Jimmie Denetsosie

March 18, 1935 - Sept. 13, 2008

Jimmie Denetsosie, 73, of Kayenta, Ariz., died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at Blanding, Utah.

He was born March 18, 1935, at Kayenta, Ariz.

Funeral services are pending with Desert View Funeral Home of Shiprock, N. Hwy. 491, (505) 368-4607.

Bruno Giovanini Jr. (Bambi)

July 1, 1943 - Sept. 13, 2008

Bruno Giovanini Jr. (Bambi), 65, died peacefully in his recliner, joining his heavenly father with open arms on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008.

He was born July 1, 1943, in Farmington.

Bambi graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1961, and spent his entire life working in the oil and gas fields of New Mexico, eventually retiring from Williams Field Service.

He was very proficient in all of his varied experiences.

Bambi enjoyed a variety of outdoor experiences, such as camping and working around the house.

He had an enjoyment for the breeze in his face while riding a motorcycle or in a boat.

He also enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Vonnie Giovanini.

Bambi is survived by his wife, Loretta; stepsons, Russell and Jonathan Farrow; father, Bruno Giovanini Sr.; son, Tony Giovanini; daughter, Bridget Foote; brother, Norman Giovanini; sisters, Sue and Karen Giovanini; mother- and father-in-law, Joe and Maggie Trujillo; two brothers-in-law, Ron and Mike Trujillo; three grandsons; two granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews. Bambi also leaves behind many loving friends and his dog, Blue.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 18, at the Light House Church, 9 County Road 5324 in Bloomfield.

Pallbearers are Tony Giovanini, Chad Gates, Russell Farrow, Jonathan Farrow, Robert Lujan, Ronnie Trujillo and Gibb Motto.

Honorary Pallbearers are made up of his close family, friends, and so many others he loved and cared for.

Bambi is entrusted to Brewer, Lee & Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St. in Farmington, (505) 325-8688.

Von Lee Lewis

Jan. 9, 1918 - Sept. 13, 2008

Von Lee Lewis, 90, of Bloomfield, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, in Farmington.

He was born Jan. 9, 1918, in Winters, Texas, to Wiley Lewis and Velma Cunningham Lewis.

Cremation has taken place.

Mr. Lewis is in the care of Alternative Choice Cremation and Funeral Services, 804 N. Dustin Ave. in Farmington, (505) 326-3671.

Juanita Belen Lovato

June 18, 1937 - Sept. 12, 2008

Juanita Belen Lovato, 71, of Farmington, passed from this life into her heavenly life on Friday, Sept. 12, 2008.

She was born June 18, 1937, in La Jara, to Leopoldo and Minnie (Dobbs) Maestas.

Juanita loved to garden and collect interesting items.

She was well known as a caring and loving person who was always concerned about others.

Juanita was preceded in death by her parents and by her son-in-law, Barry Larned.

She is survived by her loving children, Yolanda Sutton of Albuquerque, Paul Lovato and wife, Bernadette, of Aztec, Adelaida Larned of Albuquerque, and John H. Lovato of Farmington; five grandchildren, Briana and husband, Robert, Erica, Lorielle, Casey, Seth, and Jessie; five great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Kaleigh, Isaac, Octavia, and Darrien; and by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. today, Tuesday, Sept. 16, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 2100 E. 20th St. in Farmington.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, at St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Celebrant will be Father Raymond Mahlmann.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Cope Memorial Chapel, 404 W. Arrington St. in Farmington, (505) 327-5142.

Tony Tom Tapaha

March 19, 1946 - Sept. 12, 2008

Tony Tom Tapaha, 63, of Red Valley, Ariz., died Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, in Red Valley.

He was born March 19, 1946, in Cove, Ariz.

Viewing will be held from 9 to 10 a.m., on Wednesday, Sept. 17, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Shiprock.

Services will follow at 10 a.m.

Interment will follow at the family plot in Cove.

Gene Franklin Hall

Jan. 22, 1926 - Sept. 16, 2008

Gene Franklin Hall, 82, of Cortez, Colo., died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008, in Mancos, Colo., with his family at his side. He was born Jan. 22, 1926, to Charles Elmer and Lillian Etta (Franklin) Hall in Cherokee, Okla.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at Summit Ridge Cemetery in Dolores, Colo.

Military honors will be provided by Ute Mountain American Legion Post No. 75.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Gene Hall with Hospice of Montezuma, P.O. Box 740, Cortez, CO 81321.

Services are under the direction of Ertel Funeral Home.

Donald Howell

Nov. 9, 1938 - Sept. 18, 2008

Donald Howell, 69, of Kirtland, passed away Sept. 18, 2008, at San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington.

He was born Nov. 9, 1938, in Silver City, to Maggie and Robert J. Howell.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, and by siblings, Melvin, Bennie, Morris, Alvin, Margaret and Betty Howell.

He is survived by his best friend and companion, Betty Davidson; his children, Darren (Tamera) Howell, and Kevin (Tammy) Howell; by siblings, Fannie Fuentes and Darrell (Jackie) Howell; three grandchildren, Chris, Dayton and Ryan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Sunday, Sept. 21, at Cope Memorial Kirtland Chapel.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 473 CR 6100, in Kirtland.

Interment will follow at Kirtland-Fruitland Cemetery in Kirtland.

Pallbearers are Darren Howell, Kevin Howell, Darrell Howell, Haskell Howell, Donald Howell and Kelly Howell.

Miguel 'Mike' Martinez

Oct. 19, 1964 - Sept. 13, 2008

Miguel "Mike" Martinez, 43, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, following a motorcycle accident in Denver.

He was born Oct. 19, 1964.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 3801 W. Ohio Ave. in Denver.

Celebrant will be the Rev. Adalberto DeGante.

Fred Milam

March 28, 1925 - Sept. 17, 2008

Fred Milam, 83, of Farmington, died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, at the V.A. Hospital in Albuquerque.

Fred was born March 28, 1925, in Vanhorn, Texas, to James H. Milam and Placida Milam.

He was a devoted family man and friend to all he met.

No one ever went hungry when at his home.

He never met a person he did not become friends with and someone they could count on when in need.

He served in World War II where, while in Germany, he contracted rheumatoid arthritis which he fought against all his life, leaving him weak in other areas.

Fred is survived by his wife, who adored him, all his children and numerous grandchildren.

He will never be forgotten.

Cremation has taken place.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m., Monday, Sept. 22, at Templo Sinai Church, 800 McCormick School Road, in Farmington.

Pastor Jonathan Lopez will officiate.

Howard Austin Frank

April 6, 1936 - Sept. 11, 2008

Howard Austin Frank, 72, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008.

He was born April 6, 1936, in Turner Town, Texas, to William and Edna Frank.

Howard served in the United States Army and the Reserves from 1959 to 1965.

He then worked in the oil fields in Texas and New Mexico until his retirement 10 years ago.

Howard married Reida Ward on May 17, 1980.

They resided in Hobbs until they moved to Farmington in 1999.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Freddie and Billy Frank; and by sister, Betty Lipsey.

Howard is survived by his wife, Reida of the family home; three children from a first marriage, Clayton and Troy Frank of Eunice, and Teresa Haynes of Del Rio, Texas; seven stepchildren, Cheryl Wheeler of Wichita, Kan., Carol Jeter of Stanton, Texas, LaTraille Anderson of Enid, Okla., Connie Ward of Hobbs, Sonja Richards of Jacksonville, Fla., Teresa Greenway of Odessa, Texas, and Cassie Sanders of Farmington; one sister, Margaret Ann of Breckenridge, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Sibyl Huntington of Farmington; 20 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Howard was a great papa to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Howard, we love and miss you.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Sunday, Sept. 14, at Cope Memorial Chapel.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, at Memory Gardens of Farmington. Military honors will be performed by VFW Post No. 2182.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Cope Memorial Chapel, 404 W. Arrington St., in Farmington; (505) 327-5142.

Charles Doyle Leon White

Feb. 18, 1936 — Aug. 17, 2008

Charles White, 72, passed away in Albuquerque on Aug. 17, 2008, of pancreatic cancer, surrounded by his family.

He was born Feb. 18, 1936, to Joseph and Thelma White in Stockton, Kan.

He is survived by four children, Bobbi Morgan (Cory Shipp), Steve White (Debbie), Charles White and Craig White (Kim); by five grandchildren, Amanda, Skylar, Kira, Mary and William; by his former wife and good friend, Katherine White; and by a sister, Kay Warren.

Cremation has taken place.

He was born May 18, 1932, in Shiprock.

Interment will follow at Shiprock Community Cemetery.
