Jewel Wright
Services: Have been held.
Ms. Jewel Wright, 96, of Belen, died Sunday, July 6, 2003.
She was born June 4, 1907, in Mississippi, to James Whinery and Leona Jones.
She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Belen where she was a dedicated Sunday school teacher for many years.
In her later years, she became a member of the adult Sunday school.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Wright; three brothers; five sisters; a daughter-in-law, Dorothy; and a great-grandson, Ian Siri.
She is survived by a son, Don Wright (and wife, Elizabeth) of Utah; a granddaughter, Denise Siri (Ermano) of Reno, Nev.; four great-grandsons, Nigel, Jessie, Dylan and Sean Siri, all of Reno; a sister, Zenobia Brown of Roswell; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled for 9 a.m. today at First Baptist Church in Belen.
Bruce Baker will officiate the services.
Burial will be at 3 p.m. today at Fort Sumner Cemetery.
Brother Coy Brewer will officiate the burial.
Arrangements are by Romero Funeral Home of Belen.

Juanita Blanche Wright
Services: Have been held.
Mrs. Juanita Blanche Wright, 77, of Portales, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003, at Roosevelt General Hospital in Portales.
She was born on Nov. 13, 1925, in Mobeetie, Texas, to James Willard and Nona Belle Lea.
She lived in Texas as a child moving to New Mexico as a teenager.
She attended school at the old Portales Junior High School.
She married Johnny Martin Creed Wright in February of 1947 in Clovis.
They made their home in House.
After the death of Mr. Wright in 1977, she moved back to Portales.
She was a homemaker and child care provider for a great number of children over the years.
Family members said she loved to crochet ripple-stitch afghans and made hundreds of afghans during her lifetime.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Vernon, Isaac and Kenneth Lea; and an infant son.
She is survived by a daughter, Caryol Wright of Portales; a granddaughter, Lanona Kobernick of Pampa, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Destiny and Savannah Kobernick, both of Pampa, Texas; and a brother, Emery Lea of Albuquerque.
The Rev. Dick Ross will officiate the services.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society.
Arrangements are by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales.

Frederick Wuori
Services: Have been held.
Mr. Frederick A. Wuori, 88, of San Antonio, died Saturday, July 12, 2003, in San Antonio.
He was born March 2, 1915, in Duluth, Minn., to Charles Frederick and Selma Kagas Wuori.
He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota in 1939.
He served in the U.S. Army as first lieutenant during World War II with the 45th Quartermasters Truck Battalion in the China, Burma and India theater of operations.
He had the opportunity of to serve with “Merrill’s Marauders.”
After his honorable discharge from the Army, he became a member of the internal audit staff of United Nations Rehabilitation and Relief Act (UNRRA) and was sent to Paris.
Upon completion of his duties with UNRRA, he entered Georgetown University and earned a master’s degree.
He was a professor of economics at colleges in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Indiana and retired from Eastern New Mexico University in 1980.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth M. Wuori.
He is survived by a daughter, Ann Wuori Gonsalves (and husband, Stephen) of San Antonio; three grandchildren, Alison Marie, Chase Frederick and Nicholas Abraham, all of San Antonio; and a brother, Wendell Wuori and his family, Monnie Wuori, Jean Stoneberg and John Wuori, all of Minneapolis.
Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. (CDT) at Park Hill Cemetery in Duluth.
Arrangements are by Puente and Sons Funeral Chapels of San Antonio.

Antonio Zamora
Services: Have been held.
Mr. Antonio “Tony” Zamora, 89, of Portales, died Friday, May 21, 2004, at Doctor’s Medical Center in Modesto, Calif.
He was born on May 2, 1915, in Fort Sumner, to Maria and Martin Zamora.
He grew up in Ft. Sumner.
He married Amelia Maestas on March 26, 1938, in Olton, Texas.
He worked for many years in farming before being employed as a custodian by Eastern New Mexico University in 1968.
He continued there until retiring in 1976.
He moved to Tracy, Calif., to be near his family, and returned to Portales in 1981.
He was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church and had worked as an elderly companion for the Community Services Center in Portales.
He was also active in Abuelitos and Senior Citizens.
He had been living in California since 1998.
Family members said he enjoyed storytelling, music, dancing and playing dominoes.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Daniel and Phillip Zamora; two daughters, Pilar Gomez and Ramona Zamora; five brothers; a sister; and his wife.
Survivors include a son, Tony Zamora (and wife, Geraldine) of Burson, Calif.; five daughters, Rita Sena of Portales, Florinda Payne of Vancouver, Wash., Lupe Nieto (Guadalupe) of Syracuse, Kan., Susie Aragon (Gilbert) of Santa Fe and Suzanne Zamora of Clovis; 30 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Alfonsa Zamora of El Paso, Texas, and Dometilia Zamora of Fort Collins, Colo.
A rosary is scheduled at 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Helen Catholic Church in Portales.
The Rev. Tobin Hitt wil officiate the services.
Burial will be at Portales Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Patrick Griffin, Joe-Manuel Sigala, Joe Adrian Mondragon, Jim Arias, Jesse Zamora and John Sena.
Arrangements are by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales.

Juana “Corina” Turrietta Zamora
Services: Have been held.
Juana “Corina” Turrietta Zamora, 63, a resident of Mountainair and Clovis, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, in Mountainair.
She was born on May 26, 1940, in Manzano, to Manuel and Cornelia Romero Turrietta.
She married Luis Zamora in February 1965 in Vaughn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Juan Jose Turrietta; and a son, Juan Bautista Zamora.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, Ralph Zamora of Clovis, Gene Zamora (and wife, Roberta “Birdie” Arias) of Manzano, Pedro Zamora (Consuelo Quintana) of Clovis and Richard Zamora (Catrina) of Amarillo; five daughters, Mary Ann “Bungie” Ramirez (George) of Manzano, Grace Anna Zamora Lajuenesse (Joe) of Manzano, Consuelo “Gordie” Zamora of Clovis, Maria “Tonie” Zamora of Mountainair and Melissa “Mela” Zamora, (Ray) Garcia of Mountainair; a sister, Gloria Henshaw of Albuquerque; 22 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Florian Renaud officiated the services.
Burial was at Manzano Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Gene and Larry Zamora, Georgie Ramirez, Joseph Lajuenesse, Mike Gallegos and Ray Garcia.
Honorary pallbearers are Pedro, Ralph and Richard Zamora, Joe Lajuenesse, Eli and George Ramirez Sr., Will Arias, Orlando Chavez, Edward Lopez and Paul Coddin.
Arrangements were by Harris-Hanlon Mortuary of Mountainair.

Ruzilla Zamora
Services: Have been held.
Miss Ruzilla Zamora, 88, of Clovis, died Sunday, May 16, 2004, at Laurel Ridge Healthcare in Clovis.
She was born on Sept. 19, 1915, in Chloride, to Frank and Eufemia Truillo Zamora.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Emma Brown; and a brother, Frank Zamora Jr.
Survivors include a sister, Mary Brown of Albuquerque; 16 nieces and nephews; numerous great-nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Del Zamora of San Diego.
Burial will be at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.

Glynn B. Martin
Services: Have been held.
Glynn B. Martin, 81, of Clovis, died Sunday, April 25, 2004, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
He was born on July 18, 1922, in Coalgate, Okla., to Lee and Dora Martin.
He married Lorraine Case on June 27, 1949, in Amarillo.
He worked as a distributor for Tom’s and retired in 1984 after 30 years.
He was a charter member of the American Legion Post 19, a lifetime member at the Elks Lodge 1172 and a member of VFW in Tucumcari.
He was of the Episcopal faith.
Family members said he loved to play golf and fish.
He was preceded by his parents.
Survivors include his wife; two sisters-in-law, Ruby Case of Atoka, Okla., and Betty Bates of Nevada, Mo.; and five nieces.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Conchas Dam Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 60, Conchas Dam, N.M. 88416.
Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis.

George Zientara
Services: Have been held.
Mr. George Zientara, 55, of Clovis, a mechanic/motorcycle fabricator, died Saturday, May 3, 2003, at his home.
He was born on Dec. 26, 1947, in Decatur, Ill., to Auguste and Marie “Linthicum” Zientara.
He moved to Clovis when he was 6 years old and worked in his dad’s body shop while not in school.
He enjoyed working on cars and building three-wheel motorcycles.
He enjoyed being around his life-long friend Ernie Lawson, and spent a lot of time with many other friends and motorcycle enthusiasts.
He was a member of “Brothers of the Third Wheel” and attended the Golden Aspen Rally in Colorado for the past 18 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Tommy Lee Miles; a brother, Richard Zientara; a sister and brother-in law, Betty and Curly Gatchel.
He is survived by two daughters, Christina Johnson (and husband, Bobby) and Crystal Zientara of Clovis; a son, Matthew Zientara (and wife, Shelly) of Clovis; a stepson, Richard Bradshaw of Grand Prairie, Texas; a brother, Emmit Zientara of Springfield, Ill.; a sister, Opal Lobb of Roswell; 10 grandchildren; and a special friend, Johnna Hartsog.
The Rev. Charles Miller will officiate the services.
Cremation will take place following the service with private family burial to follow at a later date.
Pallbearers will be Jim Porter, Samuel Lawson, Karl Worm, Matthew Zientara, Bobby Johnson and Steve Ryan.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ernie Lawson and Dan Lawson.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.

Reba Zorns
Services: Have been held.
Reba Ferne Zorns, 89, of Austin, Texas, died Saturday, June 7, 2003, in Cedar Park, Texas.
She was born Jan. 16, 1914, in Gray, Okla., to John M. and Laura Denton Elmore.
She moved to Perryton, Texas, where she finished high school.
She lived in Brownfield from 1944 until 1955 where she had her own beauty shop.
From 1955 until 1959 she lived in Hereford, Texas, then she moved to Clovis until 1994. She married Thomas D. Zorns in 1941 in Plainview, Texas.
She was a member of Kingswood Methodist Church where she counseled divorced men and women and was named Woman of the Month for her work.
She was a Pink Lady and later president of the Hospital Auxiliary.
She moved to Austin in 1994.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Max Boyd; and a daughter, Norma Jo Worsham.
She is survived by a son, Donald R. Boyd of Leander, Texas; three grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Burial will be at Brownfield Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Beck Funeral Home of Austin.
