Angela Bogacki

Visitation for Angela Lee Bogacki, 38, who died April 19 in Las Vegas, will from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Pahrump Family Mortuary. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday.

She was born Oct. 15, 1965 in California and was a resident of Pahrump for nine years.

She was a homemaker and of the Christian faith.

Her daughters Colleen Bogacki of Michigan, Serena Sanders of Pahrump and Wenter Sanders of California; sons Allen Bogacki and Richard Bogacki, both of Nebraska, Christpher Sanders Jr. and Austin Lewys, both of Pahrump, and Lucas Sanders of California; parents James and Linda Heller of Pahrump; sisters Sheila Rogers of Texas, Mary Ann Huffman and Angie Lewis, both of Pahrump; and brothers James Heller of California and Kevin Heller of Texas, survive her.

Rose Hill

Services have been held in Issaquah, Wash., for Rose Evamae Hill, 68, who died April 18 in North Bend, Wash.

She was born June 4, 1935 to Roy and Lillian Edwards in Seattle. She worked for King County (Wash.) at the Cedar Hills Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center in Maple Valley for over 22 years. While employed there she received a prestigious award for a number of programs she developed. She was an avid member of Alcoholics Anonymous for the past 27 years, where she had many friends.

After retiring in 1997, she moved to Pahrump, where she volunteered with the Nye County Sheriff's Office. While supporting the DARE program, Rose took second place in the nation in candy sales. After being diagnosed with kidney cancer in January 2001, she started the first support group for cancer survivors in Pahrump.

Her children Diane Link of Spokane, Wash., Steve Robinson of Bothell, Wash., Cheri (Mark) Schmitt of Port Angeles, Wash., Terry (Belle) Hill of North Bend, Wash., Sharon Hill of Spokane, Randy (Linda) Hill of Kirkland, Wash., and Mort (Billie-Jo) Hill of Columbia Falls, Mont.; sisters Jackie Sidbeck and Pam Watson, both of Arizona, Vivian Gomes of Pennsylvania, LaVerne Goodrich of Black Diamond, Wash., and LaVonne Beder of Auburn, Wash.; brothers Don (Rita) Clifton of California, Bruce Goodrich of Auburn and Arthur Goodrich of Seattle; 21 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren survive her.

She was preceded in death by her husband George Hill in 1993 and daughter Shelly Soltis in 2000.

Pat Diggins

A memorial service for Pat Diggins, 79, who died April 17 in Las Vegas, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of the Valley Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial cemetery in Boulder City.

He was born Feb. 12, 1925 in Moorhead, Minn., and was a 10-year resident of Pahrump.

He served in the U.S. Navy and worked as a retail clerk before retiring.

His wife Bertie of Pahrump; daughter Clarice Perrico of Ohio; sons Frank Diggins of Oregon, Ken Diggins, Brian Diggins and Kevin Diggins, all of Arizona; sisters Mary Remley and Trudy Hayes; 11 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren survive him.

His father Francis Diggins, mother Gertrude Eich, and brothers John, Bill, George, Frank and Alfred preceded him in death.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice in Pahrump. (4/17/04)

Narvin Keeney

Services for Narvin G. Keeney, 71, who died April 18 in Las Vegas, will be held at 11 a.m. today at First Southern Baptist Church in Pahrump.

He was born May 4, 1932 in Missouri and was a 23-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Arizona.

He served in the U.S. Marines and was employed as an iron worker.

A Christian, he was a member of First Southern Baptist Church.

His wife Roni of Pahrump; sons Michael (Becky) Keeney and Patrick (Jennifer) Keeney, both of Missouri, and Don Peterson of Arizona; sisters Karen and Harriet of Missouri; brothers Bob, Keith and Gary of Missouri; mother Edrie of Missouri; nine grandchildren; and one great grandchild survive him.

His father and one sister preceded him in death.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice.

Larry Davis

Interment for Larry Wayne Davis, 58, who died April 13 in Pahrump, will be in Durant, Okla.

The youngest of 10 children, he was born May 26, 1946 to Maudie and Essie Davis in Durant. He was a resident of Pahrump for five years.

He was employed as a concrete finisher and was a member of Teamsters Local No. 631 in Las Vegas.

His son Wesley Davis and four grandchildren survive him. (4/14/04)

Michael Conner

Services have been held for Michael Eugene Connor, 48, who died April 19 in Fallon.

He was born May 11, 1955 and was a resident of Fallon for five years, coming from Laughlin.

He was a math teacher and track coach at Churchill County High School in Fallon and previously taught girls volleyball and basketball there.

He met his wife in Beatty where he was a teacher and coach of volleyball and basketball at Beatty High School. There he led both teams to state competition where they held the championships for basketball for three years and volleyball for four years.

He and his wife moved to Polo, Mo., where he taught and coached for two years. They then moved to Laughlin for one year before moving to Fallon.

His wife of 12 years, Lynn, of Fallon; daughters Stacy (Jesse) Josephson and Mistie; son Chris Mueller; grandchildren Samantha, Brandon, Trista, Clara, Jessica, Timothy and Page, survive him.

His parents preceded him in death.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the high school athletic association; make checks payable to Churchill County High School, 1222 S. Taylor Street, Fallon, Nevada 89406.

Leo Roush

Services for Leo W. Roush, 84, who died April 20 in Pahrump, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Church on a Mission, 4670 Pahrump Valley Boulevard.

He was born Jan. 5, 1920 in Prairie City, Iowa and was a 10-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Salinas, Calif.

He served in the U.S. Army and then worked as a carpenter until his retirement 25 years ago. He was a Christian.

His son Bill (Kathy) Roush of California; sister Ina Roush of Iowa; brother Henry Roush of Iowa; companion Betty Bieganski of Pahrump; and two grandchildren survive him.

Anna Duke

Services for Anna Duke, 79, who died April 21 in Henderson, will be held at 1:20 p.m. Monday at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial cemetery chapel, with burial to follow.

She was born Oct. 11, 1924 in Kansas City, Kan., and was a 40-year resident of Henderson. She was a homemaker.

Her husband Beryl Duke of Henderson; sons Robin Duke of Las Vegas; Bruce Duke of Henderson; Terry Duke, Ralph Duke and Allon Duke, all of Pahrump; sister Betty Friday of Las Vegas; 10 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren, survive her.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Diane Smith

A celebration of life for Diane Carol Smith, 61, who died April 23 in Pahrump, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pahrump Family Mortuary on Vicki Ann Road.

She was born Nov. 12, 1942 in Minneapolis, Minn., was a resident of Pahrump since 1980.

She worked at PJ's Supermarket when Pahrump's first grocery store opened, had an in-home daycare and was the owner and operator of Big Olaf's Ice Cream and Sandwich Shop, which she is best known for. Her most recent success was as owner and hairstylist of Attitudes/Absolutely U.

She will be dearly missed as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all.

Her husband of 43 years, Robert, of Pahrump; sons Daren (Faith) Smith of Las Vegas, Jeff (Karyn) Smith of Pahrump and Ben (Nicole) Smith of Boulder City; sister Marilyn Brown of Las Vegas; and nine grandchildren survive her.

A son, David Leland Smith, preceded her in death.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice in Pahrump.

Joe Ethridge

A celebration of life for Joe David Ethridge, 51, who died April 25 in Las Vegas, will be held from 4-8 p.m. May 2 at 2660 Retread Road (cross streets Charleston Park and Woodchips).

He was born Sept. 5, 1952 in North Las Vegas and moved from there to Pahrump 18 years ago.

He was a retired phlebotomist who worked at University Medical Center.

His wife Judi Ethridge of Pahrump; daughter Michelle; and true friends Calvin and Tamae Lefferts and Stacy Steffes survive him.

Neptune Society of Nye County handled the arrangements. (4/25/04)
