Mark Wayne Butler
Services: Have been held.
Mr. Mark Wayne Butler, 17, of Ruidoso, Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003, at his home.
He was born on May 4, 1986, in Clovis.
He lived in Clovis until age 13, when he moved to Ruidoso. He was a student at Ruidoso High School. He had been a member of the Junior Volunteer Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Carey Wren Butler and Tammie Butler.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, Robert and Sharon Butler of the home in Ruidoso; his mother and stepfather, Vyneta and Robert Smith of Salisaw, Okla.; two brothers, Rhett Butler of Odessa, Texas, and Tyler Butler of the home in Ruidoso; a sister, Tera Fae Wong of Cannon Air Force Base; and a grandmother, Delores Davis of Fort Smith, Ark.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.

Robert Byrd
Services: Have been held.
Mr. Robert Byrd, 92, of Clovis, died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at Sunbridge Nursing Home in Clovis.
He was born on April 28, 1911, in Martin County, Texas.
He married Ethel Irene Gray on Aug. 5, 1929, in Hale County, Texas. He moved to Clovis in 1965 from the West Camp Community. He was a Baptist and retired from farming when he was 43 years old.
He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Gerald; a grandson, David; two sisters, Vila Johnson and Pearl Day; and a brother, Aubry.
He is survived by two sons, Bob (and wife, Joyce) of Muleshoe and Gorman (and wife, Juanita) of Farwell; a daughter, Barbara Fudge of Tulia; three sisters, Annie Scarbrough of Petersburg, Texas, Lilly Behendson of Clovis and Pansy Tillis of Abernathy, Texas; three brothers, Clyde of Hale Center, Texas, Tommy of Lubbock and Clarence of Plainview, Texas; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
Burial will be at Muleshoe Memorial Park Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Ellis Funeral Home of Muleshoe.

Jason Cadena
Services: Have been held.
Jason Mario Cadena Jr., an infant, of New York, died Saturday, May 24, 2003, at Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids, N.C.
He was born on May 24, 2003, in Roanoke Rapids, N.C., to Jason and Jamie Cadena.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Estefanita Baca; two great aunts, Mary Baca and Doris Betancourt; and a cousin, Sal Betancourt Jr.
He is survived by his parents of Fort Drum, N.Y.; grandparents, Eladio and Yolanda Loera and Roberta Lopez, all of Clovis, and Mario Cadena of Los Angeles; great-grandparents, Benny Cadena of Los Angeles, Greg and Dolores Lopez of Clovis and Eladio Sr. and Josefa Loera of Texico; aunts and uncles, Valerie and Margarito Lopez of Fort Bliss, Texas, Veronica Loera, Santiago Marshall, Melissa Lopez and Krystal Loera, all of Clovis, and Arlene Cadena of Los Angeles; cousins, Alexandria and Adam Lopez of Fort Bliss, Texas; and many great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins.
The Rev. David Lombrana will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis.
Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.

C.C. Cagle
Services: Have been held.
Mr. C.C. "Bud" Cagle, 91, of Clovis, a retired cost accountant, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2003, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
He was born on June 15, 1912, in Roswell, to Charles Clifton and Della Reese Cagle.
He was born when New Mexico was still a territory. He graduated high school in Roswell and attended college at University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Following graduation he moved to Clovis to join the family business, Gateway Auto Company, the first Ford dealership in Clovis, until its sale in 1964. He then worked at K. Barnett & Sons, retiring in 1982.
He was a Boy Scout during his youth and continued as an adult in various scouting leadership roles earning the Silver Beaver award. He joined the Army Air Corp at the beginning of World War II as a commercially rated civilian pilot serving until September of 1945. After returning to Clovis he trained many locals to fly and taught aerial acrobatics. While serving on the New Mexico State Aviation Board he helped secure funding for the Clovis Municipal Airport.
The family will gather at the home of Elizabeth Cagle, 2607 Gidding.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Modell McDade Cagle; and a brother, Reese Cagle.
He is survived by a daughter, Terri Crosby (and husband, Mike) of Running Springs, Calif.; a son, Trace Cagle of Clovis; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Cagle; two grandchildren, Kimberly and Nicole Crosby; and two nieces, Cindy Cagle and Nancy Blackburn.
The Rev. Herbert Bergstrom will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.

Weldon Cain
Mr. Weldon Cain, 71, of Snyder, Texas, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003, at his home.
He was born on Nov. 24, 1931, in Kaufman, Texas.
He married Patricia Overton on May 24, 1955, in Lovington. He was a truck driver for Mussel White Trucking Co. He served in the U.S. National Guard. He was a member of the North College Avenue Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a son; three brothers; three sisters; and his parents.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Cindy Honshiko (and husband, Jeff) of Amarillo and Pam Jackson (Tommy) of Broken Bow, Okla.; four sons, Randy Cain (Elaine) of Pleasant Hill, Ricky Cain (Sherry) of Clovis, Gary Cain (Melissa) of Midland, Texas and David Cain (Alisa) of Snyder, Texas; a brother, Don Cain (Anita) of Conchas Dam; 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Charles Day will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Snyder Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Odyssey Hospice 1510 S. Gregg, Big Spring, TX 79720.
Arrangements are by Wright Colonial Funeral Home, Inc. of Snyder, Texas.

Martha Jo Calabrese
Services: Have been held.
Martha Jo Calabrese, 63, of Clovis died Monday, Dec. 8, 2003, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
She was born on Sept. 24, 1940, in Manhattan, N.Y., to Asa Paul and Grace Becky Bryant.
She married Theodore Calabrese on March 24, 1963, in Little Rock, Ark. She came to Clovis in July 1972. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Diana Garduno of Albuquerque; a brother, Paul Bryant of Corpus Christi, Texas; and two granddaughters, Kaleigh and Alexandra Garduno, both of Albuquerque.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Muffley Chapel in Clovis.
Deacon Daniel Chavez will be officiate the services.
Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.

Wallace Cameron
Services: Have been held.
Mr. Wallace H. Cameron, 82, of Clovis, retired Air Force colonel, died Thursday, July 24, 2003, at his home.
He was born Sept. 16, 1920, in Cameron, to Arthur W. and Laura E. Cameron.
He graduated from Grady School in 1938. In 1942, he enlisted in the Army Air Corps. He married Louise “Jackie” Griffin of Clovis. He retired from the Air Force in 1971 and returned to Clovis. In 1979, he married Cassie “Dean” Downey. He had been the Sunday school director at University Baptist Church in Portales and the vice president of the New Mexico Baptist Men. He served as a senior official in The Gideons.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; three sisters; and his first wife.
Survivors include his wife, Cassie “Dean” of the home; two sons, Wallace L. (Deanna) of Lyons, Colo., and Ronald K. (Kris) of Twin Bridges, Mont.; one daughter-in-law, Nico Cameron of Portales; three stepdaughters, Patricia (David) Brand of Hobbs, Teresa (Don) Bolls of Niger, Africa, and Diane (Sidney) Barker of Emory, Texas; three stepsons, Alvin (Glenda) Downey of Friona, Dwain (Susie) Downey of House and David (Glenda) Downey of Clovis; one sister, Esther (Dixon) Kirby of Tucson, Ariz.; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Dr. Herbert Bergstrom and the Rev. Hoyt Welch will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Blair Cemetery at Wheatland, with full military honors by the Cannon Air Force Base Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Camp, W.Y. Mitchell Jr., Tommy Hohstadt, Allen Yates, Gary Northcutt and Jay James.
Memorials may be made to Gideons International.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.

Henry Campbell Jr.
Services: Have been held.
Mr. Henry M. Campbell Jr., 54, of Mesa, Ariz., truck driver, died Thursday, July 24, 2003, at Del Sol Medical Center in El Paso, Texas.
He was born Nov. 27, 1948, in Clovis, to Tracy and Henry Morgan Campbell Sr.
He graduated from Clovis High School. He drove a truck for Prime Time Transport of Phoenix. Family members described him as a loving husband, dad and papa, and said his hobbies were his family, friends and sports.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Campbell of the home in Mesa; two sons, Cory (Jill) of Clovis and Jeff of Farwell; one daughter, Mitzi of Dallas; two stepsons, Isaac and Aaron Baca, both of Mesa; one stepdaughter, Mandy (Jonathan) of Columbia Heights, Minn.; and four grandchildren.
Sam Kelley will officiate the services.
Cremation has taken place.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.

Patrick Campbell
Services: Have been held.
Mr. Patrick H. Campbell, 75, of Clovis, a structural engineer, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
He was born on Sept. 27, 1927, in Chicago to Patrick and Ida Miller Campbell.
He was a Navy veteran during World War II. He married Norma Dechant on Aug. 29, 1953, in Denver. He graduated from the University of Colorado in 1955. He had been a resident of Clovis since 1973 where he worked at the Civil Engineer’s office at Cannon Air Force Base. He retired in 1988. Family members said he was a loving father and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Stephen Campbell (and wife, Daveda) of Friendswood, Texas, Christopher Campbell (Virginia) of Dallas and Joseph Campbell (Eva) of Albuquerque; two daughters, Maura Kingston of Clovis and Susan Fitzgibbon (Maurice) of Tybee Island, Ga.; a sister, Joan Campbell of New Orleans; and 10 grandchildren.
Father Carlos Chavez will officiate the services.
A rosary will be held prior to the mass.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
Pallbearers will be Christopher, Stephen and Joseph Campbell and Gerald Fitzgibbon.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home in Clovis.

Katherine Capps
Services: Private services have been held.
Katherine S. Capps, 79, of Mesa, Ariz., died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003, in Phoenix.
She was born on Nov. 14, 1924, in Rosemark, Tenn., to Erwin and Katherine Stokes.
She was a school teacher. In 1991 she moved to Arizona from New Mexico.
Survivors include a son, Neal E. Capps of Mesa, Ariz.
Arrangements were entrusted to Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary of Scottsdale, Ariz.

Joe Carpenter
Services: Have been held.
Mr. Joe Carpenter, 73, of Clovis, a retired wholesaler, died Friday, Aug. 1, 2003, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
He was born April 16, 1930, in Farwell, to Lon and Della Johnson Carpenter.
He married Glenda Dosher on Nov. 19, 1950, in Texico. He was a Korean War veteran. They owned and operated Ponca Wholesale for 28 years. He was a member and deacon at Central Baptist Church. He taught ninth-grade boys Sunday school and was the Brotherhood Breakfast cook for 13 years at First Baptist Church in Tucumcari.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Lucille Gulley.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Pam (and husband, Lance) Adkins and Tam Curry (Benton), all of Clovis; and four grandchildren, Kim Adkins, Jace Adkins, Jamie Curry and Andrea Curry.
The Rev. Joseph Vest will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Marine Corps Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be Ralph Phillips, Eddie Adkins, Charles Sanders, Thomas LaPlante, Duane Collins and Rick Hollis.
Honorary bearers will be deacons of Central Baptist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 8100 Mountain Road NE Suite 102, Albuquerque, N.M. 87110.

Carter, Ina
Ina L. Carter, 82, of Clovis, a ladies wear purchasing agent, died Friday, April 25, 2003, at Farwell Convalescent Center.
She was born Aug. 26, 1920, in Conway, Mo., to William O. and Matie Stone.
She married Thomas Carter on Oct. 15, 1982, in Mesa, Ariz., and they enjoyed traveling around the country and sailed on several cruises. Family members said she was caring and loving to all the foster children she came in touch with. She was a member of the Christian church.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas, of the home; one sister, Pat (and husband, Roland) Kimball of Springfield, Mo.; a brother, Dean (and wife, Evelyn) Stone of Springfield; a son, William (and wife, Pam) Armstrong of Commerce Township, Mich.; two stepdaughters, Marge Williams of Clovis and Jayne Sargent of Phoenix; two stepsons, Kelly (and wife, Margarette) Carter of Albuquerque and Patrick (and wife, Ruth) Carter of Salem, Ore.; a grandson, Aaron Armstrong; nine step-grandchildren; and five step great-grandchildren.
No services were held
The body has been cremated.
Memorial contributions may be made to Foster Parent Association, 4300 Lazy Lane, Clovis, N.M. 88101; or Christian Children’s Home of Portales.

JOSEPH CASILLAS
Services: 2 p.m. Saturday at The Chapel, 1500 Thornton in Clovis.Joseph “Joe Bob” P. Casillas, 49, of Chandler, Ariz., died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003, in Chandler.
He was born on Sept. 1, 1954, in Clovis, to John and Geneva Sparks Casillas.
He worked for the Safeway Milk Plant for 22 years. Family members said he was a dedicated and beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend to many. He loved NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhart, and spending time with his NASCAR extended family at the Phoenix International Raceway.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include four brothers, Ric Valentine of Stuart, Fla., Michael Casillas, Billy Casillas (and wife, Susan) and Glen Berry, all of Clovis; three sisters, Fran Savage and Shauna Burris (Robert), all of Amarillo and Kathy Stallings (Larry) of Keller, Texas; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The Rev. Rob Hollis will officiate the services.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Victory Junction Gang Camp, 311 Branson Mill Road, Randleman, N.C. 27317.
The family will be at 1213 Hinkle in Clovis.
Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.

Cast, Floyd
Services: Have been held.
Floyd “Sonny” Cast, 68, of Tucumcari, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003, in Amarillo.
He was born in Quay.
Mr. Cast lived his life as a rancher.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Cast of Tucumcari; two daughters, Teresa Hampton of Tucumcari and Patty Lindsey of Datil; one sister, Merline (Snookie) Keller of Elephant Butte; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews including one special niece, Laura Kay Jackson of Amarillo.
Services will be officiated by the Rev. Bob Miller, minister of the South Georgia Baptist Church of Amarillo. Burial will take place in the family plot of the Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari.

Margaret Ollene Cast
Service: Have been held.
Margaret Ollene Cast, 90, of Clovis, formerly of Melrose, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, at Laurel Plains Healthcare in Clovis.
She was born Feb. 21, 1913, at Quay Valley, Quay County, to John and Mattie Fish. She resided in Melrose for 56 years and was a hairdresser for 44 of those years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Willie Mae Hutchins of Tularosa and Inez Osteen of Quay; three brothers, Tommie Fish of Capitan and Oscar McCauley and Gilbert McCauley, both of Tucumcari.
Survivors include three children, Thelma Jean Beck (and husband Bob) of Eunice, Harold Ray Cast (Sandie) of Clovis and Betty Lucille Langham (Henry) of Fort Sumner; a stepson, Cecil Cast (Gladys) of Elephant Butte; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; a sister, Loie Buttrill of Tucumcari; a brother, Leslie Fish of Tucumcari, and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
Pastor Larry Tedrow will officiate.
Honorary pallbearers are all her family and friends.

Thelma Chambers
Services: Have been held.
Thelma D. Chambers, 87, of Portales, died Tuesday, May 25, 2004, at Farwell Convalescent Center.
She was born on Sept. 16, 1916, in Willis, Okla., to Ruth K. and Luther D. Jackson.
She grew up in Leonard, Texas, and moved to Roosevelt County in 1926. She worked for the Clovis Schools Lunch Program until 1970, when she moved to Van Nuys, Calif. She then worked for Valley Presbyterian Hospital until 1979. She returned to Clovis in 1985 and worked for Clovis Home Health Care until 1988. She then moved to Golden Acres in Portales. Family members said she was an avid reader who enjoyed playing games, crafting and spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, James and George Jackson; and a sister, Irene Bohannon.
Survivors include two sons, Charles V. Chambers (and wife, Evelyn) of Portales and James F. Chambers (Deann) of Weatherford, Texas; two daughters, Iva Collins (Dave) of Portales and Anita Wilmeth (Pat) of Clovis; two sisters, Verna Jackson of Sun Valley, Calif., and Betty Kincaid of Smyer, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Diane Myers of Portales.
Herbert Bergstrom will officiate the services.
Honorary pallbearers are all grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Golden Acres, C/O Leroy Powers, 718 Wylie Cox Circle, Portales, N.M. 88130 or to Meals-On-Wheels, C/O Myrtice Townsend, P.O. Box 782, Portales, N.M. 88130.
