Norman Koenig

Norman O. Koenig, 82, died May 7 in Henderson. He is interred at the VA cemetery in Boulder City.

He was born Sept. 9, 1921 in Texas and was a resident of Pahrump since 1989.

He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was a member of the VFW and the Moose Lodge.

His wife Wilma Koenig of Pahrump; daughter Teri Miller; brother Jake Koenig; and two grandchildren survive him.

Hites Funeral Home handled the arrangements. (5/7/04)

Hazel Bandazian

A memorial service for Hazel Bandazian, 66, who died May 15 in Pahrump, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pahrump Community Church, 1061 E. Wilson Road.

She worked as a secretary for the Nye County School District for 20 years before retiring in 2000. She was of the Roman Catholic faith.

Her husband of 42 years, Robert, of Pahrump; sons Larry Bandazian of Japan, David Bandazian of Las Vegas, and Jim (Lura) Bandazian of Pahrump; daughters Sheree (Sam) Stringer of Pahrump, Brenda (Doug) Bailey of Utah and Patty Humbarger of Pahrump; mother Hazel McLaughlin of Pahrump; brother Doug (Sande) McLaughlin of Sparks; sister Joanie (Alfred) Denise of North Carolina; 16 grandchildren; and one great grandchild survive her.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice.

Susan Cox Susan Cox

Services have been held for Susan Kay Cox, 42, who died May 7 in Bethany, Mo.

She was born Aug. 31, 1961 in Des Moines, Iowa. She lived in Pahrump for eight years before moving to Bethany.

She worked as a bartender and as a welder for Landmark Manufacturing in Bethany.

Her sons Ryan (Heather) of Bethany and David Brownsberger of Virginia Beach, Va.; father Harry Cox of Bethany; sister Cindy Stephens of Wisconsin; granddaughter Ivy Lynn Cox; one niece; and three nephews survive her.

Roberson Funeral Home in Bethany handled the arrangements. (5/7/04)

Norma Bowman

Services for Norma Frehner Bowman, 81 who died May 14, will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at the Pahrump LDS chapel, with visitation starting at 10 a.m. She will be interred in Logandale, Nev.

She was born June 9, 1922 in St. Thomas, Nevada. A homemaker, she was a lifetime Nevada resident, living in Pahrump since 1946.

She held several positions in the LDS church including Relief Society President, Young Women's President, Primary President and Temple Worker in the Las Vegas temple.

She was also a member of the PTA and Pahrump Women's Club, and was a 4-H leader. She was active in elementary school activities and an avid gardener.

She loved all of her family and enjoyed having them close by. She was proud of her heritage as a pioneer Nevadan and she cherished memories of her early childhood days in St. Thomas and the Logandale-Overton area.

Her daughters Laraine (Brent) Crowther of Pahrump, Janet Rife of Mesa, Ariz., and Karen (Lee) Jolley of Pahrump; sons Gary (Juliana) Bowman and Mark (Debra) Bowman, both of Pahrump; brothers Ted Frehner of Pahrump, Floyd Frehner and Garth Frehner, both of Las Vegas; sister Ida Cucisk of Las Vegas; 15 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren survive her.

Her husband of 57 years, Paul, preceded her in death in 1998.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice.

Richard Rauschenbach

Services have been held for Richard Rauschenbach, 48, who died March 19 in Las Vegas,

He was born Aug. 5, 1955 in Boston, Mass., and worked as a machinist in the aircraft industry.

He was a resident of Pahrump for eight years, coming from Las Vegas.

His wife Patricia of Pahrump; stepson Malcolm Pfeferstein of California; sister Kathryn Rauschenbach of Montana; brothers Robert Rauschenbach of California and George (Janet) DeRoth of Las Vegas; and close friend John Hopkins survive him.

His parents preceded him in death.

Maxie Done

Services have been held for Maxie P. Done, 70, who died May 13, 2004 in Pahrump.

She was born May 31, 1933 in Utah and was a 22-year resident of Pahrump.

She was a homemaker, a member of the Relief Society and a teacher at the LDS Church.

Her husband Keneth of Pahrump; sons Rolfe Done and Philip (Kathern) Done, both of Las Vegas; daughters Karla Done of Las Vegas and Debra (Fred) DaVee of Pahrump; 16 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren survive her.

Barney Ellis

A memorial service for Barney "Allen" Ellis, 71, who died May 18 in Las Vegas, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Pahrump Senior Center, 1370 W. Basin Avenue.

He was born Nov. 5, 1932, and moved to Pahrump six years ago from El Paso, Texas.

He worked as an electrical engineer for the El Paso Edison Company for 17 years before retiring.

His sister Joann Gillis of Denver; daughters Kathy Medine and Tracy Ellis, both of Pahrump; sons Randy Ellis of Pahrump, Rick Ellis of San Diego and Steve Ellis of Auburn, Calif., and 11 grandchildren survive him.

His father Barney Ellis, mother Lorraine Ellis, and brother Bill Ellis preceded him in death.

Clara Ramsey

Services for Clara "Claire" Ramsey, 72, who died May 12 in Pahrump, will be held at 2 p.m. today at the First Southern Baptist Church on Highway 160.

She was born Aug. 21, 1931 in Kansas. She was a 27-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Los Angeles.

She was a founding member of the First Southern Baptist Church. She worked on many of the Town of Pahrump advisory boards, ran for county commissioner and was elected as the Nye County Public Administrator. She was retired from the Pahrump Library District board of trustees. She worked at various positions within the community such as the town office and Nye County School District. She also held positions on various boards such as the Pahrump Humane Society and Service Assistance Program (SAP), of which she was a founding member.

Her friend Donald Rupnik of Pahrump and many other friends too numerous to name survive her.

Her husband, Frank Ramsey, preceded her in death.

David Buckley

Services are pending for David Jack Buckley, 69, who died May 10 in Pahrump.

He was born Jan. 4, 1935 in New Boston, Ohio, and moved to Pahrump Jan. 1, coming from Fontana, Calif.

A veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars, he had a 20-year career in the. Navy as a senior chief electrician, retiring in 1972. He then worked as a maintenance engineer for Tamco, until his retirement in 1998.

He had been a member of the Eagles in San Bernardino, Calif., since 1974 and a member of the Moose Lodge since 1996.

His wife Dona Buckley of Pahrump; sons Michael Buckley and Bruce Buckley, both of California, Roscoe Buckley of Oklahoma, Paul Ackerman, Donald Buckley and Richard Buckley, all of Nebraska, Wesley Miller of Missouri, and Brandon Miller of Georgia; daughters Jackie Buckley of New Mexico, Laurie Martin and Beth Buckley, both of Nebraska, Carole Wright, Dodi Buckley, Jodi Martinez, and Frances McLeod, all of California, Billi Ann Voight and Kayla Buckley, both of Georgia; 24 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren, survive him.

Jimmy Allen

Services for Jimmy Allen, 49, who died May 17 in Pahrump, will be held at 1 p.m. May 29 at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. A celebration of his life will be held immediately following at Who's Dunes on the corner of Highway 372 and Linda Street.

He was born Aug. 18, 1954 in Troy, N.Y., and was a resident of Pahrump for five years after living in Las Vegas for 25 years.

He graduated from Chenango Valley High School in Binghamton, N.Y. He was a bartender in Pahrump and Las Vegas. He was a member of the Saloon Sweethearts Show of Las Vegas for 17 years, which benefited the American Breast Cancer Society.

His parents, Jerry and Eileen Allen, of Pahrump; brother Tommy Allen of Pahrump; sisters Casey Michael of Pahrump and Jennifer Chumbley, of Las Vegas; nephews Barry, James, Nick, Steve and Jeremy, and niece Tricia survive him.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Nathan Adelson Hospice of Pahrump.
