Lois Sommer

Private family services will be held for Lois Beverly Sommer, 75, who died Oct. 28 in Las Vegas.

She was born July 9, 1928 in Los Angeles, and was a resident of Pahrump since 1992 coming from Pinion Hills, Calif.

She was a homemaker and of the Protestant faith.

Her husband Carl of Pahrump; sons William Sauer of Yreka, Calif., and Daniel Sommer of Las Vegas; daughters Lynn McCord of Grants Pass, Ore., and Janet Garcia of Pinion Hills; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren survive her.

Neptune Society of Nye County handled the arrangements. (10/28/03)

Paul Cramblet

Visitation for Paul Cramblet, 73, who died Nov. 3 in Las Vegas, will be from 9-10 a.m. today at Pahrump Family Mortuary. Graveside services will follow at Grandview cemetery.

He was born Dec. 25, 1929 in South Bend, Ind. He was a resident of Pahrump for five years coming from Arizona.

He worked as an accountant, was a member of the Masons, and belonged to Calvary Chapel church.

His wife Betty of Pahrump; daughter Tina (Denny) Vaughn of Illinois; brother Jack (Merrelyn) Cramblet of Washington; and one grandchild survive him.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice.

Patricia Haan

Graveside services for Patricia (Pat) Haan, 85, who died Nov. 12 in North Las Vegas, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Grandview cemetery, with Pastor Bob Lewis officiating.

She was born Aug. 19, 1918 in Worley, N.C. to James Caney Rector and Tennie Sams Rector. She lived in Pahrump for 15 years before entering health care facilities.

Her son James (Peggy) Kirkpatrick of Sedro Woolley, Wash.; sisters Betty Wilder of Pineville, Kent., Glenda Corey of Middleboro, Kent., Hazel Fulton and Thelma Davison, both of Goshen, Ohio; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one step-great grandson; and special friends Leo Roush and Betty Bieganski of Pahrump survive her.

A son, Charles Hunter Kirkpatrick, preceded her in death.

Lawrence Kozsey

Services have been held for Lawrence Kozsey, 74, who died Oct. 31 in Pahrump.

He was born Aug. 10, 1929 in Holland, Ohio and was a 27-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Arizona.

He was a self-employed carpenter and loved to travel. He was of the Catholic faith.

His wife Elanae of Pahrump and daughter Diane (Jim) Adraglna of Las Vegas survive him.

Gloria Phillips

Visitation for Gloria Dee Phillips, 70, who died Nov. 16 in Las Vegas, will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the Pahrump Family Mortuary chapel. Graveside services will follow at Grandview cemetery.

She was born Jan. 3, 1933 in Michigan and was a resident of Pahrump for four years, coming from Banning, Calif.

She worked as an equipment sterilizer for a veterans' hospital until her retirement in 1997, and belonged to the Second Missionary Baptist Church.

Her husband Alvin Phillips of Pahrump; daughters Beverly, Alita and Regina, all of California, Carol of Las Vegas, and Kerry of Georgia; sons Roy of Chicago and Antony of California; sisters Cora and Darlene; brother Julius; 13 grandchildren; one great grandchild; and numerous relatives and friends survive her.

Her parents and two brothers preceded her in death.

Jonathan Carrington

Visitation for Jonathan Michael Carrington, 20, who died Dec. 20 in Pahrump, will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at Pahrump Family Mortuary. Interment will follow at Grandview cemetery, with Pastor Ron Trummell officiating.

He was born April 9, 1983 in Salt Lake City, and was a resident of Pahrump for seven years coming from Kearns, Utah. He attended Pahrump Valley High School.

His mother Cora Clement-Bishop and stepfather Edward Bishop of Pahrump; brothers Jerry and Joshua Carrington of Pahrump; sister Shante Ure of Salt Lake City; grandparents Bruce and Mary Hansen of Gunnison, Utah and Jerry and Sharon Carrington of Spokane, Wash.; nieces Jada Carrington and Layla Carrington, both of Pahrump; six aunts; and four uncles survive him.

His father, Eric Nuesmeyer, and his paternal grandparents preceded him in death.

William Scott

A memorial service for William Scott, 57, who died Dec. 28 in Pahrump, will be held at noon Friday at the Neptune Society of Nye County chapel.

He was born Jan. 28, 1946 in Ohio, and was a resident of Pahrump since July 2002, coming from Las Vegas.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and then worked in maintenance for a hotel casino.

He was a member of the S.O.S. Club, and loved parties, jazz and motorcycles.

His mother Josephine Weatherspoon of Pahrump; wife Debbie Scott-McKinney of Las Vegas; sons Billy Scott of Columbus, Ohio, Sean Scott of Pahrump, and Kenny Scott of Sandusky, Ohio; daughters Dawn Davis, Ebony Scott and Tobias Johnson, all of Sandusky; brothers Charles (Josephine) Scott of Elyria, Ohio, Alvin (Jennifer) Scott and Evert (Joanne) Scott, both of Las Vegas; sisters Robin (Walter) Dorand-Rudolph of Stewart Valley, Calif., and Rosilyn Sunahara of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren survive him.

His father, Alvin Scott, preceded him in death.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope House in Las Vegas.

Richard Sears

A memorial service for Richard S. Sears, 63, who died Dec. 27 in Las Vegas, will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 10 at St. Augustine's Church in Elkridge, Md.

He was born Aug. 20, 1940 in Salem, Mass., and was a resident of Pahrump since 1995.

He worked as the chief of engineering for a hotel casino.

His wife Diane of Pahrump; brother Robert Sears of Cleveland, Ga.; sisters Ann (Vern) Moore of Pahrump; Nancy O'Donnell of Glastonbury, Conn., and Janet (Joel) Karliner of Windsor, Conn.; sisters-in-law Annette Wilderson of Ellicott City, Md., Kathy (James) Johnston of Milton, Del., Sharon Leaf of Baltimore, Md., Cheryl (Charles) Hageage of Laurel, Md., and Paula (Jan) Greenspan of Erie, Colo.; brothers-in-law Brian (Darlene) Leaf of Berkeley Springs, W. Va., Steven (Ann) Leaf) of Woodbine, Md., and Peter (Karen) Leafe of Marriottsville, Md., mother-in-law Phyllis Leaf of Elkridge, Md.; and many nieces and nephews survive him.

Freda DeVous

Services for Freda Eleanor DeVous, 81, who died June 8 in Las Vegas, will be held at 6 p.m. today at the Neptune Society chapel, 720 Buol Lane, with Pastor Dick Bauer presiding.

She was born Oct. 26, 1921 in Ontario, Canada, and moved to Pahrump in 1996 coming from Arroyo Grande, Calif.

She worked as secretary for the Hughes Corporation and was a member of the Elks and Moose. She loved reading mysteries and collected porcelain birds.

Her sons Mark (Yvonne) DeVous and Arthur (Sue) DeVous, both of Pahrump; granddaughter Kara (Tony) Curto of Pahrump; and three great grandchildren survive her.

Theresa Krukowski

Services for Theresa Krukowski, 70, who died June 6 at her home in Pahrump, will be held at 10 a.m. today at St. Joseph Husband of Mary Catholic Church in Las Vegas.

She was born Dec. 27, 1932, in New York, and was a Pahrump resident.

She worked as a cosmetologist before retiring.

Her husband Frank of Pahrump and two daughters survive her.

Eloise Kamalii

No services will be held for Eloise Leilani Kamalii, 69, who died Oct. 25 in Las Vegas.

She was born Sept. 26, 1934 in Hilo, Hawaii, and was a resident of Pahrump for three years.

She worked as a C.P.S. aid for state government until retirement.

Her daughters Jowette Padua of Pahrump; Susan Brwon of Hilo, Judy Kamalii of Waimea, Hawaii, and Sherry Santos of Nevada; sons Richard Kamalii of Hilo and Ronson Kamalii of Sarasota, Fla.; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren survive her.
