CONRAD 'C.J.' CORIZ, 69, of Chimayo died Friday. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a Purple Heart recipient. He was preceded in death by his son, Larry Coriz; step-son, Paul Ruiz; adoptive parents, Epimenio and Tonita Coriz; and father, Eloy Rodriguez Sr. He is survived by his wife, Josephine Coriz of Chimayo; sons, James Coriz of Chimayo, Leonard Coriz and wife, Geraldine, of El Guache, Mark Coriz of Chimayo, and Matthew Coriz and wife, Sandy, of Alcalde; brothers and sisters, Eloy Rodriguez Jr. of Santa Fe, Jimmy Rodriguez of Santa Fe, Ernesto Rodriguez of Pecos, Ariel, Ralph and Richard Paul and Chris Rodriguez of Santa Fe, Marie Armijo of Glorieta, Christine Armijo of La Pasada, Sylvia Orosco of Santa Fe, Emilia Rodriguez of Santa Fe, Frances Montoya of Santa Fe, Helen Roybal of Santa Fe, Sylvia Evans of Las Cruces; raised as a brother with Raymond Martinez of Chimayo and Pauline Lopez of Santa Cruz; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. BETTY JANE DICKERSON, 79, of Santa Fe died Friday. She was born May 11, 1923, in Faugache, Colo. She graduated from Albuquerque High School and attended the University of New Mexico, where she was Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority member. She served in the WAVES during World World II. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alva Simpson Jr.; brother, Alva Jr.; and sisters, Barbara Simpson and Dorothy Howard. She is survived by sisters, Mary Ruth Mayfield and Marjorie Dobyns; a niece and six nephews. The family wishes to thank Santa Fe Care Center, Hospice and Holy Faith Church. She will be buried 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Albuquerque. Santa Fe Funeral Options.

EULALIA T. 'LALA' GARCIA , 75, of Abiquiu died Sunday. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Belen Trujillo; her husband, Jake Garcia; and a sister, Rosie McCall. She is survived by a daughter, Charlotte Gatt and husband, Richard, of Tierra Azul; daughter, Cecilia Garcia of Abiquiu; sisters, Josie Valdez and husband, Eliseo, of San Pedro, Frances Martinez and husband, Octaviano, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Louise Evans and husband, Jim, of Abiquiu; brothers, Floyd Trujillo and wife, Virginia, of Abiquiu and Jimmy Trujillo and wife, Debbie, of Albuquerque; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at Block-Salazar Mortuary. Visitation continues at 5:00 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary at the Saint Thomas Church, Abiquiu. GLENN CHARLES HAGUE, 68, of Taos died Friday. He is survived by his daughter, Karyn Martinez and husband, Lloyd; and three grandchildren, all of Rio Rancho. Rivera-Hanlon Funeral Home.

NORMAN LOVATO, 68, of Caņones died Monday following a short illness. He was an armed forces veteran who served in Germany during the Korean War. He also worked for the U.S. Forest Service. He was a lumberjack and the owner of La Tiendita de Caņones. He is preceded in death by his wife, Manuelita; daughter, Norma Garcia; father and mother, Juan Rafael and Maria de la Luz Lovato; brothers, Isaac and Medardo Lovato; and a sister, Angelica Aragon. He is survived by his daughters, Lydia Madrid and husband Clifford of Las Cruces; and Lucina 'Lucy' Salazar and husband, David, of Alcalde; son, Rick Lovato and wife, Thelma, of Caņones; son-in-law, Alfred Garcia of El Llano; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Fred Lovato, Emilia Martinez, Eva Vasquez, Simodosea Lovato, Patrociņa Serrano and Margarita Lovato; and numerous relatives and friends. Visitation is 6 p.m. today at the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home, with a 7 p.m. Wednesday devotional service in the chapel. MELECIO G. MARTINEZ, 82, of Peņasco died Friday following a brief illness. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the European Theater in World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan B. and Rafelita G. Martinez; brother, Labrencio Martinez; and sister, Adonilia M. Gonzales. He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Lupita Muniz of Albuquerque, Urcinia Lujan of Antonito, Colo., Lydia Paiz and husband, Joe, of Albuquerque, Rutillo A. Martinez and wife, Stella, of Peņasco, and Frank Martinez of Taos; and many other relatives and friends. G. WINSTON STURGEN, 63, of Taos died Thursday. He was talented in many fields, however he best expressed his ambition and creativity through his artistry. He is preceded in death by sister, Gayle Floor. EVANGELINE L. TAFOYA, 64, of Espaņola died Thursday following a sudden illness. She was a member of El Buen Pastor Church and a former Sunday School teacher. She worked in personal care for the elderly. She is preceded in death by her parents, Benito and Julianita Lucero; sister, Evinia Lucero; and two dear nephews, Ricky Lucero and Patrick Lopez. She is survived by brothers and sisters, Frank Lucero and wife, Juanita, and Willie Lucero and wiife, Priscilla, both of Durango, Colo., Rose Cordova and husband, Ernesto, of Alcalde, Rita Thom and husband, Barton, of Abiquiu and Cathy Tafoya and husband, Robert, of Alcalde; godson and nephew, Benito Cordova of Espaņola; and numerous other relatives and friends. LORENE NELSON TERRY, 72, of Sunshine Valley died Friday. She is survived by her son, Billy Terry of Sunshine Valley. Services will be held in Fayette, Ala. Rivera-Hanlon Funeral Home.

John M. Bolger, a resident of Albuquerque, NM, and formerly of Chelmsford, MA died Wednesday, June 11, 2003 in New Mexico at the age of 44. Born August 31, 1958, he was a son of John C. Bolger of Chelmsford, MA and the late Alma B. (Brown) Bolger. He graduated from Chelmsford High School in 1977. Mr. Bolger was a self-employed General Contractor in Albuquerque, NM, and was active in the Project Share Program. Besides his father, he is survived by one daughter, Candiace Marie Bolger of Seattle, WA; three sisters, Katherine K. Bolger of Old Greenwich, CT, Mary N. Bolger of Lowell, MA, and Rebecca B. Small of Chelmsford, MA. He was the brother of the late Ann Marie Bolger. Funeral Services are private. Julia G. Bracken, 79, a resident of Albuquerque since 1936, died Monday, June 16, 2003. She is survived by her husband, Walter G. Bracken, Sr.; daughter, Georgia Davis and husband, Mel; sons, Daniel L. Bracken and wife, Imelda, Walter G. Bracken, Jr. and John W. Bracken. and wife, Sharon, all of Albuquerque; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Millard Stump and wife, Emily, Chester Stump and wife, Thelma, James Stump and Carley Stump; sisters, Dorothy Perry and husband, Pat and Esther Armijo, all of Albuquerque; and numerous nieces and nephews. Rosemary V. Brown (Vaden) died peacefully at Kaseman Hospice on Tuesday, June 10, 2003. She was born in Mesilla Park, NM, June 27, 1920. She is survived by her sister, Jean Pierce of Albuquerque; son, Dave and daughter-in-law, Donna of Albuquerque; step-daughter, Alice Ann Ferriola and son-in-law, Rick Ferriola of Ft. Myers, FL; sister-in-law, Sister Mary Josetta of Rogers, AR; grandchildren, Ben and Celia Brown, Robin Wagner, Rick, Tina and Nichole Feriola; great-granddaughter, Amanda; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Bernard F. Brown in 2002; parents, Clay and Mary Vaden; brother, Samuel Vaden who was killed in World war II; and sister, Mina Walsh. Rosemary graduated from the Loretto Academy in Santa Fe in 1938 and loved to tell stories of running up and down the now famous Loretto Chapel's "Miracle Staircase" for choir. She also attended New Mexico State Teachers College (Western New Mexico University) in Silver City. She served as Bill Clerk of the New Mexico State Senate in 1939. From 1940 to 1945, she worked at the New Mexico Bureau of Revenue. During World War II, Rosemary was a volunteer with the Civil Air Patrol and received an honorary appointment from New Mexico Governor John E. Miles as a Colonel, Aide-de Camp to the Governor's Staff. She met Bernard while he was serving with the Medical Detachment of the 1886th Service Command Unit at Bruns General Hospital in Santa Fe during the War. They were married in St. Francis Cathedral in Santa Fe in 1944. Later, the couple moved to Illinois where his family was located and lived in Springfield where Bernard returned to work as a Pharmacist. Rosemary worked for many years as a bookkeeper with the Rickbial Accounting Firm and then as the head bookkeeper for the B & F Toggery Mens' Stores in Springfield. She was also a volunteer at the St. Agnes Grade School in Springfield where Dave went to school. After retirement in 1980, Bernard and Rosemary returned to New Mexico and lived in Albuquerque where she was involved in the "Golden Agers" and was an avid card player with her friends. Cremation has taken place. A Remembrance reception will be held Thursday, June 19, 2003, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. A Mass will be held on Friday, June 20, 2003, 9:00 a.m., at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Rd. NE. Interment will take place at 1:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. The family would like to thank Rosemary's longtime caregiver, Annie Kennelly for all her help and kindness through the years. Joe M. "Little Joe" Chavez, 42, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, June 16, 2003. Linda Hibbs Ebbesson. Wednesday, June Family Memorial Services will be held for Linda Hibbs Ebbesson at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 19, 2003, at Sacred Heart Church in Shreveport, La. Mrs. Ebbesson, 52, a resident of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, died on June 15, 2003, in Shreveport, La. She was born on October 19, 1950, in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, and was a longtime resident of New Orleans. Linda was a 1968 graduate of Mercy Academy High School in New Orleans and attended Newcomb College, New Orleans. Linda is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Bernt Ebbesson. Other survivors include her daughters, Ruth Beeler and husband, Alex of Williamsburg, Va., Karin Ebbesson of Ogden, Utah, and Heidi Ebbesson of Trenton, N.J.; her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Richard G. Hibbs of Shreveport; one brother, U. S. Navy Capt. Richard Hibbs, Jr. and wife, Susan of New Orleans; one sister, Mary Jo and husband, Harlan Kirgan of Grand Coteau, La. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Reynaldo (Rey) Griego, 62 years, left to go home to the loving arms of our Lord, Jesus Christ, Monday, June 16, 2003. Rey fought long and hard to recover from a brief illness. Rey was born and raised in La Joya, New Mexico, where he graduated high school in 1958. He retired from Sandia National Laboratories in October 2002 after 28 years of service. Rey and his music will be missed by all. Rey is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Barbara; his children, Roberta Garcia and her husband, Randy, Patrick Griego and his wife, Denise; Jessica and her husband, Mario Mauricio; and Rey Mora; and his mother-in-law, Susie Gow. Rey loved and enjoyed his grandchildren very much Cecily, Gilbert, Jared, Joshua, and Brandon. Rey was the son of the late Baltazar and Bennie Griego and was raised with two brothers and eight sisters. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Aurora (Lola) Griego, Bonifacio Griego, Lucy and her husband, Rudy Cordova, Jose Alferes Griego, Maria (Tommie) Helms, and Beatrice and her husband, Bennie Lopez. Pluma C. Griffin, passed away on June 14, 2003. A long time resident of Albuquerque. She is survived by her son, Bob Griffin and wife, Yvonne; granddaughter, Annelle Griffin; two grandsons, Eric Griffin and Stewart Griffin; five great-grandchildren, Ben Griffin, Jake Griffin, Evan Griffin, Kayla Griffin and Kyle Griffin. Robert E. Kirkpatrick, 79, of Las Cruces died Monday, June 16 at Memorial Medical Center. His father, George; mother, Bernice; and son, Robert Steven Kirkpatrick, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Alice Ann Schneider; daughter, Eileen and husband, Wayne Gilbert of Las Cruces; son, Mark of Las Cruces; sister, Ethel and her husband, Jim Reese of Ocala, FL; brother, George and his wife, Jo of Palm Desert, CA.; sister, Margie and her husband, John Wullschleger of Evans, CO.; brother, Richard and his wife, Mary of Pismo, Beach, CA.; sister, Mary Ann and her husband, Kenny Howell of Denver, CO; brother, Harvey and his wife, Karen of Broomfield Co.; daughter-in-law, Virginia Killin of Gilbert, AZ; and grandsons, Dan of Las Cruces and Jimmy of Santa Fe. Kirkpatrick was born in Kansas City, MO, April 8, 1924 and grew up in Englewood, Colorado where he graduated from high school. He served for two years in World War II in the South Pacific with the U.S. Marine Corps and was part of the first occupational force in Japan. Kirkpatrick earned his accounting degree from the University of Denver in 1951 and his CPA certificate in 1960. He was a senior accountant with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. in Santa Fe for six years and later was employed by two other Santa Fe accounting firms. In 1965 the Governor appointed him Chief of Financial Control Division and Deputy Director of the Department of Finance and Administration. Gov. Bruce King appointed him the Director of the New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration in 1970, a position he held four years until he was named Vice President for Business Affairs at New Mexico State University. With his contacts and experience in state government Kirkpatrick was also the chief contact between the university and the state legislature. Most recently he was honored by the New Mexico Society of Certified Public Accountants when he received the Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of outstanding achievement and devotion to the CPA profession. In 1974, he was the recipient of the New Mexico Distinguished Public Service Award and the 1986 received the NMSU President's Award for Service. Kirkpatrick's affiliations included the American Institute of CPAs, the N.M. Society of CPAs and the Montezuma Lodge No.1, A.F.& A.M. in Santa Fe. For many years he served as the finance officer at University Methodist Church in Las Cruces. He was an avid fan of Aggie football and basketball. In high school he was a caddie at Cherry Hills Country Club in Denver and continued his interest in golf joining a select group of retirees at the NMSU course. Military Honors will be held at 9 a.m. Friday June 20, 2003 at Veterans Park. A private family internment will follow Friday at the Fort Bayard National Cemetery. A Memorial Service has been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2003 at the University Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Seelau officiating. A reception will follow at the Church. Isaac Lopez, 59, was welcomed into the hands of our Lord and Savior Monday, June 16, 2003. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aristeo and Desideria Lopez; brother, Andres Lopez. He is survived by his beloved wife of 22 years, Kathy Lopez; four sons, Isaac Randy Lopez and wife, Deidra, Christopher Lopez and girlfriend, Micayla Salazar, Paul Perea and wife, Stephanie, Kevin Perea; daughter, Melanie Lopez and boyfriend, Jose Garcia; four granddaughters, Mercedes, Santana and Brianna Lopez, Elisha Carrillo; four grandsons, Christopher Lee Lopez Jr., Kevin Ray, Joshua and Julian Perea; brothers, Aristeo Lopez Jr. and wife, Mary, James Lopez and wife, Angie; sisters, Jackie Zamora, Jennie Rivera and husband, Sam, Frances Lopez, Mary Jaramillo and husband, Phil, Edwina Tabares; Godson, Melvin Rivera; many nieces and nephews. Isaac retired from the city of Albuquerque Sun Tran after 20 years of service, he was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving the Marine Corps from 1966 - 1968. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:00 a.m., Friday, June 20, 2003 at the Church of Ascension with Fr. Edmund Savilla celebrant. Interment will follow in Santa Fe National Cemetery and serving as Pall Bearers will be Herman Zamora, J.C. Lopez, Sammy Rivera, Phillip Jaramillo, Paul Lopez, Willie Lopez, James Lopez, Jr. and Melvin Rivera. Honorary Pall Bearers will be William Tabares, Michael Dean Rivera and Billy Jaramillo. Magdalene M. (Maggie) Losinski, 71, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister was welcomed into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, June 14, 2003. Maggie was born on July 22, 1931 in Vida, "Riverside Community", MT to Joseph and Anna Bailly. She moved to Albuquerque in 1961 with her husband and family. Maggie was known for her caring and giving nature. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, working craft projects, gardening, and watching colorful hummingbirds flit about her homemade feeders. She compassionately gave of her time and volunteered over 3000 hours at Anna Kaseman Hospital. She always had a smile for those she met and was never too busy to play a game with her grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered by young and old as the "Grandma with the homemade cookies" or the "Grandma with the strawberries ". She also was known for having a "home remedy" for almost everything imaginable. She was preceded in death by her brother, Julian Bailly. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Joseph B. Losinski; her sons, Sylvester; Paul and wife, Stacy; Armand and wife, Pam; and Eddy and wife, Jane; her daughter, Anita Romero and husband, Pat; her brothers, Albert and wife Barbara; George and wife, Helen; Leon and wife, Irene; and Ernest and wife, Mary; her sisters, Agnes Brown and husband, Herb; and Marguerite Lemieux; nine grandchildren, hannon, Ian, Kayla, Weston, Kenton, Marcus and Sheila Losinski; and Amanda and Waylon Raether. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. A rosary will be recited at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Thursday, June 19, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 20 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 1818 Coal Ave. SE, with Father Robert Chabot, Celebrant. Interment will take place at 1:30 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. Memorial gifts may be made to the charity of your choice. Services are entrusted to:

Eloy Maestas, A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church in Cuba, NM. Funeral Services for Mr. Maestas will be held on Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cuba, NM where the Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Santo Nino Cemetery in La Jara, NM. Sgt. Major John Palmer Mitchell, U.S. Army (Ret.), 81, a resident of Albuquerque; died Monday, June 16, 2003. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Phyllis Mitchell of Albuquerque; sons, John P. Mitchell, Jr. of Miami, FL; daughters, Joann Obara and husband, Bernie of Taos and Anita Mitchell and companion, George Vallejos of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Zack Taylor Wright and wife, Barbara; great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Ortiz, Kailey Wright and Shila Wright; brother, George Smith and wife, Lorraine; and sisters, Helen Eby and husband, Ed, Dolly Aliminda and husband, Karl and Betty Rowe. Mr. Mitchell was in the Merchant Marines for one year in 1943 and went around the world. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, and retired in 1962 as Sergeant Major. He attended and ushered at the Redstone Arsenal Chapel in Alabama. Services will be held Thursday, 12:00 noon, at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Friends may visit French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, Wednesday, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
