Dina DesGeorges, 47, of Taos passed away on May 22, 2006. She is preceded in death by her father, Cleofas Gonzales, uncles, Erminio and Honorio Fernandez. She is survived by her husband, Sam DesGeorges, son, Adrian DesGeorges and mother, Alice F. Gonzales. She is also survived by sisters, Gloria Bradbury (David) of Santa Fe and Tina Martinez of Ranchos de Taos, uncles and aunts, Roberto Fernandez, Elizardo Fernandez (Gloria), Arturo Fernandez, Claudina Romero, Fabiola Montoya, Erlinda Varos and Arsenio Fernandez (Bertina), many other relatives and friends.
Rosary was recited on May 26, 2006 at San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church. Funeral mass was held on Saturday, May 27, 2006 at San Francisco de Asis Church.

Rose T. Mondragon
May 22, 2006
Rose T. Mondragon, 94, of Taos passed away on May 22, 2006. She was born on Aug. 30, 1911 in Chico, NM to Tobias Tafoya and Pacifica Barela. She was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother. She is preceded in death by the father of her children, Eloy J. Mondragon and daughter, Ada Mondragon Rael. She is survived by her children, Elmira Martinez (Luz), Marbella Trujillo (Jerry), Eloy Mondragon (Barbara), Doris Cordova (Jesus), Clarence Mondragon (Celina), Corelia Ulibbari (Lawrence), Tony Remington, Toby Mondragon (Diane), Ricardo Mondragon (Erminia) and Wilma Kimlicka. She is also survived by 32 grandchildren, 66 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren and many other relatives.
Rosary was held on May 24, 2006 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Funeral mass was held on May 25, 2006 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Interment followed at Nuestra Senora de Dolores cemetery in Canon.

Joe H. Chacon

Joe Herson Chacon, 84, of Rodarte passed away on May 24, 2006. He is survived by his wife, Eliria Chacon, children, Florence Cornejo (Lupe) of Denver, Judy Sanchez (Larry) of Tucson, AZ, Eloisa Torres of Denver, Phillip Chacon (Ida) of Nevada, Carmen Sanchez of Tucson, AZ, Mary Mascarenas (Anthony) of Albuquerque, LouAnn Arellano (Arnold) of Dixon, Barbara Chacon of Leadville, CO, Lucy Chacon of Rodarte, Jerry Chacon (Geraldine) of Llano and Joe F. Chacon (Nadine) of Llano and. He is also survived by brothers, Frank Davis (Louis) and Larby Davis, 19 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends.
Rosary was recited on Monday, May 29, 2006. Funeral mass was held on Tuesday, May 30, 2006. Both services were held San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Penasco. Interment was held at Santa Barbara cemetery.

Joe Herson Chacon

Lisa Jenny Chavez, 30, of Ranchos de Taos passed away on May 24, 2006. She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Isabel Romero, uncles, Carlos Chavez and Alfred Romero. She is survived by her son, Bryan M. Chavez, father, Rick H. Chavez, mother, Yolanda E. Chavez, sisters, Tina I. Chavez, Felisha M. Griego and Amanda E. Valencia, brothers, Ricky A. Chavez and Manuel A.M. Chavez. She is also survived by grandparents, Abel Salazar and Betty Vasquez, great grandmother, Teodora Tafoya, nephew, Elijah Carlos Romero, numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and other relatives.
Rosary was recited on Sunday, May 28, 2006. Funeral Mass was held on Monday, May 29, 2006. Both services were held at San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church. Interment was held at New Llano Quemado cemetery.

Leo J. Santistevan

Leo J. Santistevan, 72, of San Cristobal passed away on May 24, 2006. He is preceded in death by his wife, Connie Santistevan, parents Ruben and Delia Santistevan, brothers, David, Jimmy and Toby Santistevan and sister, Evelyn Medina. He is survived by his children, Johnny Santistevan of Salt Lake City UT, Leo Santistevan, Jr. of Taos, Arnold Santistevan of Albuquerque, 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, brothers, Ruben and Henry Santistevan, sisters, Gloria Alaniz, Elsie Griego, Angie Santistevan and close friends Merlin and Virginia Valencia, Dale and Rose Martinez and Marsha Martinez, numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Rosary was recited on Sunday, May 28, 2006. Funeral mass was held on Monday, May 29, 2006. Both services were held at San Cristobal Catholic Church. Interment was held at San Cristobal cemetery.

Otilia Martinez

Otilia Martinez, 96, of Costilla passed away on May 25, 2006. She was preceded in death by her husband Fidel Martinez, grandchildren, Gerald and Pearl Maes, Brenda Maes Martinez and Gary Martinez. She is survived by her children Erlinda Maes, Ray Martinez (Rita), Fidel Martinez, Leo Martinez (Martha) and Grace Salazar (Larry). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends..
Rosary was recited on May 26, 2006 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Costilla. Funeral mass was held on May 27, 2006 at Sacred Heart Church with interment at the Costilla Catholic cemetery.

Sarah Smith

Sarah Rachel Smith, 36, of Sunshine Valley passed away on May 29, 2006. Sarah will always be remembered for her strength and her love of animals. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Smith and mother, Jayne E. Belanger. She is survived by her partner, Steve Pohley, her son, James Belanger Smith, father, Phil Belanger and wife, Sandy of Southbridge, MA, grandmother, Betty Simon of MA and great grandmother, Phyllis Learned of MA and CA, her in-laws, Betty and Jim Kurps and brother-in-law, Darryl Smith of Miami, FL and many loving friends who supported her throughout her illness. Funeral mass was held on June 01, 2006 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Cerro.

Rosary was recited on Sunday, June 04, 2006 at Rivera Chapel. Graveside service was held on Monday, June 05, 2006 at Las Cruces cemetery.

Susan E. Medina

Susan E. Medina passed away on June 02, 2006. She was owner of Susan's Grill. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Frances Dewey, parents-in-law, Epimenio and Margarita Medina and brother, Richard Dewey. She is survived by her husband, John E. Medina, children, Wendy Harris (Ken) of Taos, Mark Harris (Patricia) of Rio Rancho, David Medina (Ana) of California, James Medina (Xochilt) of California, grandchildren, Ryann, Rachel, Kathryn and Brittney Harris, Desiree, Brandon, Erick and Anthony Medina, Raul, Blanca, Roman and Lili Martinez, many other relatives and friends.
Evening service was held on Monday, June 05, 2006 at Rivera Chapel. Funeral service was held on Tuesday, June 06, 2006 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Interment was held at Miera Family cemetery.

Annabella Tafoya

Annabella Tafoya, 73, of Canon passed away on June 04, 2006. She is preceded in death by her father, Benjamin Juan Tafoya, brother, Arthur Tafoya and sister, Patricia Tafoya. She is survived by her son, Theodoro Tafoya (Leslie), mother, Theodora Tafoya, grandchildren, Theodoro Issac and Marcos Nicholas Tafoya, great nephew she helped raise, Julian M. Romo, sisters and brothers, Toby Tafoya, Chris Tafoya (Judy), Betty Vasquez (Procopio), Beatrice Vigil, Orlando Tafoya (Sarah), Ben Tafoya, Zeke Tafoya (Stella), many other relatives and friends.
Rosary was recited on Tuesday, June 06, 2006. Funeral mass was held on Wednesday, June 07, 2006. Both services were held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Interment was held at Nuestra Senora de Dolores cemetery in Canon.

Clarence Sisneros

Clarence Sisneros, 14, of Ranchos de Taos passed away unexpectedly on June 07, 2006. He is preceded in death by his great grandparents, Vidal Sisneros, Eloy Pacheco and Gregorita Chavez. He is survived by his parents, Fred and Paula Sisneros and brother, Mateo Sisneros. He is also survived by grandparents, Pablo and Mary Alice Chavez, Joe and Helen Lujan, Ted "Tito" Medina, great grandparents, Angie Sisneros and Erlinda Pacheco, godparents, Joella Montoya-Martinez and Bobby Trujillo, aunts and, uncles, Christopher Chavez (Carla), Francisco Chavez (Samantha), Rosalie Vargas (Ruben), Lawrence Sisneros (Beth), Marcial Lujan, Ted Medina Jr., Sarah Medina, cousins, Victoria and Justin Chavez, Edward Romero, best friend, Christopher Vigil, many other close friends, numerous great aunts and cousins.
Rosary was recited on June 09, 2006 at San Francisco de Asis Catholic Church. Funeral mass was held on June 10, 2006 at San Francisco de Asis Church. Interment followed at Dolores cemetery. Paul Evaristo Martinez

Paul Evaristo Martinez, 70, of Questa passed away on June 07, 2006. He is preceded in death by his parents Rudolfo and Maria Martinez two brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Angelina Sally Martinez of Questa, children, Sandra Y. Ortega of Santa Fe, Paul Evaristo Martinez Jr. of Colorado Springs, CO, Rudy C. Martinez (Patricia) of Colorado Springs, CO, Arlene Romero (Repito) of Questa, Frank L. Martinez of Questa and Yvonne Vialpando of Santa Fe, 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends.
Memorial service was held on June 09, 2006 at Rivera Chapel. Graveside service were held on June 10, 2006 at El Pueblito cemetery.

Corina Ortega
June 10, 2006
Corina Ortega, 91, a life long resident and faithful member of St. Anthony's Parish of Questa passed away on June 10, 2006 at ST. Vincent's Hospital in Santa Fe. Mrs. Ortega was a active member of the Carmelitas, Sacred Heart League, and the Peoples Eucharist League. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose Albino and Andrellita Rael, her husband, Ruben Ortega, brothers Selimo, Honorio, J. Eli and Clarence Rael, two infant sons, and one infant daughter. She is survived by her children, Jane Gonzales (Victor), Betty Sanchez (Chris), Gabe Ortega all of Albuquerque, Elma Ortega, Loretta Ortega, Angela Chavez, Reyna Gonzales (Daniel) all of Questa, 16 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Nora Galvez (Eric), sisters-in-law, Cora and Adela Rael.
Rosary was recited on Monday, June 12, 2006. Funeral mass was held on Tuesday, June 13, 2006. Both services were held at St. Anthony Church in Questa. Interment was held at San Pedro cemetery.

Dora G. Medina

Dora G. Medina, 92, of Talpa passed away on June 12, 2006. She is preceded in death by her husband, Esias Medina, sisters, Teresita Garcia, Andelesia Gallegos, Perfecta Apodaca and brother, David Gutierrez. She is survived by her children, Bernie Garcia (Rose) of Talpa, Eliu Medina (Gloria) of Colorado, Eloy Medina of Albuquerque, Gloria Lavadie (Toby) of Taos, Frances Medina (Charlie) of Llano Quemado and Becky Espinoza of Taos . She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and brother, Augustine Cordova (Kathy) of Pueblo, CO, many other relatives and friends.
Rosary was recited on Tuesday, June 13, 2006. Funeral mass was held on Wednesday, June 14, 2006. Both services were held at Talpa Capilla. Interment was held at Talpa cemetery.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lolo and Polly Montoya, father in law, Julian Romero Sr., brother, Joseph Montoya and niece, Elena Gonzales. She is survived by her husband, Julian N. Romero, children, Laura Duran (Tom) of Rio Rancho and Matthew Romero (Monica) of Taos, grandchildren, Samantha, Mariah, Serena and Michael Duran, Brandon and Brianna Winter, Cipriana and Mariah Romero, sisters and brothers, Carmen Gonzales (Tele), Annie Montoya-McCallum (Ken), Lloyd Montoya, Mario Montoya (Sharon), Melissa Winter (James), mother in law, Julia C. Romero, brothers in law, Alex Romero (Jolly), Leo Romero, godchildren, Gwen Romero, Rhonda Montoya, Consuelo Cordova, Robert Rivera, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Rosary will be recited on Thursday, June 15, 2006 at 7 PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, June 16, 2006 at 2 PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church with interment to follow at Dolores cemetery in El Prado.
