-H leader in the Mountain View area for many years. She also lived and owned property at Bluewater Lake and enjoyed the outdoors. Graveside services will be held Monday, May 3, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. in Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery. Fidel A. Montoya, 75, a beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother was called home to be with the Lord, Saturday, May 1, 1999. Mr. Montoya was born in Magdalena, NM to Felipe and Telesfora Montoya. He was a parishioner of St. Anne's Catholic Church, a proud veteran of the United States Army who served his country during World War II. He met the love of his life, Carmen Sanchez, whom he married on May 4, 1944. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Timothy Lovato. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Carmen Montoya of the family home; three sons, Victor Montoya and wife, Virginia of Arvado, CO, John Mares and wife, Bernadette of Albuquerque and Robbie Romero, also of Albuquerque; four daughters, Debbie Aragon and husband, Lester of Albuquerque, Jeanette Morrison of Dallas, TX, Anita Morrison and Karen Gallegos, both of Albuquerque; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Also, surviving are one brother, Bernard Montoya of Mesa, AZ; and one sister, Josephine Ortiz of Albuquerque. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. Visitations will be Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary, on the corner of 8th and Iron where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial is pending and will be announced. Interment will follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be Lester Aragon, Robbie Romero, Victor Montoya, John Mares, Brian Aragon and Ramiro Reyes. Lupe G. Armijo, 88, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, May 1, 2000. She is survived by her daughters, Martha A. Swink and husband, Marvin of Anchorage, AK, Priscilla Palmisano and husband, Leon, Charlene Knipfing and husband, Dick and Joann Barabe and husband, Paul, all of Albuquerque; grandsons, Marvin Swink II and wife, Chris of Anchorage, AK, Steve Palmisano of Jacksonville, FL, Trey Knipfing and wife, Annette and Jon-Paul Barabe, all of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Michele S. Donah and husband, Mike of North Bend, WA, Sandi Worsham and husband, Jerry of Phoenix, AZ, Leanne Palmisano of Denver, CO, Jennifer Hanson and husband, Scott of Seattle, WA, Kristina Johnson and husband, Paul of Albuquerque and Melissa Pacheco and husband, Christopher of Rio Rancho; ten great-grandchildren, Marc, Mackenzie, Donald, Shannon, Jerry III, Tyler, Sarah, Ashley, Jack and Maggie; sister, Gertrude Johnson of Tucson, AZ; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Armijo was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Armijo. She was a lifelong Catholic, recently attending Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. She was a member of the St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary. Mrs. Armijo was a loving, kind, sweet and gentle person who will be greatly missed. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Father Francis X. Eggert reciting. Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1818 Coal Pl. SE, with Archbishop Michael J. Mary Louise (Reeser) Bender was born on January 9, 1925 in Joplin, MO to Malcom and Mary Reeser. She moved to Albuquerque in 1969 with her family. She sang with the Symphony Chorus, the Albuquerque Civic Chorus, and in the Chancel Choir of the First United Methodist Church. Her great loves in her life were: her family, classical music (especially opera), her roses, and baseball (especially her Chicago Cubs). She volunteered her time, first at the UNM Hospital newborn nursery, and later at the St. Joseph's Hospital Northeast. Mary died on April 30th surrounded by her family. She is survived by Lynn Bender; her sons, Mark Bender and wife, Scone of Newport, Washington, Gary Bender and wife, Susan of Tijeras, NM; daughters, Marilyn Large and husband, James of Albuquerque, and Rita Garcia and husband, Victor of Albuquerque. Her grandchildren are Willow Fodor and husband, Luke of Chicago, IL, Esther Bender of Spokane, WA, Colin, Nathan and Scott Large of Albuquerque, Kari Garcia of Albuquerque, and Whitney Bender of Tijeras, NM. She is also survived by her sisters, Betty Carmain and husband, Harold of Escondido, CA, and Dorothy Thomas of Mesquite, TX. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Donald D. Cleveland, 89, passed away Monday, May 1, 2000. He was born in Iowa, August 16, 1910 and moved to Kansas as a small boy. He carried papers and later worked as a typesetter for the Cherryvale Republican. He moved to California, where he worked for the Los Angeles Times for 25 years. He served in the Navy during World War II as a Radar Specialist. After retirement he moved to Los Lunas and later to Albuquerque, where he made many friends at the Senior Center, where he loved to dance. He is survived by a sister, Juanita McLeod of Los Lunas; nieces, Debbie McDonald of Albuquerque, Norma Johnson of Springfield, MO, Sue Beth Coxsey of Joplin, MO, Carol Cleveland of England; and nephews, Jim McLeod of Albuquerque, Richard Humes of Joplin, MO and Christopher Cleveland of England. Donald was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Thelma; and two brothers, Perry and Harold. Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 6, at Chapel of Sandia Funeral Care, with Pastor Rick Donaho of New Covenant Church, officiating. Esther Mae Coffman, 78, mother to Carol A. Bell, Linda J. Stephens, John A. Coffman and Judy L. Hauger passed from this world Saturday, April 29, 2000. She was cradled in the loving arms of her children as she left. Besides her children, who were her life, she is survived by her sons-in-law, G. Eric Bell and Michael Hauger of Albuquerque; her daughter-in-law, Terri Horton Coffman of Edgewood, NM; and grandchildren; Stephanie Spray, John Spray, Jennifer Stephens, Casey Coffman, Kimberly Coffman, and Alex Hauger; and by great-grandson, Elijah Spray; her sister, Doris Flowers of Oklahoma and dear friend, Diana Fein. Her husband, Abram L. "Johnny ", preceded her death in 1976. She and her husband packed their four children in their '48 Mercury and moved to Albuquerque from Long Beach, California in 1956. There was never any question that their children would have the education that was not afforded to them. Thus, they choose Albuquerque because of the University. She loved learning. She worked for many years at Sandia National Laboratories, retiring in 1988. She developed COPD shortly after retirement and spent the last years of her life battling the disease. She never complained. She moved to Sun Bridge Mission Manor in July where she was lovingly cared for. Graveside services were held Tuesday, May 2, 2000, 1:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Mr. Lloyd DeTevis was born in Dawson, NM, February 17, 1923. He died suddenly on April 28, 2000. He is survived by his son, Lloyd Jr.; and his sister, Virginia and husband, Earl Francis; two nieces; and one nephew. He was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, was a graduate of Albuquerque High School, 1942; joined the Army Air Corp, December, 1942; served in England, 1943-1945; and in 1948 joined the IBEW Electrical Union. He breathed and lived Union--Mr. Union man. He traveled the lower 48, working in construction. He loved camping and fishing, and being on the road, especially long trips. Interment will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery on May 4, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. Deacon Lloyd D. Martinez will conduct the gravesite services.

Constance L. Hammond passed away suddenly Saturday, April 29, 2000. Mrs. Hammond, originally from Pittsburg, PA, was an active member of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, and did volunteer work for both the New Mexico Jazz Workshop and UNM Popejoy Hall. She is survived by her husband, Frank Hammond; daughter, Debra Brown and step-daughter, Matlena Hammond; step-son, Gerald Hammond, all of Albuquerque; grandsons, Bryon Thomas Nash, Lt. Andre Lee Brown of Pittsburg; granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Nash; great-grandsons, Thomas A. Nash, Xavier Lee Brown; brother, Hershel Phillips; and a sister, Tondaleyo Phillips. Viewing and wake will be held 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, from Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle NE. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, at Fellowship Missionary Church, 515 Ash SE. Interment will follow in the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Michael Jonathan Baca-Lopez, 9, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully at home in the arms of his loving family on May 1, 2000. Michael was the beloved son of Anthony Lopez and Mary M. Baca. He is also survived by one sister, Stephanie and one brother, Lewis Baca; his grandparents, Helen Bargas, Carmen Lopez and Louie and Delfina Baca; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Michael was a 4th grade student at Atrisco Elementary School. Michael will be greatly missed by all. Rosary will be recited Wednesday evening, 7:00 p.m., at St. Edwins Catholic Church, 2105 Barcelona SW, with visitation after 6:30 p.m. Mary Harris reciting. Clair George Potts, 67, an Albuquerque resident since 1963, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 30, 2000. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Gloria; daughter and son-in-law, Robyn and Randy Kelley of Ft. Worth, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Gary Purser of Rowville, Victoria, Australia; son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Kathy Potts of Mesa, AZ; grandchildren, Ryan and Jeremy Kelley, Brittany and Taylor Purser, Timothy, Kara and Jacob Potts, and Becky and Ben Edwards. He is also survived by brothers, Dean and his wife, Martha; Meredith and his wife, Betty; Clyde and his wife, Vivian; and Wayne and his wife, Janet; a sister, Wadna Dillon; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him greatly. Mr. Potts served his country well for 20
years with the United States Air Force, and 26 years as a civilian employee of Kirtland Air Force Base, having retired January 1, 2000. He was a USSSA and ASA umpire and supervisor at Bullhead Softball Complex. As a member of First Baptist Church, he faithfully served in many areas. Services celebrating his life will be held Thursday, 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Rev. Dennis Lihte officiating. Interment will take place at 1:30 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jim Barnes, Louis Besse, Dale Brannon, Dr. B.J. Davis, Bob Ewing and George Stevens. Delbert Howard Swindle, The light of many lives passed from this life... husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend was born in Tuscola, Texas on January 17, 1917. "Del" was a resident of Albuquerque since 1945. He received a degree in Pharmacy from Capitol College in Denver, Colorado, in 1937 and owned and operated Model Pharmacy for 40 years. He held New Mexico Pharmacy license number 1710. Delbert and his family were charter members of Central United Methodist Church and recent members of Calvary Chapel. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Frances; daughters, Martha Del Abernathy and Francine Zimmerly and her husband, Sam; son, Lester Howard Swindle and wife, Connie; grandchildren, Meghan Walters and husband, Ansel, Hadley and Charley Abernathy, Lisa Barresi and husband, Ray, Wright Zimmerly and wife, Kari, Chad Zimmerly and wife, Julie, Marc Swindle and Debi Klein, Brock Swindle and wife, Angela, and Natalie Rogers; great-grandchildren, Kaitlin, Kourtney and Cash Zimmerly and Jessica Barresi. Delbert and Frances were charter members of Circle 8 Square Dancers and Sagebrush Shufflers, for whom Delbert was principal caller for five years. He and Frances made many trips to the ocean, his favorite place, thus his license plate, "Sea Y'all." His hobbies were golf, gardening and most of all, cooking. Mr. Faustin (Stanley) Tapia died Monday in Albuquerque at the age of 52. Mr. Tapia was preceded in death by his father, Federico Tapia; brother, Cayetano Tapia; and sister, Lucy Tapia. He is survived by his mother, Lugarda Tapia; wife, Bertha Montano; son, Stanley Montano; daughter, Roxanne Padilla and husband, James; brothers, Eutemio Tapia, Fred Tapia, Steve Tapia, George Tapia and Joseph Tapia; sisters, Stella Gonzales, Connie Cardenas, and Elizabeth Tapia Aragon; and grandchildren, James and Janelle Padilla. Funeral services for Mr. Tapia will be held on Thursday at the St. Anne Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Johnny Aragon, James Padilla, Michael Montano, George Tapia Jr., Adam Cardenas Jr., and Anthony West. Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Tapia, George Tapia and Steve Tapia. DAVE A. TOWNDROW
1979-2000
Mr. Dave Allen Towndrow, 20, passed away April 29th. He had been a resident of Los Lunas for the past five years, having moved here from Albuquerque. Dave had worked for the Rasband Dairy and most recently delivered sheet rock to construction sites. He was starting training to be a volunteer firefighter for the Bernalillo County Fire Dept. Dave is survived by his parents, Dianna and Bob Towndrow of Los Lunas; sister, Sandy Perez and her husband, Gilbert of Los Lunas; grandparents, Harry and Virginia Towndrow of Albuquerque, and Bettie Steely of Belen; aunts and uncles, Linda Saunders of Albuquerque, John Towndrow of Albuquerque, Carl and Tammie Towndrow of Albuquerque, and Pam Steely and Sharon Smithey, both of Colorado; nephews, Tyler and Jason Perez of Los Lunas; and many other family members. A Memorial service to celebrate Dave's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, at Riverside Chapel with Pastor Winfred W. Walker officiating. The family would like to thank the New Mexico State Police Search & Rescue Dive Team for their assistance and compassion. ERNESTINE ARCHULETA MARTINEZ, 81, of El Rito died Sunday following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Felimon Archuleta; daughter, Linda Romero; grandson, Bobby Allen Valdez; and granddaughter, Tina Marie Joseph. She is survived by her children, Berlinda Joseph and husband Daniel of Albuquerque, Phil Archuleta and fiancee Mannie Chavez of Mountainair, Bertha Archuleta and husband Larry of Las Vegas, N.M., Neddie Archuleta and wife Esther and Maybel Ocana and husband Lizandro, all of El Rito, and Judy Mae Vasquez of Albuquerque and Antonette Valdez of El Rito; nephew and niece she raised, Jimmy Gonzales and Mary Ann Ciencio; sister, Genoveva Gonzales and husband Vicente of Grand Junction, Colo.; brother-in-law, Salomon Archuleta and wife Veroniz of El Rito; sister-in-law, Adelaida Vasquez of El Rito; 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at San Juan de Nepomuceno Catholic Church in El Rito. Burial will follow at the El Rito Community Center. DeVargas Funeral Home, Espaņola.

Alice May Blanchard, age 89, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2001. Born in Washington NJ, December 14, 1911, a resident of Las Vegas, NM for 46 years and residing in Albuquerque since July 1998. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Charles L. Blanchard. She is survived by her daughters, Jeri Ward and husband, Joe of Clovis, NM, Jane Wilson and husband, Mel of Albuquerque, NM, Jackie Ratcliffe and husband, Bob of Charlotte, NC. Also, surviving are four grandchildren, Charles Ward and wife, Linda of Wichita, Kansas, Jeffrey Wilson of Albuquerque, NM, Jan Wilson of Los Lunas, NM, Dawn Ratcliffe of Charlotte, NC; four great-grandchildren, Stephanie McCullough and husband, J.D., Pamela Ward of Wichita, Kansas, Gatlin Green, Brittany and Tori Wilson, all of Albuquerque, NM; three great-great-grandchildren, Angela, Sam and Quentin Ward of Wichita, Kansas; dear friends are Ron and Rosalind Clark, Wayne Proell, Barbara Proell, Melvin and Fern Park and Ben and Emily Lopez, all of Las Vegas, NM. Carl Avon Burton, born February 5, 1918 in Solano, NM, son of Noel and Gertrude (Masters) Burton. He is survived by his wife, Loan Burton of Albuquerque; daughter, Carol A. Martinez and husband, Danny of Belen; sons, Gregory D. Burton and wife, Mona of Albuquerque and Ken Le Burton and wife, Lisa of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren, Ronda, Cheryl, Tracy, Holly, Tara, Trinity, Elijah, and Joshua; and four great grandchildren. Mr. Burton was a decorated veteran of WWII. He was a longtime member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited Thursday, May 3, 2001, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Ruth S. Campbell, a resident of Albuquerque since 1938, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2001. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Howard Campbell; and son, Kenneth Strong Campbell, both of Albuquerque. She was a signature member of the New Mexico Watercolor Society and a member of La Mesa Presbyterian Church. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held Friday, 10:00 a.m., at La Mesa Presbyterian Church, 7401 Copper NE, with Rev. Trey Hammond officiating. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.
