WILLIAM VINCENT KIRKPATRICK of Santa Fe died suddenly Saturday. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Francis Cathedral Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Fine Arts for Children and Teens, P.O. Box 22363, Santa Fe, N.M. 87502.

SYLVIA L. MALDONADO, 61, of Las Vegas, N.M. died Saturday. She retired from the Las Vegas Medical Center and the State of New Mexico after serving for 26 years. She was an active volunteer for the Big Brother, Big Sisters and many other organizations. She was preceded in death by her father, Tony A. Maldonado. She is survived by her daughter, Zena L. Trujillo of Española; mother, Frances "Kika" Maldonado of Las Vegas, N.M.; brother, John Maldonado and wife Sylvia of Las Vegas, N.M.; sisters, Mary Ann Sanchez-Esquibel of Albuquerque, Betty Jane LeBlanc and husband David of Thornton, Colo., and Berry May Ajuziem of Las Vegas, N.M.; longtime partner, Severano Griego; daughter, Helen; 16 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Burial will follow at a later date in the San Jose Cemetery in Anton Chico. JUAN SIGFREDO ROMERO, 80, of Lyden, died Saturday after a long illness. He was a member of the Laborers Union Local No. 16, La Morada de Lyden, the Cursillista and SPMDTU. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tobias and Bersabe Romero; son, Roy A. Romero; brothers, Abenicio, Pete, Juan C., Filiberto and Adonaise Romero. He is survived by his wife, Edulia Romero of Lyden; children, Ignacita Trujillo and husband Valentin, Tobias Romero and wife Maria, James Romero and Gary Romero, all of Lyden, Marvin Romero and wife Loyola and Cheryl Sanchez and husband Tony, all of Los Luceros, Darlene Romero of Española, Eileen Martinez and husband Carey of Velarde, Lloyd Romero of Los Luceros and Rosie Romero of Lyden; 15 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Mass will be celebrated at noon today at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Velarde with burial to follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. LOUISE C. ROMERO, 73, died Sunday after a battle with diabetes. She worked alongside her husband for many years in their store, Jefferson Liquors. She was a retiree of the State of New Mexico Energy and Minerals Department. She was preceded in death by her parents, Justo and Josfita Lucero; and brother Raymond Lucero. She is survived by her husband, Ben Romero; son Bernard Romero; daughters, Bernadette Dunbar and husband Elihu, Georgette Romero, Suzette Hegg and husband David, and Claudette Gordon and husband Patrick; son, David Romero of the family home; 12 grandchildren; brothers, Joe Lucero and wife Thelma and Tony Lucero and wife Mary; sisters, Flora Krueder, Sadie Sanchez, Carmen Arellano, Mary Louise Gallegos, Virginia Herrera and husband Louis, Dolores Cameron and husband Justin, and Georgia Otten and husband Leonard and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. today with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at McGee Memorial Chapel. VICTOR C. SANDOVAL, 90, of Chacon died Sunday after a long illness. He was a graduate of Menaul High School in Albuquerque and a combat veteran of World War II, having served in Belgium, Germany, Czechoslovakia and Luxembourg in the European Theater of Operations. He was a sergeant and squad leader in the U.S. Army with Company I of the 11th Infantry. He lead his squad on patrol recon under adverse conditions. He was the recipient of two Bronze Stars, the Purple Heart with one bronze cluster, the Bronze Star medal and a citation for valor under fire. He was a lifelong rancher and loved tinkering with farm implements. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting and raising livestock. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1131 in Mora, the Order of the Purple Heart and the National Rifle Association. He was the chairman of the Health Centers of Northern New Mexico Board of Directors from 1972 until 2000. He was a board member of the Home Education Livelihood Program, a member and chairman of Ricones Presbyterian Credit Union Board of Directors from 1975 to 2000. He was a member of the board of directors of Siete del Norte, and a lifelong member of El Rito Presbyterian Church in Chacon. He is survived by his wife, Juanita M. Sandoval of Chacon; daughter, Shirley S. Sandoval-Aragon and husband Samuel of Las Vegas, N.M.; son, Andrew V. Sandoval of Chacon and special friend Mary Anne Sanchez; four grandchildren; and many other relatives. WILFREDO TRUJILLO, 70, of Truchas died Monday after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anastacio and Beroniz Trujillo; brother, Jose Leroy Trujillo; sisters, Maria Ercilia Murrieta and husband Sotelo, Rosela Trujillo and Teresa Padilla. He is survived by his brother, Anastacio Trujillo Jr. and wife Irene of Denver; sisters, Isabel Williams and husband Joe of Denver, and Lenore Trujillo of Truchas; and many other relatives and friends. JOSEPH CHARLES JARAMILLO, 56, died Wednesday.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Jaramillo.
He is survived by his daughters, Brandy Martinez and husband Martin, Felicia McCamey and husband Steven, and Yvette Jaramillo, all of Albuquerque; eight grandchildren; brothers, Art Jaramillo and wife Linda of Pojoaque and Earl Jaramillo and wife Frances of Santa Fe; and sister, Dru Sandoval and husband Jesus of Santa Fe.
A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at French Mortuary, Lomas Boulevard Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. Burial of cremated remains will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

CORINA LOVATO, 96, of Santa Fe died Thursday.
She was born in Los Brazos.
She was preceded in death by her lifelong companion, Ismael Salazar; parents, Santos Lovato and Vitalia Marquez Lovato; brothers, Emilio Lovato and Hilario Lovato; sisters, Fidelia Salazar and Julia Arnold; sons, Arturo Lovato and Amado Lovato; two grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
She is survived by her children, Anita Apodaca and husband Michael of Santa Fe, "Mary" Schaffner and husband Karl; Charlie Vigil and wife Ruth, Benny Vigil, Gerald Vigil and wife Jeanna; eight grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at 6 p.m. today with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at Berardinelli Family Chapel. Another rosary will be recited on at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at the same church with burial to follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

PHILLIP M. LUJAN, 37, of Santa Fe died Wednesday.
He was a lieutenant firefighter with the San Pedro-La Messila Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Española Valley Knights of Columbus No. 3314.
He is survived by his parents, Joseph and Rebecca Lujan of Española; brothers and sisters, Peggy M. and Brad Tinder, Peter M. and Mary Lujan, Pamela M. Lujan, Patrick M. and Bertha T. Lujan; and many other relatives and friends.
