Rudy Martin Castro Jr. In loving memory. Born December 21, 1968, died July 29, 2002. He is survived by his loving family, father, Rudy M. Madge H. Denish, 93, a resident of Albuquerque since 1946, died Thursday, August 1, 2002. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Moyer and husband, Bob; son, Herb Denish and wife, Diane; grandchildren, Mark Moyer and wife, Jennifer, Suzanne Schreiber and husband, Tony, Spencer Schreiber and Sara Schreiber. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Marshall Denish. Madge was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, a Christian and a lifelong Democrat. She will be missed. Services will be held Saturday, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Pastor Steven R. Taylor. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Pallbearers will be Herb Denish, Bob Moyer, Mark Moyer and Bob Daniels. Betty M. Kuhn went to be with the Lord July 31, 2002 surrounded by her husband and sons. Betty was born in Burlington, Iowa on November 1, 1926, daughter of Edna H. McGuire and W.T. McGuire. She is survived by her husband, Ray of Tijeras; son, Steve and wife, Gretchen of Springfield, MO; son, Jim of Tijeras; brother, James T. McGuire of Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Matthew Kuhn and wife, Carol of Denver, Breean Kuhn of Williamsburg, VA and Ian and Peter Kuhn of Springfield, MO. Betty is also survived by niece, Kristie Armstrong of Tulsa, OK and nephew, Bill McGuire of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She is also survived by a great-grandson; Spencer of Denver, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Ruth Colucci. She was a devoted wife and mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Betty spent over 30 years of her life battling the ravages of Multiple Sclerosis. Services will be held Saturday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Edwin Charles Lineberry, a Taos native since the 1930's, was given his angel wings on Sunday, July 28, 2002, five days after his birthday. He is survived by his loving wife, Novella; and his two devoted daughters, Kathy Deubel and husband, Richard of Albuquerque, and Deborah Salazar and husband, Joe of Santa Fe; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Duane VanVechten Lineberry; by parents, William C. Lineberry and Cleopatra DeBolt Lineberry; brother, William C. Lineberry, Jr.; sister, Clarice Jane Lineberry Anderson. Mr. Lineberry was born in Olney Springs, Colorado. The family later moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico where he attended and graduated from Santa Fe High School. After graduation he worked with his father who was a building contractor. Some buildings to his credit include the Telephone Company building in Kansas City, MO., the Masonic Lodge building in Crested Butte, CO., and the dormitories at Adams State College in Alamosa, Co. In 1959, construction began on the Kachina Lodge in Taos, NM. It was completed in 1960. He owned and operated the lodge until October 30, 1980. Mr. Lineberry was one of the founding members of the Taos Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of the Taos Lions Club for 59 years. He was a member of Bent Lodge #42 for 55 years and was a Master Mason. He was also a member of the Ballut Abyad Temple for over 50 years. He also belonged to The Order of the Eastern Star, Valley Chapter #68. Mr. Linberry was a lifelong Republican who once ran for State Treasurer and the Taos Mayor's Office. He served several terms on the New Mexico State Parole Board. For all of his strength he had incredible softness and was generous to special charities including The American Cancer Society, Alzheimer's research, American Parkinson Disease Association, Inc., Easter Seals, Shriner's Crippled Children Hospitals, Carrie Tingley Children's Hospital, Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts of American, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and others too numerous to mention. Having graduated from the New York Institute of Photography, he was an accomplished photographer with an eye for capturing nature's beauty. He was a friend to the early artists of Taos and developed a love and appreciation of their work which led to his most recent accomplishment-the VanVechten Lineberry Taos Art Museum built as a tribute to the late Duane VanVechten Lineberry. He was the "most wonderful husband in the world ", a "fabulous" father, and a "very loving and gentle" grandfather, and loyal friend. He had a special love for his niece, Cindy Parent, who came from Arizona numerous times to help care for him. A special thank you to Joe Bob and Pat Baker of Amarillo, Texas for the many hours spent being loyal and devoted friends always willing to go "the extra mile ". The family thanks the many doctors and medical staff who cared for Mr. Lineberry so many times. A special appreciation is extended to Dr. Michael Kaufman, Taos Medical Center, for many years of exceptional care. A private memorial celebration of the life of Edwin Charles Lineberry will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to one of Mr. Lineberry's special charities. There are no words that can describe how much he will be missed.

Richard J. McSorley, 50, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, July 30, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn M. McSorley; mother, Virginia McSorley Morgan; brothers, Joseph V. McSorley and Cisco McSorley and wife, Joanne; nieces, Eloesa McSorley and Meaghan McSorley, all of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank McSorley; and brother, John N. McSorley. Richard was a 1969 graduate of St. Pius High School and a graduate of UNM. He was a member of Aquinas Newman Center. Richard was very active in choir, was music director at one time and loved to play the bass guitar. He retired from the State of New Mexico Dept. of Labor in 1997. Mass will be celebrated Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at Aquinas Newman Center, 1815 Las Lomas NE, with Father Robert Keller, O.P. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Carlos F. Silva, Jr., 54, a resident of Albuquerque since 1962, died Thursday, August 1, 2002. He is survived by his sons, Gary Silva, Felix Silva, and Leonard Silva; daughter, Denise Silva, all of Albuquerque; brothers, Narsiso Silva and wife, Margaret of Albuquerque, Joe Silva and wife, Melba of Bosque Farms, and Gilbert Silva and wife, Jan of Belen; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Carlos Silva III; father, Carlos Silva, Sr.; mother, Ernestina Silva; and brother, Fred Silva. Rosary will be recited Sunday, August 4, 2002, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE with The Marianites reciting. Geneva Janet (Jan) Stevenson, 61, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, went peacefully to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 13, 2002, at Bellamah House in Albuquerque, following a long and courageous fight with ovarian cancer. Jan will be remembered for her giggle and wonderful smile, and especially for her great faith and trust in her Lord. She is survived by her uncle, Robert and aunt, Nadine Brooks of Ft. Worth, Texas; and her many friends, including those through NASA, DOE, Cancer Support Group, Lovelace Care System, her church, and neighborhood. All are grateful to the staff at Bellamah House and Lovelace Hospice who helped make her last days the best possible. A Memorial Service will be held at Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 8600 Academy, NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Monday, August 5, 2002, at 6:30 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held in Fort Smith, Arkansas, at Forest Park Cemetery, 5001 Midland Boulevard, on Saturday, September 7, 2002, at 3:00 p.m. If desired, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church. VERDA R. BENTLEY, 92, died Thursday. She was born Aug. 6, 1909, in Lawton, Okla., and was a resident of Santa Fe for more than 60 years. For the past 10 years she has been a resident of the Montebello in Albuquerque. She was also a member of St. John's United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter J. Bentley. She is survived by her daughter, Katherine Stefanides and husband Norden of Albuquerque; sons, Fred R. Bentley of Las Vegas, Nev., and Walter D. Bentley and wife Joann of Sun City, Calif.; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. RUTH MICHELLE DELGADO, 21, of Las Vegas, N.M., died Thursday. She was born in Searcy, Ark. on Dec. 16, 1980, to Douglas Dwyane Martin Jr. and Dolores Teresa Delgado. A lifelong Catholic, she attended Our Lady of Sorrows Church. She is survived by her son, Angel Encinias of Las Vegas, N.M.; mother, Dolores T. Delgado and husband Roberto Mendez of La Cueva; maternal grandparents, Hilario and Eufemia Delgado of Las Vegas, N.M.; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends. Rosary devotional services will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at Rogers Chapel. Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. ELOY GONZALES, 71, of El Prado, died Thursday. He owned and operated El Prado Auto Repair. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nazario and Carmen Gonzales, and brother, Juan I. Gonzales. He is survived by his wife, Juanita Gonzales; children, Erlinda Padilla (Bialquin), Steve Gonzales (Martha), and Carmen Driskell (Jamie); five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Ernesto Gonzales (Edna), Simon Gonzales (Rosalie), Telesfor Gonzales (Carmen), Lee Gonzales (Adela); sisters, Teddy Martinez (Alfonso), Alice Romero (Arturo), Dolores Rael (Joseph), Patsy Gonzales, JoAnn Trujillo (Leroy); and many other relatives. REUBEN J. HESCH, 89, of Santa Fe, died Thursday peacefully at home in the presence of many of his children. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernadine; sons, Paul and Joseph Dea Hesch; brothers, William and Louis Hesch; and sister Theresa Pint. He is survived by daughters, Lauren Rimbert of Albuquerque, Susanna Hesch, Regina Hesch, and Marg Anne Hesch-Glasser and her husband Alan, all of Santa Fe; sons James Hesch, Vincent Hesch and his wife Diana of Santa Fe, Gerard Hesch of Las Vegas, Nev., Thomas Hesch and his wife Nancy of Albuquerque, and Marcel Hesch, also of Albuquerque; brother Earl Hesch of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; brother-in-law Raymond Pint; 18 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. JUANITA R. MARTINEZ, 63, of Questa, died Thursday at home with her family around her. She was the owner of her own business. She was a member of St. Anthony's Church in Questa, where she once was a member of the Guadalupanas and is a member of the friendship circle. She was preceded in death by her son, Marion Martinez; father, Maxwell Martinez; brother, Fernando Maxwell Martinez; sister-in-law, Priscilla Veo; nephew, Keith Veo; father-in-law, Otoniel Martinez; and mother-in-law, Esther Martinez. She is survived by her husband, Romulo; mother, Katie G. Martinez; daughter, Dianah Duran; sons, Joseph Michael Martinez Sr. and wife Cecilia, Jose Manuel Martinez; daughters, Mary Marbella Martinez and David Leon, Yolanda K. Edumenia M. Aragon, age 53, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, companion and friend was welcomed into the arms of the Lord our Savior, July 30, 2003. Edumenia was a life long resident of Cuba. She was preceded in death by her parents, Basilio and Pumucena Aragon and Jose and Edumenia Montoya; a brother, Nick Montoya. Edumenia is survived by her companion of seven years, Ildefonso (Poncho) Ruiz; two daughters, Norma and Yolanda Valdez both of Las Vegas, NM; her granddaughters, Dominique, Randee, La Rae, Merikka Crespin, MaKayla and Mya Valdez, and Lea Bustos; brothers, Celedonio Aragon and wife Dorrella, Flaviano Aragon and wife Drucy, Benancio Aragon and wife Beverly, Fidencio Aragon and wife Julia, Merced Aragon and wife Dee Dee, Fred Aragon and wife Lucy, Feliciano Montoya, Daniel Montoya and Leroy Montoya; sisters, Carmen Montenegro, Emma Garcia, Eufircina Zaplin, Perfectita Chavez and Gloria Montoya. Arturo T. Baca passed away July 30, 2003. He was born August 12, 1920 in Pueblitos, New Mexico. He was raised in Pueblitos, and was a resident of Albuquerque. Arturo was a preceded in death by his wife Clara L. Baca and he is survived by his daughter Melinda Baca; sons, Delfino Sandoval and wife Maxine, Arthur Baca, and Anthony Baca; grandchildren, Johanna Rael and husband Zachary, Darius Baca and wife Cindy, and Destiny Baca; great grandchildren, Lichelle, Diego, Santiago, and Helene; sisters, Pauline, Mary Ann, Sophia, and Mary Lou; brother Joe; many nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. Arturo served in the US Army during WWII, in the European Theater, and was a continuous member of the American Legion, Post 13, for 32 years. Lynn M. Baklini died on July 27, 2003 at the age of 46 after a long battle with breast cancer. She was a native of New Mexico, a mother of three, and spent all but ten years of her life in Albuquerque. Lynn loved to swim, play tennis, and spend time with her children. She is survived by her husband, Bob; and her three children, Amy, Sean, and Susan.

Ira Lee "Pete" Blankenship, Sr., passed away on July 31, 2003 after a lengthy illness. Pete was born April 12, 1928, in Seymour, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Dee and Claudia Blankenship and brother, D.L. Blankenship. Survivors include wife, Priscilla; sons, Ira Lee Blankenship II of Albany, OR and James Griego of Albuquerque, NM; brothers, Glynn Blankenship of Kemp TX, Bill Blankenship of Haskell, TX, and Jim Blankenship of Gainesville, TX. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Amy Lynn and Ira Lee Blankenship III, and Lynda, Luceya and James Griego, Jr. Pete was a World War II Navy veteran, a ham radio operator and a volunteer at the local VA Hospital. Leonor B. Cabrera, 83, a life long resident of Albuquerque passed away on July 31, 2003. She has gone to join our Lord after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. She was preceded in death by her grandson Billy Montoya, son of Cathy and Willie Montoya. Leonor is survived by her loving husband of 58 years Felix G. Cabrera; a daughter Cathy Montoya and her husband Willie and their son Chris Montoya all of San Bernardino, CA; a son John Felix Cabrera and his wife Lila May; a granddaughter Celina Caso and her husband Jose; and a great granddaughter Cheyenne Montoya daughter of Celina. Leonor will be greatly missed by her loving family. Visitations will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. Clarence E. "Buster" Campbell, LTC, U.S.A.R., 81, a resident of Bosque Farms and Albuquerque for 31 years, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2003. He is survived by his beloved wife, Beth; daughter, Lori Campbell of Bosque Farms; sons, Richard Campbell of Honolulu, HI and Robert Campbell of Sparks, NV; granddaughters, Tina, Wendi and Michelle Campbell; grandsons, Mike and Robbie Campbell; and sisters, Virginia Clarke of Peshastin, WA and Betty Fortune of Cashmere, WA. Born in Leavenworth, WA he grew up with a passion for skiing. He was an avid ski jumper as well as cross country skier and competed in many events and races throughout the country and qualified for the 1948 Winter Olympics in ski jumping. He also enjoyed playing tennis and swimming. He served in World War II with the 10th Mountain Division in Kiska, Aleutian Islands and Northern Italy. He was discharged from active duty in 1945 and retired from U.S.A.R. in 1982 at Kirtland Air Force Base. His work as a Contract Specialist with the private sector and in Civil Service with the U.S. Air Force, took him overseas to Vietnam and Saudi Arabia until his retirement in 1985. He enjoyed living in the Bosque Farms Community and was active in the local affairs. He always had a story to tell and enjoyed visiting with old friends and new alike....always there to lend a helping hand. He will truly be missed and remembered by all those whose lives he touched. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held Saturday, August 9, 2003, at 3:30 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. NE. Interment of cremains will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
