Bill Wall
Services: Have been held.
Mr. Bill Wall, 62, of Dora and formerly of Lazbuddie, Texas, died Friday, June 20, 2003, at his home in Dora.
He was born on Feb. 27, 1941, in Cass County, Texas, near Atlanta, to Ivy and Earl Wall.
He lived in Cass County, Texas, until the age of 9 when the family moved to Maple. He attended school at Three Way. As a young man, he enlisted in the Navy. After his enlistment, he settled in the Lazbuddie area where he farmed until his retirement. Recently, he made his home with his mother in the Dora community.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include a son, Rick (and wife Belinda) Wall of Dora; two daughters, Connie (and husband Doug) Roberts of Coleman, Texas, and Tammy (and husband Eddy) Mardis of Canyon, Texas; his mother, Ivy Orene Wall Hays of Dora; one brother, Jim Wall of Dora; two sisters, Elizabeth Oglesby of Goldsmith, Texas, and Juanita Woolam of Lubbock; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The Revs. Eddy Mardis and Phil Shelton will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery near Dora.
Pallbearers will be Jim Bob Wall, Houston Wall, Gene Richards, Ruben Baeza, Monty Oglesby and Terry Oglesby.
Honorary bearers will be Rex Minshew and Stan Woolam.
Arrangements are by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales.

Charles Wall
Services: Have been held.
Mr. Charles Lee Wall, 74, of Clovis, a mechanic, died Thursday, July 31, 2003, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
He was born March 14, 1929, in Amarillo, to Lonnie and Mertie Chambers Wall.
He married Vernell Stephens July 25, 1952, in Clovis. He retired from Cannon Air Force Base after 35 years of service. Family members said he loved fishing, gardening and camping. He also coached Little League baseball. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder and deacon.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gene.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Vicki (and husband, Phil) Heselton of Portales and Misti Wall of Albuquerque; a son, Lonnie Wall (Cindy) of Clovis; two brothers, Herschel Wall of Clovis and Lester Wall of Riverside, Calif.; a sister, Lillian Brownlow of Clovis; and three grandchildren, Matt and Trevor Wall and Charlayne Heselton.
The Rev. Lance Clemmons will officiate the services.
Cremation will take place.
Honorary bearers will be his coffee shop buddies.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church.
Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis is handling arrangements.

Jimmy Wall
Services: Have ben held.
Mr. Jimmy R. Wall, 60, of Dora, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
He was born on Feb. 19, 1943, in Atlanta, Texas, to Ivy and Earlton Wall.
He graduated from Three Way High School in 1961 in Maple, Texas. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. Following his discharge he farmed in the Lazbuddie area then moved to Dora in 1973. He served on the Dora School Board from 1986 until 1991. He was a member of the Dora Baptist Church and served on the Dora Fire Department for 12 years. He married Jolene Dorman on June 9, 1995. Shortly after their marriage they purchased the Dora Café. For the last several months of his life he was employed in the environmental compliance services industry.
He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Bill Wall; and by his wife, Jolene.
He is survived by his partner, Wanda Reed of Clovis; two sons, James Wall (and wife, Tina) of Dora and Houston Wall (Emilie) of Causey; a step-son, Rex Minshew of Dora; a daughter, Ladean Rowe of Lubbock; a step-daughter, Nita Richards (Gene) of Dora; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his mother; and two sisters, Elizabeth Oglesby of Goldsmith, Texas, and Juanita Woolam of Lubbock.
The Rev. Eddy Mardis will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Mount Zion Cemetery in Dora.
Pallbearers will be Monty and Terry Oglesby, Stanley Woolam, Ruben Baeza, Jerry Skinner and Benny Carty.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Prater and Donnie Romero and the Dora Volunteer Fire Department.
Arrangements are by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales.

Lola Fern Walls
Services: Have been held.
Lola Fern Walls, 81, of Clovis, died Friday, Oct. 17, 2003, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
She was born on Feb. 19, 1922, in Clovis, to Wilburn and Eula Mae Mickey Faris.
She married Kent Aaros Walls on March 8, 1938, in Portales. She was a resident of Clovis for most of her life. She worked as a supervisor cashier at Fed-mart/Walgreens and ran the pharmacy for Furr’s Supermarket. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church. Family members said she enjoyed bowling, golf and archery.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Margie Smith; and one grandson, Johnny Dee Alexander.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Sondra Walker of Clovis; a son, Gary Walls (and wife, Bonnie) of Granbury, Texas; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Terry Martin will officiate the services.
Cremation has taken place.
Burial will be at Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gary, Michael and Gary Walls Jr. and Kent, Martin and Ronny Alexander.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lung Association, 61 Broadway, 6th Floor, NY, NY 10006.
Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.

Cora Ward
Services: Have been held.
Mrs. Cora Edith Ward, 95, of Clovis, a retired bookkeeper, died Friday, July 4, 2003, at Laurel Ridge Healthcare in Clovis.
She was born on July 11, 1907, in Waters Park, Texas, to Reuben Benjamin and Blanche Elizabeth Dunks.
Mrs. Ward worked for many years at Cauole Engraving Co. as bookkeeper and payroll clerk. Family members described her as a loving aunt to all her nieces and nephews. She loved to play Skip-Bo, they said.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include 12 nieces, Eleanor Garcia of Clovis, Lorena Lord of Utah, Alice Pierson of South Dakota, Wanda Forste of Portales, Marian VanWagenen of Phoenix, Onita (and husband Al) Smith of Weiser, Idaho, Willa “Jan” Green of Los Angeles, Katherine (and husband Arthur) Shelton, Norma Schumacher and Cora Patricia (and husband T.) Byrd, all of Corpus Christi, Texas, Laverne Frazier of Hopewell, Va., and Laurene Paulson of California; five nephews, Odean (and wife Gwen) Brown and Dwayne Brown, of Pomona, Calif., Cecil (and wife Frances) Williams of Eureka, Calif., Alton (and wife June) Williams of Visalia, Calif., and Francis (and wife Edith) Williams of Deborgia, Mont.
The Rev. Phil Grace will officiate the services.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.

Loren Ward
Services: Have been held.
Mr. Loren Ward, 28, of Tyler, Texas, formerly of Portales, died Sunday, May 18, 2003, in East Texas Medical Center in Tyler, Texas.
He was born on Sept. 2, 1974, in Portales, to Teresa and James P. Ward.
He graduated from Clovis High School in 1993. He served for a short time in the U.S. Marine Corps. After receiving his discharge he was employed at Teague Strebeck Auto Dealership and later worked at Plains Regional Medical Center as a respiratory therapy technician. He married Angelica Salazar on Oct. 9, 1998. In August 2002 he and his family moved to Chandler, Texas, where he was attending Tyler Junior College to become a registered respiratory therapist. He was a member of the Christian Church of God in Amarillo.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, John Casaus and Russell Ward.
He is survived by his wife, Angelica Ward of Chandler, Texas; two sons, Christian and Julian Ward, both of Portales; two daughters, Sophia Ward of Portales and Lisa Marie Ward of Amarillo; his parents; his mother and father-in-law, Maria and Manuel Salazar of Portales; his maternal grandmother, Virginia Casaus of Clovis; his paternal grandmother, Ann Ward of Illinois; two sisters, Kim Barela and Regina Delgado, both of Chandler, Texas; and three nieces.
Joe Kirkpatrick will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Mission Garden of Memories Cemetery in Clovis.
Pallbearers will be Eric and Brian Oaklief, Joe Delgado, Rick Barela, Robert Romero and James Casaus.
Arrangements are by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales.

Leonard Lawrence Ware
Services: Have been held.
Leonard Lawrence Ware, 95, of Phoenix, died Wednesday, May 12, 2004, in Phoenix.
He was born on Aug. 25, 1908, in Corsicana, Texas, to Jefferson and Effie Ware.
He was a retired minister.
Survivors include his wife, Loleta Ware; and three daughters, Ruby Copeland, Velma Kirk and Leta Smith.
Burial will be at Green Acres Cemetery in Scottsdale, Ariz. Arrangements are by Green Acres Mortuary of Scottsdale.

Elva Marie Warren
Services: Have been held.
Elva Marie Warren, 89, of Texico died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003, at Retirement Ranch in Clovis.
She was born Aug. 23, 1914, in Indianola, Okla., to G.W. and Cordia Mays. Family members said she was a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Drew Warren; a brother, Carl Mays; a sister, Flossie Pierce, and a son, Drew Larry Warren
Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn (and husband Jim) Burrows of Texico, three grandsons, three granddaughters and 11 great-grandchildren
Burial will be at 2 p.m. (CST) Saturday at the City of Lubbock Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Dane Warren, Chet Burrows, Bret Burrows, and great-grandsons Spencer Kube, Tanner Kube and Hoyt Burrows.
Memorial contributions may be made to the missionary fund at High Plains Baptist Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.

Rosa Darlene Washington
Services: Have been held.
Rosa Darlene Washington, 56, of Earth, Texas, a homemaker, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, in Littlefield, Texas.
She was born on July 24, 1947, in Clovis, to Robert D. Williams and Bessie Johnson.
She attended public schools in Clovis. She married Marvin Washington on Dec. 22, 2000, in Muleshoe.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Jimmy and Bob Williams; a grandson, Dakota Taylor; and a sister, Sue Callahan.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Connie Patton of Phoenix and Sheila Watson of Pueblo, Colo.; three sisters, Marianne Lowery of Chicago, Peggie Clayton of Cherokee Village, Ark., and Rosa B. Box of Clovis; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The Rev. Billy Finch, the Rev. Norman Clayton and the Rev. Pat Robinson will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Earth Memorial Park in Earth, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Tony Padilla, Kyle and Craig Jones, Donald Robinson, Brandon Patton and Charles Lee.
Arrangements are by McCarty Funeral Home in Littlefield, Texas.

Marvin Watts
Services: Have been held.
Marvin Watts, 71, a former state senator, died Friday, May 2, 2003, at St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe.
He was born April 6, 1932, in Portales to William Ellis and Jewel Holder Watts.
He married his wife Mary on July 25, 1952, in the Baptist Bible Chair Chapel at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales. The couple had three sons.
He earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree from ENMU. He also did advanced studies at Kansas State University and Oklahoma State University.
He worked for Dow Chemical, New Mexico Military Institute, Southwest Potash, Amax and Eddy Potash. He also was active in the management of the family ranch, as well as a consultant for the potash industry.
Earlier this year, Gov. Bill Richardson reappointed Watts to the Governors Blue Ribbon Task Force on Water. In 2002, President George W. Bush appointed him as the federal representative to the Pecos River Compact Commission.
He served as vice president of the New Mexico Cattle Growers Association from 1992-1995. He received the Albert K. Mitchell Award as Outstanding Republican of New Mexico in 1977.
He will lie in state from 3-9 p.m. Monday at Denton-Funchess Funeral Home in Carlsbad.
The Rev. Bob Bacon will officiate the services.
Interment will take place at Carlsbad Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bill Travelstead, Hoyt Pattison, Homer Collier, Dale Janway, John Allen and Steve McCutcheon. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Purvis, Rando Foote, Bill Phillips and Jay Mobley.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Paragon Foundation, 1200 N. White Sands Blvd. #110, Alamogordo, N.M. 88310.
Arrangements are by Denton-Funchess Funeral Home.

Virgil “Dan” Sheridan Weekley
Virgil “Dan” Sheridan Weekley, 69, a retired electronics technician, died Sunday, July 6, 2003, at his home in Clovis.
He was born May 8, 1934, in Pennsboro, W. Va., to Kenneth and Edith Jack Weekley.
He served in the Army during the Korean conflict and later joined the U.S. Air Force. He was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal. He retired in 1974 after 20 years of active duty. He worked 22 years as an electronics technician for Pruit TV and Appliance and five years for Sears.
He married Patricia Mosley on Sept. 17, 1960. They moved to Clovis and Cannon Air Force Base in 1967 and raised their family. He was a member of the First Christian Church. Family members said he enjoyed playing golf and walking at the mall.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jim; and a sister, Paulette Barton, of West Virginia.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Sherry Weekley of Clovis and Kelly Weekley of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a son, Brett Weekley of Clovis; a granddaughter, Hali Jo Weekley of Clovis; two sisters, Pam Buelow (and husband Dick) of Ohio and Robin Mills of West Virginia; three brothers: John Weekley of Las Vegas, Nev., Kenny Weekley (and Ingrid) of Ohio and Don Weekley of West Virginia; and stepmother, Marguerite Weekley of West Virginia.
Rev. Jon Forrest of First Christian Church will officiate services.
Military honors are by Cannon Air Force Base Honor Guard.
Burial will be in Santa Fe National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Randy Holder, Mike Huerta, Bill Wallace, Charles Copeland, Keith Risdon and Brett Weekley.
Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.

Thomas Weir
Services: Have been held.
Mr. Thomas E. Weir Jr., 76, of Alexandria, Va., died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003.
He was born on Feb. 7, 1927, in Clovis.
He served in the U.S. Navy Pacific fleet from 1944 to 1946 aboard the USS Lanier in World War II, landing amphibious craft in Nagasaki, Japan weeks following the bombing. He continued his service as a radar operator. He married Mary Jean Edwards in 1947.
He was preceded in death by his wife.
He is survived by two sons, Michael L. and Steven T. Weir, both of Alexandria, Va.; three sisters, Bessie Fay Bedinger of Liberty, Mo., Lena May Griffin and Fannie Irene Hisle, both of Clovis; and three grandsons, Howard Miller III of West Virginia, Trevor H. Weir and Casey H. Weir, both of Alexandria; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. (EDT) Wednesday at Demaine Funeral Home in Alexandria, Va.
Burial will be at Ivy Hill Cemetery in Alexandria, Va.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Geneva Weiser
Services: Have been held.
Mrs. Geneva Irene Weiser, 78, of Bristow, Okla., died Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at Roosevelt General Hospital in Portales.
She was born on March 29, 1925, to Dora Elizabeth and Roy Hoover.
She came to Portales to be with her sister for a birthday celebration and became ill.
She is survived by a son, Gary Henderson of Bristow; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Volita Killgore of Portales.
Arrangements are by Hutchins Maple Funeral Home of Bristow.

Lynn Westbrook
Services: Have been held.
Mr. Lynn Westbrook, 83, of Clovis, a businessman and trucker, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
He was born on Feb. 19, 1920, in Melrose.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Jesteen Robbs on July 4, 1941, in Las Vegas, Nev. He was a member of the Curry County Mounted Patrol and the Elks club. He had a career lasting 46 years as an owner/operator of Westbrook Trucking and Western Flying Service and Cattle Business.
He was preceded in death by his wife; a brother, Walter Westbrook; and a sister, Rose Gattis.
He is survived by a son, Curtis Lynn “Jeep” Westbrook Jr. (and wife, Anita) of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Curt and Alicia Westbrook, both of Albuquerque and Doyle Westbrook (Debbie) of Clovis; a great-granddaughter, Wednesday Westbrook of Clovis; a sister, Virginia Drager of Farwell; and a brother, Sam Hines Lompoc, California.
The Rev. Herbert Bergstrom will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Walls, Ben Littlejohn, Aaron Drager, Bobby and Randy Westbrook and Floyd Davis.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Curry County Mounted Patrol.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.
