Ireland O. Lindsey, 79, a resident of Rio Rancho since the late 1970's, passed away on April 30, 2002. He was born on September 14, 1922 in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He served his country proudly in the United States Coast Guard during WWII. Ireland volunteered for many years with Meals on Wheels, was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Rio Rancho, Edelweiss am der Rio Grande German-American Club and the Elferrat, life-time member of the American Legion Post 69 and VFW Post 58980, and was a member of the Meadowlark Senior Center. He is survived by his beloved wife, Inge Lindsey of the family home in Rio Rancho; step-sons, Peter Nolte and wife, Sandra, Holger E. Nolte; and grandchild; numerous cousins in California and Indiana, and a host of very special friends. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Joseph Henry Malone, age 72 and a resident of Albuquerque since 1975, died on April 30, 2002. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was an active member of Risen Savior Catholic Community and volunteered for Sandia Hospice. Mr. Malone was preceded in death by his wife, Gerry Malone, in 1999. He is survived by five children, Terry G. Malone and wife, Karen and G. Michael Malone and wife, Diane Fehrenbach, all of Albuquerque, Timothy J. Malone and wife, Suzanne Jones of Oak Park, CA, James A. Malone and wife, Arlene of Ft. Collins, CO and Peggy E. Balaberda and husband, Warren of Chandler, AZ and by four grandchildren, Alexandra and Victoria Malone and Mackenzie and Rachael Malone. Also surviving are a sister, Ellen Brown of Wichita, KS and two brothers, John Malone of Shawnee Mission, KS and Thomas Malone of Florissant, MO. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Sunday, May 5, 2002 at Chapel of Sandia, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am Monday, May 6 at Risen Savior Catholic Community with Fr. Richard Olona as Celebrant. Inurnment will follow at 2:00 pm at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Carolyn K. Miller, 58, a resident of Albuquerque since 1983, died Friday, May 3, 2002. She is survived by her husband, Norman Don Miller of Albuquerque; daughters; Robin Lynn Pasnewski of Albuquerque, Tamist Kay Porter of Sioux Falls, SD, and Dawn Devona Drittler of Rockland, CA; sons; Paul Allan Miller of Albuquerque and Eugene Matthew Miller of Indiana; seven grandchildren; Jacquelyn; Che Dakotah; Kayley; Megan; Shelby; Nicholas, and Autumn. Jessica Krystine Rachel Mora, 17, a vibrant and loving child went home to be with God on Thursday, May 2, 2002. She was a junior at Belen High School. She was involved in the high school choir, a varsity cheerleader, and also a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Tome. She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Billy B. Mora. She is survived by her parents, William and Sandra Mora of Adelino, NM; her younger brother, Dominic Mora; maternal grandparents, Gilbert and Gloria Garcia; paternal grandmother, Maryann Mora; great-grandmother, Theresa Mora; her uncles and aunts, Ralph and his wife, Cindy Mora; Vincent; Mark; and Michael Mora; Paulette and her husband, David Gonzales; Gilbert and his wife, Judy Garcia; and Margaret and her husband, Paul Mares, all of Albuquerque. She is also survived by many loving cousins and friends. All services will take place at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Tome. A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2002 at 5:30pm followed by a Rosary at 6:00pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 6, 2002 at 1:00pm. Madonna M. Moye, born in Kokomo, Indiana on June 21, 1912, to John and Carrie Priesthoff, passed away on May 4, 2002. Madonna moved to Albuquerque in October of 1938. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Donald E. Moye, whom she married in June of 1940; and their three sons, J. Robert and wife, Betty Ann of Seattle, William J. and wife, Laurie and J. Michael and wife, Carol, all of Albuquerque; a sister, Mrs. Florence Peters of Tucson; four grandsons, Scot Moye and wife, Linley of Portland, Bryan Moye and wife, Marguerite of Los Angeles, Paul Moye and wife, Sarah of Seattle, and Jason Moye and wife, Claire of Davenport; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. 'Donna' was a member of Immaculate Conception parish. For 58 years she was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Santa Maria #317. She was also active in the National Federated Republican Women, Zia Chapter, St. Joseph Auxiliary, and a volunteer at St. Joseph Medical Center. She graduated from the Western School for Private Secretaries and was in the accounting business with her husband for 30 years. Estevan (Steve) Pargas, 40, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on May 3, 2002. Steve is survived by his parents, Rafael Sr. and Adela Pargas; his daughter, Samantha Pargas; his sister, Kathy Keddy and husband, John; seven brothers, Jimmy Valdespino and wife, Virginia, Ben Pargas and wife, Marilyn, Tony Pargas and wife, Henri, Ralph Pargas Jr., Michael Pargas and wife, Patricia, Ricky Pargas and wife, Diane, Tony Parra and wife, Stella; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Steve was preceded in death by his sister, Camilla Pargas Harrison. Steve was a member of the Catholic Church. Visitation will be Monday evening in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Marilyn Pargas. Final visitation will be Tuesday morning from 11:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 1200 noon at St. Edwin Catholic Church, 2105 Barcelona SW by Father Bill Sanchez. Verlie Phillippi passed away on April 23, 2002. Born in Alberta Provence, Canada on September 26, 1911, she was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Phillippi. A long time resident of Farmington, NM and Bosie, ID, she moved to Albuquerque in June of 1999. She is survived by her sister, Mazie Archibald of Boise, ID; her children, Charles W. Phillippi and wife, Deborah J. Cassady of Albuquerque, NM, and D. Ludene Frerking and husband, Jerry of Sunrise Beach, MO; and also by her grandchildren, Cindy Herndon, Jeffrey Hembree, and Sherry Rawlings of Texas and Missouri. A private memorial service will be held in Meridian, Idaho in August of 2002. William M. Polk, Sr., a long time resident of Albuquerque, died on May 1, 2002 at the age of eighty-three. His spouse of thirty-one years, Pauline Polk died in 1997. He is survived by his son William M. Polk, Jr.; his daughter-in-law Linda; and grandchildren Allison and Ryan. The oldest of nine children, Mr. Polk was born in Texas and worked the family farm while attending school until joining the Navy at age seventeen. He served twenty years in the Navy, rising to the rank of Chief Petty Office. He was wounded during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor at the start of World War II and was a member of the original Black Cat Squadron that patrolled the Pacific Islands in the famous PBY reconnaissance aircraft. He saw action during the Korean War on the aircraft carrier Essex. After retiring from the Navy he attended the University of New Mexico and later obtained a business degree in accounting from Draughn's Business College. He then worked at the state funded New Mexico Girl's School as business manager, assistant director and interim director until retiring at age sixty-five. He was active with the local Elk's Lodge, helped build Albuquerque's first Babe Ruth League baseball field in 1959 and loved playing golf at the University North Course. By his request he will be cremated and interred at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe. The family asks that no flowers or other items be sent, merely that he be remembered fondly by those who knew him.

William Donald. Santillanes died Monday, May 2, 2002 in Albuquerque at the age of 54 He is preceded in death by his Grandparents Arturo and Benerita Gutierrez, and Luis and Rosa Santillanes. also by his brothers Freddie and Eddie Santillanes. He is survived by his Father, Jose A. (Billy) Santillanes and Mother, Ellen Santillanes; four brothers David L. Santillanes and wife, Marlene of Albuq; Fred Santillanes of Albuquerque, Ronnie Santillanes and wife, Roxanne of Albuquerque, and Jason Rodarte of Albuquerque; four sisters, Joann Rael and husband, Johnny of Albuquerque, Bennie Romero and husband, Cajey of Albuquerque., Jenell Flamenco of Albuquerque, and Audrey Guerra of Brea, CA. His children, Donald Cortez, Russell Santillanes, Jude Santillanes, Ciera Santillanes and Olivia Santillanes; One special uncle, Nestor Gutierrez and numerous Aunts and Uncles, and cousins. Funeral Services for William Donald Santillanes will be held on Monday at Our Lady Of Guadalupe where the Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 noon also a viewing will be held at Church at 11:30 a.m prior to mass. Herley Dana Sharp, age 51 a resident of Houston, TX, died unexpectedly May 2, 2002, while on assignment in Phoenix, Arizona. He was widely respected as a Certified Trainer and Crane Rigging Specialist with Baldwin Industrial Services. A friend says, 'Dana was a good man ' tried, tested, and true- whether son, father, brother, husband, or friend. Good Old HD always came through!' Dana is survived by his wife, Jeanette; daughter, Maggie; son, Justin; and stepson, Brent Kirby, all of Houston. He is also survived by his parents G. Robert and Emily Sharp of Albuquerque; his sisters, Amanda and husband, Richard Thompson of Trinidad, Colorado; Melissa Sharp of Moline, Illinois; Amy and husband, Stephen Rhutasel of Albuquerque; niece, Liza 'Lee' and husband, Scott Norris of Peralta; and five other nieces, nephews and a grand nephew. Ronna J. Simmons, 54, a resident of Albuquerque for 15 years, died Thursday, May 2, 2002. She is survived by her husband Dwight Simmons of the family home; daughter, Cinda James and husband, Tom of Corrales; son, Rob Simmons and wife, Ferris of Albuquerque; father and mother, Wilbur and Claudene Ray of Arboles, CO; grandchildren, Darin, Travis, Ashton, and Kameron; brother, Ron T. Ray and wife, Geri Ann of Pittsburg, CA; sister, Vicki Fontana and husband, Anthony of Modesto, CA; nieces and nephews, Todd Ray, Kim Bowman, Shawna Clayton, Joe, Domenic, Matthew and Nathan Fontana; and three grand nephews. Mrs. Simmons was born and raised in Roswell, and moved to California where she graduated from cosmetology school in 1962. She continued her education and operated an accounting and tax preparation business. In 1981, Mrs. Simmons moved to Colorado and entered the field of social work where she made a positive difference in the families' lives she worked with making the future brighter for their children. She was devoted to her family and friends and was loved by all who knew her. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Modesto, CA. Her faith in Christ was strong and she was an inspiration to others. Services will be held Wednesday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel with Brother Kelly Winlock officiating. Arthur P. Stanton, a resident of Socorro, NM died on Saturday, April 27, 2002. He was born in Albuquerque, NM on October 9, 1912 to Antonio and Mercedes Chavez of pioneer New Mexico families. He graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1932 and from the University of New Mexico in 1937 with a B.S. in mathematics. He served in the South Pacific (Mariana and Gilberts campaigns) until the end of WWII. In 1945, he married Jean Thompson. Following military service, he became the Albuquerque Assistant City Manager. In 1947, he joined New Mexico Tech as Registrar and Personnel Manager, instituting Tech's Honors Work-Study program in 1952. After retiring from Tech, he joined the University of New Mexico and developed the New Mexico State Student Loan Program. memberships include Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, the Albuquerque 20/30 Club, Socorro Presbyterian Church and Socorro Rotary Club. He served as president of the rotary club, was a Paul Harris Fellow and District Governor Representative. His hobbies included home improvement, golf and fishing. Art is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mercedes Garoffolo; daughter, Ann Stanton and husband, David Connor of Montpelier, VT; son, Thomas Stanton and wife, Mary of Polvadera, NM; four grandchildren, Christopher and Benjamin Stanton, Jesse Snipper and Nora Connor; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Memorial Services to celebrate his life will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Socorro with Rev. Phil Preston officiating. Edward John Taddiken IV met his Father in heaven on April 20, 2002. John died from complications from pneumonia. Many thanks to the staff at MICU, UNM for trying to save his life. John is survived by his life partner, John D. Teel, Placitas; son, E.J. Taddiken V, Albuquerque; sisters, Joan Gwin and Janice Milone; and father, Edward J. Taddiken III of Independence, Kansas. John received his Bachelor of Music degree in viola from the University of Kansas and did his master's work at Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, TX. He was a professional violist on staff at Taos, NM Summer School Chamber Music for four years. John held the position of principal viola in the Fort Worth Symphony. From 66-68, John was a member of the Kansas State College resident String Quartet and played in the Tulsa Philharmonic. Recently John was executive chef and co-owner of a successful catering business in Placitas. A celebratory Eucharist will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2002 at 5:30 p.m., a potluck will follow at St. Michael's and All Angels Episcopal Church, 601 Montano Rd. NW. Billie G. Tingley, 55, resident of Albuquerque since 1965, died Friday, May 3, 2002. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Jeff Tingley, sons; Rick Tingley, and wife, Ronda of Jaralles, NM; Jeffrey Tingley and partner Jerrett Morris, of Dallas, TX; daughter, Kimberly Duran of Albuquerque; grandchildren; Jacquie Duran, Robert Tingley, and Reata Tingley; mother, Shirleen Eagleburger of Phoenix, AZ; sisters; Ann R. Jones of Albuquerque; Deborah Gordan of Albuquerque; Tami Young of Phoenix, AZ; Michelle Harden of Phoenix. She was preceded in death by her father Paul Eagleburger and brother Leroy Gordon. Billie was the most generous, caring, loving person and she will be greatly missed. Eugene J. "Gene" Tourville, 46, a loving son and father passed away May 2, 2002. He was born, February 26, 1956 in Taos, NM. and attended school in Albuquerque, having graduated from Rio Grande High School. Gene attended college at Western New Mexico in Silver City and completed a BS. Degree in Administration of Justice. He loved to work and worked at the Uranium Mines in Grants, he served as Deputy Sheriff in Socorro County, and was a policeman at the New Mexico Tech., also in Socorro. Gene is survived by his daughter Maria Teresa Tourville; grandsons Nathan and Ryan; his son David Tourville; his parents John and Sally Tourville of Albuquerque; brothers Daniel and his wife Deborah of Reno, NV., Timothy and wife Valerie of Albuquerque, Robert of Reno, Nevada; his sister Virginia Montoya and husband Albert, and Nora Jean Tourville all of Albuquerque. Services will be held at St. Edwins Catholic Church, Barcelona and Del Rio SW. A memorial rosary will be recited at 7:00pm on Monday, May 6, 2002. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Tuesday, May 7, 2002, with burial following at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews and nieces. Lucy Ann Warner, a woman whose zest for life touched all who knew her, died peacefully at home on Saturday, May 4, 2002. She was born on April 16, 1937, in Northampton, Massachusetts to Louise Walker Warner and Joseph Warner Jr. She graduated from the University of Colorado with a BA in English Literature, studied fine arts at the University of New Mexico, and got her Master of Fine Arts degree from the Cranbrook Academy in Birmingham, Michigan. She later became an artist in residence at a museum in Alexandria, Virginia, where she gave lectures and developed outreach programs on weaving and textile design. Lucy Ann and her family moved to Albuquerque in 1947. She was a professional weaver and textile designer. She had her own studio and attained national prominence for her keen sense of color and design. Her work was represented in galleries in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, New York, Chicago, and Arizona. One of her pieces is in the permanent collection in the Detroit Art Museum. She was very active in community affairs and served on the Board of Directors of People Living Through Cancer, where she chaired the Board Development Committee. She was also a former board member of the New Mexico Arthritis Foundation. A woman of many passions, Lucy Ann loved singing and was a voice student of Carmoline Grady. She also enjoyed entertaining and cooking for her friends, traveling, and dancing. She had a positive approach to life always believing that her cup was always full. Lucy Ann is survived by her beloved companion, Morrie Blumberg; her brothers Joseph Warner III and his wife, Sum of Albuquerque; David Hunt Warner and his wife, Liz of Seattle; nieces and nephews, Jasmine Warner, Robert Warner, Michael Warner, Jenny Warner, Kathy Warner and Jon Warner. She also is survived by many special friends who meant so much to Lucy Ann. Kenelm Crawford Winslow LTC, USAFR (RT), 81, died April 30 of pancreatic cancer. Born in Albany, NY January 24, 1921, he grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. He earned multiple degrees, attending Baltimore City College 1938, Bowling Green State University 1941, NYU 1942 and Michigan Tech 1948. During WWII he served in the Mighty Eighth as a meteorologist in England, France and Kwajalein. A man of immense curiosity, he continued his education throughout his life. Affiliations include Tau Beta Pi, Kappa Mu Epsilon, ROA, T-ROA, AIME/SME, NRA. He and his family moved to Taos in 1964 where he worked first for MolyCorp and then as an independent land surveyor and engineer. He is survived by Bette K. Winslow, wife of 54 years; children, Katherine Winslow Pond (Ashley), Jeanette Hodgson (Dean), Kenelm K. Winslow (Jane), Elizabeth Winslow Fruits (Tim), and Prisca Winslow Bradley (Charlie); grandchildren, Ashley Evan Pond (Julie), Adrienne Pond, Giselle Poole (Leith), Jessica Hodgson, and Winslow Fruits; siblings, Armour C. Winslow, Anne Wright (Robert), and Louise Windisch (Charlie); nephews, nieces and their children. Funeral Service was held on May 3, 2002 at First Presbyterian Church. Hugh B. Woodward, M.D., 77, passed away on April 26, 2002 in Scottsdale, Arizona. Dr. Woodward, a graduate of Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia, practiced internal medicine in Albuquerque for sixteen years before joining Mountain Bell as Medical Director for New Mexico. He was president of the New Mexico Medical Society, president of the New Mexico Society of Internal Medicine and Chief of Staff at St. Joseph's Hospital, Albuquerque. He moved to Phoenix in 1982 as Arizona Medical Director for USWest. Survivors include his wife, Aileen; children, Maureen Hollander and husband, Mark, JW Diuguid, Martin Woodward and Susanne Riveras and husband, Michael; six grandchildren; brothers, Americus and Donald Woodward; sisters, Marian Shapiro, Judy Woodward and Josephine Zagieboylo. A memorial celebration of his life was held at Westminster Village in Scottsdale, Arizona on May 4, 2002. Donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014. TELESFOR J. MONTANO, 79, of Las Vegas, N.M., died Thursday at Northeastern Regional Hospital. He was born and raised in Anton Chico on April 29, 1923, to the late Lugardo Montano and Pomposa Baros Montano. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a private and was honorably discharged in 1943. A lifelong Catholic, he was a member of the St. Joseph's Church in Anton Chico. He belonged to the White Cane Chapter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lugardo and Pomposa Montano; daughter, Theresa Montano-Romero; nephews, Michael Lopez and Ben Baros; brother-in-law, Camilo Lopez; aunts, Judy Griego and Dulcinea Randall; and uncles, Alfred Baros and Antonio Baros. He is survived by daughter, Helen Lucero of Anton Chico; brother, Alfonso Montano and wife, Rita, of Anton Chico; sisters, Claudine Montano of Las Vegas, N.M., Connie Lopez of Albuquerque, and Margaret Gutierrez and husband, Dwight, of Las Vegas, N.M.; three grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; special friends, Frank Roybal and Frank Gutierrez; and many other relatives. Visitation will be today and Sunday at Rogers Chapel. Rosary services will be at 7 p.m. today at the Rogers Chapel and 7 p.m. Sunday at St. Joseph's Church in Anton Chico. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Church with burial to follow at the Anton Cemetery. Rogers Mortuary.
