Helen Holiday

Private family services have been held for Helen Easter Holiday, 83, who died April 1 in Pahrump.

She was born March 26, 1921 in Madera County, Calif., and moved from there to Pahrump in 1994.

She worked as a waitress until her retirement.

Her son Dannie (Becky) Holiday of Pahrump; brother Elmer Jordan; sister Edith Jordan; and two grandchildren survive her.

David Attridge

Private family services have been held for David Richard Attridge, 36, who died April 18 in Pahrump.

He was born Nov. 25, 1967 in New York City, and moved to Pahrump from Las Vegas. He worked in sales.

His mother Carmen Attridge of Pahrump; companion Mike Hart of Las Vegas; brothers Mark (Norma) Attridge of Carbondale, Colo., Richard Attridge, Jeffery Attridge and Christopher Attridge; sisters Tracey Truax of Pahrump and Lori, survive her.

Caroline Ludwig

Services for Caroline Ludwig, 68, who died April 24 in Pahrump, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Choice Hills Baptist Church, 340 W. Mesquite Avenue, with Pastor Carl Englund presiding.

She was born Sept. 6, 1935 in Hettinger, N.D., and was an 11-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Elko.

Her husband Pete Ludwig; son Ron Gatzke; daughters Sharon Burmeister and Tammy Filps; sisters Phyllis Fichtel and Eileen Lippincott; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild survive her.

Neptune Society of Nye County handled the arrangements. (4/24/04)

Howard Chamberlain

A memorial service for Howard Westly Chamberlain, 75, who died April 24, will be held in South Windsor, Conn.

His children Faye (Mel) of East Windsor, Conn., Howard Jr. of Bethany, Conn., Joy (John) of Minnesota, Nancy (Andy) of Japan, Dawn (Mark) of Florida, and Dean of Minnesota; sisters Velma, Mary and Faye; brother Harold; grandchildren Kyle, Kori, Amber, Dawn and Jordan; and many other family members and friends survive him.

His wife Aurel preceded him in death.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Lung Association or the American Cancer Society.

Paul Cowling

Private family services will be held for Paul L. Cowling, 78, who died April 23 in Las Vegas.

He was born July 24, 1925 in Michigan and moved to Pahrump two years ago from Nebraska.

He worked as a truck driver and was of the Catholic faith.

His wife Mary Cowling of Pahrump, seven sons, five daughters and many grandchildren survive him.

Leonard Reynolds

Services for Leonard D. Reynolds, 95, who died April 22 in Las Vegas, were held in Ogden, Utah April 28.

He was born March 17, 1909 to Leonard and Jennie Cope Reynolds. He was a lifelong resident of Ogden and Clearfield, Utah.

He retired from Hill Air Force Base as an aircraft instrument repairman. After retiring, he and his wife Pearl were snowbirds in Yuma, Ariz. and Pahrump for many years before settling in Pahrump in 1993.

He was a member of the LDS church. He and Pearl will be remembered by how much how much they dearly loved their family and friends.

His son Val (Leah) of Pahrump; daughters Barbara (Vern) Solomon and Joanne (Billy) Downs of Pahrump; and sister Arda Klossner of New Albany, Ohio survive him.

His wife of 72 years, Pearl, daughter Carol Taylor, two granddaughters, two great grandsons, four brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice.

Omer O'Neill

Services for Omer Winfield "Patrick" O'Neill, 71, who died April 30 in Parks, Ariz., will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church, 127 W. Sherman Avenue, Williams, Ariz.

He was born March 17, 1933 in Williams, where he graduated from Williams High School.

He served in the armed forces at Ford Ord., Calif., was a charter member of local 769 IBEW all his life, and worked as a lineman in Pahrump for 13 years.

His children Calleen Sweeter, Terry O'Neill, Lorrie Halfast, all of Flagstaff, and Patrick O'Neill of Phoenix; eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren survive him.

His parents Harry and Margaret O'Neill, brothers Clarence, Harry, Charles and Eugene O'Neill, and sisters Elsa Mahan and Margaret O'Neill preceded him in death.

Gary Petersen

Private services will be held in Connecticut for Gary Thomas Petersen, 67, who died April 30 in Pahrump.

He was born Sept. 29, 1936 in Stamford, Conn., and moved to Pahrump in 1998, coming from Connecticut.

He worked as a manager in the aircraft industry and was an avid Bingo player.

His wife Jacquelin Petersen of Pahrump; mother Winfred Petersen of Pahrump; and sons Christopher Thomas Peterson of Danbury, Conn., and Brett Thomas Petersen of New Town, Conn.; brother Kevin Petersen of Stamford, Conn.; and two grandchildren survive him.

Ruth Reed

Graveside services for Ruth Elizabeth Reed, 66, who died March 15 in Las Vegas, were held March 29 at Pahrump Family Mortuary with members of her church present.

She was born to Frank and Hazel Reed in St. Francis, S.D. She was a member of the Relief Society of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and attended the Pahrump LDS Church.

Her brothers Frank and Robert of Florida, Alfred of California; sisters Alfreda Meegan of California, Beverly Pangallo of New York, Dee Huff of California and Mary Grace Mines of Illinois survive her.

Her father Frank, mother Hazel, brother Donald Jay and sister Zona Graham preceded her in death. (3/15/04)

Erma Ridgeway

Services have been held for Erma Ridgeway, 85, who died April 28 in Las Vegas.

She was born Aug. 4, 1918 in Boise, Idaho. She was a homemaker and an 18-year resident of Pahrump.

Her daughters Marcia Ridgeway and Barbara Ayoub, both of Pahrump; son Bob Ridgeway of Las Vegas; nine grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren survive her.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Nadeene Eastman

A memorial service for Nadeene Eastman, 85, who died May 4 in Amargosa Valley, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Amargosa Community Center. A luncheon will follow the service.

She was born March 3, 1919 in Phoenix and was a 32-year resident of Amargosa Valley, coming from Indian Springs.

She was a homemaker who was active at the Amargosa Senior Center and the Amargosa Improvement Association.

Her sons Jack (Judy) Eastman of Escondido, Calif., and Robert (Mary Kay) Eastman of Amargosa Valley; daughter-in-law Salley Eastman of Ringgold, Ga.; brother Joseph Matthews of Camino, Calif.; sisters Elizabeth Eastman of Pollock Pines, Calif., Evelyn Strunk of Lockford, Calif., and Velma Durgin of Diamond Springs, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren survive her.

She was preceded in death by her husband George in June 1993, and her son George Charles in Sept. 2003.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Nathan Adelson Hospice.

Oscar McGhan

Services for Oscar Martin McGhan, 54, who died April 30, will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Pahrump VFW Post 10054.

He was born Dec. 9, 1949 in Dubuque, Iowa and was a 10-year resident of Pahrump.

He was a Vietnam veteran serving in the 58th Infantry Army.

His son Alex McGhan; daughter Jinae (Nate) Besmer; brothers Rollin (Lori) McGhan and Larry (Kathy) McGhan; sisters Barb (Mac) McKay, Pat (Steve) Stuber, Rita (Don) O'Connor, Nellie (Wayne) Weber, and Sandy (Jerry) Cormier survive him.

Diane McGhan and his parents, Roland and Theresa McGhan, preceded him in death.
