John Clark

Interment for John Daniel Clark, 81, who died March 27 in Pahrump, will be held at Southern Nevada Veterans cemetery at a later date.

He was born Oct. 4, 1922 in Michigan, and moved from there to Pahrump 18 months ago.

He served in the U.S. Army and then worked as a tester for the Ford Motor Co. He was of the Baptist faith.

His wife Phyllis of Pahrump; sons John D. (Joyce) Clark Jr. of Colorado and Patrick H. Clark of Pahrump; niece Nancy Grant of Pahrump; seven grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren survive him.

Florence Berry

A memorial mass for Florence Berry, 77, who died March 23 in Las Vegas, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. There will be a rosary before the mass at 1 p.m.

She was born April 6, 1926 in New Bremen, N.Y. to Henry J. and Hattie Kohler Aucter. She was educated at Father Leo's Catholic School in Croghan, N.Y. She was employed in Lowville, N.Y. as a mill worker at Climax Manufacturing and as a housekeeper at Lewis County General Hospital. She married John Berry at St. Stephens Catholic Church on Nov. 28, 1946.

She was a founding member of the New Bremen Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary; a member of the St. Therese Guild, Lowville; the Rosary Altar Society at St. Peter's Catholic Church, New Bremen; and the Daughters of Mary and the Rosary Makers Guild of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. She was also a member of VFW Post 6912 in Lowville and Post 10054 in Pahrump.

Her sons John Jr. (Kimberly) of Chardon, Ohio and Allen (Laloni) of Howe, Okla.; daughters Frances (Fred) Wilcox of Pahrump, Sandra and Richard Shutter of Las Vegas, Carolyn and Craig Thayer of Plano, Texas, and Susan Berry and companion Brian Daily of Eaton Rapids, Mich.; sisters Edna Hoch and Alice Bush of Croghan and Mary Lou Cullen of Eatonton, Ga.; sisters-in-law Ruth (Roy) Moser of Black River, N.Y., Doris (Bill) Mack of Croghan and Anna Mae Russell of Lowville; nine grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and six step great grandchildren survive her.

Her husband John, sisters Helena Yauney and Leona Briot, brothers John and Ronald Aucter and a step grandchild preceded her in death.

A funeral mass will also be held at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Croghan at 10:30 a.m. April 20. Burial will be in St. Peter's cemetery, New Bremen.

Donations may be made to Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church or Solari Hospice Care, 2820 W. Charleston Blvd., Suite 11, Las Vegas, NV 89102.

William Fagg

A memorial service for William B. Fagg, 77, who died March 29 in Henderson, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

He was born March 26, 1927 in Tabernash, Colo., and was a 38-year resident of Pahrump.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and then was the owner and operator of a construction company until his retirement.

He was a former member of the International Operating Engineers Local No. 9 and a mobile home inspector for three years in Pahrump.

His wife Caroline Fagg of Pahrump; son William Flagg of Palmer, Alaska; daughter Susan Moore of Pahrump; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren survive him.

Jane Sieger

A memorial service for Jane Sieger, 85, who died Feb. 17 in Las Vegas, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Pahrump Community Church, 1061 E. Wilson Road, with Pastor Dick Bauer presiding.

She was born Jane Regna Gregory on April 5, 1918 in Lincoln, Ill., and married Frank Sieger in 1970. She was a member of the Pahrump Community Church.

Her husband Frank; daughters Alice Kathryn Dibler Gibson and Alta Carolyn Dibler Hester, both of California; son Allan DeWitt Dibler of Nevada; stepdaughter Margaret Lynn Sieger Rickard; four grandsons; and three great grandchildren survive her.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Friends of the Library in Pahrump.

Albert Cannon

A Celebration of Life will be held for Albert M. Cannon, 72, who died Feb. 20 in Pahrump, from 2-4 p.m. at 3040 S. Santa Clara Drive, Santa Clara, Utah.

He was born Sept. 10, 1931 in Utah and was a 17-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Las Vegas.

He served for five years in the U.S. Navy and worked as a foreman at the Nevada Test Site until his retirement 12 years ago.

He belonged to the VFW and was a member of the LDS church.

His wife Beverly of Pahrump; daughter Kerry (Dale) Brimley of California; sons Andy Bolander and Kelly Bolander, both of Utah; brothers Clare Cannon and Paige Cannon of Utah; sister Karen Frei of Utah; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren survive him.

John Chapman

Private family services will be held for John Ernest Chapman, 84, who died March 30 in Pahrump.

He was born May 23, 1919 in Edison, Neb., and moved to Pahrump in 1991, coming from Modesto, Calif.

He was a veteran of WWII and loved to pan for gold and metal detecting.

His wife Jonnie Chapman of Pahrump; son Max Chapman of Reno; daughter Norma (John) Watson of Eufaula, Okla.; and sister Julie Pennock survive him.

Donald Mullins

Donald "Doc" Mullins, 53, died April 1 in New Harmony, Utah.

He was born June 15, 1950 and was a resident of Pahrump for 10 years, moving to New Harmony two years ago.

He was a street rodder who loved his old cars. He had a great sense of humor and he loved fishing, his dogs, antiques, trading things and New Harmony.

Interment will be in New Harmony. Neptune Society of Nye County handled the arrangements. (4/1/04)

Edward Duffield

No services will be held for Edward J. Duffield Jr., 71, who died March 28 in Pahrump.

He was born Aug. 20, 1932 in New Jersey and was a 16-year resident of Pahrump, coming from California.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and then was self-employed as a business owner for 10 years.

He is survived by the "light of his life" for 23 years, Alice, of Pahrump; sister Joanne Thomas of Maryland; niece Brenda Logan of Maryland; nephews Kyle and Eric Duffield of Maryland; and aunt Dorothy Duffield of California.

His parents preceded him in death.

Ralph Fish

Services for Ralph Fish, 69, who died March 29 in Pahrump, will be held at a later date.

He was born Sept. 24, 1934 in Oregon, and moved to Pahrump 18 months ago from Washington.

He worked at a plywood manufacturing company and was of the Protestant faith.

Deana Corbitt of Pahrump; sons Mike and Daryl of Oregon and Dan of California; daughters Lorina and Vicki of Oregon; three brothers; one sister; several grandchildren; and four great grandchildren survive him.

John Behling

Funeral services for John Edward Behling Sr., 68, who died April 4 in Las Vegas, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Pahrump Family Mortuary. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m.

He was born Jan. 8, 1936 in Chicago and was a resident of Pahrump for over five years, coming from Rockford, Ill.

He received a bachelor's degree from Carthage College in Kenosha, Wis., and a master's degree from Rockford College. He worked as a teacher in the Rockford public school system until his retirement in 1994.

He enjoyed bowling and was of the Lutheran faith.

His wife Leta of Pahrump; daughter Cheryl (Bruce) Bjurstrom of Des Moines; son John (Robin) Behling Jr. of Honolulu, Hawaii; one sister; two brothers; and two grandchildren survive him.

His parents and two brothers preceded him in death.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 Swenson Street, Las Vegas, NV 89119.

Donna Vasque Powers

Graveside services for Donna M. Vasque Powers, 67, who died April 4 at Nathan Adelson Hospice, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Memory Gardens in Las Vegas.

She was born Nov. 7, 1936 in Loma, N.D. She moved to Pahrump in 1982, coming from Las Vegas, and worked as a cashier.

Her husband W.D. Vasque of Pahrump; daughter Brenda (Ted) Ball of Sioux City, Iowa; son Gordon (Colleen) Vasque of S. Sioux City; sister Lucy (Marvin) Austin of Idaho; brother Gordon (Aster) Powers of Henderson; four grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren survive her.

Her father, mother, sister, brother, son and granddaughter preceded her in death.
