ARNITA WILLMON
Services: Have been held.
Arnita McCain Willmon, 91, of Clovis, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
She was born on May 18, 1912, in Smithfield, Texas, to Charles Robert and Nancy Jane Wilkinson McCain.
As a young woman she enjoyed singing with her three sisters, and playing basketball on the Pleasant Run 1929 championship team with her twin sister, Juanita, her first cousin and three friends.
They were nick-named the “Six Silly Sisters.”
She worked several years at General Dynamics and also at Dickies, where she sewed men’s work clothing.
She married Earl Willmon on June 19, 1943.
Family members said she was known as an excellent cook and seamstress and enjoyed craft projects and working in her yard and garden.
She was a gracious hostess and enjoyed domino parties playing “42.” She was a member of the Clovis Advent Christian Church for over 60 years.
She was active in the Women’s Home and Foreign Mission Society, taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, sang in choir and ensembles and volunteered wherever needed.
Survivors include husband Earl; two sons, Ken Willmon (and wife, Charlotte) of Chandler, Ariz., and Mike Willmon (Leigh) of Clovis; a daughter, Nelda and her husband Tom Lobb of Kent, Wash.; four grandchildren, Stephen, Jeffrey, Megan and Margo; five step-grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of her Sunday School class and life-long family friend, Winnie Bell.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Clovis Advent Christian Church Memorial Fund, Salvation Army, Lighthouse Mission or Life Saver Food Bank.
Dr. Louia Gransee will officiate.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.

Irene Elizabeth Wilson
Mrs. Irene Elizabeth Wilson, 73, of Clovis, a homemaker, died Monday, Aug. 18, 2003, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
She was born on Dec. 6, 1929, in Gilmer County, Ga., to Herman and Velvie Cochran Weaver.
She married Lamon Wilson Sr. on Dec. 11, 1945, in Blue Ridge, Ga. They moved to Dumas, Texas, in 1955 and to Clovis in 1965. She was a member of Texico Assembly of God. Family members said she was a homemaker in every sense of the word, was a loving mother who was involved in all of her children's activities, enjoyed cooking for her family and liked to go fishing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Mariann Adams; two sisters; a brother; and a grandson, Brian Wilson.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Imagene Rainey (and husband, Stevon) of Amarillo; three sons, Lamon "Bill" Wilson Jr. and Hoyt Wilson (Ann), both of Dalton, Ga. and Leon Wilson (Carolyn) of Clovis; 16 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Bob Burris will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
Pallbearers will be Ryan and Caleb Wilson, Michael Adams, Rick Gibson, Johnny Lucero and Mickey Craven.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Texico Assembly of God Building Fund or to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.

Wilson, Jerrita
Ms. Jerrita Wilson, 48, of Portales, died Monday, April 21, 2003, at Roosevelt General Hospital in Portales.
She was born on Aug. 26, 1954, in Portales, to Joyce and J.W. Wilson.
She grew up in Portales and graduated from Portales High School in 1972. She went on to attend beauty school in Clovis, and worked for several years as a beautician in area shops. She had been disabled for nearly 20 years. Family members said she was an artistic lady, drawing pictures then enhancing them with embroidery. She enjoyed science fiction stories and liked to watch the Sci-Fi channel.
She was preceded in death by her father.
She is survived by a daughter, Kristina Clark of Portales; two grandchildren; her mother; a brother, Mickey Lee Wilson of Portales; and two sisters, Sharon Tinsley of Portales and Nita Marie Buris of Dallas.
Arrangements were by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales.

Leon Wilson
Services: Have been held.
Mr. Leon H. Wilson, 44, of Clovis, died Friday, Sept. 12, 2003, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
He was born Feb. 17, 1959, in Dumas, Texas, to Lamon and Irene Elizabeth Weaver Wilson.
He married Carolyn Jobe on Aug. 4, 1984, in Clovis. He worked as a radiator repairman at Wilson Radiator. He opened Everlasting Creations in 1992. Family members said he enjoyed fishing, gardening, woodworking and cooking.
He was preceded in death by his mother; a sister, Mariann Adams; and a nephew, Brian Wilson.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Caleb Wilson of Clovis; a daughter, Amber Wilson of Clovis; his father; two brothers, Lamon "Bill" Wilson Jr. and Hoyt Wilson (and wife, Ann), all of Dalton, Ga; a sister, Imagene Rainey (Stevon) of Amarillo; and 32 nieces and nephews.
The family will be at the Wilson home at 101 Sandia Drive in Clovis.
The Rev. Bobby Burris will officiate the services.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Miller, Rick Gibson, Michael Adams, Johnny Lucero, Mickey Craven and Karl Worm.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Dawson and Steve Burns.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and Texico Assembly of God Building Fund.
Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.

Ruby Joyce Bell Wilson
Services: Have been held.
Mrs. Ruby Joyce Bell Wilson, 76, of Portales, died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, at her home.
She was born on May 6, 1927, in Santa Anna, Texas, to Cora Lee and Conrad T. Bell.
She was raised in the Rogers community where she attended school. She attended Beauty School in Clovis and became one of the instructors. She later opened Kountry Kurl Beauty Shop in Portales. She retired in the mid 1970s, but volunteered to do hair for the ladies at the local rest home. She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church. Family members said she was an accomplished seamstress and painted on fabric, producing many unique items. She enjoyed crocheting, crafts of various types and antique collecting.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Wilburn Bell; a sister, June Ivy Willis; a daughter, Jerrita Ann Wilson; and her husband, Jerry Wilson.
Survivors include a son, Mickey Lee Wilson (and wife, Anna) of Portales; a daughter, Sharon Tinsley (Earl) of Portales; a step-daughter, Nita Marie Buris (Larry) of Dallas; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Tommy Lee Bell of Arkansas; and two sisters, Margaret Irene Willis of Portales and Patsy Dawn Fletcher of Amarillo.
Scott P. Reeves will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Portales Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mark and Bart Tinlsey, Brad, Larry and Kelly Goodrum and Kevin Seawright.
Arrangements are by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales.

David Wilt
Services: Have been held.
Mr. David Michael Wilt, 47, of Clovis, died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
He was born on Dec. 23, 1955, in Ardmore, Okla., to Peter Charles and Anita Kipp Wilt.
He came to Clovis in 1960 and graduated from Clovis High School in 1973. He was a mechanic at Prince Marine in Clovis. Family members said he enjoyed racing dirt bikes and go-karts and loved the mountains and golfing with his dad.
He is survived by one son, Kane Michael Wilt of Hereford; his parents; four sisters, Dr. Leslie Rebtoy (and husband, Scott) of Tulsa, Okla., Barbara Hardin (Dudley) of Clovis, Diane Wilt (Greg Ollom) of Dallas, and Nora Gaddis (Justin) of Monahans, Texas; two brothers, Pete M. Wilt (Shari) of Hereford and Larry Wilt (Lisa) of Ruidoso.
The Rev. Richard Burke will officiate the services.
Cremation has taken place.
Honorary pallbearers will include Jarrell Williams, Harry K. Smith, Steve Chambers, Wynn McDonald and Chuck Childers.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hereford, Texas, Volunteer Fire Department.
Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.

Marguerite Wirt
Services: Will be held at a later date.
Ms. Marguerite Wirt, 92, of Apache Junction, Ariz., a homemaker, died Sunday, June 29, 2003, in Belgrade, Mo.
She was born on May 25, 1911, in McClure, Ohio.
She married Leo F. Wirt on April 9, 1931, in Beaverton, Mich. She was a charter member of Desert Chapel Methodist church in Apache Junction, Ariz., where she belonged to the pastors parrish board and the administrative board.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and her parents.
She is survived by five daughters, Betty A. Muscato (and husband, Frank) of Clovis, Dora B. Smigel of Phoenix, Evelyn Wahl of Belgrade, Mo., Carolyn King (and husband, Joe) of Anchorage, Alaska and Peggy Lou Wirt of Apache Junction, Ariz.; a son, Leo Wirt of Apache Junction, Ariz.; 36 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place.
Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.

Shaylyn Wise
Services: Have been held.
Ms. Shaylyn Marie Wise, 14, of Lakewood, Colo., died Wednesday, June 11, 2003, in Lakewood.
She was born on May 4, 1989.
She was preceded in death by two great-grandfathers; a great-grandmother; and a great-uncle.
She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Lori Wise and Eddie Chavez of Lakewood; a sister, Sydney Chavez of Lakewood; two uncles, James Edwards and Richard Edwards (and wife, Dawn), all of Lakewood; an aunt, Sharon Loflin (and husband, Tim) of Portales; grandparents, Kenneth and Rebecca Edwards of Denver; great-grandmothers, Eva Lucas and Rosamond Edwards, both of Denver; and numerous great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins.
Arrangements were by Horan and McConaty Funeral Home of Denver.

Ina Wood
Services: Have been held.
Ina Mardee Grissom Wood, 74, of Farwell, died Sunday, April 25, 2004, at her home.
She was born on Sept. 23, 1929, in Tulia, Texas, to Windsor and Ina Lacewell.
She attended public schools in Rosedale. She studied cosmetology in Clovis. She married Herman Grissom on Dec. 25, 1949, in Artesia. They farmed in the Rhea, Texas, community north of Bovina, Texas. She was a member of he First Baptist Church of Farwell. She worked as a beautician until she retired in 1991. She married A.V. “Woody” Wood of Muleshoe on Nov. 13, 1994, in Muleshoe.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, Larry Grissom of Friendswood, Texas, Royce Grissom (and wife, Karen) of Grand Junction, Colo., Don Grissom (Doris) of Grand Prairie, Texas, Faron “Chip” Grissom (Rhonda) of Loveland, Colo., and Gary Wood (Sue) of Midland, Texas; two sisters, Ruddene Crowley of Farwell and Billie Francis Parten of Hereford, Texas; two brothers, Dale Lacewell of Bryan, Texas, and Windsor “Lace” Lacewell of Ruidoso; nine grandchildren, Justin, Brandon, Reagan, Calley, Callen and Cody Grissom, David Sorley and Michael Wood; and a great-grandchild, Shandon Baker.
The Rev. Ken Moore and the Rev. Randy Mullin will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Bovina Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Justin, Brandon, Cody and Callen Grissom, David C. Sorley, Michael Wood, Shandon Baker, Greg Actkinson and Chad Griswold.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are by Ellis Funeral Home of Muleshoe.

Parker Woodul
Services: Have been held.
Mr. Parker A. Woodul, 92, of Portales, died Friday morning, June 4, 2004, at his home.
He was born Oct. 21, 1911, in Wellington, Texas, to Ida and Henry J. Woodul.
Mr. Woodul graduated from high school. He went on to graduate from Texas A&M with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural education in 1934. In 1941 he completed a master’s degree at Colorado State University. He belonged to the First Baptist Church. Parker served in the Army during World War II. Among the many medals he was awarded were the Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. He was married to Bobbye Daniels on Dec. 19, 1936, in Carlsbad. During their marriage they traveled to every continent. Mr. Woodul was known for his friendly smile and his hard work for the good of the community.
Mr. Woodul was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lex and Finley Woodul; a sister, Lois Woodul; one son, William Jenkins Woodul; two daughters, Sharon Woodul and Mary Ann Woodul; and his beloved wife.
He is survived by two sons, Jack Daniels Woodul (and wife Carolyn) of Raton; and James Edward Woodul (Lida) of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren, Douglas Parker Woodul (Amy) of Round Rock, Texas, Jon Christopher Woodul (Kim) of Keller, Texas, Robert Conrad Woodul of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Aaron Zachariah Woodul of Houston; and three great-grandchildren, Austin Parker Woodul, Kaylie Woodul and C. J. Woodul.
Burial will be at Portales Cemetery.
Dr. Herbert Bergstrom will officiate the services, assisted by Betty Williamson.
Pallbearers are Douglas Woodul, Chris Woodul, Grady Jenkins, John Atchley, Eldin Cooper and Dewey Langston.
The members of the Portales Rotary Club will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Arrangements are by Wheeler Mortuary in Portales.

Mona Workman

Mrs. Mona L. Workman, 72, of Clovis, died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003, at her home.
She was born on March 10, 1931, in Slaton, Texas, to Edmond H. and Connie Maxwell Hicks.
She married T.J. Workman on March 29, 1958, in Clovis. She was a former Avon sales representative. Family members said she loved to play games. She was a member of the West 21st Street Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Edmond Hicks Jr.; a son, Jay Dale Lewis; and her step-father, Hubert Beevers.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Gary A. Lewis (and wife, Christie) of Newport News, Va., and Tom Workman (Julie) of Warrenton, Va.; two daughters, Deborah Brinson (Will) of San Antonio and Kim Zurbriggen of San Diego; two brothers, Norman Hicks (Margaret) of Jal and James Hicks (Sue) of Hobbs; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Cecil Bunch will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Clifford Wormington
Services:Have been held.
Mr. Clifford Wormington, 80, of Portales, died Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
He was born on April 19, 1923, in Minco, Okla., to Ida and Chester H. Wormington.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He moved to California where he went to work at a saw mill, retiring in 1985 and moving to Portales. He married Dorothy Schnizler on Dec. 11, 1965. After her death in 1993, he married Shirley Ford on June 29, 1996, in Portales. He was a member of the Third and Kilgore Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Dortha and Melba; and his wife, Dorothy.
He is survived by his wife Shirley; his children, Allen and Carol Schnizler of Cassville, Mo., Dale and Lisa Wormington of North Charleston, S.C., Julia and Robert Schnizler of Potter Valley, Calif., Kathy and Ray Morris of Corbett, Ore., Patty and Paul Cantrell of Willits, Calif. and Michelle and David Boone of Oregon, Wis.; a step-son, Gary Ford (and wife, Cita) of Henrietta, Texas; a step-daughter, Sherry Trudo (and husband, Kevin) of Portales; 16 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Marvin Wormington of Willits, Calif., Lester Wormington of McKinleyville, Calif. and Bill Wormington of Sparks, Nev.; two sisters, Zelma Holmes of Ukiah, Calif. and Joyce Kendrick of Republic, Mo.
David Bennett and Jim Kendrick will officiate the services.
Burial will be at Portales Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bob Harmon, C.H. and Eldon Hays, Warren Funk and Marvin and Troy Newton.

D. Mark Worten Jr.
Services: Have been held.
Mr. D. Mark Worten Jr., 53, of Portales, died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003, at his home.
He was born on April 2, 1950, in Mangum, Okla., to Virginia and Don Worten Sr.
He graduated from York High School in York, Neb., in 1968. He graduated in 1973 from Pepperdine University in Los Angeles with a degree in kinesiology. He worked with the Spastic Children’s Foundation in Los Angeles for several years and later became a bus operator for Los Angeles County, where he was employed for 17 years.
He married Raquel Soto on March 3, 1990, in Pasadena, Calif. He received a medical retirement in 1995, and in 1996 he and his family moved to Chama. They moved to Portales in 1997 and purchased a small farm. In 1998 he established a custom baling and swathing operation for area farmers. He was a member of the Faith Family Christian Church in Clovis. Family members said he enjoyed bow hunting, archery and fishing.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Aaron James Worten of Portales; two step-sons, Calvin Griffin Jr. of Portales and Chris Tostenson of Georgia; his parents; and two sisters, Fran Flores of Justin, Texas, and Terry Flewellyn of Lubbock.
The Rev. Joe Watson will officiate the services.
Honorary pallbearers will be Don Worten, Hal Jilek, Glen Johnson, Ted Sharp, Lanny Hester, Calvin Griffin, Aaron Worten, Nester Jr. and Josephine Soto, Ted Flores, Ernie Scotti, Gary Padilla, Dr. James Jex and the hospice nurses.
Arrangements are by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales.

Donald Francis Wright
Service: Have been held.
Donald F. Wright, 82, died Wednesday, Jan 7, 2004, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
He was born March 20, 1921, in Franklin, Pa. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a Pharmacist Mate Second Class.
Mr. Wright has no known survivors.
Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.
