FELIPE VIGIL, 83, of Wagon Mound died Friday.
He worked for the village of Wagon Mound as water superintendent for many years.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Fabiola Vigil Mares and husband Beatrice Mares; son, Edwin Vigil; daughters, Charlotte Gallegos and husband Raymond of Albuquerque, Betty Balderas of Wagon Mound, Laura Vigil and husband Barney of Ojo Feliz, and Phyllis Lopez and husband Savino of Albuquerque; sister, Nancy Laurel and husband Joe; brothers, Gilbert Vigil and wife Mary, Tom Vigil and wife Eloisa and John Vigil and wife Rosa; nine grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday at Santa Clara Church in Wagon Mound. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the same church with burial to follow at The Santa Clara Cemetery in Wagon Mound.

ROSE O. LUCERO BARELA, 89, of La Mesilla died Friday. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Daniel and Porfiria Ortiz; husband of 18 years, Willie Barela; first husband, Pedro N. Lucero; brothers, J.D. Ortiz and Jose Ramon Ortiz; sisters, Rufina and husband Mike Martinez, Antonia and husband Ralph Esquibel and Genevieve and husband Mike Delgado; son-in-law, Rudy Romero. She is survived by two brothers and a sister, Sabino Ortiz, Celso Ortiz and wife Tommie all of Fairview and Gertrude Mora and husband David of California; sister-in-law, Lina Ortiz; daughters, Beatrice Romero of Santa Fe, Mary Rose Martinez and husband Benjie of Albuquerque; Theodora Valdez and husband Tim Valdez of La Mesilla, Erlinda Quintana and husband Manuel of Cuarteles and Suzan Roybal and husband Frank of La Mesilla; son, Jake Lucero and wife Dolly of Fairview; step-children, Susie and Ferbie Coriz, Tony and Dotsie Barela, Charlotte and John Garcia; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; seven step grandchildren and one step great-grandchild; and many other relatives and friends.
Mass will be celebrated 1 p.m. today at La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Canada. Interment will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery.

JAMES C. KENNEDY II, 85, of Los Alamos died Friday at the Los Alamos Medical Center surrounded by his family of eight children and a number of his grandchildren. He died with dignity and in peace.
Born in 1918 in White Plains, N.Y., he served in World War II in the European theater of operations. He participated in the D-Day invasion at Utah Beach and in the Battle of the Bulge as an enlisted man serving at VII Corps artillery command level, as well as being among the first troops to reach Paris on V-day.
He came to Los Alamos in 1948 and married Paulita in 1949. He was employed by the Los Alamos Fire Department from 1950 until his retirement in 1980.
He was a devoted father and family man and a devout Catholic. He was an avid reader, loved the mountains surrounding Los Alamos and was a proud Irish Democrat.
He was a naturally gifted athlete who loved and excelled at many sports among which were swimming, tennis, ice-hockey, football and skiing. In his youth, he won amateur boxing titles and football scholarships.
He was president of his high school class for three consecutive years. He sang on the local radio and earned the nickname of "Bing", a fond reference to Bing Crosby.
He is survived by his wife, Paulita; their children and spouses, Patrick and Chris, Brian and Loraine, Ann, James, Polly and Eric Loucks, Kevin, Maureen and Chris Holland, Kerry and Dirk Cussler, and nine grandchildren.
Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Los Alamos. Interment will follow at Guaje Pines Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Los Alamos.

STEPHEN D. NARANJO, 40, of La Mesilla died Saturday following an accident. Stephen was a very loving son, brother and uncle. He loved fishing, hunting and enjoyed basketball and sports. He attended the University of New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Onofre Gallegos; paternal grandparents, Nicolas and Syria Naranjo; uncle, Mark Gallegos; cousin, Doug Davis and an aunt, Pat Davis. He is survived by his parents, Nick and Lena Naranjo of La Mesilla; sisters, Natalie Rodriguez and husband William and Nicole Martinez and husband Carlos all of Albuquerque; maternal grandmother, Margaret Gallegos; nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Visitation beginS 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Sange de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home with a 7 p.m. rosary. Mass will be celebrated 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Cremation to follow after the services.

PAULINE VICTORIA QUINTANA, 90, of Santa Fe died Sunday surrounded by her loving family.
She was born June 16, 1913, in Taos to Hipolito and Ciria Montoya.
She was a graduate of Santa Fe High School.
She and Jacobo Quintana were married Jan. 6, 1936, in Taos.
Pauline worked at the United Presbyterian Church Plaza del Monte Retirement community for 20 years.
She was member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, and was a Heart Association volunteer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacobo Quintana; parents, Hipolito and Ciria Montoya; brothers, Tito, Hipolito, and Patricio Montoya; and sister, Quirina Des Georges.
She is survived by her sons, Robert J., Louie and wife Irene, Larry and wife Elizabeth, all of Santa Fe, and Richard of Rio Rancho; daughters, JoAnn Q. and husband Arthur H. Gonzales of Germantown, Tenn., and Margo Q. and husband John Camponovo of Cabot, Ark.,; sisters, Annie Santisteven, Rummie Soloman and Viola Ortiz; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
A rosary will be recited 7 p.m. Wednesday at Berardinelli Family Chapel.
Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

JOSE GILBERT VIGIL, 74, of Rodarte died Sunday.
He was born June 26, 1929, the son of Lorenzo and Senaida Vigil of Nambé.
He was a 1948 graduate of St. Michael's High School and a retired Los Alamos fireman.
He is survived by his wife, Rose; daughters, Pamela Vigil-Wong and husband Corey Wong of Delta, Colo., Yolanda Vigil and husband James Trujillo of Tesuque and Sylvia Vigil of Tesuque; brothers, Longino Vigil, Benito Vigil and Lorenzo Vigil Jr.; sister, Lita Ortiz y Davis; four granddaughters. A rosary will be recited 6:30 p.m. today at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Peñasco.
Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Peñasco with interment to follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in his memory to St. Michael's High School in Santa Fe.

MARGARET IRENE CASADOS, 75, of Santa Fe died on Saturday.
She worked as a teacher's aide for the Santa Fe Public Schools District, until her retirement.
She was a member of Cristo Rey Catholic Church and loved to paint and spend time with her friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Casados; parents, Charles and Beulah Narramore; brother, Charles Narramore; sisters, Anna Marie Weiss and Jimmie Osbourn.
She is survived by her children, Margie Trujillo and husband Manuel, Patrick Casados and wife Irma, Debra Meyer and Ellen Casados; sister, Flora Hadley; two grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Memorial contributions may be donated to Bienvenidos Outreach, 1219 Luisa St., Suite 1, Santa Fe, NM.
