DANIEL M. TRUJILLO, 79, of El Rito, died Wednesday. He was an auto mechanics instructor, a New Mexico state field auditor and an Espaņola police officer. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Susie; parents, Federico and Clarita Trujillo; granddaughter, Bonnie Trujillo; son, Joseph Richard Trujillo; brother, Ben Trujillo; and sister, Secundina Silva. He is survived by his wife, Lucy M. Trujillo of El Rito; son, Danny Trujillo and wife Alice of El Rito; daughter-in-law, Susie Trujillo; sister, Clarita Trujillo of Espaņola; brothers, Abe Trujillo and wife Agnes of Espaņola, and Abedon Trujillo and wife Florinda of El Rito; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and seven stepchildren. A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. today at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. today at the San Juan Nepomuceno Catholic Church in El Rito. Amber Leigh Balbo, "Our Little Angel ", born Friday, February 27, 1998, infant daughter of Eric and Regina Balbo of Kirtland Air Force Base, passed away Thursday, March 26, 1998. She is also survived by her grandparents, Jim and Eve Balbo of San Antonio, TX and Lee and Judy Thweatt of Biloxi, MS. Amber was preceded in death by by her grandfather, Paul St. Amant. Services will be held Monday, 10:00 a.m., at Kirtland Air Force Base Chapel with Chaplain David Buttrick officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Gordon W. Battey, 92, died February 25, 1998, peacefully in a hospital near his home in Sun City, Arizona after a brief illness. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Mr. Battey graduated from the Hotchkiss School and Yale University, and was a member of Theta Xi fraternity. He served as an officer in the Civil Engineering Corps of the U.S. Navy during World War II and retired as a Commander. He moved to Albuquerque with his family in 1949, working for the Federal Housing Administration here until 1962 and was Director of Advisory and Technical Services for Region V of the FHA's Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), based in Ft. Worth, Texas, upon his retirement in 1972. After retiring he became a skilled silvercrafter and supported many organizations devoted to protecting wildlife and the environment. Mr. Battey is survived by two sons, Martin and Vernon; and six grandchildren. A private service was held. Donations, in his memory, may be made to the charity of choice.

Mary Blunk, 96, a resident of Albuquerque since 1947, died Wednesday, March 25, 1998. She is survived by her daughter, Chris Baldwin and husband, Chuck of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Sandra Lyn Shaw of Albuquerque, Bill Caswell and wife, Cathy of Farmington, Robert Caswell and Jack Caswell, both of Albuquerque; great-grandchildren, Debbie Shaw, Jeremy Caswell, Mary Caswell and Jacque Caswell; and great-great-grandchild, Jessica Bement. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Blunk; and great-grandson, Christopher Caswell. Graveside services will be held Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE, with Bishop Steve Myers officiating. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.

Eugenia A. (Bublewski), 84, of Albuquerque, died March 10, after a long illness at the Albuquerque Manor Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late James E. Farnsworth. Born and raised in Brockton, MA, Mrs. Farnsworth was a graduate of Brockton High School and of Boston University in 1935. After a short teaching career, Mrs. Farnsworth married and moved to Rockland, MA in 1948, where she lived until moving to Mashpee, MA in 1970. She moved to Albuquerque in 1992, after the death of her husband. Mrs. Farnsworth was a member of the Federated Church of Hyannis, MA. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, reading and cooking. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Walker of Santa Fe; and her step-daughter, Carole Maxwell of Vista, CA. She was predeceased by a step-daughter, Joan Townsend. Also surviving are nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A private graveside service will be held at the Mass. National Cemetery in Bourne. Memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, William Black Medical Research Building, 710 W. 168th St., New York, NY 10032. Harry A. Jamharian, 83, a native of Albuquerque since 1965, passed away on Monday, March 23, 1998 in a local hospital. He is survived by his son, Reuben A. Jamharian, daughter-in-law, Susie, and sister, Rita Jamharian Cook, all of Albuquerque; plus many other loving family members and friends. Mr. Jamharian was a member of the Armenian Orthodox Church. He was also a member of Mesa Lodge #68, AF&AM, the Ballut Abyad Temple of the Shrine and York Rites Bodies. He was a Lt. Col. in the New Mexico State Defense Force and retired owner of Jamharian Oriental Carpets. Visitation will be held Saturday, March 28, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Armenian Orthodox Chapel, 111 Pennsylvania SE. Funeral services will follow at the Chapel with Father Levon Arakelian officiating. Interment will be at Fairview Memorial Park. Mesa Lodge #68 and the York Rite Bodies will also officiate at the interment. Mary Karen Janes, 16, died suddenly Monday, March 23, 1998 of a brain hemorrhage. Her faith, strength, compassion, wit, and beauty will be deeply missed. She was an active and vital member of St. John's United Methodist Church where she was President of the Sonrise Choir. She was a junior at Manzano High School where she was a successful member of the speech and debate team, an alto with the Concert Choir, and a member of the National Honor Society. Her memory will be cherished by the many people who loved her deeply, including her parents, Bob and Karen; her sister, Sara; her special love, Brendan Carn; her grandparents, Martha Janes and Mary Cook; her great-aunt, Emma Jeanne Cook; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins; and countless friends. Memorial services will be held Saturday, 2:00 p.m., at St. John's United Methodist Church, 2626 Arizona NE, with Rev. E. Leonard Gillingham officiating. Azucena Jaramillo, 83, passed away on March 25, 1998 in Albuquerque. She was born in Cuba, NM and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cuba, NM. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Jaramillo Sr.; brother, Luis Valdez; brother, Ricardo Valdez; sister, Beatrice Padilla. She is survived by her four daughters, Eloisa Perez of Bernalillo, NM, Nora Aragon and husband, Eristeo of Cuba, NM, Flora Duran and husband, Chemo of Cuba, NM, Georgia Trujillo and husband, Leonard of Cuba, NM; two sons, Ray Jaramillo Jr. and wife, Emma of Bernalillo, NM, Ross Jaramillo and wife, Carlota of Aztec, NM; also surviving are two brothers, Vitalio Valdez of Albuquerque, Willie Valdez and wife, Rosa of Albuquerque; one brother-in-law, George Jaramillo Sr. and wife, Ernestina of Bernalillo, NM; ten grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday morning, 10:00 a.m., at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cuba, NM. Mrs. Mamie A. Koleski, age 84, died Thursday. She is survived by her husband, George Koleski; daughter, Shirley Hoefler and husband, Bill; sister, Adaline Mazurkiewickz; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Koleski will be Monday at the Ascencion Catholic Church, where mass will celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Pajarito Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Don Marsico, Bart Castillo, William Hoefler Jr., Greg Hoefler, Martin Hoefler and Ted Hoefler. A rosary will be recited Sunday evening, 7:00 p.m., at the Ascencion Church. Thomas Joseph Messier Sr., 69, passed away Sunday, March 15, 1998, on a weekend excursion in Chandler, AZ with his family Lorraine and Rudy Ortega by his side. He was born on October 10, 1928 in McKeesport, PA, residing in Albuquerque for over 35 years. He was a retired USAF Veteran and also from the United States Postal Service. Tom is survived by his sister, Dorothy Manning of McKeesport, PA; daughter, Debbie Woosley of Branford, FL; Thomas J. Messier II of Talent, OR; Kathy Price and Helen Messier of California; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren who he loved taking care of. He was married to Elizabeth Messier for 35 years. Memorial services will be held on April 2, 1998, 11:30 a.m., at the Church of the Risen Savior, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE, 87109. George "Coy" Montoya, 67, a resident of Albuquerque for two years, died Wednesday, March 25, 1998. He is survived by his sister, Rafelita Ulibarri of Patterson City, CA; brother, Dan Montoya and wife, Marie of Raton; and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. Mr. Montoya was born in Albuquerque, but spent a great deal of his life in Los Angeles, CA. He was a veteran of the Korean War, where he served as a medic. Mr. Montoya was a hard-working man and worked for three major race tracks in the Los Angeles area. A prayer service will be held Sunday, 5:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Pastor Ramon Cano officiating. Services will be held Monday, 10:00 a.m., at Iglesia Adventista del Septimo Dia, 5200 Iliff Rd. NW, with Pastor Ramon Cano officiating. Interment will take place at 1:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ted Novinfar, Mike Rotruck, Pat Dougherty, John Moya Jr., Chris Moya, and George Munoz. Allene "Dedo" Rogers, 76, a resident of Mesquite, TX, passed away Friday, March 13, 1998. She was born in Venus, NM on September 20, 1921. She attended various schools, graduating from Moriarty High School. She was preceded in death by her husband, B.F. Rogers. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Glasscock and husband, Ted of Cedar Hills, TX; sons, Terry W. Rogers and wife, Carol of Mesquite, TX, and Everett and wife, Karen of Kansas City, KS; ten grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four sisters; and three brothers. Services were held at Laurel Oaks Chapel in Mesquite, TX, moderated by Rev. Jerry Brown, and laid to rest in Little Bethel Cemetery in Cedar Hills, TX. Allene was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Duncanville, TX.

Lawrence E. Rundell, age 76, and a resident of Albuquerque for 25 years, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 1998 in a local hospital following an illness. Mr. Rundell is survived by his son, Jefferson Rundell of Albuquerque; two sisters, Edna Kaub and Evelyn Geiss, both of Kansas; one brother, Robert Rundell of California; and a special friend, Mary Rose Poineau of Colorado. Jose M. Salazar, 83, passed away Thursday, March 26, 1998 in Albuquerque. He was born December 8, 1914 to Rogerlio and Cipriana (Naranjo) Salazar in Socorro, NM. He is survived by his wife, Deloypa Sais Salazar of Socorro, NM; sons, Joe R. Salazar and wife, Christine of Glendale, AZ and Rudy Salazar and Rose Baca of Socorro, NM; daughter, Natti Gonzales and husband, Connie of Socorro, NM; brother, Roy Salazar and wife, Lupe of McNary, AZ; sister, Jennie Madrid of Socorro, NM; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. Bennie Sanchez, 68, a lifetime resident of New Mexico, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 1998. Bennie was born August 17, 1929, the son of Benjamin and Josephine Candelaria Sanchez in Corrales, NM. Bennie had worked in construction until he retired. He was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin; and his son, Bennie Jr. Bennie is survived by his former wife, Frances; his mother, Josie Sanchez of Corrales; children, Frances Maldonado and husband, Mike of Albuquerque, Evelyn Lovato and husband, Pat of Albuquerque, Robert Sanchez and wife, Evone of Los Lunas, Ted Sanchez and wife, Patty of Corrales, Benny Sanchez and wife, Debbie of Corrales; 16 grandchildren, Neil, Monica, Matthew, Angela, Teddy Jr., Adam Gallegos, Kayla, Robert Jr., Joey, Roberta, Elvis Dimas, Patrick Gallegos, Branden DeSersa, Jessica Padilla, Antoinette, Luis; three great-grandchildren, Daniel, Vanessa, and Nicole; one brother, Ray Sanchez; three sisters, Doily Garbagni, Alice Lovato, and Juanita Garcia. Mr. Jose (Joe) M. Sena, 80, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on March 27, 1998. Mr. Sena is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Georgia; five daughters, Priscilla Sena, Viola Aldridge and husband, Carl, Virginia Sena- Hall and husband, Carlos, Frances Candelaria and husband, Silviano and Maryann Chavez; four sons, Rudolph Sena, Robert Sena and wife, Corrine, Jimmy Sena and Roland Sena; his mother, Mrs. Dolores Mares-Sena; one brother, Fred Sena and wife, Lupe; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Sena was a member of the Catholic Church and a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during WWII. Asher M. Smith, 92, a true gentleman, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 1998. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Smith. After graduating from Belen High School, Asher attended the University of New Mexico. In the early years, he was employed by the railroad, then Albuquerque National Bank, where he retired after 42 years as a Vice-President. Asher was an Army Air Corps Veteran of WWII. He was a life member of B.P.O. Elks and also Temple Lodge #6, A.F. & A.M. Asher was an avid golfer. He is survived by his sister, Josephine Medley of Albuquerque; brothers, Glen Smith of Kansas and Jeff Smith of Clovis; sister-in-law, Agnes Smith of Belen; numerous nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews; special friends, Jackie Grossetete and husband, Don, and their sons, Grant and Mark, and Teri Simmons and husband, Bo. A celebration of Asher's life will be held Monday, 2:00 p.m., at Central United Methodist Church Chapel, East entrance, 1615 Copper Ave. NE, with Rev. Marty Singletary officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park, with Masonic rites by Temple Lodge #6 A.F. & A.M. Roy L. "Pete" Snell, 70, an Albuquerque resident since 1951, died Thursday, March 26, 1998. Mr. Snell is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Snell of the family home; sons, Lee Roy Snell and wife, Joanne of Chesapeake, VA, Walter Earl Snell and wife, Wen of Los Angeles, CA, and William Lacy Snell and wife, Laurie of Albuquerque; daughters, Patricia Robertson and husband, Marty of Tijeras, NM, and Barbara Vaughn and husband, Jim of Prewitt, NM; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; sisters, Bobbie Horne of Concord, CA, and Velma Milton and husband, Tom of Marshall, TX; and numerous other family and friends. He was a member of Hiram Lodge #13, A.F. & A.M. and of Adah Chapter #5, Order of the Eastern Star. Mr. Snell retired from PNM Gas Company in 1986. Delphus Malvin Spinks died Thursday, March 26, 1998, after a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Stephanie; daughter, Susan Lechner and husband, Michael of San Jose, CA; son, Michael Spinks and Maryann Wasiolek; step-son, John Miner and wife, Nadine; step-daughter, Meredith Miner and husband, Phillip White of Portland, OR; grandchildren, Brian Lechner of Irvin, CA, Kate Lechner of Willow Glen, CA, and Corey Miner. After learning Morse Code in the CCC's, he joined the Army Air Corps during World War II and served with the Flying Tigers in China. He retired from the FAA after a 30-year career as an air traffic controller. A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 29, 1998 at 1:00 p.m. in the Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions be made to the Special Olympics.

William "Bill" Tiley, 78, born in Dalhart, TX on July 20, 1919, a resident of Los Lunas since 1962, died Wednesday, March 25, 1998. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara Tiley; brother, Earl Tiley and wife, Becky of Los Lunas; daughters, Carol Nantze and husband, John of Bosque Farms, and Sue Hurford of Los Lunas; son, Robert Tiley of Los Lunas; grandchildren, Lonnie Joplin of Tucson, AZ, Rowdy Rowley and husband, Kenny of Craig, CO, Shiloh Maxwell of Roseville, CA, Kim Hurford and husband, Mike of Tucson, AZ, and Carl Craig of Tucson, AZ; step-grandchildren, Andrea Jones and husband, Rusty and John Nantze and wife, Jill, all of California; great-grandchildren, Wrangler, Nikki and Casey Rowley, Amandalee Joplin, and Melissa and John Nantze; and 25 nieces and nephews and their families. Clare (Andy) Anderson, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away December 20, 1998. He was born May 7, 1927 to Harry and Calmie Anderson in New Richland, Minnesota. He graduated from New Richland High School and served in the Army in Sasebo, Japan with the U.S. Armed Forces 1946/ 47. He was married to Margaret Doyle in 1950, moved to Albuquerque for her health, and daughter, Mary Clare was born in 1954. He remarried Florence Bentley Griego in 1979. Andy had a successful career for 39 years at Creamland Dairies, rising from home deliveryman to Operations Manager, retired in 1993, but continued as consultant until mid 1998. He often spoke of his work as "going home, rather than to work as Creamland is like family to me." Andy is survived by his wife, Florence; daughter, Mary Clare Rowlands and husband, Glyn of Australia; step-children, Stephen F. Griego, Barbara Regan and husband, Mark, Nick Griego and Mary Jane Bates; step-grandchildren, Tracie Griego, Laura Lei Gosa, and Kaitlyn M. Bates, a special person in his life; brothers, Glen and wife, Luella, Lester and wife, Lucille; sisters, Jeanette Schatzke, Velma Fisher, Harriet Biling; sister-in-law, Loretta Anderson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Andy was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy; his mother, father and brother, Milan. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 1998, 1:00 p.m., at Albuquerque Bible Church, 320 Montano NW. Remembrances may be made to Presbyterian Hospice of Anna Kaseman Hospital, or to a local cancer association. Arrangements by Direct Services, 2919 4th NW, 343-8008.
