JOSE MARIA ESPINOZA JR., 87, of El Llano de Santa Cruz died unexpectedly Monday.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Rodriguez Espinoza; parents, Jose Maria Espinoza Sr. and Agapita Espinoza; sisters, Justina Salazar, Helen Rodriguez and Genoveva Martinez; and brothers, Jacobo and Juanito Espinoza.
He is survived by his son, James Espinoza and wife Angel; daughters, Maria Salgado and husband Oscar, and Shelly Espinoza, all of El Llano, Martha Jones and husband Dave of Los Alamos, Elizabeth Schultz of Atwater, Calif., Angela Eisenberg and husband Jerry of Maui, Hawaii, Antonette Trese and husband Greg of Oxnard, Calif.; sisters, Annie Delgado of San Pedro, Charlotte Arguello of El Llano and Belen Vigil of Fairview; 25 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. today in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at the corner of Fairview and McCurdy Lane. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

FRANK C. ROMERO, 73, of Taos died Thursday.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores Romero; daughter, Isabel Martinez; and brother, George Romero and wife Stella of San Bernardino, Calif.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Taos. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the same church with burial at the family cemetery.

MARCUS SANDOVAL, 14, of Las Vegas, N.M., died Monday at the University Medical Center in Tucson, Ariz., after a three-year battle with leukemia.
He loved life and especially his family. He ended up needing a bone marrow transplant in October of 2002.
He is survived by his mother, Frieda Sandoval and father, Ramon "Mon" Vialpando; sisters, Jaime, Amber and Jazmyne Vialpando and Jane Montano; brothers, Jonathon and Jason Vialpando, and Juan "Jr." Montano, all of Las Vegas, N.M.; dogs, Precious and Beauty; and many other relatives and friends.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at the Immaculate Conception Church. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the same church with burial to follow at the San Jose Cemetery.

POLINARIO "PAUL" MARES, 84, of upper Ranchitos died Thursday.
He retired in 1986 from the town of Taos and worked for many years for the Mabel Dodge Lujan House. He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Mares; children, Clarence Mares and wife Bonnie, John Mares and wife Stephanie, Joann Castillo and husband Sef, Delia Ortega and Frances Parraz and husband Tommy; 15 grandchildren; and sister, Isabel Valerio.
A funeral mass will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Taos with burial to follow at Dolores Cemetery.

EUFELIA E. MARTINEZ, 80, of Española died Thursday.
She was born in Youngsville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benedito and Angelina Garcia; husband, Joe Martinez; sons, Leroy Martinez, Donald Martinez and Arthur Martinez; daughter, Martha Mayall Martinez; sisters, Marcelina Serrano and Mary Lujan; and brother, Jesse Garcia.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Martinez and wife Gloria of Chimayó; daughters, Angie Romero, Rose Martinez and Jesse Martinez, all of Española; stepdaughters, Lorraine Martinez of Hawaii, and Marie Pacheco and husband Horace of Nevada; 14 grandchildren; and many other relatives.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Española. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the same church with burial to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

CHERYL CHRISTINE BOGDANOVICH MURCHY, 52, of Santa Fe died Monday after a long battle with breast cancer.
She was born in Aberdeen, Wash., to Stanley and Joyce Bogdanovich. She moved to Santa Fe in the mid-1990s and became a merchandise buyer and manager for Jackalope. She later went on to work with Shakespeare in Santa Fe and Cost Plus, and helped open and run Guadalupano Imports. She enjoyed caring for animals and had a deep compassion for all of them. She was passionate about photography, acting and drama.
She is survived by her children, Cory Murchy of Seattle, Wash., and Sarah Murchy of Santa Fe; companion, Cody Potter; and sisters, Julie Loncar, Lorrie Bogdanovich and Connie Bogdanovich of Washington.
A visitation will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, followed by a memorial service at 7 p.m. at Berardinelli Family Chapel.

CAROLINE VIGIL GALLEGOS, 82, of Albuquerque died Monday.
She was born in Clayton and graduated from Clayton High School. She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Manuel Gallegos and son, Raymond Eugene. She is survived by her daughter, Alicia Joanne Barron; sons, David Joseph Gallegos and wife RoseAnne, Jerry Anthony Gallegos and wife Anita, Gilbert Lee and wife Angelica; brother, Candido Vigil and wife Marie; six grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held 6:30-7 p.m. Thursday with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal SW. A final visitation will be held 8:30-9 a.m. Friday at the same church with Mass to be celebrated at 9 a.m. with burial to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Gabaldon Mortuary, (505) 243-7861.
