Bob Story

Born: July 07, 1944
Died: October 29, 2014

Bob Story, age 70, died Wednesday, October 29, 2014 in Clayton, New Mexico.

Cremation has taken place and Bob's family will have services at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Bob Story was born on July 7, 1944 in Kannapolis, North Carolina to Edward Story and Lela (Duncan) Story. He married Donna (Cowan) Story on October 26, 1983 in Dumas, Texas. Bob drove a truck for a living most of his life as an owner operator. He loved his family and Nascar. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, a son; B. J. Story and a sister; Jan Fischer.

WIFE: Donna Story of Texline, Texas.

3 DAUGHTERS: Trinidy Podzemny of Texline, Texas, Jennifer Todd of Klamath Falls, Oregon and Lela Seavey and her husband Brian of Amarillo, Texas.

2 SONS: Pat Dodson and his wife Jessica of Texline, Texas and Bobby Story, III and his wife Amber of Clayton, New Mexico.

15 grandchildren

1 BROTHER: Max Story and his wife Evelyn of Kannapolis, North Carolina.

3 SISTERS: June Hudson and her husband Bill of China Grove, North Carolina, Linda Absher and her husband Ralph of Harmony, North Carolina and Mary Jo Keller and her husband Ralph of Salisbury, North Carolina.

Macario "Max" Sanchez

Born: July 02, 1935
Died: November 13, 2014

U.S. VeteranMacario Salamon “Max” Sanchez, age 79, died Thursday, November 13, 2014, in Clayton, New Mexico.

Rosary was recited at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 16 by Deacon P. Louis Montoya and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 17 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton, New Mexico. Fr. Joel Bugas will be the Celebrant. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Parish Hall following funeral services. Burial procession will leave Clayton at 1:00 p.m. for Internment at the Ojo Bonito Cemetery on the Barney Ranch west of Clayton. Arrangements are by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.

Macario Salamon “Max” Sanchez was born on July 2, 1935 in Barney, New Mexico to Macario Damian Sanchez and Maria Inez (Martinez) Sanchez. Max was born and raised in the Barney community and lived their all of his life until he retired and moved into Clayton just a few years ago. He served in the US Army for a few years and then returned to Barney where he served on numerous boards in Union County throughout his life and he was voted Union County Pioneer in 2007. Max married Joyce A. (Montoya) Sanchez on September 15, 1962 in Santa Fe, New Mexico and she preceded him in death on June 21, 2009. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. In addition to his parents and wife, Max was preceded in death by a brother, Damian Sanchez and a brother-in-law, Valentine Miera.

2 DAUGHTERS: Stephanie Sanchez and Dawn of Austin, Texas and Dolores Marquez and Ken of Alamosa, Colorado.

1 SON: Michael Sanchez of Mosquero, New Mexico.

6 GRANDCHILDREN: Samantha Sanchez of Denver, Colorado, Michaelena Garcia and Juan of Longmont, Colorado, Katina Sanchez of Clovis, New Mexico, Alexandria Marquez of Las Vegas, Nevada, Kendra Marquez of Durango, Colorado and Garrett Marquez of Ft. Collins, Colorado.

2 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Adian and Xavier Garcia of Longmont, Colorado.

3 SISTERS: Irene Miera of Beenham, New Mexico, Fidelia Taylor and Jimmy of Clayton, New Mexico and Frances Robbins of Westminster, Colorado.

1 BROTHER: Silviano Sanchez of Aztec, New Mexico.

And many nephews and nieces and dear friends

MEMORIALS: Memorials may be made in Max’s memory to the Union County General Hospital, 300 Wilson St. Clayton, NM 88415 or to the Clayton High School Reunion Association care of Ilene Taylor at 14 Mountain View Road, Clayton, New Mexico 884145.

James Albert Dorsey, Jr.

Born: September 22, 1957
Died: December 10, 2004

James Albert Dorsey, Jr. age 47, died Friday, December 10, 2004, in Amarillo, Texas.

Funeral services were at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 14, at the Don R. Wood Auditorium, Clayton, New Mexico, with Rev. Terrell Jones, pastor of Clayton Trinity Fellowship Church officiating. Burial was in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.

James Albert Dorsey, Jr. was born on September 22, 1957, in Atchison, Kansas, to James Albert Dorsey and Winnie Rose (Johnson) Dorsey. He attended school in Clayton and Phoenix, and entered the United States Army in 1975. James completed high school and continued his education while in the Army. During his military career he spent 12 years in Germany. Following his discharge in 1989, he returned to Germany where he lived until 1994. James lived in Arizona, Hawaii, and Arkansas, before he returned to make his home in Clayton in 2002. James married Ruby Gonzales on August 27, 2002, in Clayton, NM. A truck driver for Werner Enterprises and Dollar General, James was a member of the Trinity Fellowship Church in Clayton.

WIFE: Ruby Dorsey-Gonzales of Clayton, NM.

2 DAUGHTERS: Liberty Raine Olivas of Clayton, NM and Sabina Dorsey of Aschaffenburg, Germany.

2 SONS: Chris Dorsey and Daniel Dorsey both of Aschaffenburg, Germany.

His Father and Step-Mother: Jim and Kathy Dorsey of Phoenix, Arizona.

His Mother and Step-Father: Winnie and Glen Lear of Greenville, Kentucky.

2 BROTHERS: Billy Sinclair of Dalhart, TX and John Dorsey of Phoenix, Arizona.

4 SISTERS: Debbie McElroy of Cleton, KY; Angie Whittington of Russelville,KY; Colleen Dorsey and Melinda Dorsey both of Phoenix, Arizona.

Richard Lambert Pruett

Born: December 27, 1942
Died: September 16, 2014

Richard Lambert Pruett, age 71, died Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at his home in Aztec, New Mexico.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the Clayton Memorial Cemetery in Clayton, New Mexico. Services are under the direction of Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Richard Lambert Pruett was born on December 27, 1942 in Clayton, New Mexico to Richard Edward Lambert and Minnie Lois (Crist) Lambert. Richard worked for Halliburton for a long time and had his own welding business. He also worked in the oil fields in Wyoming and New Mexico and retired in Farmington where he was enjoying his horses and chickens and all of his hunting and fishing. Richard was preceded in death by his father on June 30, 1983.

2 SONS: Richard Lambert and his wife Debbie of Farmington, New Mexico and Kenneth Lambert of Bloomfield, New Mexico.

2 GRANDCHILDREN: Zack Lambert and Ricci Lambert both of Farmington, New Mexico.

MOTHER: Minnie Lois Lambert of Clayton, New Mexico.

1 BROTHER: Thomas Lambert and his wife Sherry of Clayton, New Mexico.

Eugene H. Case

Born: January 18, 1931
Died: October 07, 2014

U.S. VeteranEugene H. Case, age 83, died Tuesday, October 7, 2014 in La Junta, Colorado.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the Mills Cemetery in Mills, New Mexico with Rev. Billy Rammage officiating. Viewing will be at 10:30 AM before the service at the Mills Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Eugene H. Case was born on January 18, 1931 in Mills, New Mexico to Earl R. Case and Opal M. (Burton) Case. He went to elementary school in Mills, New Mexico and graduated from high school in 1950 from Roy. Gene served two years in the U.S. Army in the Korean Conflict. He went to Barber School on the G. I. Bill and barbered in Farmington, New Mexico until the late 1960's when he moved back home to Mills, New Mexico to help his dad farm and ranch. Gene also ran the mail route from the Mills Post Office for 28 years retiring in 2010. Gene was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Opal Case, 1 sister; Pearl, 3 brothers; Bill, Ervin and Howard, 2 nephews; Weldon and Melvin Beard, 1 niece, Lena Lee Case, 1 brother-in-law; Fred Beard, 1 sister-in-law; Kay Case Hillock, 2 newborn infants Bella Pearl Beard and Casey Gale Everett. He is survived by his sister Grace Beard who resides in La Junta, Colorado, 2 sisters-in-law; Elaine Case of Seattle, Washington and Ruth Case of Nucla, Colorado. Gene was blessed with 11 nieces and nephews, numerous great-nieces and great-nephews and numerous great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. Gene never married but enjoyed the peacefulness of the canyons and the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and his family. He was known to his family as “Uncle Gene”. Gene played life forward and left some mighty big shoes to fill.

Robert L. Hough

Born: October 16, 1930
Died: November 03, 2014

Robert Hough, age 84, died Monday, November 3, 2014 in Vici, Oklahoma.

Visitation was held on Thursday, November 6, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Billings Funeral Home in Woodward, Oklahoma. Graveside Services were held at 1:30 PM Central Time on Friday, November 7, 2014 at the Texline Cemetery in Texline, Texas by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Robert L. Hough was born on October 16, 1930 in Clayton, New Mexico to William Roy Hough and Ethel Mae (McGowan) Hough. He was reared in Texline, Texas and graduated from Clayton High School. He was united in marriage to Juanita Marie (Hampton) Hough on November 12, 1950 in Clayton, New Mexico. Robert was inducted into the United States Air Force on January 8, 1951 and served his country as a Sergeant until being honorably discharged on January 7, 1955. He was in the Oil and Gas industry for more than 30 years and owned and operated Hough Oilfield Service in Liberal, Kansas and he also worked for several independent oil and gas companies including ONEOK. The family lived in Woodward from 1977 until 2009. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Juanita in 2010 and a son Robert Michael Hough in 2006.

1 SON: Danny Hough of Fairland, Oklahoma.

2 DAUGHTERS: Debra Newby of Houston, Texas and Deanna Hough of Vici, Oklahoma.

1 SISTER: Mickey Durbin of Liberal, Kansas.

9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

And many other relatives and friends.

Charlie R. Owen

Born: October 15, 1936
Died: November 10, 2014

Charlie Owen, age 78, died Monday, November 10, 2014 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Visitation was held on Thursday, November 13, 2014 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Mountain Time at Hass Funeral Home in Clayton, New Mexico. Funeral Services were held at 10:30 AM Central Time on Friday, November 14, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Texline, Texas with Rev. Billy Rammage officiating. Burial followed in the Texline Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton.

Charlie R. Owen was born on October 15, 1936 in Lark, Oklahoma to William Randolph Owen and Lucille E. (Kidd) Owen. He married Carolyn Rochelle (Campbell) Owen on June 29, 1956 in Aiken, Texas and she preceded him in death on December 2, 1990. Charlie later married Gail (Harrison) Owen on July 14, 1996 in Clayton, New Mexico. Charlie owned O & L Trucking for a number of years and also worked for Poole Chemical in Texline for 25 years until he retired. After retirement they stayed in Texline and traveled in their Motorhome for 5 years then purchased a 5th wheel and became full time travelers. Charlie enjoyed fishing and especially enjoyed Lake Livingston where he could always be found fishing with his friends. In addition to his parents and first wife Charlie was preceded in death by a brother Robert Loy Owen and sister Ruthie Janet Owen.

WIFE: Gail Owen of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

1 DAUGHTER: Edie Wyn and her husband Richard of Castle Rock, Colorado.

3 GRANDSONS: Zachary Wyn, Jason Wyn and Jared Wyn all of Castle Rock, Colorado.

1 STEP-DAUGHTER: Kristina Salzmann of Canyon City, Colorado.

1 STEP-SON: Dennis Salzmann and his wife Polly of Utah.

5 STEP-GRANDCHILDREN: Angela Salzmann, Ryan Salzmann, Samantha Salzmann, Matthew Salzmann and Gabriel Salzmann.

4 BROTHERS: William Ray Owen of Oregon, Raymond Lloyd Owen of Willis, Texas, Donnie Dwayne Owen of Spring, Texas and Ronald Dean Owen of Dallas, Texas.

And numerous nieces and nephews.

Margaret Emery

Born: July 18, 1926
Died: November 11, 2014

Margaret Emery, age 88, died Tuesday, November 11, 2014 in Clayton, New Mexico.

Funeral Services were held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Rev. Robert Hunt, pastor officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

Margaret Frances (Higley) Emery was born on July 18, 1926 in Effingham, Kansas to Newell Clifford Higley and Nellie Mable (Leland) Higley. Margaret married William Lewis “Bill” Emery on July 20, 1947 in Denver, Colorado and he preceded her in death on June 4, 1993. They moved to Union County in 1955 and ranched near Mt. Dora until moving to Clayton in 1963. Margaret worked in the medical records department of the hospital for a few years and then worked as a secretary at the First National Bank of New Mexico in Clayton for several years before being elected as County Clerk where she worked until she retired. In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret was preceded in death by a son; Billy Matt Emery and 2 brothers; Raymond Clifford Higley and Russell Dale Higley.

SURVIVORS:

1 SON: Robert “Bob” Emery and his wife Phyllis of Clayton, New Mexico.

1 DAUGHTER: Mary Alice Lane and her husband Charlie of Dimmitt, Texas.

2 SISTERS: Doris Sutton and her husband F.J. of Atchison, Kansas and Bettie Miller of Pensacola, Florida.

1 BROTHER: Ed Higley and his wife Susan of Muscotah, Kansas.

5 GRANDCHILDREN: Corey Lane and Brad Lane both of Dimmitt, Texas, Holly Beam and her husband Wade of Canyon, Texas and Sara Emery and Cole Emery both of Clayton, New Mexico.

2 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Cale Beam and Cooper Beam both of Canyon, Texas.
