Jan and Shary Holmes, residents of Albuquerque since 1943, died Wednesday, June 23, 1999. They are survived by their sons, Steve Holmes and wife, Betsy S. Nichols of Tijeras, Sam Holmes and wife, Paula of Albuquerque, and Shane Holmes of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Celina Holmes and husband, Karl of Albuquerque, Melissa Holmes and Kelsey Holmes, both of Denver, CO; grandson, Casey Holmes; great-granddaughter, Rayana Holmes of Albuquerque; Mrs. Holmes is survived by her father, Doyle Hicks of Albuquerque; mother, Truby Metcalf of Denver, CO; brother, John Hicks of Los Angeles, CA; sisters, Terry Zappa and husband, Tony of Chicago, IL, Carol Glasby and husband, Jim of Denver, CO, and Kay Metcalf of Dallas, TX; Mr. Holmes is survived by his brother, Norris Dean Holmes; sisters, Derlene Allen and husband, Joseph of Akron, OH, and Kay and Fanny Mae Taylor and husband, Jay, Mr. and Mrs. Holmes were members of American Legion Post #13. Mr. Holmes served in the USMC during the Korean Conflict. He had a 25 year career at Sandia National Labs. Mrs. Holmes was a loving and devoted mother. She enjoyed handicrafts and sewing. Mr. and Mrs. Holmes never met anyone they didn't like. Memorial services will be held Monday, 4:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE with Bishop Paul Sowards officiating. Santa Cruz Jojola, 85, passed away Friday, June 25, 1999 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Albuquerque, NM. He was born April 14, 1914 to Daniel and Raquel (Atencio) Jojola in San Marcial, NM. He is preceded in death by his wife, Anna T. (Ramirez) Jojola in 1983. He is survived by his sons, Daniel and wife, Eva of Albuquerque, NM and Henry and wife, Julia of Albuquerque; daughters, Mary Ann Ornelas and husband, Cruz of Albuquerque, and Stella Gutierrez and husband, Jose Heridia of Albuquerque; sisters, Ramona Padilla of Alamogordo, NM, Grace Vallejos and husband, Manuel of Sierra Vista, AZ and Rosela Lukesh of Albuquerque; 16 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. Rosary will be recited Monday, June 28, 1999 at 7:00 p.m. at the San Miguel Catholic Church in Socorro. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, June 29, at 10:00 a.m. at San Miguel with Father Bill Sanchez as Celebrant. Interment will be in the San Miguel Cemetery. Pallbearers are, Dale Jojola, Vincent Gutierrez, John Jojola, Mike Ornelas, Connie Tachias, Manuel Jojola and Evadel Garcia. Ethel Z. Kolodner died June 16, 1999. She was born September 24, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY and lived in Albuquerque for many years, where she was an artist and an architect. She and her colleagues started the first all woman architect firm in New Mexico and designed a number of fire stations that were built around Albuquerque. She is survived by her brother, Allan Zelnick; her two sons, Richard and Paul Kolodner; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Her family is grateful to her many friends, whose company made her very happy. A memorial service is being planned for the near future. Cremation arrangements were made by the Sunrise Society of NM, 891-8200.

John Vincent Meissner-Boyer, infant son of Leonard Boyer and Heidi Meissner of Albuquerque, died Friday, June 25, 1999. Vincent was loved by all who knew him. He is also survived by his grandparents, Karen and Gene Shaw; uncles, Kris, James, and John-Meissner, and Benjamin Boyer; aunt, Lisa Meissner; many "Aunties" and "Uncles" at UNMH Children's Hospital; and many loving family members. Services will be held Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Charlotte Herman Meyer. Mrs. Ben F. Meyer passed away Friday morning, June 25th. She was preceded by her husband, Ben F. Meyer; daughter, Charlene Smith Shrum; brother, Carl Herman and sister, Anna McCollough. She is survived by her son, Thomas A. Meyer of New Orleans, Jane Zerby of Messilla and sister, Sister Carlanne; a sister of Lorreto residing at the mother house in Nerinx Kentucky; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Born July 27th, 1906 in Las Vegas, New Mexico, she is a member of one of northern New Mexico's oldest families, Charlotte was the daughter of Marie Antoinette and Charles Herman and granddaughter of Charles Blanchard and Marguerite Des Marais Blanchard. She was also the great-granddaughter of Michael Des Marais who came from the Province of Quebec to New Mexico in the 1820's and became one of the founders of the city of Las Vegas in 1835, and Dona Deluvina Vigil y Montes de Des Marais, whose home still stands on the plaza of West Las Vegas where as a matriarch of a large family of descendants, Dona Deluvina was almost a legendary figure in the annals of San Miguel County. On October 7, 1925 Charlotte married Mr. Ben F. Meyer of Estancia Valley, also from a pioneer family of New Mexico. Charlotte and Ben lived in Las Vegas, Taos and Santa Fe before settling in Albuquerque where they raised there three children. Charlotte a devout communicant of the Roman Catholic faith, lived with complaint or judgment, only acceptance. Funeral arrangements are pending.

John Z. Our beloved father and grandfather, John Z. Moore Sr., 86, died peacefully on Wednesday, June 23rd, amid the love and thoughts of his family and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Vivian, two years ago, and by his loving son, James H. Moore, who died in 1996. John is survived by his sons, John Z. Moore, Jr. of Albuquerque and most recently of Stringtown, OK and Duane D. Moore, a member of the Information Technology Department for Bernalillo County, and by four grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. John was a loving member of the community and touched the lives of everyone whose path he crossed.
He was a resident of Albuquerque since 1952 and, prior to his retirement was an integral member of the Fedway Department Stores Receiving Department and later owned and operated a chain of award winning "Gasamat" stations throughout the city. Dad, every time we see a bucket of popcorn or a pair of stereo headsets, we will think of you. Friends are invited to a celebration of his life Saturday, June 26, 1999 at 10 AM at Albuquerque Bible Church, 320 Montano Road, NW, between 2nd and 4th Streets. A private memorial service will be held for Carl A. Racine on Sunday, June 27th, with Pastor Bruce Wilder of Faith Lutheran Church officiating. Following the service, there will be a musical tribute presented by Leslie Bihn of Albuquerque, Phil Palermo, Concertmaster of the Indianapolis Symphony, and Lou Vites of Sevierville, Tennessee performing. Mr. Jerry L. Scott, 62, a resident of Albuquerque since 1950 passed away on June 24, 1999. He was preceded in death by his parents, Freeman and Mable Scott; brothers, William A. Scott, A.L. Scott and James D. Scott. Mr. Scott is survived by his sister, Dolores Mullins and family; his brothers, Robert N. Scott and family and Jack C. Scott and family. Visitation will be held Sunday evening June 27, 1999 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Rd SW. Graveside services will be held Monday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924 Menaul Blvd. N.E. with Deacon Harry Beare, officiating. Pallbearers will be his family and friends. Trarell Watson, four months, died Friday, June 25, 1999. He is survived by his parents, Leroy and Darvania Watson of the family home; sisters, Ashley, Victoria, Leandra, Japiera, and Ashanti; brothers, Yorel and Marcus all of the family home; maternal grandmother, Jean Steed of Albuquerque; maternal grandfather, Jerry Jeffery of Albuquerque; paternal grandmother, Marsha L. Watson of Memphis, TN; maternal great-grandfather, Omar Jeffery of Dallas, TX; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Graveside services will be held Monday, at 3:30 p.m., at Fairview Memorial Park, with Pastor Eddie Mirabel officiating. Thomas Ezio Zudick, born Bronx, New York, December 12, 1925, died Albuquerque, June 18, 1999. Served in the United States Navy Pacific Campaign, WWII; graduated UNM and worked at Sandia National Laboratory for 37 years. Tom was a supervisor in the photography division at Sandia Labs and was much beloved by his co-workers. His love of the arts, music, and human creativity led him on a path in life with many dear friends and great spirits. Tom studied photography with Ansel Adams, photographed Laura Gilpin, Edward Weston and other famous New Mexico artists. He was one of the few artists to photograph Georgia O'Keefe in her home. His portrait of John D. Robb appears in "Photography in New Mexico" by Van Deren Coke, and he contributed photo work for "The Art of Raymond Jonson Painter." Thomas was active in a variety of civic and charitable organizations: Founding Member Board of Directors, Rehabilitation Center, Crippled Childrens Association, Volunteer, Suicide Prevention Center Hot Line, and Eucharistic Minister, St. Joseph's Hospital Volunteers. Tom was once called, "Old Faithful ", by a friend. A truer statement cannot be made by those to whom he had given himself. He is survived by his son, Carter G. Zudick; daughters, Claudia Z. Williamson, Regina Z. Earnest, Cynthia W. Zudick; grandsons, Jesse C. Williamson and Wesley T. Williamson; and sisters, Joseph and Alma Lemli of New Jersey; the Venturi Family of Long Island, NY, Peter and Blanche Wakker, and sons of North Carolina. On Monday, June 28, 1999, a public service will be held for friends at St. Charles Borromeo Church at 1818 Coal Pl. SE, Albuquerque. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Santa Fe National Cemetery with honor guard ceremony and bagpipe at the Gazebo. Lawrence Baldonado, 47, a resident of Belen, passed away on June 24, 2000. Mr. Baldonado is survived by his two daughters, Antoinette Baldonado Baca and husband, Ray and Mariana Baldonado; one son, Lawrence Baldonado; the mother of his children, Cathy Baldonado; his parents, Hernandez and Jennie Baldonado; four sisters, Gladys Sanchez and husband, James, Marcella Chavez and husband, Eloy, Evelyn Reyes and Peggy Jaramillo; three brothers, Ernie Baldonado, Joseph Baldonado and Jeffrey Baldonado; two grandsons, Ramon Lawrence and Brandon Lee; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Baldonado was a member of the Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday evening, 7:00 p.m., at the Church of the Ascension, 2150 Raymac SW, with visitation at the church after 6:30 p.m. The Legion of Mary reciting. Martha Bernal passed away on Saturday, June 24, at a local hospital. She was preceded in death by her beloved father and brother, David Sr. and David Jr. Martha is survived by her parents, Joe and Antonia Davalos; one daughter, Yvette Patterson; two sons, Eric and Jason Patterson; and her partner, Kenny Quintana. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Anthony Polacho, Mariah and Erica Armijo, Jason Patterson Jr. and Brianna Velasquez; five sisters, Kathleen, Sondra and husband, Alan, Lorraine and husband, Rueben, Annette and husband, Richard, and Pauline and husband, Arny; one brother, Larry and wife, Judy; and one sister-in-law, Geraldine Bernal. Friends may visit today, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., in the chapel of Alameda Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited this evening at 7:00 p.m. also in the Alameda Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning, 9:00 a.m., at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Reverend Father Gumpal officiating. Eudora Louise Brase died in the arms of her Savior Jesus with firm faith on June 25, 2000. She was born to the Reverend and Mrs. J.H. Hartenberger on August 19, 1909 in Red Bud, Ill. She became the bride of the Reverend Arnold J. Brase in Ft. Wayne, IN, on August 5, 1939. He preceded her in death on September 9, 1992. She is survived by three daughters, Debby and husband, Colonel Joe Pappe, USAF (retired) of Albuquerque, Mary and husband, Paul Greenwald of Boulder, CO, Kathy and husband, Lt. Colonel Erv Robinson, USAF (retired) of Warner Robins, GA; six grandchildren and one great-grandson; a brother, the Reverend Martin J. Hartenberger and wife, Floranna of Albuquerque; and a sister, Mrs. Jane Oelschlaeger of Anaheim, CA, survive Eudora. After graduating from West Texas State University in 1936, she first taught public school in Follett, TX, and then taught 14 years in Roswell, NM at the Washington Avenue School. Eudora served as president of the Oklahoma Lutheran Missinoary League, from 1943-1947. In Roswell, she was president of the American Home Department of the Women's Club, and in 1966 she was elected to the National Education Association convention in New York City. Eudora accompanied her late husband, Arnold as he served as a Lutheran pastor in Woodward, OK from 1936-1943, Perry, OK from 1943-1952, Roswell, NM from 1952 to 1969, and Alva, OK from 1969-1975. Rev. and Mrs. Brase retired to Albuquerque, NM in 1975 and became members of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Both worked weekly for the Albuquerque Retired Senior Volunteer Program at the Storehouse where Eudora was recently recognized for 25-years of service. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 1st at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 210 Alvarado SE with the Pastor JohnHeffelfinger, Pastor Dave Hartenberger and Pastor Martin J. Mr. Faustino Campbell died Sunday in Albuquerque at the age of 75. Mr. Campbell was a member of the DAV. He is survived by his wife, Eva Campbell; son, Arthur Moya; step-sons, Adan Arenivas, Ramiro Arenivas, Noe Arenivas; step-daughters, Yesenia Pena, Lorena Pena, Ivone De La Cruz, Maribel Pena and Eva Edet Pena; brothers, Steve Campbell, Miramon Campbell and Joe Campbell; sister, Flora "Shorty" Abeyta; special grandchildren, Kassandra Uribe, Ted Moya, Roxanne Moya and Andrew Moya. Funeral services for Mr. Campbell will be held on Wednesday at the San Jose Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Arthur Moya, Adan Arenivas, Ramiro Arenivas, Noe Arenivas, Billy Campbell and Tommy Campbell. A Rosary for Mr. Campbell will be recited on Tuesday evening, 7:00 p.m., at Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 Third St. SW.

Marjorie M. Dahm, 73, a resident of Albuquerque since 1986, died June 25, 2000. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.H. Chappelle; husband, Chester J. Dahm; sister, Elma; and brother, Elliott. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Galucki and husband, Edward of Cabot, AR; sons, Barry Dahm of Menomonie, WI and Stanley Dahm and wife, Sue of Hudson, WI; grandsons, Michael and Patrick Galucki, Cale, Allen, Nick and Ian Dahm; granddaughters, Angela Turner, Katie Galucki, Holly, Kara and Kelsey Dahm; two great-grandsons; sister, Gene Gordon and husband, Robert of Houston, TX; and brother, Harold Chappelle of San Antonio, TX. While living in Hudson, WI, Mrs. Dahm worked in St. Paul, MN for 30 years. She was a member of Christ the Ray of Hope Lutheran Church, Albuquerque, ALA #491, Bayport MN and VFWA #401, Albuquerque. She was a faithful and cheerful volunteer at the VA Hospital for many years, making many afghans for the patients. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mission Fund at Christ the Ray of Hope Lutheran Church or to Vista Care Foundation. Her cremains will be interned in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery, MN. Mildred M. Eberling, 89, a resident of Albuquerque since 1972, died Monday, June 26, 2000. She is survived by her sister, Helen E. Alessandrini; and many nieces and nephews. Ms. Eberling worked for First National Bank of Albuquerque, and E.F. Hutton, retiring in 1986. She was a member of St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Church. Mass will be held Wednesday, 9:00 a.m., at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Church, 4020 St. Joseph Pl. NW, with Rev. Frank Prieto, Celebrant. Interment will take place at Madonna Cemetery, Fort Lee, NJ. Alice M. Fackenthall, 92, a resident of Albuquerque since 1951, died Saturday, June 17, 2000. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Col. Warren A. Fackenthall, U.S.A.F., Ret. of the family home; daughters, Rita Schnedar of Albuquerque and Georgia DeWitz and husband, Gary of Des Moines, WA; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Fackenthall was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Forehand; and grandsons, Clifford Schnedar and Timothy Forehand. She was a member of the Catholic Church and worked with the Auxiliary of the Good Shepherd. Elizabeth U. Gardina, 65, passed away June 23, 2000. She devoted her life to her family's happiness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Gardina, March 8, 2000; and brother, Manuel Urban. She is survived by daughter, Lizzette Gardina; grandson, Anthony Barelas; son-in-law, Gilbert Montoya; two brothers, Santiago Urban and wife, Mary, Alferdo Urban Jr. and wife, Lucy; sister-in-law, Mercedes Urban; nieces, nephews, other family and friends who loved and will miss her. A Rosary will be recited at St. Edwins Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 27, 2000. David M. Hare, 52, a resident of Albuquerque for 16 years, died in Texas on June 23. He is survived by his wife, Glee Burns-Hare of 24 years; sons; Blayne and wife, Jelisa, and Austyne Hare, all of Albuquerque; grandson, Kameren; granddaughter, Koryne Hare; father, Roy Hare of Pierce City, MO; brothers; Loyd Hare and wife, Kathy of Lubbock, TX and Richard Hare and wife, Sandi of Garland, TX; and mother-in-law, Mrs. Jerry L Burns of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Hare. David served in the U.S. Army during Viet Nam and was employed at Phillips Semi-Conductor for 15 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Edwin "Eddie" Lowe, 41, ten year resident of Albuquerque, loving father and devoted husband, passed away to be with the Lord on Monday, June 26, 2000. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Linda Lowe of the family home; daughters, Lauren Elizabeth Lowe and Annslee Julia Lowe, both of Albuquerque; parents, Horace Neal and Helen Elizabeth Lowe of Amarillo, TX; and sister, Lisa Reid and husband, Jim of Santa Fe, NM. Eddie was a wonderfully witty and humorous man who was quick with a story or anecdote. Eddie was a published author who wrote "Bear Tales-Humorous Stories of Bears, Bunnies, Bulls and Fun." He was a Captain for Southwest Airlines and a member of the Southwest Airline family and was loved by all. Eddie was an amateur radio operator. He had longtime friends who loved and cherished him. His family will sorely miss him and look forward to the day when they can join him in heaven. Services are pending. French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE.

Mr. Ernest Lucero, 77, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on June 25, 2000. Mr. Lucero is survived by his daughter, Lorraine Rivera; four sisters, Ruth Leal, Margaret Garcia and husband, Donato, Annabelle Brown and husband, Johnny and Reyna Brown and husband, Joe; four brothers, Willie A. Lucero, Reynaldo Lucero, Manuel Lucero and wife, Euphemia and Joe M. Lucero Jr. and wife, Margie; six grandchildren, Javier, Joel, Geraldine, Ingred, Anita and Emily; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Lucero was a member of the Catholic Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army. A Rosary will be recited Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Rd. SW, with visitation after 6:30 p.m. Gabriella Nieto, reciting. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday morning, 9:00 a.m., at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW, with final visitation at the church after 8:30 a.m. Father Manuel Viera, Celebrant. Interment will follow at the San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Daniel Ball, David Saavedra, John Schutt, Johnny Brown Jr., Joe Brown and Alex Garcia. Honorary will be Rigulo Lucero, Chris Brown, Gary Leal, Mario Garcia and Albert Lucero. Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Rd. SW, in charge of the arrangements.

Tony L. Marquez Jr., "Hito ", 24, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on June 24, 2000. Tony is survived by his parents, Tony Marquez Sr. and Gloria; one daughter, Cassandra Marissa Marquez; one son, Fabian Anthony Marquez; fiancee, Renee Chavez; two sisters, Angela Marquez and boyfriend, Fernando Chavez and Susan Marquez; grandparents, Angelina Rivera and Elisa Rio and Epifania Marquez; Goddaughter, Ashlee Chavez; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Johnathan Casias, Joe Chavez, Jessie Martinez, Ray Perea, Albert Romero and Joseph Barela.
