Allan M. Towle, LTC (Army Ret.) 69, passed away Friday, May 25, 2001. Owner of VCR Xperts for ten years. He is survived by children, Stephen Towle, Kenneth Towle, Rick Breden, Janice England, Jennifer Robb; brother, Dr. Edward Towle; 11 grandchildren; also survived by Brenda Towle, Elsie Jordan and loyal dog, Gucci. He is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Caitlin Robb and beloved dog, Lucky. Memorial Services will be held Friday, June 8, 1:00 p.m., Santa Fe National Cemetery. Marjorie May Bartmess, was born in Dana, IL on May 10, 1918, died Thursday, May 23, 2002 in Albuquerque, NM. She is survived by her husband, Doyne Bartmess; family, Rebecca Roush, Nancy Williamson, Eugene Bartmess; and sisters, Ella Wood of Bloomington, IL She was preceded in death by her sister, Lola Bane. Mrs. Bartmess earned her B. ED. At Illinois State Normal University in 1940. She married Doyne Bartmess December 26, 1941. Mrs. Bartmess resided in Normal, IL from 1936 to 1961. She was a teacher at Little Corral Kindergarten for many years. Mrs. Bartmess was a member of Trinity Methodist Church. Friends are invited to celebrate her life at the family home on Saturday, June 15, 2002, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Delta Hospice, 3500 Comanche NE, 87107.

Josephine C. Bohannon, 96, went home to her Lord May 31, 2002. A lifelong resident of Albuquerque, she was born January 11, 1906. She was a member of the American Iris Society and served as an Iris Judge for many years. Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Richard in 1970. She is survived by her son, Richard Bohannon and wife, Clyda; daughter, Barbara Skinner; grandchildren, Jerriann and Randy Skinner, Mike Bohannon and wife, Amy, Karen Sarkis and husband, Mike; and five great-grandchildren. A celebration of her life will take place Saturday, June 8, 2002 at 10:00 a.m., in the Chapel of Central United Methodist Church, 1605 Copper NE. Marion E. Erickson, 98, died on June 3, 2002, at Lovelace Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born on February 5, 1904, in Moline, IL to Alfred and Charlotte Wretman. She spent her childhood on a farm near Dayton, IA and later returned to Moline where she graduated from Moline High School in 1923. She married John Ephraim Erickson in 1928 and they lived in Marshalltown, IA where Mr. Erickson was the financial director for Lennox Industries. After 40 years, and upon his retirement, they moved back to Moline. After Mr. Erickson's death in 1971, Marion lived in Friendship Manor, a retirement village, in rock Island, IL. In 1988, she moved to Albuquerque to be closer to her family, and lived for 14 years at LaVida Llena Retirement Center. She is survived by her two daughters, Joann Meek of Dallas, TX, and Shirley Kendall and husband, David of Albuquerque; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; as well as many friends and loving caregivers at LaVida Llena. Memorial Services will be held Monday, June 10, 2002, 2:00 p.m., at LaVida Llena Retirement Center, 10501 Lagrima de Oro NE, with Chaplain Norton Scrimshire officiating. Ramona A. "Mona" Esquibe, 91, went to be with the Lord on June 5, 2002. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Gabriel Esquibel. She is survived by her only son, Oliver "Libby" Esquivel and wife, Alice Esquivel; as well as her grandchildren, Ray Esquivel and wife, Beth, Gina Richardson and husband, Scott, Jim Esquivel and wife, Dorothy; great-grandchildren, Andrew, James, Raymond, Ana Alicia, Elijah, Marc, Caleb, Angelina, Rebekkah, Jake and Ryan; sisters, Julia Martinez and husband, Bon, Isabel Wright (Colorado Springs), Dolores Lola Padilla; brothers, Jelacio Armijo and David Armijo and wife, Rachel. Ramona was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She was active in the Sacred Heart League and the Blue Army. She was welcomed into heaven by her sisters, Rosella Serna, Priscilla Zamora and Sally Gonzales. Visitations will be held on Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Eighth Street Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited Friday evening at Holy Family Catholic Church at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church at 8:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Abran J. Gallegos, age 70, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2002. He was born February 23, 1932 in Vaughn, New Mexico to the late Abran Jesus Gallegos and Beatrice Ruiz. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette A. Gallegos of Albuquerque; two daughters, Antonia R. Gallegos of Albuquerque, Alyssia A. Gallegos of Albuquerque; two sons, Robert E. Gallegos of Albuquerque, Abrahan J. Gallegos of Albuquerque; five sisters, Luz Arguello, Vaughn, NM, Dina McDaniel, Vaughn, NM, Jane Anaya, Vaughn, NM, Alice Chavez, Vaughn, NM, Stella Romero, Pastura, NM; one brother, Jose Maguin Gallegos of Tucson, AZ; two grandchildren, Kyra A. Velasquez and Gabriel Maldonado. He was a member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. A Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2002, 11:00 a.m. until time of Rosary. Ellis D. George, died of lung cancer at the age of 65, Tuesday, June 4, 2002. He is survived by his loving family, Kelly, Connie, Scott and Janelle (children); Minnie (mother); Sandra (sister), five grandchildren; and Sharon (significant other). He formerly served in the USAF, Hobbies included fishing, flying airplanes and cooking the best food in NM. "I am already there, take a look around, I am the sunshine in your hair... I am the whisper in the wind... I know I am in your prayers...I am the beat in your heart, the moonlight shining down... I will be with you wherever you are" May peace surround him and our world. Eldon J. Havey, age 86, and a resident of Albuquerque since 1957 died June 5, 2002. Survivors include wife, Ruth L. Havey of Albuquerque, NM; daughter, Mary Ann Pearson and husband, Ron of Albuquerque, NM; sisters, Kathryn J. Havey of Milwaukee, WI, Mary Frances Foy of Albuquerque, NM; stepdaughter, Roxanne Webber of Las Vegas, NV; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Eldon was preceded in death by daughter, Jane C. Havey in 1998. He was a member of Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church. George Aloysius Kehoe, 83, a resident of Albuquerque for nine years, passed away at Kindred Hospital, Albuquerque, on Monday, June 3, 2002. He was preceded in death in December by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy Sutherland Kehoe. George was born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada, the youngest child of Lawrence and Mary McDonald Kehoe. As a young man, he learned the printing business alongside his brother Tom. He also dabbled in theatre, acting and singing in several productions. During World War II, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and met and married Dorothy, an RCAF nurse, while stationed in Gander, Newfoundland in 1942. Following the war, they lived in Vancouver, British Columbia and then moved to California where he worked for the Los Angeles Times and the Fullerton News Tribune. He and a partner eventually opened a print shop in Anaheim, CA. When the hot lead method of typesetting was replaced by computer technology, George and his partner jumped right in, but in a few years decided to retire the business. George and Dorothy moved to Reedsport, OR to relax and fish, but spent much of their time traveling the country in their RV, moving finally to Albuquerque in 1993. George was a life member and longtime secretary of the Highlander Kiwanis Club in La Habra, CA. As secretary, he was an award-winning writer of the club bulletin. In his retirement, he continued to write under the pseudonym of Peter Aloysius MacEochdaigh, and his tongue-in-cheek wit will be missed by many. George is survived by his sister, Mary Judson of Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada; daughters, Leslee Schmitt of Driggs, ID and Johnee Simrell and husband, Richard of Albuquerque; son, Sean Kehoe and wife, Jennifer of Barrett, MN; grandsons, Barry Schmitt of Park City, UT, Carl Schmitt of Boulder, CO and Tyler Kehoe of Barrett, MN; granddaughters, Elizabeth Renee Cabot and husband, Michael, Katee Simrell, Colleen Davis and husband, Matthew, all of Albuquerque, and Alexandra Kehoe of Barrett, MN. Cremation has taken place. Rosary will be recited Friday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Deacon Frank See reciting. Romie V. Mackel, passed away on June 1, 2002 with her family members by her bedside. Romie was born in Park View, NM and raised and spent most of her life in Santa Fe, NM. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Paul A. Mackel and daughter, Marsha. She is survived by her sisters, Stella Wheeler, Bertha Lewellen and husband, Lew; her sister-in-law, Adelina Mackel; her daughters, Elizabeth Pontecorvo and husband, Joe, Kathy Sandoval, Paula Thomason and husband, George, Roberta Mackel and friend, John Cantrell, Mary Westfall and husband, Robert, Martha Andazola and husband, Ron; her seven grandchildren; and one great-grandson also survive her. Also, many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation for the staff at Pickard and Laurel View Nursing Home for the care they have shown throughout the years. Mass will be held on Friday, June 7, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis Cathedral. Interment will follow at Rosario Cemetery. James Warner Moss, 74, passed away suddenly on June 3, 2002 at his home in Ute Park, NM. He was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to Warner and Jewel Moss on October 22, 1925. He attended Pine Bluff Schools and after graduation was in the Army for four years. He moved to Los Alamos, NM where he worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Company until he retired. He spent the winter months in Lake Havasu, NV fishing and golfing. He is survived by his wife, Shirley of 47 and a half years, six sisters; Edith Williams of Albuquerque, NM, June Neal, Bonita Hankins, Sue Williams, Pat Mosley, Linda Wyles all of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and a large number of nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at the Methodist Church in Cimarron, NM on June 8, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Yakshich-Long Mortuary in Raton, NM.

Frances E. Murphy, 90, went to heaven on May 30, 2002. She was greeted in heaven by her husband, Dean Sr.; her granddaughter, Alissa Beth; and many friends and relatives who preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Diana (Louis) Enenstein, Hoff Est II. and their daughters, Jennifer, Kristen and Kira; her son, Dean Jr. (Carol) and their sons, David and Douglas. She was a longtime member of St. Bernadette's Church. She was in Chicago at the time of her death and a celebration of her life and Mass of Christian Burial will take place this weekend at St., Hubert, Hoff Est Ill. The Albuquerque Memorial Service is scheduled on Tuesday, June 18, 2002, 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernadette. Luncheon to follow. Robert Buford "Bob" Swan was born January 14, 1939 in Tucumcari, NM the son of Abraham Buford and Leta Carmack Swan. He grew up and attended school in Albuquerque. After graduating from St. John's Military Academy in Kansas, he attended the University of New Mexico. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp Reserves. A pilot, Bob worked for Post Aviation in New Mexico before being employed by Trans Texas Airlines which later became Continental Airlines. He retired in January 1999 after 34 years of service. Bob was united in marriage with Elaine Munn on December 7, 1971 in Dallas. They have made their home in Brookshire for the past year. A member of Second Baptist Church in Houston, TX, Bob passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2002 in Houston after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 63 years old. He is survived by his wife, Elaine Swan; daughter, Jessica Swan; and mother-in-law, Lorene Eiland and her husband, Tom all of Brookshire, TX. He is also survived by his father-in-law, Don Munn and his wife, Earlyne of Richmond, TX; brother-in-law, Donald Munn and wife, Charlotte of Sealy, TX; six cousins; one aunt; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Service was held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 6, 2002 at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel in Bellville with Reverend Steve Seelig officiating. ANGELA SOSAYA BIDDLE, 91, of Santa Fe, died Tuesday at the home of her sister and brother-in-law. She was born in Santa Fe Oct. 14, 1910. She enjoyed notoriety as a model to the late Russian artist Leon Gaspard in Taos. She served as a designer for Agnes James at Santa Fe's Pins and Needles, and she was formerly employed at St. Vincent Hospital. For the majority of her life, she remained a member of Cristo Rey parish. She was preceded in death by her parents, Agustin Sr. and Victoria Roybal Sosaya; husband, Martin 'Jack' Biddle; son, Michael Biddle; and three sisters, Florence Conley, Mary Dolores Sosaya and Consuelo Sosaya. She is survived by Anita (the late Harry) Nelson of Alamo, Calif.; Stella (Eloy) Montoya of Santa Fe; Agustin (Priscilla) Sosaya Jr. of La Mesa, Calif.; Monica (Richard Sr.) Halford of Santa Fe; and many nieces and nephews. HENRY LUCERO, 66, of Espaņola, died Tuesday following a lengthy illness. He was a U.S. Navy veteran during the Korean conflict, member of V.F.W. and the Sacred Heart Parish and was currently employed with the Espaņola Transit Mix. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pablo and Teresita Lucero; brother, Isidoro Lucero; mother-in-law, Stella Archuleta; and grandson, Michael Sandoval. He is survived by his wife, Laura Lucero of Espaņola; children, Lorie Ann Lucero-Martinez and husband Paul of Fairview, Johnny Lucero and wife Veda of Fairview, and Michelle Sandoval and husband Raymond of Santa Cruz; brothers and sisters, Mabel Vigil of Center, Colo., Amy Mascarenas and husband Gilbert of Chamita, and Wilfred Trujillo of Espaņola; five grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. BEATRICE J. MARTINEZ, 61, of Ensenada, died Monday following a short illness. She was a lifelong resident of Tierra Amarilla and Ensenada. She was a Headstart teacher for many years in Tierra Amarilla. She worked as a cook for the Rio Arriba County Detention Center. She worked for the Senior Citizens Center as the director. She was a member of the San Jose Church in Los Ojos. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Chon and Cristobal Casias; and mother-in-law, Rosa Martinez. She is survived by her husband, Jake Martinez of Ensenada; sons, Jerry Martinez, and Paul Martinez and companion Bernie both of Ensenada; daughters, Frieda Martinez of Ensenada, and Fatima Berry and husband Jon of Corrales; step-sons, Eddie Martinez and wife Ercie, and Robert Martinez both of Espaņola, and Chris Martinez and companion Laverne of Ensenada; step-daughters, Gloria Quintana of Chama, and Barbara Martinez of Espaņola; brother, Everaldo Casias of Tierra Amarilla; sisters, Marcella Ulibarri and husband Armando of Tierra Amarilla, and Prescilla Samora and companion Joe of Albuquerque; seven grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. JASON WEST, 23, died Tuesday. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Mr. Myron West. He is survived by his parents, Linda Ware and David C. West; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Ware-Bedford, paternal grandmother, Mrs. Margaret West-Hubbard all of Iowa; brother, Joseph David West and wife Jessica; and niece Hunter Lynn West all of Albuquerque; and many other relatives and friends. Margaret Elizabeth Peggy Miller Baird died on June 4, 2003. She was born on March 22, 1913 in Sharpsville, PA. Her husband, Al, preceded her in death. Margaret is survived by her sister, Jessie Folk of Shoemakersville, PA; two sons, Al, of Pagosa Springs, CO, and Perry and wife, Melody of Albuquerque; five grandsons, Scott and wife, Olga of Nyack, NY, Jeremy and wife, Ginger of Maybrook, NY, Aaron and wife, Kelly of San Diego, CA, Jonathan of Albuquerque, Adrian of Pagosa Springs, CO, Dwayne of Pagosa Springs, CO, one granddaughter, Bethany and husband, Oscar Camacho of Albuquerque; one great-grandson, Dimitri; two great-granddaughters, Jasmine and Jayde. Peggy developed an interest in the Bible in her later years and expressed a desire to become one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Her Memorial Service will be conducted by Chuck Severino, an elder and ordained minister in a local congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2003 at French Mortuary - Westside Chapel.

Fermin C. Gonzales, Sr., 81, a resident of Tijeras, died Friday, June 6, 2003. He is survived by his daughter, Dora McComb and husband, Lewis Jr. of Bloomfield, NM; sons, Rudy Gonzales, Clifford Gonzales, and Fermin C. Gonzales, Jr, all of Tijeras, NM; grandchildren, Beverly Chavez, Ida McComb, Ivy Gonzales, Mario Gonzales, and Fermin Gonzales, III; and brother, Ray Gonzales. He was preceded in death by his wife, Angelina Gonzales in 1999. Mr. Gonzales was a WWII Veteran. He worked for civil service at Kirtland AFB for 31 years. Grace Carol Harker, 79, of Edgewood, NM passed away November 5, 2002 in the company of her family in Huntingtown Maryland. Grace was born March 4, 1923 to Albert and Alberta Wilkin in Quincy, Illinois. She graduated from Quincy High School, and Gem City Business College. In 1947 she moved to St. Louis, where she met her husband, Vester Harker. In 1958 they moved to the east mountain area. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Vester Harker; daughter, Rebecca Harker-Barnette (Alan) of Huntingtown MD; brother, Robert F. Wilkin (Adele) of Burnet TX; grandchildren, Cody, Cheyenne and Cassidy Barnette. It was her wish to give her body to the Anatomical Gift Foundation and be cremated. Her Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 13, 2003 10:00 a.m. at the Mountain Valley Cemetery in Edgewood, NM. Pastor Phil Van Wart Officiating.
