Ben Pollock

Ben Pollock, 59, of Aztec died May 15, 2000, at San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington. He was born April 2, 1941, in Clarksville, Texas.

Mr. Pollock served in the U.S. Army. Retired, he enjoyed cars and drag racing.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita Pollock; sons, Harold Lee Pollock and wife, Krista, and Paul Danel Wyrick; daughters, Adana Conway and husband, Pat, and Brenda Grizzle and husband, Robert; mother, Hazel Pollock; sister, Joyce Searle; brothers, Roy H. Pollock and wife, Shirley, and Jim Pollock and wife, Sharon; seven grandchildren and 36 "other" children.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roylee Pollock.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2000, at Aztec Baptist Church, 305 Sabena in Aztec, with Brother Bob Newton officiating.

Arrangements are by The Alternative Society of Farmington, 326-3671.

Shasta Marie Rousseau

Shasta Marie Rousseau, 13, of Aztec died on Tuesday, May 16, 2000. Shasta was born in Placerville, Calif., on Aug. 5, 1986, to Edward and Jonnie Cox Rousseau.

She is survived by her parents, Ed and Jonnie Rousseau of Aztec; brothers, Joshua Hicks of the family home and Jeremy Rousseau of Seattle, Wash.; sisters, Shannon Rousseau of the family home and Jennifer Rousseau of Seattle; and grandparents, Jim Cox of Winnemucca, Nev., Jean Smith of El Dorado Hills, Calif., Jackie Weatherwax of Tucson, Ariz., and Edward D. Rousseau Sr. and Carrie Clausen of Gobernador. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, dear friends and classmates.

Shasta was in Mrs. Griswald's class at Koogler Junior High. She enjoyed school, which was reflected in her grades. She loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed riding her horse, Mayflower. You could also find her with her cat, Snowy. Family and friends will miss her bubbly spirit and blue eyes.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 19, 2000, at the Aztec Community Cemetery, with Gary Oliver officiating. Pallbearers will be Ed Rousseau Jr., Jerry Rousseau, Ed Rousseau Sr., Terry Rousseau, Jeff Chiasson and Donald Archuleta.

Funeral arrangements are with Cope Memorial Chapel of Aztec, 334-9332.

Ernest O. Sandoval

Ernest O. Sandoval, 69, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2000, at the home where he has resided for 32 years with his wife, Emily Sena Sandoval, and son, Joseph "Michael" Sandoval. Ernest was born March 10, 1931, in Dillia, N.M.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Teodorita Chavez Sandoval and Miguel Sandoval; and brother, Estevan Sandoval; sister, Corrine Lucero; and brother-in-law, Ismale Perraa.

Survivors include Emily Sandoval, his wife of 40 years; son, Joseph "Michael" Sandoval; sisters, Stella Perraa of Pueblo, Colo., Amelia Sandoval of Della, N.M., Dilia Cordova and husband, Onesimo, of Santa Rosa, and Josephine Romero and husband, Joseph, of Albuquerque; and brother, Eloy Sandoval of Della, N.M.

Ernie was a devoted husband, father, brother and uncle. He was known as Papo to many, including Dorothy and Kristi Jacquez, and Robyn and Alysha Garcia. His nephew, Michael Martinez of Carlsbad had a special place in his uncle's heart.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today, Thursday, May 18 at Sacred Heart Church in Farmington.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Friday, May 19, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Farmington, with Father Tim Farrell officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Phil Sanchez, Tranquelino Apodaca, Philip Sandoval, Dennis Jacquez, John Sena and Jesse Jacquez. Honorary pallbearers will be Felix Jacquez, Alex Encinias, Medesto Chavez, Tony Jacquez, Michael A. Martinez, Robert Chavez and Geronimo Medina.

Funeral arrangements are with La Quey Funeral Home.

Faviana (Anna) Serrano

Faviana (Anna) Serrano, 82, of Bloomfield went to be with her Heavenly Father on May 17, 2000.

Services are pending with Cope Memorial Chapel in Farmington, 327-5142.

Laurena Lea Tucker Wright

Laurena Lea Tucker Wright passed away on Friday May 12, 2000, at the Life Care Center of Farmington, where she resided for five years. She was born on May 3, 1921, in Tres Piedras, New Mexico, to Hallie and Lillian Winifred Tucker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, stepdaughter JoAnne Minick, and brothers and sister, Edwin Tucker, Omer Tucker, and Twila Binford.

Survivors include husband, John J. Wright of the family home in Farmington; sons, Larrie Wright and wife, Linda Kay, of Flora Vista; John Allen Wright and wife, Cathey, of Farmington; and Stanley Wright of Farmington; and daughter, Linda Turnbow of Aztec. There are eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Farmington today at 2 p.m. The Reverends Frank and Tura Hayes will officiate.

Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larrie Wright, John Allen Wright, Stanley Wright, Robert Griffee, Garland Frazier, and Ed Tucker. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeffrey Wright, John Paul Wright, Tom Bradbury, Shannon Emerson, and Jay Turnbow.

If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation would be appreciated.

Arrangements are with La Quey Funeral Home.

JoAnn Begay

JoAnn Begay, 100 years young, died Wednesday morning, Dec. 12, 2001, at San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington. She is survived by her four sons, Fleming, Dick, John D. and Raymond Roger Begay. Funeral arrangements are pending with Chapel of Memories Funeral Home in Kirtland.

Eugene B. Jaramillo Jr.

Eugene B. Jaramillo Jr., 43, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001. He was born Jan. 4, 1958, to Eugene and Irene Jaramillo in Farmington. He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife, Alice Jaramillo; stepson, Christopher Strickland; daughter, Allison Jaramillo and stepdaughter, Candice Strickland.

Jack Charlie Bitsuie

Jack C. Bitsuie, 84, of White Rock died Monday, Dec. 10, 2001, in Crownpoint at the IHS Hospital. He was born July 15, 1917, in Bisti, the son of Albert Tom and Ba chin Ba. He spent most of his life ranching. Mr. Bitsuie is survived by his wife, Ruth Bitsuie; sons, Dempsey, Jack W., Herman, Harry, Jimmy and Wallace Bitsuie.

Mareena Lee Miller

Mareena Lee Miller, 38, passed away at San Juan Hospital Dec. 6, 2001. She was born in Pampa, Texas, June 21, 1963. Mareena is survived by her mother, Ginger Miller of the family home in Kirtland; a brother, Jerry Miller and wife, Audrey, of Kirtland; her aunt and namesake, Lee Ann Hickman-Blackmer.

Marie Camphuysen

Marie Camphuysen, 72, returned to her Heavenly Father Dec. 11, 2001, at her home, surrounded by her family. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Adelbert and Evelyn Palmer. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Boyd Camphuysen.

Ralph S. Hutton

Ralph S. Hutton, 88, a resident of Farmington since 1934, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2001, at San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington. Ralph was born Sept. 7, 1913, in Topeka, Kan.

Oscar Starr Caudill

Oscar Starr Caudill, 71, of Bloomfield went to be with the Lord on Friday morning, Feb. 15. He was born in Magdalena to Oscar and Hazel Wilms Caudill on Sept. 20, 1930.

Dwight Rankin Ray

Dwight Rankin Ray, 86, of Aztec went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday morning, Feb. 15. Rankin was born on Oct. 29, 1915 in Royce City, Texas to Nathaniel and Effie Ranking Ray. On May 20, 1939 he married Margie Parker in Henderson, Ky. Rankin is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margie, of the family home.

Ella Mae Chavez Dietrich

Ella Mae Chavez Dietrich, 57, of Aztec died Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, while in Glendale, Ariz. She was born July 20, 1944, in Nageezi. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today, Monday, Feb. 18, at Aztec Church of the Nazarene. Pastor David Bane and Brother Dallas Cooper will officiate.

Elna Goodman

Elna Goodman, 72, of Bloomfield passed away Sunday Feb. 17, 2002 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 16, 1929 in Bisbee, Ariz., to Leo Alma and Teleta Hilda Cluff Farnsworth. Elna and her family moved to Farmington in the '40s and graduated from Farmington High School in 1948.

Helen Belle Waggoner Nelson

Helen Belle Waggoner Nelson, 87, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 12, 2002, at Good Samaritan Center with her loving family in attendance.

Kenneth McCament

Kenneth McCament, 91, of Aztec, went to be with his Lord Saturday morning, Feb. 16, 2002. He was born on July 9, 1910 in Knox County, Ohio to Harold and Faye Pumphery McCament. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Larry. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Estella McCament of the family home.

Ruby L. Warren Jones

Graveside services for Ruby Jones, 87, of Peoria, Ariz., will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at Greenlawn Cemetery. Dr. Ed Myers, a Baptist minister, will officiate. Viewing will be held at Brewer, Lee & Larkin Funeral Home today, Monday, and Tuesday, Feb. 18 and 19.

Samuel Martinez

Samuel Martinez, 36, of Nageezi died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002. He is survived by his mother and father Sam and Emma Martinez of Nageezi, two brothers, seven sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services are pending with Chapel of Memories Funeral Home of Kirtland.

John P. Benvegno

John P. Benvegno, 81, passed away at his home in Farmington on Friday, April 5, 2002. Benvegno was born to Antonio and Maria Benvegno on June 22, 1920 in Wendel, W.V. Surviving John is his wife Pat Benvegno (Neel) of the family home in Farmington.

Alfonso Padilla

Alfonso Padilla died at home in Farmington April 4, 2002. He was born April 5, 1932, in Espanola to Frances (Duran) and Jose Eugene Padilla. He was preceded by his parents; a sister, Frances; and brothers, Euwaldo, Jose, Abraham and Ramon.

Alfred Dyer

Alfred Dyer, 81, passed away at his home in Aztec Wednesday, April 3, 2002. He was born Aug. 5, 1920, in Toledo, Ohio, to Charles E. Dyer and Laura K. (Koehn) Dyer. In 1934, Alfred shipped on Great Lakes freighters as a coal passer, and started on the ocean freighters in 1936.

Arla Rae Dwinell

Arla Rae Dwinell passed away from this life on April 4, 2002, after a brief battle with lung cancer. She joins, in Heaven, her parents, Jessie and Frank Carrier; her brothers, George, Millard, Stuart and Bob Carrier; and two sons, Douglas Dwinell and Daniel Dwinell. Arla was born Sept. 29, 1925, in Midland, Mich.

Daniel Christopher Kerschion

Daniel Christopher Kerschion, infant son of Keith Kerschion and Tonya Sexton, came into this world and left it on April 2, 2002. He is survived by his parents; his brothers, Andrew Garza, Jarrod Olguin and Adrian Olguin.

Shirley M. Watson

Shirley M. Watson of Farmington died peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 2, 2002. She was born Aug. 7, 1923, in Hoosick Falls, N.Y., to Ruth (Crosier) and Herbert Armstrong, the oldest of 11 children. Shirley was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Women's Army Corps from 1944 to 1946 during World II.

Eldon Wayne Dan

Jan. 9, 1955 — April 3, 2006

Eldon Wayne Dan, 51, passed away in Albuquerque. Eldon was born Jan. 9, 1955, in Farmington to George and Eleanora Dan.

Eldon graduated from Farmington High School in 1973, after which, he attended school in Long Beach, Calif., where he received certification in welding. He also pursued his dream of being a boxer.

Eldon was preceded in death by his parents, George and Eleanora Dan; brothers, Elroy E. Dan and George T. Dan Jr.; maternal grandparents, Tom and Ann Harwood; and his paternal grandfather, Thomas Dan.

Eldon is survived by his daughter, Chasity and husband, Jordan Deale, of Farmington; five brothers, Larry and Arnold of Farmington, Willard and Darwin of Albuquerque, Delando of Phoenix, Ariz.; and three sisters, Linda and husband, Lawrence Rodriguez, of Pueblo, Colorado, Marilyn Dan, Cherylynn and husband, Larry Arviso, of Farmington; step mother, Evelyn Dan of Albuquerque; two granddaughters; numerous nieces and nephews; and their family members and friends.

Graveside services for Eldon will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14, at Rose Garden Cemetery in Upper Fruitland, with the Rev. Rosie Sandoval officiating.

Pallbearers will be Larry Dan, Darwin Dan, Arnold Dan, Willard Dan and Jeremy T. Dan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jason T. Dan and Delando Dan.

Janice Lynn Clark

June 21, 1938 — Aug. 10, 2006

Janice Lynn Clark, a loving mother, a wonderful wife, an extraordinary sister, and a grandmother who can be replaced by no other, passed Aug. 10, 2006, in Aztec. She fulfilled her calling to our gracious Lord. She was born June 21, 1938, in Greenville, Miss.

She will be solely missed by the people whose lives she had embraced, the hearts she touched, and the love she gave unconditionally. With no doubt in our minds do we say she will be there, watching over us as an angel.

She is preceded in passing by her father and mother, Pearlmon and Estelle Steed; sisters, Amy Carol Churchwell and Billie Desper; and brother, Willis Steed.

She is survived by her two daughters, Toni Judah and Mitzi Thompson, both of Aztec; her son, Donald Clark of Farmington; four grandchildren, Tosha Valdez of Farmington, Jade Marquez of Bloomfield, Corina Mitchell of Albuquerque, and Destiny Judah of Aztec; two great-grandchildren, Tamika Valdez and Bryson Valdez of Farmington; her twin brother, Sonny Steed of Illinois; and sisters, Nancy Hyatt of Illinois and Joe Stevens of Florida.

Memorial Services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14, 2006, at Alternative Choice Chapel located at 804 N. Dustin Avenue in Farmington. A reception will follow at 65 County Road 3235 in Aztec.

Florence Lenore Johnson

April 6, 1936 — Aug. 10, 2006

Florence Lenore Johnson, our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away Aug. 10, 2006, in Aztec.

Lenore was born in Pennsylvania and spent all of her adult life in Aztec. She and Jimmie Johnson, her husband, made several trips to Alaska to work and vacation, but care giving was her calling.

Lenore always gave everything she had to her family, friends and those in need. She was beloved by all who knew her for her kind and gentle soul. Her love for her family was unconditional and demonstrated daily by the countless times she was there for us. Our memories of Lenore are cherished and she will be missed, but never forgotten.

She was preceded in death by her son, Trenton James Bible, and parents, Clarence and Susie Thomas.

Lenore is survived by her husband, Jimmie; children, Audie Bible, Susan and Jim Roberts, Robert Bible, Randy and Trish Bible, Terry Johnson, James and Louetta Johnson; siblings, Harold Thomas, Lynn and Violet Thomas; and sister, Juanita and Leo Klein; and grandchildren, Tasha, Diana, Michael, Holly, Shane, Corey Bible and Lexie Johnson; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006, in the Cope Memorial Chapel located at 404 West Arrington in Farmington. Pallbearers are Michael, Corey, Tasha and Holly Bible.

Ronda Lee Lackey

Nov. 13, 1954 - Aug. 11, 2006

Ronda Lee Lackey, 52, of Bloomfield, passed away at her parents home on Aug. 11, 2006, surrounded by family.

Ronda grew up in Cortez, Colo.

She is survived by her parents Daniel and Dorothy Carver; numerous brothers and sisters; her husband, Ronnie Lackey; children ,Zach and Teresa Bass, Isaac and Stephanie Bass, Jessica Bass, Wesley John and Kayla Lackey, Josh Lackey and Janelle Lackey; and grandchildren, Tanner, Lantz , James, Kathleen, Lizzy, Lexy, Jasmine, Mariah, Kiara and Martin.

Services for Ronda will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14, at Ertel Funeral Home, 42 N. Market in Cortez. Interment will follow Lebanon Cemetery.

Bill R. Schwab

Nov. 26, 1936 - Oct. 18, 2006

William "Bill" R. Schwab, 69 of Farmington, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006, at his home. Mr. Schwab was born Nov. 26, 1936, in La Crosse, Kan., to William and Ilene Schwab.

A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. today, Monday, Oct. 23, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 211 W. 20th St. in Farmington, with the Rev. John Preston and interim Pastor Larry Haslam officiating. Bill will then be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery in Farmington, with services being handled by the BPOE Elk's Lodge No. 1747.

Arrangements are with Brewer, Lee & Larkin Funeral Home & Crematory, 103 E. Ute St. in Farmington, (505) 325-8688.
