Isabel P. Salas, 78, passed away on May 7, 2003. She was born on July 10, 1926 in Clyde, NM. Mrs. Salas is preceded in death by her husband, Trinidad Salas Sr., her son, Ernest Salas; brother, Salvador Peralta and sister Crucita Chavez. She is survived by her sons, Richard Salas and wife Deborah, Albert Salas, Ernest Steven Salas and wife Betty, Trinidad Salas Jr. and wife Viola and Edward Salas and wife, Patty; daughter-in-law, Pamela Garcia; sister Josefita Perez; grandchildren Adrian, Adam, Jacklyn, Jerilyn, Albert Matthew, Monique, Ray, Ashley, Andrea, Alexandrea and Crystal and great-grandchildren, Alexis, Mateo and Genesis. Mrs. Salas will be deeply missed by her loving family. Visitations will be held on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited following at 7:00 p.m. in the Eighth Street Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. Sefora Baca Sanchez of San Marcial, NM, died Tuesday, May 6, 2003 in Albuquerque. She is survived by her husband, Ernest J. Sanchez of Albuquerque; daughters, Oma Sandoval of Placitas, Catherine Thornton of Texas and Carla Remington of Albuquerque; ten grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and sister, Priscilla Ortiz of Albuquerque. Jewell F. Sutton, 77, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away on Wednesday May 7, 2003. She is survived by her loving family; three sons, Larry W. Sutton and his wife, Shirlee of Eustis, FL, Lonnie P. Sutton and his wife, Lydia of Los Lunas, NM, and Donald R. Sutton and his wife, Lisa of Flagstaff, AZ; her grandchildren, Chad P. Sutton of Moriarty, Lara Guttentag and her husband, Mike of Lake Mary, FL, Cody W. Sutton and his wife, Melody of Los Lunas, NM, Lanee Sutton of Chicago, IL, Loren P. Sutton of Tallahassee, FL, and Mark R. Phyllis A. Taylor, 77, passed away on May 6, 2003. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Vince D. Taylor. They both retired from service of over 30 years with AT&T when they moved from Albuquerque to their residence, of now over 23 years, in La Cueva, NM, in the Jemez Mountains. Phyllis is survived by her daughters, Suzanne Walzer, Sandra Smith, Linda Coover, Trin Cody, Lucy Taylor; son, Randy Taylor; and numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews; and host of relatives and friends. Phyllis was a very precious soul who was loved by all and will be deeply missed. There will be a reception on Sunday afternoon, May 11, 2003 at the home in La Cueva. Esteban Torres died Friday, May 2, 2003 in Albuquerque at the age of 50. Mr. Torres is survived by his wife, Clementina Torres; sons, Angel, Alfredo and Esteban Torres; daughters, Veronica Mascarenas and husband, Carl, and Valeria Reyna and husband, Armando; brother, Raul Torres; sisters, Rosa Elia Torres-Cordova and Guadalupe Torres; and seven grandchildren.

David Larry Trujillo born on November 29, 1944 and died on Tuesday, May 6, 2003 in Albuquerque. David is survived by his father, Antonio S. Trujillo; sisters, Zelma Kolch of Denver, CO and Mrs. Gloria Black of Peoria, AZ; several nieces, nephews, siblings and numerous friends. David was a Vietnam Veteran and the grandson of Elfego Baca, noted New Mexico Lawman. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lydia Trujillo, nee Avila. Ivan W. Vermillion, 92, a resident of Albuquerque since 1947, died Monday, May 5, 2003. He is survived by grandsons, Roy Vermillion of Port Angeles, WA and Jack Vermillion and wife, Nancy, of Albuquerque; great-grandsons, Brandon and Jordan Vermillion; daughter-in-law, Ruth Vermillion and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Arvesta Vermillion September 4, 1999; son, James Ivan Vermillion in 1989; brother, Dale Vermillion and sister, Hazel Wilson. He was born October 1, 1910 to Frank and Lola Vermillion in Toledo, Illinois and Married Arvesta Keller on December 27, 1930. He was a farmer in Illinois and moved to Albuquerque in 1947. He was a superintendent at Mossman and Gladden. He retired from the City of Albuquerque Building Department as Chief Building Inspector. He was always willing to help his friends and neighbors. He was a member of Sandia Baptist Church. Services will be held Saturday, May 10, 2003, 2:00 pm, at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd, NE with Dr. Robert J. Butler officiating. Donald L. Willard, 61, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on May 5, 2003 after a long illness. Donald is survived by his precious wife, Jean; his beloved son, Alan, both of Rio Rancho; his three brothers and one sister all of CA. Imogene Williams, 81, a resident of Albuquerque since 1942, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2003. She is survived by her sons, Jim Williams and John Williams and wife, Jan; sister, Maxine McCord; and nieces, Donna Culver and Cynthia Consentino. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Williams; and sister, Thelma Streicher. She was born in Shamrock, TX on February 26, 1922 and was a Charter Member of Valley Christian Church. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school and being a servant of the church and family. ISIFREDO 'FRED' GALLEGOS, 91, of Santa Fe, died Wednesday from complications of pneumonia. He was born on Dec. 22, 1911. He was employed by the state Highway Department for 35 years and was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Cleo Valdez Gallegos, who died in 1987. He is survived by his daughters, Gerlinda Gallegos Somerville and Grace Gallegos; and grandchildren, DeAnza Marie Somerville and Kent Alden Somerville. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at McGee Memorial Chapel. Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. FILOMENA JARAMILLO, 93, of Albuquerque, and originally of La Madera, died Wednesday. She was born to Juan Lorenzo and Reyecita Montoya in La Madera on Nov. 27, 1909. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melaquias Jaramillo and grandson, Marty Lane. She is survived by her daughters, Jennie Hodgson and husband James, and Joann Huot both of Albuquerque; two grandsons; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Eufelia Martinez and Ruth Clokey; and one brother, Roberto Montoya and wife Eppie; and many other relatives and friends. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in the Oratorio of the Morada in El Llanito with public visitation beginning at 6 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Morada in El Llanito with burial to follow in the El Llanito cemetery. JOSE I. NARANJO, 92, of Espaņola, died Wednesday. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melisendro and Raquel Naranjo; daughter, Amadita Naranjo; sisters, Adelita and Josie Naranjo. He was a member of the carpenters' union, La Iglesia de Santa Cruz de la Caņada and the Sagrada Familia. At age 16, he farmed then served in the Civilian Conservation Corps to support his mother and five sisters after the death of his father. His work as a union carpenter encompassed everything from pulling up the rails for the Chili Line to building missile silos for national defense, from repairing the USS Pennsylvania after the attack on Pearl Harbor to helping build the Santa Fe Opera. He is survived, loved and cherished by his wife of 63 years, Ruth Naranjo; children, Gilbert Naranjo and wife Lydia all of Espaņola, Yolanda Harrell and husband David of Santa Fe, and Lou Anna Hauck and husband Kevin of Espaņola; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Acencion Serna of El Guache, Margaret Bustos of California and Lucy Figueroa of California; and many other relatives and friends. ADOLFO ROMERO, 72, of Las Tusas, died Wednesday at his home following an extended illness. He was born in Las Tusas on March 6, 1931, to the late Jose D. Romero and Dolores Padilla Romero. He was married at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Sapello in January 1952 to Alice Torres. He retired in 1991 from the Whittenburg Ranch where he was employed as a farmer and rancher. A lifelong Catholic, he was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas and Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Sapello. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose D. and Dolores Romero; son, Jose M. Romero; sister, Frances Romero-Montoya; mother and father-in-law, Epifano and Lucianita Torres; sister-in-law, Mary Louise Romero; brothers-in-law, Brigido Archibeque, Valentin Sandoval, and Albert Otero. He is survived by his wife, Alice (Torres) Romero of the family home in Las Tusas; son, Orlando A. ELIAS 'STEVE' ROSALES, died Wednesday after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Jan. 20, 1946, in San Antonio, Texas, to Rudy and Connie Rosales. He attended St. Francis Elementary, graduated from St. Michaels's High School in 1965 and attended The College of Santa Fe. In 1966, he enlisted in the Navy and served his country as a seaman. He and Juanita met in Santa Fe and were married on Aug. 14, 1971. In 1972, they were blessed with a daughter, Shannon Marie, and in 1976 they were blessed again with Shawn Margaret. He was a Santa Fe police officer for eight years and worked for the state Printing Bureau, where he retired after 25 years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Connie Rosales; and his brother-in-law, Jose Martinez. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Juanita; his daughters, Shannon Garcia and husband Larry, and Shawn Rosales; his three granddaughters; his father, Rudy Rosales; brother, Rey Rosales of Albuquerque; and many other relatives and friends. MARY C. SCHULLER, 72, died Wednesday. She was born on Sept. 20, 1930, to Harry E. and Edith Dagley in Elmhurst, Ill. She was a clever writer of newspaper stories that were published in Tulsa, Okla., and Washita, Okla., where she lived for many years. She then moved to Albuquerque, where she lived for 25 years before becoming a resident of the Las Vegas Medical Center-Long-Term Care Facility. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis William Schuller, who died in October 1990. She is survived by her son, Francis (Bill) Schuller of Albuquerque; sister, Patricia Wagner of Albuquerque; brother, Harry Jack Dagley of Wisconsin; and many other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. today at the Las Vegas Medical Center Chapel. ANGELA ESTRADA MARTINEZ, 81 years old, formerly of Lordsburg, NM, died on May 10, 1999 after a short illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cassie Martinez; and her grandson, Adrian Abeyta. She is survived by a sister, Beatrice Fierro; four brothers, Javier, Armando, Juan and Raymond Estrada. She is survived by a son, Stephen Charles Martinez and his wife, Katherine; a daughter, Yvonne Abeyta and her husband, Alex Abeyta Jr.; her grandchildren, Stephen Martinez Jr., Kacey Martinez, Lisa Abeyta Sanchez, Lucinda Crowley, Alex Abeyta III, Stephanie Lovato; and seven great-grandchildren. Charles L. Andrews Jr., 72, a resident of Albuquerque since 1950, died Tuesday, may 11, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Willene of the family home; sons, Mike Andrews and wife, Stanlie of Albuquerque, and Andy Andrews and wife, Sandi of Mission Viejo, CA; daughter, Connie Collis and husband, David of San Ysidro, NM; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Ollie Griffith and husband, Jack of Las Cruces; and brother, Ed Andrews and wife, Alene of Las Cruces. Mrs. Toni Annette Apodaca, 38, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on May 8, 1999. Toni was the beloved wife of 17 years to Steve Apodaca. She is also survived by her mother and step-father, Mary Lou Silva and husband, Chelo; father and step-mother, Manuel Baldonado and wife, Lou-Dell; sisters, Aciana Silva and fiance, Steve Trujillo and Adelaida Baldonado; brothers, Daniel Baldonado and wife, Diana, Manuel E. Baldonado Jr. and wife, Virginia, Patrick Baldonado and wife, Irene, Adam J. Baldonado and wife, Lenore of Las Vegas, NV, and Jared Baldonado; grandparents, Arturo and Maggie Ortiz and Antonia Baldonado; aunt, Bernice Sanchez and husband, Fred; uncles, Arthur J. Aurelio "Abie" Baca, 47, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Friday, May 7, 1999. He was born on January 18, 1952 to Lalo and Gabrelita Baca. He is survived by his daughter, Bernadette Baca and fiance, Eloy Torrez; grandfather, Joe Romero; brother, Andy Baca; and sister-in-law, Mary Ann Baca; sister, Angelina Montoya; former wife, Joanne Lucero; niece, Tina Bezdek; nephew, Andy Baca of Seattle, WA; nephew, Sal Baca; niece, Alicia Montoya of Denver, CO; nephew, Robert Montoya of Grand Junction, CO, niece, Valerie Montoya; niece, Vanessa Montoya; nephew, Andrew Baca; niece, Jasmine Baca; special family friends, Max Baca, Chris and Elieja Cooksey, Georgina Cooksey, The Minitrez Family, and Robert Aragon; and numerous other friends and family. Julio Baca, a resident of Bosque, passed away on May 8, 1999. Julio was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Julio served his country proudly in the United States Army during WWII. He worked as the head mechanic at Baca Auto Sales for 42 years. Julio was preceded in death by his parents, Casimiro and Maria Baca; two brothers, Rudy and Jose; one sister, Christina Gomez; and one brother-in-law, Mike Vallejos. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary of 42 years of the family home in Bosque, NM; his children, Alan and his wife, Rose Mary Baca of Tome, Elaine Aragon and her husband, Art of Bosque, Wayne Baca and his wife, Dora of Belen; grandchildren, Bernadette, Sarah, Joshua, Justine, Erminia Marie, J. Mrs. Felicita Baca, 98, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully at home in the arms of her loving family on May 10, 1999. Mrs. Baca was the beloved mother of three daughters, Mary Escobedo of Phoenix, AZ and Stella Barela of Phoenix, AZ and Felicita Lucero; 33 grandchildren; 87 great-grandchildren; 91 great-great-grandchildren; two great-great-great-grandchildren; the spouses of the many grand and great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Mrs. Baca was a member of the Aposento Alto Church and occasionally of Victory Outreach Church. She was a member of the Community of Barelas since 1935 and enjoyed her friends and activities at the Barelas Community Center. She loved her family dearly, being with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren. She loved the children and youth in the neighborhood and they knew her as Gran-ma. Mrs. Baca was preceded in death by her husband, Emilio Baca; her sons, Emilio Baca Jr., and Don Baca; a daughter, Alice Sanchez; grandson, David Lucero; a sister, Stella Baca; and a granddaughter, Mary Jean Escobedo. A prayer service will be held Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Rd. SW, with visitation after 6:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at Victory Outreach Church, 933 Sunset Rd. S.W., with visitation at the church after 9:30 a.m. Pastor Ruben Guajardo Sr., Pastor Dan Sanchez and Pastor Danny Sanchez officiating the services. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be, Max Sanchez, George Lucero, Frank Barela, Simon Escobedo Jr., Robert Escobedo and Eddie Baca. Honorary will be Don Baca Jr., and Jimmy Baca. Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Rd. SW, in charge of the arrangements.
