Stephen Todd Mathis, died Wednesday, June 19, 2002, after a long illness. Stephen was born in Albuquerque, January 24, 1970. He is survived by his parents, Kent and Sara Mathis; sister, Heather Fredrickson and husband, Chris; grandfather, Robert L. Mathis; uncle, Bill Martin and wife, Peggy; aunts, Mary Maichen and husband, Christopher, Shelly Prost; and numerous cousins. A Private Service will be held in Northern New Mexico. Because of his love for animals and the family's rescued racing greyhounds, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Greyhound Companions of New Mexico, P.O. Box 22053 Albuquerque, NM 87154-2053. Cremation has taken place. Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Directors 3113 Carlisle Blvd NE is handling the arrangements.

William C. Merritt, 82, a resident of Estancia, died Wednesday, June 19, 2002. He was born on October 26, 1919 in Torrance County to Thomas and Rose Merritt. Mr. Merritt was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving his country during WWII. He was stationed in Hawaii and worked as an airplane mechanic to repair downed planes in the many islands of the Pacific. After the war, he owned and operated a Dairy Farm in the Estancia Valley. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; brothers, Lee and Robert; and a sister, Tommy Jeanne Vaughn. He is survived by his sisters, Opal Garland, Lucy Clark, Lynette Cox and Ina Mitchell; brother, George Merritt; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held Saturday, June 22, 2002, at 2:00 p.m., at the First Baptist Church in Estancia. Interment will take place Monday, June 24, 2002, at 10:30 a.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. James Stephen (Steve) Perrin, 55, beloved husband, father and son-in-law, passed away, June 18, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Sheila Perrin; two sons, Stephen Gregory Perrin; his wife, Karen; and granddaughter, Alexis Rose; Shaun Perrin and his wife, Ashlyn; and two grandchildren, Gavin and Maranda; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Barbara and Coy Moss. Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Sedillo; and stepfather, Dennis Sedillo, of Williamsburg, NM. Steve was a member of Masonic Lodge Temple Lodge #6, Scottish Rite Consistory of Santa Fe, Ballut Abyad Shrine. He was Past Chatter Editor, for The Ballut Abyad Shrine Center, Past Chief Engineer of Loco Patrol, a member Basga, Director's Staff, and Nomads, Demolay, and Albuquerque Court #24, Royal Order of Jesters. Steve's passions were R. V. Travel with his wife, Sheila, his pug dogs, Yoda and Xena and playing golf. His Memorial Service will be held at the Ballut Abyad Shrine Center, 6600 Zuni, SE on June 22, 2002, at 3:00 p.m., a with reception immediately afterward in the Fez Club. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Ballut Abyad Shrine Center for the Children's Transportation Fund or the Building Fund.

Eric L. Robinson, born on May 22, 1948 in Detroit, MI to Daniel Robinson and Betty Wilson. He leaves to celebrate his Christian life, his loving wife, Alona M. Robinson; father, Daniel Robinson; mother, Betty Wilson; brothers, Bernard, Ramone, Robert, Gregory, Christopher; sisters, Gail and Pamela all of Detroit, MI; along with many other relatives and friends. He was always a very strong positive person with a very kind heart for everyone. Eric fought a good fight. Michael A.Salazar Jr. died Wednesday June 19, 2002 in Albuquerque at the age of 24. He is survived by his mother, Cathy Martinez and husband, John; father, Mike Salazar Sr. and wife, Yvonne; two sisters, April Martinez, Amanda Salazar; and also his grandparents, Rosemary and Louie Martinez, Nash Salazar. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday at Sacred Heart Church were Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at San Jose De Armijo Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Martinez, Carlos Baca, Phillip Apodaca, Tommy Baca, Paul Sanchez. Arrangements by Salazar & Sons Mortuary 400 Third ST. SW.

Harriett Reymore White born on December 12, 1916 passed away on June 17, 2002. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She graduated high school from Medville High in Medville, PA and attended Allegheny College for two years. She married Eugene E. Reymore in 1939. They moved from Pennsylvania to Albuqerque in 1952 with their three children. While raising her children, she was very active with the Albuquerque Garden Club, Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, and St. John's Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing golf and bowling and played bridge almost every week. Her first husband passed away in 1982 and in 1985, she married John B. White who also preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, David G. Reymore and his wife, Kim; her daughters, Ruth Harris and Kathy Reymore; grandchildren, William Reymore, Ashley Cloud and husband, Jimmy, Kevin Doherty and wife, Debbie, Meghan Armenta and husband, Greg, Brendan Doherty and wife, Gaylen Parsons, Dr. Erin Doherty and husband, Dr. Mike Howard, Allison Von Dreele and Wendy Adrian, and Shawn Von Dreele and husband, Toby; great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Jesse Cloud, Caitlyn Turner and Patrick Armenta, and Cuchuliann Howard. A Private Celebration of Life will be held at the family's residence. Donations may be made to St. John's Methodist Church, 2626 Arizona St. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. Barbara A. Wille died June 8, 2002 in Alamogordo, NM at the age of 100. She was born in Chicago of German immigrants and was one of 12 children, six of whom survived to adulthood. As a young woman, she worked as a milliner and was married in St. Paul's Catholic Church in Chicago to Edward Wille in 1924. Barbara and her husband moved to Albuquerque in 1964 and were members of Annunication Catholic Church until his death in 1976 and her move to Alamogordo in 1996. She is survived by two daughters, Kay Wille of White Rock, NM and Dorothy Smith and husband, Richard N. of Alamogordo, NM; three grandchildren, Karen Yates of Los angles, Arthur Alan Yates of Alamogordo, Douglas and Rose Yates of Houston, TX; and three great-grandsons, Westley, Clinton, and Dustin Yates. Cremation has taken place and no Services are planned at this time.

RAYMON DURAN, 76, of Fairfield, Calif., and former 42 year resident of San Pablo, Calif., died June 11, 2002, at the Kaiser Hospital in Vallejo, Calif., following a short illness. He was born Oct. 8, 1925, in El Porvenir to the late Luis G. Duran and Eloisa Crespin Duran. He retired in 1989 from the C&H Sugar Co. where he was employed as a security and truck driver for 28 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luis G. and Eloisa Duran; wife, Josie Duran on March 25, 2002; son, Michael Duran in 1991; sister, Maxine Gonzales; and brother, Gilbert Duran. He is survived by daughter, Mary Ann Duran of Fairfield, Calif.; son, Jimmy L. Duran and wife Mary of Fontana, Calif.; step-son, Larry Long and wife Debbie of El Sobrante, Calif.; sisters, Cristina Duran of Socorro, and Rojelia Carrillo of Alameda; brothers, Austin Duran, Mike Duran and Frank Duran all of Albuquerque; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Rosary devotional services will be at 7 p.m. today at the Rogers Chapel. Funeral services will be at noon Saturday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. PRECIDES M. GALLEGOS, 73, of Taos died Wednesday. She was preceded in death by her son, 'Mickey' Michael Philip Romero; brothers, Preciliano, Eduardo, and Fares Barela; and sister, Celia Sanchez. She is survived by her children, Billy Vigil and wife, Aggie of Espaņola, Gerald Gallegos, Wanda Romero and husband, Nick, all of Taos, Johnny Gallegos and husband, Stella, of Arroyo Seco, Albert Gallegos and wife, Natividad, of Taos, Laura Gallegos of Chamisal, and Roger Gallegos and wife, Annette, of Taos; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. ALFREDO ROMERO, 78, of Tesuque died Wednesday following a lengthy illness. He retired from the New Mexico School for the Deaf. He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Isabel Romero; brother, Vicente Romero; and sister-in-law, Maria Romero. He is survived by his brother, Trinidad Romero of Tesuque; nieces and nephews, Virginia Romero and husband George, Tillie Lujan and husband John, Cordy Medina, Feliciana (Chana) Gallegos and husband Orlando, Fidel Romero and wife Carmen all of Tesuque, Dolores Cunha of Chelmsford, Mass., Ramona Kepler and husband Ken, Connie Jaramillo and husband Joe, Felix Romero and wife Mary, Bernadette Romero Schmitt and Dina Romero all of Santa Fe, and Vicente Romero, Jr. and wife Minerva of Las Cruces; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. and a rosary will recited at 7 p.m. today at the San Isidro Church in Tesuque. Frances Irene Agnes, 70, a resident of Albuquerque for 61 years, passed away June 19, 2003. She is survived by her children, Cheryl Russey and husband, Joe of Albuquerque, Eugene G. Agnes II and wife, Mary of Mesa, AZ and Jayne Agnes of Albuquerque; six grandchildren, Kammara Russey, Francesca Agnes, Alexandra Agnes, Kaylah Russey and Maryssa Agnes; her mother, Beulah Greer; seven sisters; three brothers; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Monday, June 23, 2003, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Hillcrest Funeral Home. Juanita S. Chavez, age 102, a lifelong resident of New Mexico died June 19, 2003. Survivors include her daughters, Josephine Chavez of Carrizozo, Teresa Chavez of Albuquerque, Agnes Dotson and husband, Keith of Corrales; sons, Mariano S. Chavez and wife, Lucy of Santa Fe, Godfrey S. Chavez of Tularosa, Richard S. Chavez and wife Charlotte of Chula Vista, CA, Frank S. Chavez and wife, Lorrane of Albuquerque, Conrad S. Chavez and wife, Sue of Checotha, OK; daughter-in-law, Mary Chavez of Carrizozo; 29 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Federico in 1969 and her son, Fred in 1972. Juanita was the Democratic Precinct Chairperson in Lincoln County for many years. Madeline Brito-Diaz, 84, a lifetime resident of the Estancia Valley, passed away Wednesday June 18, 2003 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born April 18, 1919 in Estancia, NM to Eugenio M. & Josefita (Serna) Brito. She is survived by one daughter, Sylviana d'Ouville of Albuquerque, NM; and grandsons Carlos A. d'Ouville, and Xavier d'Ouville; granddaughter-in-law, Xochitl C. d'Ouville; three brothers Arturo and wife, Mary Lou Brito, Benny and wife, Lourdes Brito, and Efren and wife, Margaret Brito; sister-in-law, Ruth Brito; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Maria Brito. Madeline was the Torrance County Mental Health Director; a member of St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Friendship Force, Partners of the Americans, Cultural Arts Society. She was a Gracious hostess, and she was an avid lover of dance and music. Madeline and her sister Maria, were both world travelers. Madeline will lie in state Sunday June 22, 2003-10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Moriarty. A Rosary will be recited Sunday June 22, 2003-2:00 PM at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Estancia, NM. George Gerard, 79, died on Sunday night, the 8th of June. He was born in 1924 in Brooklyn, New York. During the Second World War he served in the U.S. infantry in Europe and was wounded in the Battle of Normandy. He was a graduate of Ohio State University and spent the first years after the war in radio and television. In the early fifties he and his wife Rhianwen settled in Albuquerque, where he later became a schoolteacher. He worked for A.P.S. until his retirement in 1986. George was a long-time member of the Welsh Society of New Mexico and had a deep and abiding love of Wales, his wife s native land. He loved the sea and ships, the company of friends, good music, good conversation and animals, especially cats. He is survived by Rhianwen, his wife of 55 years; daughter Valerie Gerard Dillon, her husband Stephen Dillon; granddaughter Cariad; sons Robert Gerard and his wife Sharon of Chaparral, New Mexico and Morgan Gerard of Albuquerque. A family memorial service will be held on Friday, June 20th at the National Veterans Cemetery in Santa Fe where the ashes will be interred. A general memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 21st. at the French Mortuary Chapel, 1111 University Blvd., NE, Albuquerque. Zelma Hamrah, 93, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on June 17, 2003. Vivian Hardin, 70, a resident of Albuquerque since 1960, died Wednesday, June 18, 2003. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, James Hardin of Albuquerque; sons, Tony Hardin of Seattle, WA, Terry Hardin and wife, Melissa of Albuquerque; grandson, Trevor Hardin; brother, Neil Schudy and wife, Gail of Norwood, MO; sisters, Ilene Halford and Ruth Edwards and husband, Iby, all of Mountain Grove, MO; and many nieces, nephews, and loving friends. LeAnne Hodgin-Davis, 58, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, June 14, 2003. She is survived by her mother, Monte Lee Davis-McMullen; sons, Charles Arthur Johnson and Larry LaMont Hodgin and wife Anita Elizabeth Hodgin, II; daughter, Nancy Lee Johnson, all of Albuquerque; and fiance, Gregory Joseph Tabet of Los Angeles, CA; and grandchildren Danella Dominique Hodgin, Lisa Bernadette Griego, and Naomi Jenifer Martinez. Mrs. Hodgin-Davis was born in Albuquerque. She was a teacher for 26 1/ 2 years. Mrs. Hodgin received a national award for instituting the Character Counts Program. She was an active member of Faith Lutheran Chuch and the American Association of University Women. A tree planting memorial service will be held Thursday, 9:30 a.m., at Faith Lutheran Church, 10000 Spain Rd. NE, with Pastor Bruce Wilder officiating.The family would like to thank everyone for their support and prayers during her brief hospital stay. Bryan "BJ" Johnson, 25, a resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, June 13, 2003, after bravely battling Hodgkins Lymphoma for four years. He is survived by his wife, Tonia Johnson; son, Tyler Joseph Fortenbury; parents, David and Patricia Johnson of Albuquerque, NM; brother, Ken Martinez and wife, Jesse; sister, Amy Johnson and fiance Arthur Puccini; grandparents, Tillie Martinez of Albuquerque, NM, and Norman Johnson of River Falls, Wisconsin; best friend, John Collins of Albuquerque, NM; and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
