TINA MARTINEZ of Los Alamos died Monday. She is survived by her sisters Amalia Medina of Albuquerque, and Terry Griffin of Springer; brothers Rumaldo Trujillo, Sevriano Trujillo, and Frank Trujillo; children Michael Martinez of Santa Fe, Gino Martinez of Farmington, and Rita Martinez and husband David Smith of Albuquerque; grandchildren Christopher Martinez, Nina Martinez, Zack Smith, Aaron Martinez, Amanda Martinez, Adam Martinez and Jesse Martinez; and numerous other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Berardinelli Chapel. Private burial services are pending. Berardinelli Family Funeral Service.

LAURA E. MILLER, 85, of Santa Fe died Monday. She was born Sept. 2, 1915, to Herman C. and Mary E. Hughes in Cooperton, Okla. Her family moved to Colfax County when she was an infant. She moved to Albuquerque in 1931 and lived there until 1980 when she married 'KK' Miller and moved to Santa Fe. She was a member of the American Business Women's Association, the Order of Eastern Star, White Shrine of Jerusalem and Nell's Service Club. She attended Sunday School and services at St. John's United Methodist Church and was a member of the Tap Dancing Grandmothers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth K. 'KK' Miller. She is survived by her son, James Roy Wheeler and wife Juanita of Santa Fe; grandson, Gregory S. Wheeler of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Roxane Butts of Capitan; sisters Frances Bradford of Hot Springs, Ark., and Betty Bowling of Decatur, Ala.; and her companion of the last two years, Arthur Lentz. Visitation from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Berardinelli Chapel. Funeral services at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John's United Methodist Church. JOSE E. PADILLA, 83, of Los Vigiles died Monday at the Northeastern Regional Hospital in Las Vegas, N.M. He was born Oct. 4, 1917, to Clemente Padilla and Elena Romero Padilla in Las Vegas. He married Beatrice Gonzales on March 14, 1988, in Las Vegas. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was awarded two Bronze Stars. He worked for the Public Service Company of New Mexico for over 40 years, retiring as a supply foreman. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Juan Padilla, Alfonso Padilla, Nestor Padilla, Adolpho Padilla and Ramon Padilla; sisters, Mela Gallegos, Della Mendoza, Raquel Martinez and Maria Roybal; his wife, Margaret Lucero-Padilla; and infant son, Baby Padilla. He is survived by his children Joe Padilla of Eagle Nest, Robert Padilla and wife Rose Marie of Corrales, Henry Padilla and wife Sandra of Denver, Anna Padilla-Palacio and husband Santiago of Albuquerque, Michael Padilla and wife Rachel of Denver, Judy Lucero and husband Peter of Rio Rancho, Edwina Gonzales of Las Vegas; grandchildren, Juanito Valdez, Dorene Herrera, Oxanna-Natasha, Clarence Padilla, Josette Lucero, Terrence Padilla, Stephanie Olguin, Xavier Padilla, Monice Valles, Darlene Padilla, Ben Padilla, Dino Padilla, Nadine Rion, Paul Padilla Jr., Edwina Ortiz, Aaron Lucero, Angelique Lucero and Celine Lucero; 31 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; nephew that was raised like a brother, Benny Montoya of California; sister-in-law, Lucinda Padilla of Montezuma; brother-in-law, Fred Lucero of Las Vegas, N.M.; and numerous other relatives and friends. CARMELITA TRUJILLO ROMERO, 86, of Truchas died Sunday. She was born March 17, 1915, to Epifania and Gavino Trujillo in Cordova, N.M. She was a member of the Hermanas Carmelitas, the Holy Family Society and Hermanos y Hermanas Cursillistas. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Cosme Romero; brothers Edumenio and Esfren and infant brother, Eli Trujillo. She is survived by her sister, Maria Eremita and husband Glen Manges; children Sam and wife Angie Romero of Albuquerque, Henry Romero, Susie and husband Loretto Gurule of Truchas, Bernice Mascareñas of Chamita, Cecilia Romero, Nora Romero and Mary Helen and husband Chic Kelty of Santa Fe; 10 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren; dear friends, Amelia S. Maestas and Mable Martinez; and numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation at 4 p.m. today at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Truchas with rosaries recited at 4 and 7 p.m. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at the same church. JOE J. SALAZAR, 68, of Las Vegas, N.M., died Sunday. He was born Aug. 16, 1932, to Merijildo Salazar and Delfina Romero Salazar in Maes. He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. He enjoyed boxing and bowling. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sister, Georgia Salazar of Las Vegas; brothers Sam J. Salazar and wife Josie, and Frank Salazar and wife Pauline, all of Las Vegas; nephews and nieces, Robert Salazar, Joann Salazar, and Sam Salazar Jr., all of Las Vegas, Marcella Dodd of Las Vegas, Nev., Ralph Salazar of Albuquerque, Frankie Salazar Jr., and Jolene Salazar, both of Denver, and Steve Salazar of Los Lunas; and numerous other relatives and friends. GILBERT TRUJILLO, 77, of Costilla died Saturday. He was a school teacher in Costilla for 31 years. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rosalie Trujillo. He is survived by his wife, Lucille Trujillo; daughters Pauline Gutierrez and husband Richard of Albuquerque, Diana Duran and husband Joey of Santa Fe, and Janice Silveria and husband Tony of Tracy, Calif.; son, Gilbert Trujillo Jr. of Denver; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother; and six sisters. An evening service will be held at 7 p.m. today at Abundant Life Fellowship in Amalia. Funeral services at 10 a.m. Thursday at the same location. Burial will follow at the Garcia Cemetery in Garcia, Colo.

EUNICE PIERCE ULRICH, 91, of Taos died May 1. She was a resident of Plaza de Retiro since 1992. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Leslie Crespin Vinella. She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Hoekstra and husband Carl of Corning, N.Y.; son-in-law, Ray Vinella of Taos; and grandchildren Dan and Dirk Hoekstra, Susie McKendrick, and Greg, Christopher and Tony Vinella. Jerry (Nino) Aragon. Born on July 6, 1957 went into the arms of the Lord on May 8, 2002. Jerry is survived by parents, Joe and Ida; brothers and sisters, Dorothy, Bertha, Jonella and Leroy Brazfield, Johnny and Lorraine, Ruby and John Esquibel, Edward, Larry and Jennie, Joey and Roberta, Lucille and Joey Romero and Beatrice. Mary O. Bachechi, 87, a resident of Albuquerque for 70 years, died Monday, May 6, 2002. She is survived by her sons, Patrick Bachechi and wife, Donna, and Victor J. Bachechi and wife, Sue, both of Albuquerque; daughter, Mary Claire Bachechi of Corrales, NM; daughter-in-law, Susan M. Bachechi of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Brenda, Ann, Carla, Kimberly, Molly, Marie, and Charlie Bachechi; step grandchildren, Liz Mustoe and Karrie Henry; great grandchildren, Ashlyn and Jordan Bachechi-Clark; step-great grandchildren, Jennifer Mustoe, Thomas Rials and Amber Rials; brother, John D. Guest and wife, Sophie, of Wickenburg, AZ; sisters, Teresa Sei and husband, Amerigo, Rita Curran and husband, John, both of Albuquerque, Regina Moran and husband, Thomas, of Denver, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlo Bachechi in 1980; son, Charles G. Bachechi in 1981 and brother, Patrick F. Guest in 1941. Mrs. Bachechi was born in Cole, OK. She trained and worked as a registered nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital. Mrs. Bachechi was the first flight attendant hired by TWA from west of the Mississippi. She married Carlo Bachechi in 1937 and after starting a family, she became a homemaker and caregiver to many. She raised her family on a ranch located on North Rio Grande Blvd. Mrs. Bachechi's final days were spent at Montebello Retirement Community. Rosary will be recited Thursday, May 9, 2002, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with The Marinates reciting. James Gabriel Cruz, 21, passed away May 6, 2002. He was a member of the Catholic Church and was a beloved son, brother, and father. James will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends. He is survived by his fiancé, Raquel Ramirez; son, Esteban Gabriel Cruz; father, Frank Cruz; mother and step-father, Irene and Billy Joe Chavez; sisters, Cynthia Rose, Lisa Lopez and husband, Michael, Trish Benavidez and Phillip, Emily Sanchez and husband, Tim; other nieces, nephews, family and friends who loved and will miss him. Services will be held at St. Anne Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2002. Willie Era Davis passed away quietly in her sleep at the Ladera Nursing Center in Albuquerque on Sunday, May 5, 2002 at 10:15 a.m. A resident of Albuquerque since 1950, Willie Era Davis was born and raised on the family ranch in Goldthwaite Mills County, Texas on January 10, 1907. She graduated from Center PT High School, Center Pt, Texas. Born to Leona Traylor Marler and Samuel A. Marler she was the 9th of ten children, having six sisters and four brothers along with many nieces and nephews. Upon graduating from High School she received a ranch in Magdalena, NM in 1927 where she proceeded along in ranching. Later where she met her future husband of 60 years. Thurman Archie Davis who with son, James M. Davis preceded her in death. She is survived by five children, Wilford Davis of Albuquerque, NM, Trudy and husband, Brad Shelburn of Lafayette, OR, Bob Davis of Wenatachee, WA, Larry Davis of Albuquerque, NM, Linda Thomson of Rocky Pt. NC; and 12 grandchildren. Visitation will be held May 7, 2002 and May 8, 2002 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at Strong-Thorne Mortuary 1100 Coal Ave SE. Graveside Services will be May 9, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. in Sandia Memory Gardens two blocks north of Alameda and San Pedro NE. Wynora Deon Davis
Wynora Deon Davis entered this world in Hereford, TX on Monday, October 26, 1931. She completed her earthly journey on Tuesday, April 30, 2002. She is survived by her husband, Roy Davis of Albuquerque; son, Russell Davis and wife, Ann Kirk Davis of Portland, OR; granddaughters, Ariana and Rowan Davis of Portland, OR; son, Michael Davis; her loving aunt, Wyntle Eastham of Albuquerque; sister-in-law, Evalena O'Dell and husband, Farien; brothers-in law, Walter Davis and wife, Jean of Alton, IL and Bill Davis and wife, Pearl of Murray, KY. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held Thursday, May 9, 2002, 4:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Bill Patrick Duran, age 43, a resident of Albuquerque for the past 12 years died May 7, 2002. Bill was born March 17, 1959 in Trinidad, CO, to Andrew and Lydia (Gonzales) Duran. Survivors include his wife, I. Marie Duran of Albuquerque, NM; God-daughter, Christina "Teeny" Caranta; step-daughters, Carissa and Cassandra Caranta; step-son, Christopher Caranta; son, Andres Shirm; parents, Andrew Duran and Kathy of Pueblo, CO, Lydia Duran and Zoe King of Albuquerque, NM; grandmother, Mackie Duran of Trinidad, CO; brothers, Richard Duran of MN, Cameron Schunemann of Albuquerque, NM, Bill Shunemann of CA; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins from Albuquerque, NM and Trinidad, CO. Bill loved to ride his bike, fish, camp and spend time with his friends and family. Elizabeth Armijo Gallegos (1925-2002) loving wife, sister and special auntie passed away May 6, after a long illness. She was a loving care-giver to many nieces and nephews, and also to their children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Patrocino and Juanita Armijo; sister, Anne Padilla; and brother, Robert Armijo. She is survived by her husband, Felipe Gallegos; brothers, Luis Armijo, Ernest Armijo and wife, Victoria; sister, Dorothy Armijo and companion, Esequiel Contreras. Elizabeth helped her family whenever they needed her. Babysitting was her specialty. Burial Mass Thursday 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Burial at Mt. Calvary cemetery. Pallbearers Ernie Armijo, Patrick Armijo, Arthur Lee Armijo, Ralph Pargas Jr., Tony Pargas, Joey Blevins. Honorary: Jeremy Armijo, Monica Hernandez, Melissa Cruz. Gregorio M. Garcia, 93, passed away on May 6, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Eliza; son, Juanito; sister, Anita Ramirez; stepdaughter, Amelia Torrez; special niece, Remedios Balido; other numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Carmen; and brother, Sam. He retired from the Pacific Railroad. Services will be held today at 10:00 a.m. in the Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave., S.E., with Rev. Richard Mansfield officiating. Joseph L. Garcia, born on August 22, 1926 and went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on May 5, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Romie of 52 years; seven children; and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Stanley; a grandchild, Keith; and several brothers and sisters. A Rosary will be recited at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, 1502 Sara Rd., SE, Rio Rancho at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2002. A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish in Jemez Springs on Saturday, May 11, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to the National Kidney Foundation, P.O. Jean Kari Harkins, 68, resident of Albuquerque, NM for 32 years, formerly of Milwaukee, WI passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2002. She was preceded in death by her husband, of 39 years, James Kenneth Harkins on November 27, 1989; her father, Leonard Halverson; two daughters, Sandra Jean Harkins and Michelle Marie Harkins. She is survived by three children, Jamie Harkins and fiancee, Kenny Sedillo, Wendy Gallegos and husband, Steve Gallegos and son, Michael Harkins all of Albuquerque. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Christina and Sheri Harkins, Leann, Raymond and Ruben Nieto, Erin Harkins, Daniel Buettner of 29 Palms, CA, Kari Buettner of Allenhuyrst, GA; one great-granddaughter, Mariah King and her mother, Wave Westfall; one great-grandson, Jose Angel Godina; granddaughter, Patricia Godina and husband, Jose all of Albuquerque; two sisters, Selma Oliver of Rio Rancho, NM and Rose Siperrko of Albuquerque, NM and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, May 10, 2002 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Metropolitan Direct Burial and Cremation Center, 729 San Mateo NE, Albuquerque,NM. Joan G. McMichael, age 68, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque and Santa Rosa, New Mexico, died Tuesday, May 7, 2002. She was born October 12, 1933 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to the late Ira and Irma (Gibson) McMillan. Survivors include sons, James (Macky) M. McMichael and wife, Linda of Albuquerque, NM, Bill R. McMichael and wife, Kimberly of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Kira Lea Baca, Amanda Dearholt, Kayliegh McMichael, Jared McMichael, Stephanie McMichael, Billy R. McMichael Jr.; three great-grandchildren, Alex Baca Jr., Kylie Martinez, Cailin Martinez and numerous close friends in Albuquerque and Santa Rosa, New Mexico. Mr. Ernest Nuanez (Ernie), 68, born December 17, 1933 in Albuquerque (Martinez Town) lifelong resident of Albuquerque passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2002. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlos and Raquel Nuanez. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Eva Nuanez; daughters, Elaine Armijo and husband, Manuel, Sandra Abeyta, Liz Mulligan and husband, Patrick; sons, Stevie Nuanez, Anthony Nuanez and wife, Shelly; seven grandchildren, Dominic, Angelo, and Monica Abeyta, Jesse Armijo, Shane Mulligan, and Samuel and Noah Nuanez; brothers, Frank Nuanez and wife, Annie of Oceanside, CA, Johnny Nuanes and wife, Dorella, Lorenzo Nuanez and wife, Elvia; sisters, Sally Lovato and husband, Leonardo, and Stella Tapia and husband, Tony; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and many special friends. Ernie was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the US Navy. He was an avid golfer, loved spending time with his family and friends and getting up early!! Tony Allen Roseberry, 44, of Santa Fe, NM and a former resident of Anderson and Indianapolis, IN passed away Monday, May 6, 2002 at the University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque. Tony was born on May 18, 1957 in Anderson, IN a son of Cleodas and Carolyn (Lewis) Roseberry. Tony was a 1975 graduate of Anderson Highland High School and had been employed by Burger King Restaurants since 1975. He was currently the Area Manager of Albuquerque a position he had held for the past six years. he was a member of the Knightstown Church of God and he had designed a web page. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lewis and Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Roseberry. Survivors include his parents, Cleodas and Carolyn "Kay" (Lewis) Roseberry of Anderson, IN; daughter, Chelsea Roseberry, Evergreen, CO; brother, Todd Roseberry, Anderson, IN; sister, Tami and husband, Gary Wilson, Anderson, IN; nieces and nephews, Kindra and husband, Bill Whetsel, Linzi Campbell, Makayla Roseberry, Blake Wilson; great-niece, Olivia Whetsel; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and numerous friends. Funeral Services for Tony will be held on Friday, May 10, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Faith Chapel in Knightstown, IN with Rev. Randy Gross officiating. Friends may call at the Todd Funeral Home, Butcher Chapel in Knightstown on Thursday, May 9, 2002 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Burial will be made in Glen Cove Cemetery at Knightstown.

Mr. Jose I. Sanchez, 73, born in Escabosa, N.M. and a resident of Albuquerque passed away on May 7, 2002. Mr. Sanchez is the beloved husband of 52 years to Mrs. Henrietta Sanchez. He is also survived by one daughter, Rosann Benavidez and husband, Walter; three sons, Randy Sanchez and wife, Nancy of Wisconsin, Ronnie Sanchez, Rueben Sanchez and wife, Sandy of Colorado; a brother, Luciano Sanchez and wife, Jennie; a sister, Yolanda Erickson and husband, John; six grandchildren, Jamie, Roxanne, Nathan, Daniel, Chelsea and Sabrina; two great-grandchildren, Paxton and Elias; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Sanchez is preceded in death by a son, Ralph Sanchez, 1971. Mr. Sanchez was a member of the Catholic Church, the original founder of the Zapata Club, an heir to the Atrisco Land Grant and he loved his ranch in Chilili. A visitation for Mr. Sanchez will be Friday evening after 6:30pm at San Martin Catholic Church, 8301 Camino San Martin SW with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Gabriella Nieto. A final visitation will be Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at San Martin Church with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. by Father James Vance. Pallbearers will be, Randy Sanchez, Ronnie Sanchez, Rueben Sanchez, Jamie Sanchez, Walter Benavidez and Eddie Lucero. Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Sanchez and Nathan Benavidez. Cremation to follow. Interment of cremains will take place at a later time. Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Rd SW in charge of the arrangements.
