Mr. David Allen Carrillo age 41 passed away unexpectedly Friday. David was born in Alb. to Phillip Carrillo and Margaret Vigil. He is survived by his wife Geraldine Carrillo, mother Margaret, sons Eric Carrillo and Phillip Carrillo, daughter Felicia Carrillo, brothers Michael, Dennis and Paul Carrillo, sisters Deborah Carrillo and Eleanor Benavides. Rosary services will be held on Tuesday at 7pm at Salazar and Sons Mortuary 400 Third Street. Memorial Services will be held Wednesday at 1:30pm at Immaculate Conception Church 619 Copper Ave. Arrangements by:

Franklin Oscar Carroll, age 80, a resident of Albuquerque, NM, since 1963, died from complications from surgery at 3:53PM on August 1, 2003. He is preceded in death by his wives Mary Blaine-Carroll and Betty LaVern Carroll, both of Albuquerque. He is survived by a son, Franklin Otis Carroll and his wife, Audrey Suzanne Ayers, both of Custer, SD; a daughter, Sylvia Kathleen Carroll Hays and her husband, Samuel Bradley Hayes of Los Lunas, NM; grandchildren Jessica Suzanne Carroll Storey, Merri Kathleen Carroll Moore and Lauren Mae Carroll, and Jacob Samuel Franklin Hays and Tyler Ezekiel Bradley Hays; and five great grandchildren. His brother, Patrick Colin Carroll, lives in Denver, Colorado. Mr. Carroll was born in Dayton, OH on November 4, 1922 to Franklin Otis and Clara Kathleen Carney Carroll. His father, a Major General in the U.S. Army Air Corps and Chief Engineer of the AAF in WWII, moved the family frequently, where the Carroll children got their love of travel and of visiting new and unusual places. Carroll attended schools in Dayton, OH, the Panama Canal Zone, R.P.; Fairborn, OH; Montgomery, AL; Santa Monica, CA; and back to Fairborn. In 1942-43, he attended Ohio State University at Columbus, OH to study engineering. While at Ohio State, Carroll enlisted in the Enlisted Reserve Corps and on September 19, 1943, was called to the colors. Carroll went on to attend the USAAF Officer Candidate School at Miami Beach, FL where in early 1944 he was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Army Air Corps. Carroll served in the Air Transport Command and the 11th Air Force. On January 9, 1945, First Lieut. Carroll married Betty LaVern Martin at Winslow, AZ. After the war, Carroll joined the USAAF and USAF Reserve, in which he served until 1958. In 1947, Carroll attended Farragut College in Idaho and that Fall he and Betty went to Fairbanks, AK to attend the University there. In 1948, they returned to the States and attended the University of Washington at Seattle, where he graduated in 1951, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Management. Carroll joined the U.S. Forest Service in June 1951, and served as a Forest Ranger and in other capacities until he retired after 32 years of military and public service. His last post was as assistant director of the Aviation and Fire Management division in Albuquerque. Carroll later served as a consulting forester to the Mexican Forest Service in Chihuahua and Durango States. He was a Fellow of the Society of American Foresters and served as an officer in the Southwestern Section of the SAF, and was an honary member of the Associacion Mexicana Professionales Forestales. Carroll met Mary Hidding Blaine of Albuquerque in 1979 and they lived in Albuquerque until her death in 2001. Carroll is also survived by Mary Blaine's three daughters; Mary Ellen Burns Boyett Gonzales, Patricia Ann Burns Glenn Hickam, Regina Kathryn Blaine Allen, and their children Laura Joan Boyett, Walter Paul Boyett, (TD) Thomas Donald Gonzales, Ann Chamaigne Glenn Scamman, Emily Elizabeth Scamman, Spencer James Scamman and Shannon Thomas Glenn. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. A memorial service will be held on Wed., August 6, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Sunrise Funeral Options. Mikel Anthony Chavez, 42, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away at home surrounded by his family on July 31, 2003. Mikel was a beloved son and brother, uncle and friend. He was a special person with a big heart and was loved by everyone. He will be greatly missed. Mikel is survived by his mother, Mary Helen Chavez of Albuquerque; one brother, Christopher Chavez and wife, Julie of Albuquerque; six sisters, Anna Trujillo and husband, Larry, Liz Ortega and husband, Carlos, Cathy Madrid and husband, Joe, Mary Lou Garcia and husband, John, Sylvia Chavez, and Pam Baca and husband, Leonard all of Albuquerque. He is also survived by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alvaro P. Moraga and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Eliseo Chavez and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Chavez and Mr. and Mrs. Tony R. Baca. Mikel was a member of the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce and was most recently employed at Blondie's Hair Salon. He was also previously employed at Le Parque Salon, Classique Salon, Sara's on the Promenade and Enzo's Hair Salon. Memorial rosary will be recited on Sunday at 6:00 p.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church with Mr. and Mrs. Henry J. Sanchez, reciting. Memorial mass will be celebrated on Monday at 9:00 a.m. also at the church with Father Frank Prieto, celebrant. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Trujillo, Mark Saiz, Jimmy Rodriguez, Dave Garcia, Kenny Chavez and Ronnie Chavez. Joe L. Cisneros, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Grants, New Mexico. Joe was born November 3, 1954. He was preceded in death by his father, Jose Cisneros. Joe is survived by his three children, Erik, Damian, and Jessica of the family home; his fiancee Sue Soto and her daughter, Melissa, of Albuquerque. Donald "Don" Dalton, 81, a resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, July 31, 2003. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Alvina Dalton; son, Hugo L. Torres and wife, Dora; daughter, Theresa Garcia and husband, Larry; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; brother, Gordon Dalton and wife, Margaret; sister, Elizabeth Ann Embry; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. William and Minnie Dalton; brother, Rodney J. Dalton; and son, Arnold Torres. Donald served in the Army during WWII and received his business administration degree from Lafayette University. He worked at Shell Oil Company as an operations director and then retired from Goodwill Industries as operations director. Edward A. Dowling III, 57, of Edgewood, died on July 31, 2003 at his residence in Edgewood. Edward was born on August 23, 1945 in Plainfield, New Jersey to Edward A. Dowling Jr. and Veronica Rita (Moran) Dowling who have preceded him in death. Edward married Mary Agnes O'Shea on August 26, 1967 in Yonkers, New York. Edward and his wife moved to Edgewood two years ago from Long Island, New York, because of his love for this area. Edward was a Civil Engineer for various private consulting firms and held the rank of Major in the Corps of Engineers, United States Army Reserve. He was an avid Military Historian and loved teaching living history as a volunteer at our National Parks. Visitation for Edward will be from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a Vigil Service at 7:00 PM at St. Elizabeth's Seton Catholic Church in Edgewood, just north of IH-40 on highway #344. Mass of the Resurrection will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 5, 2003, also in Edgewood. Burial will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery with a 1:30 PM scheduled time. Robert Burns Dralle, 82, a resident of Albuquerque for 30 years, died Thursday, July 31, 2003. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Marjorie, of Albuquerque; daughter Nancy and husband, Merle Elson of Ridgecrest, CA; son Kevin and wife, Johanna Dralle of Corrales; grandchildren, Troy Finton of Cincinnati, OH, and Caitlin and Ryan Dralle of Corrales; sister, Peggy Irene Carlson of Bismarck, ND; brother-in-law, Wallace and wife, Eleanor Bailey of Leadville, CO and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters, and two brothers-in-law. Mr. Dralle was born to Marshall and Florence Dralle on November 24, 1920, in Brittin, North Dakota, He was a WWII veteran in the U.S. Army and a POW in Germany. His military career spanned 20 years, he retired as a Major at Ft. Bliss, Texas, in 1961. Bob Dralle spent many years in automobile, truck and RV sales in El Paso and Albuquerque. He was an avid fisherman and gardener. He traveled extensively with his wife, family and friends and will be missed by many dear friends, and his dog, Beau. Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, August 6, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. Woodrow Wilson Fox, 83, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2003. Woodrow was originally from Charlotte, North Carolina. He worked for Valley Gold and Creamland Dairies as well as the Coca Cola Bottling Co; he retired from Lobo Western Trucking. Woodrow was an avid gardener. He is survived by his wife Ernestine of the family home; daughters, Gloria Ann Hawker of Albuquerque, Linda R. E. Casanova of Tijeras; son, Don W. Fox of Victorville, CA; brothers, Robert Lee Fox of Kannapolis, NC, Wade H. Fox of Charlotte, NC; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The Visitation for Woodrow will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2003 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. Mr. Frank N. Gurule passed away unexpectedly with his wife of 62 years. Frank was 81 years old and was born on April 2,1922. He was preceded in death by his son, Raymond; and daughter Victoria; father and mother, Nicholas T. and Guadalupe Gurule; sisters, Christine Baca and Delia Garcia; brothers, Patricio Lucero, Johnnie Gurule, Epifano Gurule and Luciano Gurule. He is survived by his wife, Rochelle Gurule; sisters, Rosemary and husband, Serafin Garcia, Daisy Romero, Dulcie and Raymond Silvas, and Annie Garcia all of Albuquerque, sister-in-law, Victoria Sandeval from California; brother-in-law, Eddie Garcia, many nieces, nephews cousins and friends who will miss him immensely. He was a parishioner of Queen of Heaven Church for 49 years. He was a Eucharist minister and usher. He served 4,750 hours of volunteer work for Veterans Hospital. He was a lifetime member of V.F.W., Purple Heart Club, American Legion Post 69, DAV Ch. 3 and retired from Sandia Labs, after 40 years. He was a veteran of W.W.II, a recipient of the Purple Heart on May 30, 2003, Honorable Discharge 12-15-45. He had fife battle stars, American Campaign medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign, Efficiency Honor Fidelity, Over Land Utah Omaha Gold Juno Sward 1944, award from the city of Antwerp Oct. 7, 1944- March 30, 1945. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. where the Mass will be celebrated at the Queen of Heaven Church. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Albert Garcia, Raymond Silvas, Luis Marques, Serafin Garcia, Orlando Gomez, and Michael Nuanes. Rosary Service will be held Monday at 5:00 p.m. at the Salazar & Sons Mortuary and Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at the Queen of Heaven Church. Ms. Andrea L. Gutierrez, 19, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on August 1, 2003 and is now one of God's Angels in Heaven. Andrea is the beloved daughter to Mrs. Rosie Gutierrez and is also survived by three sisters, Melissa Gutierrez, Consuelo Rascon and husband, Leroy, Antoinette Marquez and husband, Leon; a very special loved one, Ernest Gabaldon; grandparents, Rudy and Theresa Martinez and Ray E. Gutierrez Sr.; an uncle, Dusty Gutierrez and wife, MaryLou; one niece, Desiree Ramirez and one nephew, DavidRey Marquez; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Andrea was preceded in death by her father, Epifanio Ray Gutierrez Jr. Andrea was a member of the Catholic Church and a student at Valley High School. Melvin Helander, formerly a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away in Scottsdale, Arizona, April 28, 2003. Melvin Helander was born in Carbonado, Washington. His parents immigrated from Finland in their early twenties and settled in the Seattle, Washington area. Melvin graduated from Washington State University with a degree in Forestry. He began his career with the Department of Interior and retired as Assistant Area Director in 1969. He spent three years working for the Department of State stationed in Tripoli, Libya, North Africa. He was one of three men responsible for setting up a foreign aid program in Libya in 1952. He served as a Lieutenant in Naval Intelligence during World War II and was on the Destroyer S.S. Grant which was in the battle of Leyte Gulf, one of the most signifigant naval battles during World War II. Melvin's life was rich with many friends and family. He searched for relatives in Finland where he discovered aunts, uncles, and many cousins. Having traveled extensively throughout the world, he enjoyed reading of world affairs and current events. Melvin was married to Doris McCurtain and they celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary, August, 2002. She passed away October 7, 2002. A joint Memorial Service was held for Doris and Melvin in Scottsdale. Survivors are two daughters, Claire Duren of Portland, Oregon and Betty Hammonds of Anthem, Arizona; five grandchildren; and ten great- grandchildren.

Christopher Alan Hensler, 20, who was a resident of Albuquerque for 20 years, died suddenly as a result of an accident in Santa Rosa, CA, July 24, 2003. Chris is survived by his beloved parents, Tawn Head of Albuquerque and Arland Hensler of Pacifica, CA. Surviving grandparents include Eileen and Tom Head, Wathenia Thomas, Barbara and Jim Enoch, Sonja and Robert Hensler. Other survivors include numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was active throughout his childhood in the Tiger Cubs, Webelos and Boy Scouts and spent several years in Little League. As he grew, he became interested in music and was in performance guitar at Manzano High School where he graduated in 2001. Chris developed a fondness for the outdoors; he spent much of his free time in the mountains or at the ocean or beach. He wrote music and poems as a way to express his feelings of the world. He was an avid player of "Magic the Gathering" game and enjoyed playing video games with his friends. On July 31, 2003 at Cloudview City Park, Chris' closest friends held a beautiful Memorial in his name. Services will also be held on Monday, August 4, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Church of Religious Science, 3320 San Pedro NE.

Jose "Randy" Hurtado was born March 9, 1932 and passed away July 28, 2003. Randy loved baseball and took pride in sponsoring the original Wolfpack. Randy is survived by his wife Christine; son Joseph; sisters, Sophia and husband Tony Chavez, Josephine and husband Jesse Bernal, Viola and husband, Mario Garcia; Randy is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A viewing and services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo. A Viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, August 4, 2003, followed by the Rosary to be recited at 10:00 a.m., finalized by the Funeral Mass being celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Odyssey Hospice for their care and support. Pallbearers will be Robert Bernal, Errol Chavez, Mark Lopez, Andy Sanchez, Luis Sena, Alfred Torres, and David Sanchez. Stan Huston, 49, a resident of Albuquerque, entered the presence of God, his Creator on July 30, 2003, after a two-year battle with leukemia. Beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, Stan was a man of integrity and faith at home and in his profession. He approached all of life with a creative and inventive nature. Stan's dedication and passion for whatever task at hand - as a Rammed Earth contractor, or serving his church and community - was infectious, bettering all that had the privilege of knowing him. His sense of humor often caught those unfamiliar by pleasant surprise. While we mourn his absence, we celebrate his victory over death through faith in Jesus Christ. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Cheryl Beaty Huston of Edgewood; children, Shiloh and Chandler of Moriarty; mother, Mary of Edgewood; sisters, Dodie Miller and husband, Larry of Capitan and Lucinda Williams and husband, David of Istanbul, Turkey.
