ANDRES SANCHEZ, 48, of Los Alamos died Saturday.
He graduated from Los Alamos High School and later enlisted in the U.S. Army. He worked in construction and was an officer at Los Alamos National Laboratory security. He was an avid skier, runner and loved the outdoors.
He is survived by his children, Mitzi Sanchez and significant other Errol Cohn of El Llano; Zach Sanchez, Andrea Sanchez of Española, and Anthony Sanchez of Española; parents, Dennis and Carol Sanchez; brothers, Bobby and wife Isabel Sanchez of Cordova and Dwayne Sanchez and wife Reina, and Marty Gonzales; sisters, LouAnn Gonzales and husband Albert and Brenna of Cordova; and many other relatives and friends.
A service will be held 6 p.m. today at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Los Alamos. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the same church with burial to follow at the Guaje Pines Cemetery in Los Alamos.

ROSALIA TRUJILLO, 85, of Santa Fe died Saturday after a long illness.
She was a mother and neighbor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Simon and Carmelita Romero; husband, Narciso Trujillo; sons, Manuel, Simon, Ricky, Eugene and Paul Trujillo; daughter, Jeanette; four sisters; and three brothers.
She is survived by her sons, Eloy and Joe Louis Trujillo and Ernest Romero and wife Margaret; daughters, Josephine Vega, Olivia Dotson and husband Barry of Calif., Bertha Boling and husband Larry; sister, Frutosa Sosa of Ogden, Utah; 23 grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at 6:30 p.m. today followed by a rosary at 7 p.m. at the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with burial to follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

MARY ARNOLD, 92, of Santa Fe died Monday. She was a longtime resident of Santa Fe and a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ.
She was Past Worthy Matron and Past Grand Chaplain of the Order of Eastern Star, and an active sister. She was a Past Mother Advisor for Rainbow Girls and an active member of PEO. She was preceded in death by her husband, Enos.
She is survived by her daughter Sally Wintheiser and husband Robert of Mexico; two grandchildren; and many other relatives.
A visitation will be held 4-6 p.m. today at McGee Memorial Chapel. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at McGee Memorial Chapel with burial to follow at Santa Fe Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
A reception will follow at the Masonic Lodge. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to OES, P.O. Box 337, Santa Fe, N.M., 87501.

ROBERT HOWARD BRANDENBURG, 89, of Taos died Sunday. He practiced law in Taos for more than 50 years and was active in 52 service organizations, including the Taos Fire Department and the Lions Club. He is survived by his wife, Helen Emily Z. Brandenburg; sister, Frances B. Hume of Florida; children, James Michael Brandenburg and wife Claire of Taos, Sharon B. Adkison and husband H. William of Santa Fe, Elizabeth B. Johnson and husband Clifford of Taos; six grandchildren; and other relatives. Private family services have been held. ARSENIO A. MARTINEZ, 71, of Rio Chama died Sunday after a short illness. He was a craftsman, plumber, welder, designer and carpenter. He loved his ranch and his animals, and was the originator of the Rio Chama and Tierra Azul Land Development Corp. and a trustee of the Juan Lovato Land Grant. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Blessed Sacrament Chapel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan Antonio and Bernardita Martinez; sisters, Epomocena and Luisa Chacon and brother, Wenceslau Martinez. He is survived by his wife, Vita Martinez of Rio Chama; children, Carmen Perez and husband Tony of Maryland, Arsenio Martinez and wife Doris, Arturo Martinez and wife Nadine, Socorro Sanchez and husband Marvin, and Loretta Martinez, all of Rio Chama; brothers, Max Martinez Sr. and wife Ramona of Medanales, Benito Martinez of Rio Chama, Juan Andres Martinez and wife Eutilia of Salt Lake City, Utah, Julio Martinez of Rio Chama, Eutilia Martinez of Albuquerque; sister, Lucia Martinez and husband Sixto; nine grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. A mass will be celebrated at noon today at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow at 2 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. BRIDGET LYNN ORTEGA, 41, of Albuquerque died Monday after a long illness.
She was formerly employed by the state. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Arturo and Josefita Ortega. She is survived by her son, Lorenzo; and his father Larry Maestaes; mother, Rose Ortega and friend Joe Ortiz; sister, Jodi Ortega; brothers, Carlos Ortega and family, John and Annette Ortega and family, David and Carmella Wheeler and family; special niece, Kristina Stark; and many other relatives and friends. GERALD A. POLACO, 52, of Las Vegas, N.M., died Tuesday at Northeastern Regional Hospital. He was a self-employed tax preparer for 25 years. He was an insurance agent and a mortgage broker. He loved to barbecue, cook, and ride around in his car. A lifelong Catholic, he was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Antonio Polaco. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Estefanita and Macedon Montoya of Las Vegas, N.M.; son, Gerald Polaco Jr. of Rio Rancho; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held all day today with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. GONZALO N. QUINTANA, 74, of Pecos died Monday. He was preceded in death by his mother, Abelina Vigil; son, Arthur Quintana; and brothers, Tony and Gilbert Quintana. He is survived by his wife, Jane; son, Steve Quintana and wife April; daughter, Arlene and husband Melvin Lopez; sister, Grace Sena; and four grandchildren. He is also survived by his children from a former marriage, Gloria, Janet, Maxine and Barbara; 11 grandchildren, including Rachel Rodriguez and Gloria Gonzales, whom he helped raise; and many other relatives and friends. KENNETH EDWARD ANDREW SHAMY, 7, of Guache died suddenly on Sunday. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, William C. AURELIA VIGIL, 65, of Chimayó died Tuesday after a long illness. She was a lifelong resident of the community of Chimayó. She loved to cook and at one time did catering. She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church and the Carmelitas. She helped raise four children after their parents died. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sebedeo Vigil; parents, Jacinto and Prudencia Martinez; father and mother-in-law, Abran and Guadalupe Vigil. She is survived by her son, Billy Vigil and wife Yvonne of Chimayó; nephews and nieces raised by her, Ruth Harris, Levie Espinosa and Joe J. Garcia, all of Chimayó and William Hatcher of Santa Fe; three grandchildren; and many friends. A rosary will be recited at 7:45 tonight at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayó.
