Filimino Teofilo
Services: Have been held.
Mr. Filimino Lemanua Teofilo, 88, of Clovis, a retired carpenter, died Monday, June 16, 2003, at his home.
He was born on Sept. 6, 1914, in Leone, American Samoa, to Iuli and Lucia Teofilo.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Faalologogo Sapau Teofilo in 1997.
Survivors include two sons, Pale (and wife, Oliana) Lemanua of Leavenworth, Kan., and Laauli (and wife, Pita) Teofilo of Carson, Calif.; four daughters, Ana Hicks of American Samoa, Christina (and husband, Luamata) Faiai of Clovis, Logo Filloon of Las Vegas, Nev., and Afatia (and husband, Fetapai “Cap”) Leota of Clovis; 15 grandchildren, Jake Teofilo Leota, Lopali, Filimino and Francis Hicks, Joseph Josh and Aisi Faiai, Tita, Marina and LeMapu Lemanua, Joe, Kristina, John and Laauli Teofilo, Tia Filloon and Eme Faumunia; and nine great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Carlos Chavez will officiate the services.
Burial will follow at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis.
Pallbearers will be Pale Lemanua, Fetapai Leota, Laauli Teofilo, Luamata P. Faiai Jr., Inosia Poyer and Jacob Leota Teofilo.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.

Ray Tharp
Services: Have been held.
Mr. Ray Tharp, 95, of Texico, a farmer, died Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
He was born May 3, 1908, in Oklahoma, to Nathan and Nettie Maddox Tharp.
He was a resident of Texico all his life. He farmed in the Bovina and Texico areas until retiring in 1969, then he did custom grading work for farms and ranches for the next 12 years. He helped pioneer irrigation and cotton stripping in West Texas and eastern New Mexico. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Texico.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lewis and Loyd; two sisters, Veda and Jonell; and two great-grandchildren, Brandi Kelley and Jacob Lokey.
He is survived by a son, Nathan Tharp (and wife, Fern) of Texico; four daughters, Mary Ann Snider (and husband, Bud) of Gunnison, Colo., Anita Zachrel of Texico, Connie Elliott (and husband, Phil) of Brennan, Texas, and Judith Parks (and husband, Roger) of Hotchkiss, Colo.; three sisters, Viola Sterling of Farwell, Mary Snow of Houston and Beth Howard (and husband, W.D.) of Texico; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the home of Nathan and Fern Tharp, 224 N. State Line Road, in Texico.
The Rev. Rob Hollis will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.

Ludney Thetford
Services: Have been held.
Mr. Ludney Thetford, 67, of Cravens, La., died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003, at his home in Cravens, La.
He was a native of Rogers and had lived in Cravens, La., for 36 years. He was an Army veteran and served during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Thetford of Cravens, La.; four sons, James Lynn Thetford of Marlow, La., and Brent, Curt and Josh Thetford, all of Pitkin, La.; a daughter, Elaine Whitstine of Bartlesville, Okla.; a brother, Rod Thetford of Rogers; three sisters, Patsy Partin of Lubbock, Laura Roberson of Portales and Betty Turnbough of Clovis; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 4 p.m. (CDT) until 9 p.m. Friday at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, La.
The Rev. R.C. Bayham will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Marlow Cemetery in Marlow Community, La.
Arrangements are by Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, La.

Monell Gordon Thomas
Mr. Monell Gordon Thomas, 78, of Hollywood Hills, Calif., died Tuesday, June 17, 2003.
He was born on Dec. 18, 1924, in Tucumcari, to Eura E. and Viola H. Thomas.
He attended grade school in Forrest before moving to Portales where he graduated from high school in 1942. He served as a pharmaceutical mate during World War II. After the war he returned to Portales where he was hired by Beneficial Finance Company. He ran offices for Beneficial in Shawnee, Okla., Hobbs, Carlsbad, Roswell and Los Angeles.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Elvis Hugh Thomas and Harold Euvor Thomas.
He is survived by a sister, Marlene K. Strickland of Albuquerque; a niece, Ellen Peterson of Woodlands, Texas; three nephews, Mark Allan Thomas of Falls Church, Va., Gerald Strickland of Seattle, Wash., and Jeff Strickland of Kennewick, Wash.
Burial was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills, Calif.
Arrangements were by Forest Lawn Mortuary of Hollywood Hills, Calif.

EDITH THOMPSON
Services: Have been held.
Mrs. Edith Wyatt Thompson, 92, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003, at Crown of Texas Hospice in Amarillo.
She was born on May 2, 1911, in Roscoe, Texas, to Noah W. and Mary Elizabeth Wyatt.
In 1927 she moved from Oklahoma to south of Friona, where she attended Jesko and Friona schools. She and her family moved to New Mexico in 1934. She married G.F. “Gabe” Thompson of St. Vrain. They farmed in St. Vrain until his retirement. In April 1995 she moved to Amarillo. She was active in Home Extension Clubs in this area. She was involved in local political elections for the Democratic Party and enjoyed very much working at the Curry County Fair. She was a member of the Baptist Church at St. Vrain and taught in the youth department of Sunday School there.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Gary Granvile and Gerald James; and six brothers, Henry, Ancil, D.C. “Doc”, Russell, Leland, and Arlis Ray Wyatt
Survivors include two granddaughters, Tonya Thompson and Kim McPherson (and husband, Stan) all of Amarillo; four sisters, Dona Burge of Topeka, Kan., Zula Carlton of Plainview, Texas, Maxine Howard of Clovis and Daisy Crowley of Carlsbad; a brother, Edward Wyatt of Goldendale, Wash.; a daughter-in-law, Melba Widner Dzuick of Hereford; three great-grandchildren, Tayler Stewart, Ty Stewart and Drew McPherson, all of Amarillo; and many nieces and nephews.
The Rev. Roy Roach will officiate the services. Burial will be at Melrose Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Raymon Copeland, Grady Bright, Donald Hightower, Keith O’Rear, Terry and Ernest Crowley and Alvin Wyatt
Honorary pallbearers will be David Crow, Willard O’Rear, Harlan Sparks, Ty Stewart and Drew McPherson.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home in Clovis.

Dorothy Tipton
Services: Have been held.
Mrs. Dorothy Lee Brown Tipton, 94, of Spartanburg, S.C., died Monday, May 24, 2004, at White Oak Manor Nursing Home in Spartanburg, S.C.
She was born on Aug. 18, 1909, in Cameron, New Mexico Territory, to William T. and Martha Walker Brown.
She married Thomas J. Tipton in 1931 in Roswell. She was a member of First Christian Church in Clovis. She retired from J. C. Penney Company with 17 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a stepson, Thomas H. Tipton; and a son-in-law, Jerry Franklin King.
Survivors include a daughter, Reita Doloris Tipton King of Spartanburg, S.C.; four grandchidlren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Jon Forrest will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fernwood Baptist Church Building Fund, 200 Fernwood Drive, Spartanburg, S.C. 29307.

Jennifer Tibbetts

Mrs. Jennifer Dawn Tibbetts, 30, of Clovis, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
She was born on June 22, 1973, in Clovis.
She attended Clovis schools through her sophomore year. She also attended Onate High School in Las Cruces and later New Mexico State University. She married Buck Tibbetts on Jan. 18, 1992, in El Paso, Texas. She lived in White Sands, Heidelberg, Germany and Fort Huachuca, Ariz., returning to Clovis in 1996 where she was employed by Commercial Credit and later by Mesa Financial.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Steven Tibbetts of Clovis; her parents, Mark and Connie Sweetman of Clovis and Jack Head of Alamogordo; a brother, Jason Head of Alamogordo; her grandparents, Robert and Betty Lucero and F.J. and Naomi Head, all of Clovis, and Marilyn Sweetman of Manitowoc, Wis.; her father in-law, Roy Tibbetts of Danville, Ill., and mother-in-law, Elizabeth Van Duyne of Danville; her great-grandparents, Carmilita Salazar of Clovis, Mela Lucero of Albuquerque, Raymond King of Two Rivers, Wis., and Opal McGee of Stockton, Colo.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The Rev. Mack Barnard will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
Pallbearers will be Aaron and Walter Cunningham, Steve Hughes, Steve West and Mike and Eli Lucero.
Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Lucero and F.J. Head.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Jennifer Tibbetts Christian Education Fund, c/o First Assembly of God, 517 W. 21st, Clovis, NM 88101.

Gladys Tindle
Services: Have been held.
Gladys Joyce Tindle, 85, of Santa Fe, died Wednesday, Sept. 24,4, 2003, in Santa Fe.
She was born on Oct. 3, 1917, in Bunch, Okla., to Harve Maloy and Jessie Foster.
She married Alexander Tindle in 1939 and they moved to Roswell. They eventually settled in Melrose where they owned and operated the Tindle Grocery for 23 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Melrose and the VFW.
Survivors include three daughters, Marilyn Sethi of Tulsa, Okla., Sue Zahn (and husband, Craig) of Newburgh, N.Y. and Linda McKee of Galisteo; four grandchildren, Sunil Sethi (Greta) of Albuquerque, Suresha Sethi of Tulsa, Okla., Laura Tiffin of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Merridith Ingram (Robert) of Newburgh, N.Y.; a great-grandchild, Mandeleine Ingram; a sister, Ruth Robertson of Stilwell, Okla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in lieu of flowers. Arrangements are by McGee Memorial Chapel Mortuary and Crematory of Santa Fe.

Garland Tipps
Services: Have been held.
Mr. Garland Emory Tipps, Ph.D., 84, of Portales, died Sunday, June 15, 2003, at his home.
He was born on March 12, 1919, in Unionville, Tenn., to Floyd and Jonnye Waggoner Tipps.
He grew up in Tennessee. He attended Martin College in Pulaski, Tenn. He married Frances Frater on March 17, 1941, in Pulaski. He served in the Army during World War II. He attended George Peabody University in Nashville earning a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in 1946. From 1947 until 1949 he was Dean of Men at Martin College. He moved to Clovis in 1949. In 1954 he began teaching at Eastern New Mexico University. By 1965 he had developed a marriage and family course, which recorded over 12,000 students over the years, family members said.
In 1965 he earned a doctoral degree George Peabody College of Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Michael Floyd Tipps; and his parents.
He is survived by his children, Mary Garland Sumner of Fort Pierce, Fla., David Tipps (and wife, Patricia Pereira) of Jupiter Farms, Fla., and Alan Tipps (and wife, Sherri) of Portales; five grandchildren, Kristi Deutsch, Michael Tipps, Joshua and Tayler Lucero and Tim Pereira; a great-granddaughter, Tessa Deutsch; a brother, Frank Wayne Bell of Hobbs.
Alan Conner will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Portales Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Alan, David and Michael Tipps, Chris Harrell, Bart Walker and Kenny Howe.
Arrangements are by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales.

Jewel Trapp
Services: Have been held.
Mrs. Jewel D. Trapp, 88, of Temple, Texas, died Saturday, July 19, 2003, in a Temple nursing center.
She was born July 17, 1915, in Bell County, Texas, to William Jesse and Eva Pearl Cowan Whiteley.
She married William Clyde Trapp on July 22, 1933, in Bell County, Texas. She had been a resident of Temple since 1968. She was a member of the Canyon Creek Baptist Church in Temple. She and her husband lived in Clovis prior to moving to Temple.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Fred and Ira Whiteley; and five sisters, Opal Massengale, Ruby Humphrey, Marie Mangerich, Dorothy Clowers and Pearline Whiteley.
She is survived by a daughter, Ramona Gail Carter of Temple; two brothers, Joe A. Whiteley of Las Cruces and Arthur V. Whiteley of Austin, Texas; a sister, Irene Waskow of McAllen, Texas; a granddaughter; and a great-granddaughter.
The Rev. Rodney Kruse will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sunrise Oaks Health Care, LLP, 612 Industrial Boulevard, Temple, TX 76501.

Adelina Trujillo
Services: Have been held.
Mrs. Adelina Trujillo, 91, of Clovis, a homemaker, died Monday, May 26, 2003, at Plains Regional Medical Center.
She was born on Dec. 9, 1911, in Puerto de Luna to Salome and Victoria Lucero Garcia.
She married Lucario Trujillo on Oct. 25, 1943, in Clovis. She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Community.
Survivors include three sons, Johnny and Manuel Trujillo of Clovis and Albert Trujillo of Albuquerque; four sisters, Mela Armijo and Lupe Duran, both of Clovis, Floripa Gonzales of Texico and Josephia Alires of LaPuente, Calif.; 14 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents; four sisters, Marina Chavez, Tere Sanchez Herrera, Erlinda Marquez and Aurora Sandoval; a brother, Ernesto Garcia; and a great-grandson, Isiah Matthew Saar.
Fr. Sotero Sena will officiate the services. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Community. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Trujillo, Jr., Brian Trujillo, Matthew Trujillo, Johnny Trujillo III, Joe Trujillo and Manuel Trujillo.
Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home in Clovis.

Mark Trujillo Sr.
Services: Have been held.
Mr. Mark Anthony Trujillo Sr., 47, of Clovis, died Friday, Dec. 12, 2003, at Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo.
He was born on May 7, 1956, in Clovis, to Tommy and Helen Garcia Trujillo.
He was a lifetime resident of Clovis and graduated from Clovis High School. He was on the undefeated 1973 state champion football team as the quarterback under coach Dunny Goode. He married Stephanie Martinez on March 29, 2002, in Clovis. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tom and Paula Trujillo and Concepcion and Rosita Garcia; and a granddaughter, Angelica Lira.
Survivor include his wife; two daughters, Kendra Garcia Trujillo and Elena Diana Trujillo, both of Clovis; two sons, Mark Trujillo Jr. of Tucson, Ariz., and Francisco Thomas Concepcion Trujillo of Clovis; his parents; two sisters, Phyllis Quintana and Maria "Pita" Gutierrez, both of Clovis; three brothers, Tommy Joe Trujillo and George Trujillo, both of Clovis and Troy Trujillo of Amarillo; two granddaughters, Destiny and Savannah Garcia, both of Clovis.
Father Sotero Sena will officiate the services.
Cremation will take place with no viewing.
Honorary pallbearers will be nephews, Dominic Quintana, Jose and Ignacio Gutierrez and Michael and George Trujillo Jr.
Memorial contributions s may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Youth Group, in care of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Clovis.
Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.

J.C. Tucker
Services: Have been held.
Mr. J.C. Tucker, 67, of Clovis, a business owner, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2003, in Clovis.
He was born on May 17, 1936, in Littlefield, Texas, to Solomon and Ethel Dennis Tucker.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Bobby Gene Tucker and Victor Wayne Tucker.
Survivors include a son, Michael Tucker of Albuquerque; three daughters, Marcia Chandler and Leinani Roubison, both of Clovis and Nora Moore of Grapevine, Texas; a brother, J.O. Tucker of Owasso, Okla.; a sister, Jennette Easterwood of Lubbock; two granddaughters, Christina Zollinger and Magen Roubison; a grandson, Bryce Hill; a fiance, Barbara Watford; and several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home in Clovis.

Eddie Turner

Mr. Eddie Lyle Turner, 63, of Ames, Okla., died Saturday, June 28, 2003, at his home.
He was born May 10, 1940, in Ames, Okla.
He lived in Clovis off and on his whole life.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by a companion, Sammi Harper; a son, Mike Turner of Clovis; four daughters, Rhonda Williams of Clovis, Kandi Muncy, Lawanda Lively of Ohio and Robin Swinford of California; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Cremation was by Affordable Cremation Service of Oklahoma City, Okla.

William Turpin
Services: Have been held.
Mr. William J. Turpin III, 57, of Logan, died Thursday, April 24, 2003, in Logan.
He was born on May 19, 1945, in Clovis.
He worked for Swift and Company in Clovis for 15 years, for Honetreat Company for 10 years and owned and operated Turpin Lawn and Tree Service for 10 years. He retired in 2001 and moved to Logan to enjoy fishing and the outdoors. He was a member of the American Legion Post 77 in Logan.
He is survived by his wife, Diana; a daughter, Tammy L. Phillips of Logan; two sons, William Turpin IV of Clovis and Wade Turpin (and wife, Bonnie) of Hooker, Okla.; a foster daughter, Colynn Davidson of Terre Haute, Ind.; his father, William Turpin Sr. of Normal, Ill.; his mother, Wanda Carter of Clovis; a brother, Kelly M. Carter (and wife, Krissey) of Clovis; a sister, Lelsie Floyd (and husband, Max) of Clovis; two sisters-in-law, Gloria Rhoads of Logan and Donna Ashley (and husband, Tom) of Trenton, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Cremation has taken place.
Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari.
