Aladino Domenicali, 59, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, Friday, July 6, 2001. He was preceded in death by his father, Abramo; mother, Angelica; and brothers, Leonello and Dino. Aladino is survived by his wife of 37 years, Patricia of Albuquerque; son, Ricardo Domenicali and wife, Tisha of Rio Rancho; daughter, Dena Domenicali Cordero and husband, Marcos of Tijeras; grandchildren, Shelby and Alicia Cordero; in-laws, Hattie and Junnie Towery of Albuquerque; plus many other loving and supportive family members and friends. He was born in Italy in 1941 and immigrated to the United States in 1954. Aladino was a soldier in the U.S. Army, retired from Southwest Distributing after 30 years, and worked at Premier Distributing for 6 years. He was a devoted father and grandfather, and will be dearly missed by all that loved him and knew him. Mass will be celebrated Monday, 9:30 a.m., at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1818 Coal Pl. SE, with Father Bob Chabot, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gene Marcum, George Castillo, Richard Badillo, Tony Aragon, Stephen Chavez and John Kolson. Fred Barton Grey, 92, a long time resident of Albuquerque, passed away Friday, July 6, 2001. He was born in Shickshinny, PA on March 5, 1909 to John Edward and Susan Earle Grey. He is survived by his daughters, Judy Frye and husband, Kermit of Albuquerque and Jill See of Rockford, MN; son, Ed Grey and wife, Jean of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Tracie King and husband, Tony, Laurie Zamora and husband, David, Stephane Summers and husband, Chris, Heather Horn and husband, Russ, Dawn Johnson and husband, Eric, and April See; grandsons, K. Scott Frye and wife, Gina, and Matthew See; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Louella Redwood Tucker Grey, whom he married in October of 1941. They lived for several years in Detroit, MI where he worked for the Ford Motor Company. Fred and Louella moved to Albuquerque in 1946 and owned and managed the Keystone Trailer Park. Fred retired from Sandia National Labs after 20 years. He enjoyed painting, writing, golf, horseshoes and traveling. He was a loving father and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him. He was a faithful member of Monte Vista Christian Church for over 50 years and enjoyed his wonderful friends there. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, July 10, 2001 at 2:00 p.m., at Monte Vista Christian Church, 3501 Campus Blvd. NE, with Reverend Fred W. Dorisse, officiating. Interment of cremated remains will be at Sunset Memorial Park at a later date. The family of Mr. Grey would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Sandia Hospice. Francis James Jankowski, 78, of Albuquerque, N.M., formerly of Kettering, OH, died July 6, 2001 in Bethany Lutheran Village, Kettering, Ohio. He was a native of Tribes Hill, New York. He graduated from Union College, Schenactady, NY with a BS in Civil Engineering in 1943 where he was a Recipient of the Physics Prize and the Building Construction Award. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati, with a MS in Engineering, 1947 and a Doctor of Science, in 1949, with a major in Physics. Frank served in the military from 1942 to December 1945; pilot training in the Southeast Training Command; Instructor School at Randolph Field TX where he was a Flight Instructor in Advanced Single Engine Piloting. In an Air Show, he won first place in aerobatic flight competition. In 1945 he graduated from the Air Force Institute of Technology with a major in Aeronautical Engineering and The Air Force Test Pilot School, where he was assigned to Bomber Flight Test Program qualifying in P-40, P-51, P-47, C-45, C-64, B-17,. AT-6, BT-13, PT-17, and L-5 aircraft. He graduated from the Air War College, 1993, was named "Outstanding Graduate." At Westinghouse Electric Company, he participated in the design, development and test of the nuclear power plant for the Nautilus power plant prototype, operated at the Nuclear Testing Site in Idaho, and was on board the Nautilus as an advisor to the startup crew for the first startup of that nuclear power plant. At Battelle Memorial Institute in Columbus, OH, he was the Technical Director for the Critical Assembly (experimental low powered nuclear reactors) Program; experimental nuclear reactors were tested for the Nuclear Powered Aircraft, Nuclear Powered Space Launch, and Boiling Water Reactor Programs. Frank next accepted an assignment as Professor of Nuclear Engineering at Rutgers University, where he set up a nuclear laboratory and designed, built, and operated a unique Subcritical Nuclear Reactor fueled with uranium highly enriched in U-235. From Rutgers, he went to Wright State University in Dayton, OH, two years after the founding of the university, as the first Head of Engineering; there he developed programs in Systems Engineering, Human Factors Engineering (with Dr. Malcolm Ritchie) and Materials Engineering; relinquished the administrative position after five years, and continued another ten years as Professor of Engineering. He took an early retirement from Wright State University in 1984, and was named Professor Emeritus on his retirement. Three months following his early retirement from Wright State University, he accepted a position with the Air Force at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base; three years later he requested and was granted a transfer to the Air Force Weapons Laboratory, later the Phillips Laboratory at Kirtland Air Force Base, Albuquerque, N.M., where he worked in space power, managing and advising projects in solar power, fluid behavior in the zero gravity of space and nuclear power. He was a member of the Interagency Nuclear Safety Review Panel (Air Force, NASA, DOE) which evaluated the safety of Galileo and Ulysses spacecrafts before launch approval could be given; retired from the Air Force position July 1983. Professional assignments included: Ohio Power Siting Board, Public Member, appointed by the Governor, 1982-86; Interagency Advanced Power Group (Washington, DC) 1986-1993 Dayton (Ohio) Area Chamber of Commerce, 1974-83; Chairman of Traffic Safety Committee 1974-76; Governor's Traffic Safety Committee (Ohio), 1972-77; Council of Ohio Engineering Deans, 1970-74, Vice President 1971-73; Reactors Safeguards Committee, Saxton Nuclear Power Plant, General Public Utilities, PA 1960-69; Engineering and Science Institute of Dayton (Ohio), Management Task Group, Chairman 1972-74; Community Advisory Committee for Cable TV for Metropolitan Dayton (Ohio) 1971. Professional Organizations included Sigman Xi, 1942-present; American Nuclear Society from 1954-present and numerous other Scientific Groups. Frank was the author or co-author of more than 60 reports and publications, and editor or contributor to four books. His most recent publication was The Back of the Envelope, which demonstrates the value of engineers and scientists documenting ideas and designs not yet rigorously developed. Dr. Jankowski was very active in the Covenant Presbyterian Church of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Before moving to New Mexico, he was Moderator of the Ohio Conference of the United Church of Christ, 1987. Other activities include President and Editor for the Peppertree/Royal Oak Residents Association of Albuquerque. Survived by Marilyn (Pat) Jean Smith, loving wife of 55 years; daughter, Beth Ellen Casteele and son-in-law, Robert Casteele; two granddaughters, Nicole and Megan Casteele of Kettering, OH; brother-in-law, Carroll L. (Bud) Smith and sister-in-law, Patty of New Lebanon, OH; Jane Smith and family of New Jersey; niece of California and many dear friends across the world. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 11 at David's United Church of Christ, 170 W. David Road with the Rev. William C. Youngkin officiating. Visitations will be Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Arrangements in care of Routsongs, 2100 E. Stroop Road. Burial in Eversole Cemetery, Brookville, Ohio. Connie Lee Joy, 68, a resident of Albuquerque since 1969, died Tuesday, July 3, 2001. She is survived by the husband of 44 years, James J. Joy; children, Barry L. Joy of Truth or Consequences, NM, David A. Joy and wife, Tina of Rio Rancho, NM and Jamie K. Roberts of Sandia Park, NM; 8 grandchildren, James, Christopher, Sylvia, Ambrosia, Veronica, Tasha, Christina and Cynthia; 3 great grandchildren, Kelsey, Jacob and Breanna; sister, Sandra Dumas of San Diego, CA, and step father, Anton Trepina of San Diego, CA. Mrs. Joy worked with Hacienda Home Centers for 13 years. She was member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited Monday, July 9, 2001, 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Eloy Muller, 66, a resident of Grants passed away Saturday, July 7, 2001. He is survived by his daughters, Ruby Sandoval and husband, Thomas of Albuquerque and Loretta Smith and husband, Pete of Bluewater, NM; grandchildren, Tommy Sandoval and wife, Beth, Joanne Castillo and husband, Thaddeus, Christopher Smith and Matthew Smith; four great-grandsons; sister, Florinda Lovato and husband, Toby; brothers, Pete Muller and wife, Gregorita, Paul Muller and wife, Josie, Evaristo Muller and wife, Angie; sister, Terry Romero and husband, Gabe and brother, Victor Muller and wife, Rosa. He was preceded in death by his son, Alex Muller in 1994, sister, Oralia Chilimidas in 2000 and a brother, Albino in 2000. Mr. Muller was a miner most of his life. He then became a truck driver and traveled most of the country. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday, 6:00 p.m. at French Mortuary-Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW. Cremation has taken place.

Patrick Joseph O'Leary, 20, a past resident of Albuquerque died in Reno, NV on Saturday, July 7, 2001. He is survived by his parents, Bob and Darlene O'Leary; sister, Robin O'Leary; brother, Michael O'Leary all of Albuquerque; paternal grandfather, John O'Leary of Tomah, WI; maternal grandfather, George Dobson of Los Angeles, CA; aunts; Bobbi Hart, Joan Cobrae, Sherrie Ward, Lisa Smith, Mary Westpfahl and Jennie O'Leary; uncles, Ronnie Dobson, Kevin O'Leary and James O'Leary; and numerous cousins. Patrick was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Louise O'Leary and Evelyn Dobson. Services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Montgomery Church of Christ, 7201 Montgomery, NE with Kevin Owen, officiating. Marie Smith, 80, a native of Paquate, NM, and a resident of Lake Charles, LA for the past 18 months, died Wednesday, July 4, 2001 in Lake Charles, LA. She is survived by her son, Albert Smith, Jr. of Lake Charles, LA; daughter, Denise Ellen Smith of Laguna, NM; brothers, Louie Alonzo and Fritz Alonzo, both of Albuquerque; sister, Rose Ingram of IN; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Smith was a graduate of the Albuquerque Indian school and Haskell Institute. She was a secretary and vocational specialist for the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Albuquerque for over thirty years. Services will be held Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas NE, with Father Francis X. Eggert, Celebrant. Interment will take place at 1:30 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.

Luis Stelzner, 84, died peacefully on June 27, 2001. His sons, Luis, Bill and Alex; his eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren will miss him. He was buried at All Souls Cemetery in Long Beach, California, on July 7, 2001. In lieu of flowers, friends are encouraged to make a donation in his memory to the Archbishop's School Fund. Mary A. Tafoya, 66, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away July 7, 2001. She is survived by her daughter, Patty Gutierrez and husband, Ken of Albuquerque; three beautiful granddaughters, Michele, Amanda and Jordan; sister, Lilly Duran and husband, Doroteo of Las Vegas, NV; brothers, Julian Nunez, Henry Nunez and wife, Ruth, Felix Nunez, and Rudy Nunez and wife, Helen, all of Albuquerque; special friend, Candido Martinez; sisters-in-law, Irene, Margaret, Gloria, Mary Lou and Anita; and several nieces and nephews. Ms. Tafoya was preceded in death by her husband, Isidro Tafoya; parents, Cornelio and Delfina Nunez; and brothers, Leo, Mike, and Louie Nunez. Mary was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. John Edward "Jack" Wesbrook died July 8, 2001. He was born October 5, 1917, in Aurora, IL, the eldest child of Joseph J. Wesbrook and Margaret V. Donmeier. A child of the Depression, he learned early the values of his family-self-reliance, quick hands, and hard work. A graduate of Marmion Military Academy in Aurora, he attended the University of Illinois, enrolling in ROTC. He enlisted in the Army in 1942. In 1943, he met Lt. Marie R. Watkins, an Army nurse, and they were married on June 1, 1943, at Camp Barkley in Abilene, TX. He was a veteran of D-Day, commanding 1 Co. 359th Infantry, 90th Infantry Division (the Tough "Ombres" ), in their landing on Utah Beach. He was wounded in combat, and received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart for his service. During his recuperation, he served on General Eisenhower's staff at SHAEF, and was in charge of Eisenhower's bodyguards. In that capacity he met many of the famous generals of World War II, including Omar Bradley, Charles de Gaulle, and Georgi Zhukov. When the war ended, he and his wife moved to Las Vegas, NM, where he worked as a cowboy. In 1947, they moved to Albuquerque where he owned the Wesbrook Laundry at 5th and Mountain Rd. He began work at Sandia National Laboratory in 1952, and became one of the first computer programmers at Sandia. He lead the computer Operations Division for many years, work he enjoyed and never tired of. He continued to serve in the U.S. Army Reserve, retiring with the rank of Colonel in 1974. He retired from Sandia in 1979, never looking back. In his retirement he enjoyed teaching his grandchildren, traveling with his wife, playing bridge, volunteer work and monthly luncheons with a close group of friends. Among the proudest moments of his retirement was inducting his granddaughter, Anne Marie Chaffee, into the Air Force upon her graduation from the United States Air Force Academy. He was preceded in death by Marie, his wife of 57 years, his parents, brother and son-in-law. He is survived by his three children, John J.B. Wesbrook, Ann M. Chaffee, David P. Wesbrook; their spouses; five grandchildren; nieces; nephews and numerous friends. A Rosary will be held at Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Home, 3113 Carlisle NE at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 10. Interment will take place at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Albuquerque Meals on Wheels, the Talking Books program of the New Mexico State Library (Santa Fe), or the Muscular Dystrophy Association of America. Remember him with the words of St. Francis of Assisi, "Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace. Where there is hatred let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy. O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life." RIP

Sheryl "Sheri" Gunn Abrahamson, age 52, joined her Lord Jesus Christ and her beloved parents, Gayle and Anna Gunn, on July 5th, 2002. Sheri, a resident of Albuquerque, is survived by her husband, John; children Nathan, Megan and Bethany, all of Albuquerque; sisters, Gaylon LaVigne, Judie Gunn and their families, all of Albuquerque; brothers, Gary Gunn of San Antonio, TX, Gayle Gunn II of Mesa, AZ and their families; Aunt Barbara and Uncle John and family of Watertown Conn. Cremation has taken place. A gathering will be held at the Abrahamsons' home on July 14th, 2002, between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. For all the prayers and the thoughtful acts of kindness, please accept our deepest gratitude. Viola G. Bell, 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1928, died Friday, July 5, 2002. She is survived by her nieces, Sue Clance of Seal Beach, CA, Pat Boyd and husband, John of Albuquerque, Jean Payne and husband, Joel of Mena, AK; nephew, Roy Edward Williams of Chicago, IL; three great-nephews; and three great-nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, Loren E. Bell. Mrs. Bell was a member of and very involved with Immanuel Presbyterian Church. She worked for many years at Valley High School and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Services will be Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Rev. Joyce Lieberman and Rev. Chris Lieberman officiating. Leonard Frank Buse, age 76, and a resident of Albuquerque for 45 years died July 6, 2002. Survivors include his wife, Dolores Buse of Albuquerque; daughter, Sandra Macris and husband, John of CA; son, David Buse of Albuquerque; sisters, Verna Prehn and husband, Leonard of Albuquerque, Betty Thomas of AR, June Miller and husband, Roger of MD; grandchildren, Michael Macris, Kristie Macris, Tiffany Buse, Brittany Buse and Ashley Buse; four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Leonard was a member of the V.F.W. A private service will be held for Mr. Buse. Arrangements are under the direction of Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave SE.

Colonel John Francis "Jack" Cotters, 77, passed away on July 3, 2002. Born April 8, 1925 in Lockport (Wright's Corners), New York, he had been an Albuquerque resident since 1974. Entering the Army Air Corps in 1943, he graduated Aviation Cadet training at Kirtland Air Force Base where he met and married his wife of 49 years, Delora Mae Miller, daughter of Albuquerque residents, Dan and Violet Neff. Col. Cotters flew B-17 Bombers with the 99th Bomb Group out of Foggia, Italy during WW II, was a member of the European Occupation Forces after the war, and was a pioneer in the computer automation of the United States Air Force in the 1960's and 70's. He retired from the US Air Force in 1974 after a distinguished 30 year military career. Col. Cotters was a member of the VFW, a Scottich Rite Mason, and a long-time active member of the Ballut Abyad Temple. An avid horseman, he served as captain of the Shrine Mounted Patrol for several terms. Col. Cotters is preceded in death by his wife, Delora Cotters and sister, Madeline Kilroy. He is survived by his sister, Olive Maracle of Tonawanda, NY; son, LCDR Jon F. Cotters and wife, Barbara of Hampton, VA; daughter, Susan L. Stoker and husband, Gerald of Edgewood, NM; daughter, Sally E. Wiser and husband, Rick of Rogers, AR; granddaughter, Ashley E. Stoker of
Rincon, Puerto Rico; grandson, David A. Wiser of Austin, TX; and granddaughter, Rachel D. Wiser of Rogers, AR. In deference to the wishes of the deceased, a private ceremony was held July 8, 2002 at Vista Verde Memorial Park. Edith Jeanette Dotterer Made her peaceful transition at age 83 on June 19, 2002 in Novato, CA.
Beloved wife of the late Herbert Dotterer, devoted mother of Daniel Dotterer, Vicki Dotterer, Betty Louise, and loving grandmother of Matthew Dotterer, Debbie Dotterer, Julie Dotterer and Rebecca Davie.
A former resident of Chicago and Albuquerque, she will be remembered for her love of family and sense of humor.

Gerald K. Herbeck, 84, a resident of Albuquerque since 1967, died Sunday, July 7, 2002.
He is survived by his son, Bob Herbeck of Long Beach, CA and sister, Jo An Pidd of Sacramento, CA.
Mr. Herbeck retired as a Captain from the United States Air Force.
He was an avid golfer.

Aldona S. Jameson, age 84, a resident of Albuquerque since 1964 died July 6, 2002 at her home. She is preceded in death in 1997 by her beloved spouse of 55 years, Malcolm McGregor Jameson. She is survived by daughters, Kathleen J. McClure and husband, James of La Grange, IL, Jo Lee Jameson of Albuquerque; sister, Frances "Fritzie" Halper and her companion, Robert Lyddon of Almo, TX; grandchildren, Steven and Windy McClure both of Chicago, IL. Special thanks goes to Armando Melgar for his many years of loving Care. She is also survived by special friends from Delta Hospice - Lynnette Wallner, Julee Foster, Jeannine Smith, Lilly Meadows, Annie Kennelly and Sandra Mendanca. Didianita "Dee Dee" Edwina Jaramillo, 35, born November 4, 1966. A loving daughter, sister and Auntie, left us on July 7, 2002 at Ladera Nursing Home, where she fought a long illness of kidney failure. Dee Dee was preceded in death by her father, Manuel Ray Jaramillo, and her son, Raymond Jaramillo. She is survived by her mother, Gloria Garcia; two brothers, Miramon Garcia and wife Jamie, and Raymon M. Jaramillo; two sisters, Tonya Jaramillo and Gloria Jaramillo; many nieces and nephews. Godmother to George Jaramillo whom she loved very much. She will be missed very much. Memorial services will be announced in the Wednesday, July 10, 2002, Albuquerque Journal. James Rhoads, 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1951, died Wednesday, July 3, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Vadis Rhoads of the family home; two sisters, Geneva James and Mary Matheny, and their families all of Ohio; and a niece, Caroline Antill of England. Mr. Rhoads was preceded in death by his brother, Herbert Rhoads. He was a 2nd Lieutenant Army veteran serving during WWII. Mr. Rhoads was a member of the 41st Armored Infantry Regiment, 2nd Armored Division "Hell on Wheels" . He participated in the invasion of North Africa, Sicily and Normandy, and onto Berlin. Graveside services will be Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Wednesday, 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Animal Humane Association of NM, Inc., 615 Virginia SE, 87108. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.

Funeral Service for Mr. Augustine R. Romero will be held on Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m.
Burial will follow at Belen Catholic Cemetery.

Janet L. Sale, 44, a resident of Albuquerque since 1986, died on Friday, July 5, 2002 after a long and brave battle with cancer. Janet is survived by her loving husband, William M. Resnik; mother, Constance Bonneau Sale of Sacramento, CA; sister, Karen L. Sale and husband, Mark David, of Ipswich, MA; aunt, Leona Dickey and husband, Don, Patricia Keenen and husband, Bruce of Garden Grove, CA, and Diane Velzis and husband, Edward of Pawtucket, RI; uncles, Richard Bonneau and wife, Michaela, Gerard Bonneau and wife, Janice of Dawson, AL; niece, Charlotte David; mother in law, Dolores Frazier, of Albuquerque; father in law, William Resnik, Sr., of Salem, OR; brothers in law, Richard Resnik and wife, Glenna of Flower Mound, TX and Marshall Resnik and wife, Jackie, of Atlanta, GA. Janet was an avid skier and former member of the Sandia Peak Ski Patrol. She had served as President of the Board of Directors of the Chamber Orchestra of Albuquerque. She was a Vice President and stock broker at Morgan Stanley. Janet was a member of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1818 Coal Ave. SE, with a reception to follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chamber Orchestra of Albuquerque, 2730 San Pedro Drive NE, 87110. French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
